Fantastic experience: I went to get a curly alternative haircut and Luci was FANTASTIC! She could NOT be any more sweet or welcoming as she was with me today. I chose this place because of its reputation for being safe and accepting of LGBTQ+ people and felt very comfortable. I was in desperate need of a haircut and Luci put the life back into my hair! She was incredibly gentle even with the razor and never pulled my hair once. At 3 PM on a Tuesday it wasn't busy at all and the place was very quiet, which I loved. It was my first time getting my hair cut here and I would absolutely come again!

Fantastic experience: They were behind on schedule by almost 30 minutes, but the staff is friendly and I've never been disappointed with the cut.

Negative experience: Called today to make an appointment with my regular barber. They said it was all booked and ready. Drove in from the other side of town to get there only to be told they weren't even working today, but someone else would be able to cut my hair. Not sure if this barber is trying to steal business from the other, but I will not be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Visited Vic at the barbershop for the Full Gentlemen’s Package. Started with kind pleasantries and a cold beer from the bar (a first for me, at least while getting a trim). Haircut looks awesome and the hot towel shave to finish was incredible. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Horrible hair cut, just wanted out. He messed up my hair I kept trying to correct him and he didn't seem to care and did other stuff. Been getting the same haircut elsewhere for 10+ years now and I have no idea half of what he was doing. I'm mad I paid $50 for this and it looks so bad.

Fantastic experience: The convenient location was the main reason I decided to try this barber shop, but the very capable stylists will bring me back again. In particular, I would recommend Luci Kaye who gave me a very nice cut and style today. I brought in a picture to demonstrate the look I was hoping to achieve and she used that as inspiration. She took the time to explain the benefits and correct use of a hair product to me. I enjoyed chatting with her too. The friendly and hospitable atmosphere at this barber shop is great. I was offered a complimentary drink while I waited for my appointment. Not only can you get a nice cut here, but you can also enjoy a beverage. That’s a pretty cool concept!

Negative experience: UPDATE: Just seeing James with a female friend at Boston Pizza on Friday night November 22, 2024, for the past 2+ hours here in the bar. Guess he didn’t want to get in touch all these months. Oh well. Says plenty about him as a business proprietor. Shameful really. But he’s having a very chatty and flamboyant time just the two of them. Glad for that. AUGUST 2024: I walked in having looked at the Google maps listing from the Kelcom parking lot outside. It was 1656 at the time. There was an opening that day for 1700 with Lucy. Seemed to make no sense to book online when it would be faster to move the car around the building and walk inside. I do this, go inside and nobody greets me. They’re all standing around at the bar chatting. The place was empty. Then I’m asked why I’m there meanwhile I’m standing at the barbershop entrance. I explain what the story was with wanting a simple haircut and the story with the Google booking. Instead James’ husband was very off putting as if I was lying about the availability. I was not. He then claims that someone was scheduled for 1715 which was impossible. Not for Lucy and not on Google. The next availability for her is 1830. He didn’t apologize. He didn’t offer to book me for another day. Nothing. Very rude man. If he had been a decent person I would’ve struck up a convo with him, told him about how I knew his husband James from the college, and chit chatted a bit. He must’ve been having a “bad day”. I was in need of a long term barber and would’ve loved to support the 2SLGBTQIA community. Why is this so hard to do??? Everyone is so standoffish. I had to write this in from the parking lot. Literally here right now. Photo from the car. James, feel free to reach out. But this was a BAD first impression.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time at the Barber Shop and was very apprehensive trying a new barber. My guy was out of town and I was in need of a haircut. I managed the courage and booked an appointment with Ali (Alex). This gentleman has 20yrs under his belt and can cut hair and line your beard like the best of them. The establishment is clean and the staff are very friendly. Would recommend anyone to come here. Thank you Ali and James for a wonderful experience.

Negative experience: Vic was the one who did my haircut, i have asked him just to shorten length of my hair and he did opposite of what i have asked. He changed my whole look, Very disappointing service. I would not recommend to anyone. Very very very bad service. Ppl who work there need to listen what customers are asking for.

Negative experience: Worst service and haircut I have ever had. A basic trim turned into the barber buzzing the side of my hair and then refusing to shape the top of my head after I asked him many times to clean it up but didn’t. He would then answer calls every 5 min and leave me waiting. Very very poor customer service. $30 is not worth it for someone to shave the side of your head and do nothing of what you asked. For a “scissor cut” my hair never even touched the scissors.

I believe my favourite hairstylist has found her home. I won’t be following Luci Kaye around anymore. As this place is so well suited for her. My whole family loves going to see Luci at Barbershop Bar as well. It really doesn’t hurt that Luci Kaye greets me with a wonderful drink called the Juicy Luci (no alcohol). Negative experience: I usually hop around different barbershops, and based on the positive reviews, I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the worst haircut I've had in the last two years. The result was so bad that I can't even bear to look in the mirror. I'm extremely disappointed and won't be coming back.

Negative experience: Received the worst cut today. I was scalped, she gave zero regard for what I wanted. She was more interested in chit chat than her job. When I asked what she was thinking….her response was, ‘oh don’t worry, it will grow back’. Still charged full price. Won’t be seeing Luci again, massive fail.

