Fantastic experience: Phat is not only an excellent 'bullshit barber' (his terminology) but has an amazing memory. I walked in with my COVID mask and he knew that the last time I was there - nearly a year ago - his wife cut my hair. Correct. He said he recognized me by my engineer's ring and remembered that my son, an engineering student, had recommended his place to me. What a remarkable memory! Oh, and he does a great job cutting hair as well! Be aware that he takes cash only and no appointments, walk-in only.

Negative experience: The cheapest haircut you’ll likely find in Halifax. But you get what you pay for. Asked for a fade and scissor cut up top but to keep length since I was growing out my hair. didn’t get a fade and both my sides were crazy uneven with most of my hair up top gone. It took him 5-7 minutes which honestly was impressive but it looked like it took that long… For 25$ I still was t too happy and won’t be going back. SUPER NICE GUY THOUGH! Just wish he’d take the time to do you hair instead of getting you out of the shop fast as possible to get a new customer coming by.

Positive experience: I had phats wife cut my air, I was anxious the whole time as it seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing, constantly asking how I wanted my hair, if this was ok if that was ok and didn’t speak good English so communication was hard. Also it didn’t didn’t look like they had anything other than a razor and scissors like other special equipments that did a great job at hair accuracy like most barbers do and didn’t vacuum or wash my hair to get rid of the hair I got all over me all day. Most barbers actually rinse and wash your hair after or give gel. My haircut wasn’t bad tho, I like it and it was cheap. but I doubt they can do anything advanced like fades or stylists you see online.

Negative experience: First haircut I received was the best I ever had. The second was the worst. Uneven, rushed, had to shave my head it was so bad. Changing my rating because it was so inconsistent. He didn't let me see the back before I left and only after my girlfriend commented did I notice the back wasn't done. He'll ask you for a five star rating which I gave and once he gets it from you he doesn't care about your business anymore. He gives out great haircuts when he's on the ball, but when you catch him on a bad day you'll end up wasting your money and looking bad. Too risky for me - will be going elsewhere.
