Everyone in there is friendly and knowledgeable and I feel welcome every time. For the last few months Finley has been cutting my hair and he's been doing an amazing job on my coarse, curly & wild hair as I grow it out a bit. He's friendly, professional, skilled and is completely comfortable advising me on how to look after my annoying hair despite being a young lad with his whole career ahead of him. I'm really happy with the service and I can tell he is going to be one of the best barbers in the city. All in all it's an easy recommendation. These guys are the best in town.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Franco’s for about a year now, having previously tried almost twenty different barbers across Bristol. I wanted to transition from a skin fade to a longer hairstyle, so I was looking for somewhere with excellent reviews and a barber who could guide me through the change. For my first appointment, I chose Franco himself, and I haven’t looked back since. He was very straightforward and explained that my hair needed to be much longer to achieve the style I wanted. Even so, he managed to make it look as good as possible during the awkward growing-out stage. It’s refreshing to have a barber who shares genuine opinions and expertise rather than just going through the motions. He even recommended leaving longer gaps between cuts to let my hair grow properly, which gave me confidence that his advice was really about what was best for my hair. I’m very happy with my hairstyle now. I go in every five to six weeks, and I’ve also become a fan of their products, which are high quality and fairly priced. A few months ago Franco even gave me a complimentary haircut a couple of days before my wedding to ensure I looked my best. In short, while it may be a little more expensive than the average barber, the quality of service makes it excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend Franco’s.

From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Booking was prompt, the shop is in a great location, and the setup is clean, stylish, and held to a high professional standard. My haircut was executed flawlessly by Franco, the owner himself. His attention to detail and expertise were immediately clear. The knowledge and insight I gained in just one session were genuinely impressive. The only downside? Positive experience: Been getting my haircut with Harrison for about a year having had previously attended a “traditional” barbers for many years but who’d lost their way and had become proper inconsistent. I’ve got thick hair that grows really quickly and in different directions. Harrison has pretty much cut consistently produced a great haircut to what I ask for. He’s always attentive to explain what he’s doing and why to achieve the end result. Easy to book Franco’s as well, no hassle and receiving text reminders is really helpful. Fantastic experience: I’ve just moved to Bristol so was looking for a new hairdresser. I came in with a picture on my phone of something I had seen but had no idea how to get my hair to look like that. I saw Finn and he gave me a consultation and decided against cutting my hair at all, instead talking me through how he would style my hair after it was washed. He also told me all the products that I should use and I walked out with completely restyled hair without anything being cut. Needless to say I will be back in when I do need it cutting!

Fantastic experience: Got my hair cut and completely restyled here after a long time not visiting a barber. Millie did an amazing job, very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be returning when I need a trim.

Negative experience: Franco's: king of the low taper alien fade! I have received a haircut at Franco's on three occasions with three different barbers. On each occasion I have received what I can only describe as the 'low taper alien fade'. It's essentially a really low fade that leaves a lot of bulk around the upper portion of the sides and back, creating the illusion of an enormous 'alien-like' head. On one of the three occasions I asked for the recommendation of the barber, so I suppose that's on me. But on the other two occasions I asked for a "medium fade on the back and sides, keeping some length on top." By far the worst experience I had was with Franco himself. With Franco I made sure to ask specifically for a medium 'skin fade.' He then literally told me he thinks people with skin fades look "ill" and tried to passively aggressively convince me to get a different style. After an awkward debate, I was forced to settle with a medium fade from a 0.5mm. This would have been okay but in classic Franco style, it just ended up being a low taper alien fade. I get the sense that the barbers in that shop have something against fades, so if you ask for one they'll do everything in their power to avoid giving it to you. After three tries, I have finally learned my lesson. I shall not be returning to Franco's. Excuse the brutal burn but, I can see why Franco's wife divorced him. Nobody wants a lower taper alien fade bud. Note: Luke was a sound guy but still bad haircut unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: I went to Franco's for the first time to get my beared trimmed, and I originally had no Idea what I wanted. So I left it up to Franco which was the best Idea I could ever make. My beared has a lot more Structure now and is actually now revealing its true length. He also gave me advice on how to style it and keep it in shape, very professional advise. I have also booked the beared experience which was definetly a treat, and absolutely worth it to just relax and give your skin the treatment it deserves! I learnt a lot about hair and beard-related matters as well which was a nice bonus and he recommended a prime volumizing product which is a bit of a gamechanger!

Fantastic experience: Ever since moving to Bristol I was on the lookout for a Barber's that I could feel comfortable in and always leave happy... it's not that easy these days. After many failed attempts I ended up here and I have to say I've been blown away by the kindness of staff and the professionalism they all show. Franco the boss of the place is very friendly and always stops to say hi even if he's not working on your hair. My first Barber was Lee who was an amazing lady that has sadly moved on but she handed me over to a lovely woman called Aga who is simply brilliant at her craft. I always leave feeling confident and happy, she always cheers me up and spends a lot of time ensuring she's done the best job - they're really a credit to themselves here, I really can't see me going anywhere else in the future. I'd highly recommend the beard experience if you're a bloke that fancies a pampering now and again - it's worth every single penny and more.

