Huge thanks to Jay who immediately calmed my nerves by starting with a consultation based on my face shape and growth pattern. And man, did he deliver. My beard went from scraggly to sharp. On top of that, the vibes of the shop were super chill with great music and people. Highly recommend!

You can get a drink here while you get a haircut which isnt just a normal basic barbershop, cut its basically a presidential haircut service you get a face massage in the middle of your haircut which is incredibly therapeutic you literally feel rejuvenated once your done. Fantastic experience: Decided to try The Barberhood out after switching many barbers over the years and had Turgut who absolutely crushed my cut. First barber that really had a POV on the right hairstyle, then re-shaped my hair very well and I walked out feeling super great! He's also super chill, easy to chat with but you also don't feel obligated to talk. Will be coming here again for sure!

Fantastic experience: This man Turk is and artist. A master of his craft, I never imagined I could have a barber experience so great, I am beyond pleased, not only is it a very nice spot I recommend Turk the master barber.

Negative experience: I paid $100 at Barberhood in the Marina expecting a clean, professional cut — what I got was the opposite. I told them I wanted a style I could fold/back-comb and style back, but the barber hacked it so short on top that it literally won’t fold back anymore. It’s uneven, looks rushed, and just not what I asked for. There was barely any consultation or check-in during the cut — no mirrors, no “How’s this?” — just snip, snip, and done. For $100 I expected attention to detail and a finished look I could be proud of. Instead I left feeling self-conscious and like I’d wasted my money. I’ve gotten better results at small Chinese salons nearby that charged me $40. If you want a premium price, you should get premium care — Barberhood did neither. Won’t be going back. Save your money and go somewhere that actually listens to what you ask for. Edit: to the owner this is not a fake review! Your business is a joke.

Fantastic experience: Got a haircut with Turk, was one of the best haircuts I’ve had in my life. He took his time and did everything right for me, even washed my hair with shampoo and conditioner too. Highly recommend him, my hair is pretty difficult to work with and he cut me like a pro!

Positive experience: I was cut by the owner, Jay. He was incredibly friendly and I liked his "process" (neck + face massage, cleansing, etc.) but unfortunately the cut itself didn't feel very well done: - Cut is visibly uneven/"bumpy" on one side. - Scissors wasn't as sharp as could be, this could be felt during the cut as "tugging" on the hair at times. - Hair was left on my lips and between eyes/nose after cut/shave.

Negative experience: Fine haircut, thought it was cool they offered me a drink then I got charged for a simple haircut 102.00 plus tip? Barberhood in the neighborhood is a Rip off.

Fantastic experience: So this was my first ever spending more than $40 on a haircut but I gotta admit, the Barberhood did right on my hair that day! I had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Joe who not only is a great barber but a chill/respectable dude. I usually get a high skin fade with a little trimmed off on top but he gave me some great advice on what styles to try out such as doing a soft line on the left side of my head, fading the back up until the cowsik, and great tops on products to use to keep my hair in its design that he finalized. The hot towel massage is great, they offer beverages, and overall a great vibe. Real professional and would come back. But honestly, book an appointment with Joe and you’ll have no regrets! That was woefully insufficient now that I have been regular customer for almost 3 years I can say without fear of contradiction jay the owner is an artist. He cuts my hair with precision but is not hesitant to give suggestions if it can enhance my appearance. My shaving is without parallel I walk out feeling as clean shaved as I can be and he is best with razor shave in sf.

Positive experience: Edit: We were able to work with the owner to resolve the issue. My husband went in for a simple fade. The barber was obviously inexperienced with the cut and did a very uneven job and didn’t cut the top at all. After he checked out and paid and tipped we realized how bad the cut was and went back and asked for a correction. Another barber helped with the correction but my husband still left with an uneven fade and some bald spots.
