Fantastic experience: I've been going to Ruari at S&A for over 6 years now, and I wouldnae wish to go anywhere else! Every haircut, regardless of style, is always expertly cut to such a high quality. I cannae reccommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: Sink and Anchor has been my go to barber since moving back to the UK a year and a half ago. They are great at what they do and are not ridiculously priced like a lot of Edinburgh businesses. Special shout out to Ruari who I always book in with myself- he does a tidy and spot on cut every single time and has good chat. Genuinely great guy too! Heavy recommend this business.

Negative experience: No words. i grew my hair out for 4 months just to have longer hair and i went to this barbor cause it had 5 stars because i thout he would make my hair look tidier not shorter since it wasnt cut for a long time and what have they done, they complety done the oppisite of what i wanted all 4 months of growing went to the bin and i am devistated my hair looks horrid.

The Skin & Anchor shop is cool, well located, has a chilled vibe and all the barbers seem great. It’s easy to book online and Ruari has always been very helpful and flexible - I’d certainly recommend. My friend has lived in Edinburgh his whole life and it’s the place to be for him too!

It's clear you love what you do and you're damn good at it. In addition to a kick-ass a haircut, the beard treatment and facial scrub is an absolute must add on to complete the experience. The beard butter was clutch in making my beard feel softer and comfortable. Great attention to detail and products and technique. Totally dig the ambiance that's a little bit biker a little bit skateboarder but all Barber and the doggie laying on the floor totally put it over the top. Smashed it!

Always gives a clean, fresh trim and is patient and actually listens to what you want — every time. He’s proper sound too, and the vibe in the chair is always chill. Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend more, I went in on Tuesday and had Michael for the second time since I went there, he remembered me despite the only other time I’ve been in having been 2 months before, he was really friendly and helped show me different ways I could style my hair or options I could do with it and he understood exactly what I wanted to do with it and gave me an amazing haircut, as I have got curly hair it shapes differently depending how it dries so I found after a few days, a little bit of my fringe was just curling on one side which it hadn’t been doing when I was in the hairdressers, I called them up and asked if they could just take that tiny bit back so that both sides behave the same and they got me sorted same day with no complaints, I cannot recommend them more and I plan on going back to Michael every time I need a haircut

Fantastic experience: went two days ago for a haircut, and I can confidently say it was the best barbershop I have ever been to. I was consulted on the best products to use for my hair, the way in which they cut my hair to best style it, and any questions I had; they answered them with great detail, and the staff were really friendly. 10/10 would definitely go back.

Fantastic experience: Had a haircut and beard trim yesterday from Maty 5 star service and all round great guy extremely happy with the cut and beard trim. Attention to detail was amazing and all products used on my hair and beard are of high quality and smell amazing not just the cheap stuff like you find in some barbers you can tell these guys take their time to find the best products for clients, I really like that with the beard balm I was offered a few different options and allowed the time to smell them all it really is the small things that make the difference. Felt extremely welcomed from all the staff in the shop from the moment I stepped in. Really nice atmosphere and decor is amazing. Looking forward to my next appointment! Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: Been going to Sink & Anchor since December 2023 to see stylist Ryan. This guy was recommended to me by a friend and boy he is a great guy. This place has such a welcoming atmosphere and all the boys are great. My stylist Ryan got me in the seat and after a consolation with him on the style I wanted he gave me some great hints and tips on how to style my hair but also the product to use. This was a great experience and I have been going ever since to see Ryan and the boys. If you haven't been, get yourself along and you will not be disappointed. 10/10

Positive experience: I'm not in the UK often, and so rely on reviews for services when I'm back. I don't think the reviews here reflect reality. I needed a beard trim, something I get regularly abroad. I found my experience here to be similar to other UK barber shops - over priced ,over promising and poor quality. While the barber was friendly and the atmosphere good, I am used to better , higher quality service in the EU for less money.

Fantastic experience: Walked in, bit apprehensive - all the barbers had very modern cuts and mine's a little more traditional. But I need not have been so worried - incredible and well worth the money. By far the best barbershop I have been to and considering the level of service, well worth the price. Ruari had great conversation, very attentive and took the vision I had in mind and ran with it. He was like an engraver to a stone - looking forward to my next cut. Great service!

Negative experience: went in for a trim the other day and booked online with ryan. I asked for a mid fade and about a cm cut from my fringe. The fade wasn’t evenly cut, with one side being higher than the other. He took about 3-4cm off my fringe and left a chunk of it uncut and left at its normal length. A great and friendly atmosphere but at the end of the day for £20 ( students piece) a barber should do a lot better than this, overall not impressed.