Fantastic experience: I had my hair cut here yesterday with Luke. I showed a few pics of the style I wanted, and we were immediately on the same page. I really enjoyed him describing the process of what he was doing, and as well as a great casual chat, I was informed about the details of my hair in a way I hadn't been told before. I came away feeling great because the hair cut was exactly what I wanted and it had great texture. It was excellent value with Luke too, as he has just started at Franco's. They have an app that you can see which barber charges what on what days, or you can just go in and talk to them first, which is what I did. Highly recommended! Thanks Luke!

Fantastic experience: Been coming to this barber shop for well over a year and I refuse to go anywhere else. Franco is a very knowledgeable hair dresser who knows his stuff. Franco makes the time to discuss with you what cut you want and the various options available. The location is in a fantastic location on Gloucester Road making it very easy to get too. Recently introduced an app where you can pre book your appointments, make changes, cancel with ease.

Fantastic experience: We booked Francos as a group of 7 to start our day off for our friends stag do. He has a very big beard and was nervous to start with but the team were absolutely fantastic with everyone. Juliette the booking manager was fantastic, taking everyones details and working out a bespoke treatment plan for each person based on their preferences and beard/hair styles. Every one of the barbers were fantastic, had great chats and did a great job and there were many other little touches, like for example they let us have exclusive use of the venue and played a playlist we had given them to play. It set up our day fantastically and we would absolutely go back. If youre planning a party, stag do or whatever - this is a great way to get your day started!

Negative experience: Overpriced and not good value for money. It wasn't busy when I was there, but it did feel that robust plans were in place to make it Covid secure and it was very clean. The barber was friendly and chatty & he did a good sales pitch- hence I purchased a beard cleanser and powder for my hair- which retail online at £19 in total. For those items, a beard trim and hair trim I was charged £81. The beard and hair trim wasn't anything special. I like to support local businesses but I did feel let down by that price as I could get better value for money elsewhere. It was the first time that I didn't tip a barber- as I felt he had built it into the price already!

Fantastic experience: There is a huge amount of competition on the Gloucester Road when it comes to barbers. I have tried a few over the years but none come close to the professional, quality service provided at Franco's. Booking your trim through their website is a piece of cake and ensures you get the barber of your choice each time. I've had 3 very different hair styles from long to short over the past few years and they have adapted to each easily and professionally. They are always on hand to recommend quality hair products which they keep in good stock. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Visited Franco for a beard trim and left with a seemingly Bigger beard! Having allowed my beard to grow out of control I decided that it was time to trim it down to a very short and more manageable beard. Franco took the time to explain why my beard was in that state and instead suggested a care routine that will allow my beard to unfurl and reach its full potential. After demonstrating this routine he then styled the remaining beard while removing minimal hairs and presented me with a well-groomed, dense beard that I am very proud of! Highly recommended!

I was serviced by Lee and I must say, the experience was stellar - the cut looks amazing, she gave me plenty of advice on styling and caring for my hair, not to mention a very lovely conversation during the process. Even though the price is higher than more 'basic' hairdressers, I think it was very much worth every penny and I have absolutely no regrets. If I find myself living in Bristol ever again, I will definitely pay another visit!

Fantastic experience: Great barbers, great staff, working on appointment system especially during Covid which works very well. They have an App to use for booking appointments though you can phone if you prefer. Always feel Covid safe and very pleased with haircuts from Tom .

Fantastic experience: I tried to book Franco’s just after lock down, but as with ‘most’ places the wait was another 3 weeks and so I went with a quicker option - Today I managed to book and wondered if the positive reviews I had read were genuine or like many others made up? I am pleased to say that this is a very professional barbers and for the 1st time ever I actually got the cut I wanted & the very brief idea I had in my head was actually carried out exactly as I had hoped. Not the cheapest barbers, but for quality I can not recommend them highly enough & Gianluca typifies all of the professional qualities Franco’s are renowned for. Thank you

The first review was designated to my outstanding local Chinese Restaurant that I recommend to pretty much every person I meet. Franco's Barbering Lounge is exactly what I search for when getting a hair cut. I've spent years chopping and changing (aha) in order to find the right place that would give me a comfortable experience, not rush my haircut, do their best to make me feel welcome every time, and that operates professionally and consistently. I would recommend Franco's to anyone that is looking for a high end cut and experience. I would also highly suggest booking online for the next day, you won't be waiting around at all and the experience is just miles better. There is a built-in consultation with a haircut at Franco's, meaning they take the time to discuss with you what it is you're looking for, ruling out guess-work and making sure that every step is in the right direction. Couldn't give more than 5 stars, but I would if I could!