Negative experience: The last appointment my husband had over 6months ago we walked out. Anna was scheduled to cut his hair and after waiting for almost an hour we left.....no one told us she was running behind. She knew we were there, she was just too busy talking to the person whose hair she was cutting. My husband HAD been a client of Anna's for over 16 years. No apology - nothing. Her customer service is terrible and we will NEVER be back. She could have contacted us to reschedule but we have never heard from her. Terrible terrible service

Fantastic experience: I wish there was an option for more than 5 stars! My experience with Luci was incredible and absolutely the best experience I have ever had when it comes to getting a haircut. This meant so much more to me than just a haircut and I am so incredibly happy I found Luci. I came in with shoulder length hair and wanted a big transformation. Not only did Luci greet me with the utmost warmth and friendliness, she really took her time to have a consultation with me and really make sure she was going to give me a cut that I loved. She also took her time and communicated throughout the cut to ensure I was happy with each step. Luci was very open, communicative and receptive. Throughout my appointment Luci was so personable, friendly and down right fun! You can really tell Luci loves what she does and takes pride in not just doing hair but connecting with her clients and creating absolute art. I could not thank Luci enough for the warmth and support I was shown and I cannot say enough about the absolutely awesome haircut and overall experience! Also overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, fun and relaxed and the food and drinks were awesome. The rest of the staff were just as amazing, they were welcoming, friendly and fun to chat with.The Barbershop Bar will now be my favourite spot and Luci my favourite hair stylist!

Fantastic experience: I walked in after having driven by a million times. My son had a gala to go to in a few hours and he needed a hair cut. I had no idea if I was even allowed in as I am female. To my surprise, not only was I welcomed to sit in the bar / restaurant area, but I was welcomed with open arms. My son was treated to a coke while we waited and I enjoyed a Corona as he got his hair cut by Jonathan. Jonathan gave my son the best hair cut he had ever had and listened intently to what my son wanted. He was caring and gentle. Best hair cutting experience my son has ever had! Negative experience: Multiple wedding party members have tried multiple times to reach out to the team and the owner to book day-of groomsmen services, calls have not been returned and nothing has been booked. We were looking forward to including the barbershop as part of the day, unfortunately for peace of mind, we’ve had to change plans.

Negative experience: I truly feel badly about this review, but I hope it’s used as constructive feedback for the future. Barber was nice enough. They were the only one on staff so they’d leave for 5-10 mins at a time to bartend and book clients during my appointment. As for the haircut… the worst I’ve ever had. I showed a picture with different angles. I requested a low fade with a short, textured quiff. I only needed a little bit off the top. I ended up with a high bald fade and some sort of uneven side part. They didn’t use any guards with the shaver and I ended up with bites lines in the hair. Poor staffing, does not listen to requests, does not account for head/face shape. And the extra fee for the “lineup” and “scalp massage” is kind of a joke… they straight razor shave your neck for 10 seconds and rub your head with a hot towel for another 10 seconds. Unfortunate, I won’t be back.

I am in Windsor only for a couple of months and was trying to avoid getting my hair cut at all, but it started to look too shaggy. I relented and got an appointment with Vince, who in less than half an hour did an expert job on my hair, even covering my bald spot. A great haircut!

Negative experience: Got a haircut and beardcut from former barber Bhupinder known as BO, barber, and service was amazing. I am giving 2 stars because the owner of this place is a liar, barber found another job somewhere else and when I could not find any contact to that barber i called owner and he said i can book you with someone else as Bhupinder is training at their other location instead of giving out his number. Business perspective, i understand why he did so, but you dont need to lie ; just simply says he does not work there anymore.

Negative experience: Called to see what it would cost for a lineup and a cut. Was told there was no tenured barbers available but they have apprentices... which is fine. Then proceeded to tell me it would cost 84$ and tax... are you drunk? Why is this so absurdly expensive to get a cut and line up? Called another 3 places and they all said that's Ludacris and I would get a full spa treatment at that price. Why is this so absurdly priced? Updated: Well you're wrong and they did quote me at this price point. How dare you assume it was not one sided. It certainly was and it absolutely was absurd. This is why you immediately lost my business and it is responses like this that will continue to have me promote to go elsewhere making ill assumptions about strangers. I was specifically told all those other services would also cost extra fees. And they were NOT included in my cost for the cut. I can also see since then many barbers are no longer there. This is no surprise. Really should learn how to better respond to criticism.

Fantastic experience: Great place for a haircut in Windsor! I always book with Anna who is incredible and offers suggestions and tips. Been going there for a year and probably won't be changing that any time soon. Excellent quality and service

Fantastic experience: Great staff and friendly neighbourhood patrons. Great non- judgmental vibes for Karaoke on Sunday, Thursday and Friday. Extra bonus, the owner is VERY easy on the eyes and sings like a dream! I will definitely be back :)

Fantastic experience: This bar always feels like home. The comfortable atmosphere, kind, helpful and professional staff and all the other things in between. James has worked very hard to make this a great place to be either for a quick touch up, a full barbershop service or even just some drinks and karaoke. There has never been a time where I was disappointed in this venue for anything I've gone for. James and company - You are all awesome and I thank you for helping make my visit home even that much better.

Positive experience: Got my hair cut. There is a full bar on the premises. Bar tender was friendly (although I didn't order a drink). Barber was nice and did a great job cutting my hair. Parking at the back. Price for a haircut was a little more than the average in Windsor.
