Negative experience: I booked an online appointment for a $30 haircut with Mark. When I arrived, another barber brought me to the chair. I mentioned I was there to see Mark, and he assured me that was fine and proceeded with the cut. That was confusing. I want to be clear. The barber who cut my hair did an excellent job. He was attentive, checked in multiple times, offered options, and clearly takes pride in his work. One of the best haircut experiences I’ve had from a service standpoint. Where things became confusing was at checkout. Mark (the owner) handled the billing. I also purchased a Gravity Two-Phase Conditioner, which I later saw retails online for around $15, so I expected a reasonable in-store markup. During checkout, Mark mentioned he was “moving numbers around” to give me a deal, but I left paying $85. I didn’t receive a clear breakdown of how the price went from a $30 haircut and a $25-ish conditioner haircut to that total, and I didn’t feel comfortable questioning it in the moment. When I asked about the product ensuring I was using it correctly. He responded “if you’re using it correctly.” I gave Mark three scenarios. Same response. I’m happy to pay for quality work and good products, but transparent pricing and clear communication at checkout would make a big difference. Adding insult to injury telling me you’re breaking it down giving me a deal. No thanks. The haircut itself was great . I just wish the billing process had matched that level of professionalism. I’ll be going elsewhere from now on. I have receipts.

Fantastic experience: South’s Master Barber Mark is the only barber in Windsor I go to when I need a cut. He is the most consistent and detailed barber around, no question. The prices here are super competitive too. They charge less than most other “quality” barbers when they could easily charge more.

They specialize in haircuts with a whole sidewall of child toy/cartoon type chairs and the other side is attractive chairs for adults. Mark did a great job on my senior haircut that my wife loved when I got home. Their pricing is right in line with First Choice so South Barbershop will now be my go to shop and they are open on Sundays later that most!

They always make him laugh—and honestly, they make us laugh too. We’ve never been to a place that’s more perfectly tailored to kids. From the special animatronic cars to watching his favorite shows, they truly make the whole experience fun and positive. Even when he gets nervous (especially with the buzzer), they are so attentive and reassuring. We appreciate them more than we can say for making his barber visits something he actually enjoys. Fantastic experience: I brought my two and a half year old here, and he's a difficult one. They put on a movie and he was in a little truck. Amazing haircut for him and by the end he didn't want to leave. I also got a cut and it was excellent and they watched my little guy the whole time. Highly recommend for anyone with little ones.

Fantastic experience: I saw South Barbershop advertised online and noticed all of the fun amenities they had to entertain kids during a cut. We have been struggling with hair cuts for our two year old. I booked to online Thursday night to go Friday morning first thing, which was perfect. My son didn't shed a tear! He LOVED sitting in the excavator and watching his favourite tv show. The barber's skill was truly amazing to watch, he wanted to be so precise with the stylish cut which was more than I even expected on a child. He spent 45 minutes on my son, rewarded him with a sucker and got out some fun purple hairspray at the end as well. He didn't want to accept my tip but it was well deserved. I will definitely be back with both of my son's next time around. I highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: This barbershop is doing a great job, and the people working here are really kind. The place looks very nice and clean, they have cars for little kids to sit in and watch TV during the cuts. If anyone has had a bad time here then they haven’t done their research before coming. Everyone has different skills, but they definitely have someone tailored for each need. Just call ahead of time if you have special requirements for your cut so they can assign the right person for you. They are generally great, and if you have a negative experience then that’s on you. I brought my toddler and normally he does better with female staff, but the male staff was so friendly he had no issue.

Positive experience: I always bring my 6 year old son here to get his haircut, the haircuts are always good I have no complaints, but they are open until 8PM on Sat. night I made an appt. for 730PM when we got there my son had already picked out which vehicle he wanted to sit in this time, he's done 3 of the 5 so this time he wanted the Lamborghini. He got in and it didn't work. So he got out and went into the digger even though he's been in it before. One of the barbers plugged the Lamborghini in to charge when my son got out. Once again the digger didn't work either, nothing moved. Well he just sat and watched a show but I could tell he was disappointed 2 of the vehicles he got into didn't work. I understand they need charging to work so in between clients those cars need to be plugged in. Just because my son was the last client on Sat. night doesn't mean he shouldn't get the vehicle he wanted and it work properly. Please have these vehicles plugged in and working for these kids. He was disappointed and now he says next time I need to call and ask them if the cars are working or he doesn't wanna go.

They interacted with my son the entire time and made him feel comfortable. My son loved the interactive jet he got to sit in, while watching Paw Patrol. We will definitely be back again!

Fantastic experience: I took my son Jameson here on October 31st and we had a great experience! He loved sitting in the car while he got his haircut. Usually it’s a challenge with him but this place makes it so easy! They also have a tv at each of the kid spots. We had Joe do his hair and he was so great with him! Highly recommend this place!!!! They had so much fun and the barbers were so engaging with the kids. The kindest people I have ever met. I teared up when I saw my children actually smiling and gaining confidence.
