Fantastic experience: Ryan Rad was amazing! My mullet was getting out of control / my hair was getting super long. This was my first time at Hairchitect, and was super impressed with my experience all around. Had a beer (coronita) and a whiskey while I waited. I intentionally showed up 15-20 minutes early to settle in, and enjoy the music / drinks. Ryan was super precise with his scissor work, and tapered the sides which is what I asked for! I have medium / long length hair with a lot of weight, and Ryan managed to clean my hair up, and got me looking right again! Will certainly be coming back. I also got an espresso for the road which was an awesome finishing touch!

I tried Hairchitect on the recommendation of a friend and it was definitely the right call. Colin offered advice on length and style, as well as care for longer hair and gives a great haircut. Fantastic experience: Arrived in SF from Paris and needed a haircut. By chance stumbled upon the best barbershop in the world , the guys are amazing. Walked in without appointment immediatly offered a drink which for a Scotsman was most welcome ... all the staff friendly beyond expectation.the whole team and all the customers engaged in great chat and we all enjoyed a few shots. Oh and not to forget why I came in, special mention to Nacio who took 10 years off my look with a great cut. We had a consultative chat about what type of cut I was looking for before getting started. I showed him some photos, and he showed me some as well so we were on the same page. While cutting, he was expertly opinionated and also open to feedback, making adjustments to my hair based on my preferences. We had some fun discussion, and the vibe in the shop was great. Negative experience: I really hesitated to write a review, but they were very insistent I leave one after paying. Came in for a haircut that turned out noticeably uneven - one side of my neck was cut round, the other square; the back was longer than the top; and my sideburns were uneven and cut differently from each other. Multiple people commented on it looking off the next day. When I called to ask if they’d fix it, the response felt a very defensive and rude - it was an awkward phone call, but they did offer to have me come back at 8am, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I arrived on time to find the shop closed; waited 5 or so minutes, then left. Ended up having to spend $120 at another barber to get it corrected. For $100, I expected significantly higher quality.

Negative experience: I had a 5:45 appointment and was delayed until 6:15. I had a very tight schedule. When I got there one guy in the front greeted me and asked if I wanted water and it felt welcoming but then it was a 30 minute wait. Why would I have a 5:45 appointment and have to wait 30 mins. If that was the case I would have just booked it at 6:15. I feel like scheduling isn’t as professional as expected. The barber then sat me down and apologized but then I was kind of annoyed by that point. Then I showed a photo of what I wanted for a cut. It was a mid bald taper but then when it was fully done it didn’t even look like my picture. I paid 100 dollars for it. I’ll tell you one thing. It’s not worth 100 dollars. The cut I got was more of a 30-40 dollar MAX cut. The taper wasn’t even blended that well. I asked for a skin fade taper. The barbers skill set wasn’t worth it. He cut for 5+ years but still mid.

Fantastic experience: Was in San Francisco for the holidays, 2 weeks past a regular haircut and a week of not shaving, thought I’d go for something new. Jonny was great. I tossed around a couple of ideas, he listened and made a few suggestions and got to it. I left with a tapered fade with high combover, he trimmed and put a pattern on beard, I left looking new. That’s something for a 60+ year old man, haha. They run a great shop, perfect mix of traditional barber your dad went to with a current vibe……espresso, hot towel shave, tequila shots with the regulars when they came in. If I were local, this would be my place.

Every barber I went to would cut my crown way too short, Colin knows how to leave length in the right areas so that my hair actually cooperates. I was hesitant about the price at first, but he makes it worth it. Fantastic experience: I really needed a haircut after getting a cheap one last month that didn’t turn out well, so I searched for Hairchitect Barber on Google and booked an appointment with an available barber. I got there an hour early, and everyone was very welcoming—they even offered me a beverage while I waited. My barber, Deny, asked what I wanted, and I showed him a picture of a medium length brushed back style. For the first time ever, someone actually cut my hair exactly how I wanted. It was awesome. Deny is skilled, patient, and makes sure to ask how you want your cut while giving helpful options. This place is now my go to barber. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Got a fade cut and beardwork from Nacio, whom I highly recommend. Despite being under a time crunch (my fault) he did a fantastic job. Very intuitive and skilled, and had a great time chatting with him. The location has a chill, welcoming vibe, and its easy to relax in, with drinks available there and great coffee across the street. Just give yourself an extra 5-10 mins for parking!
