Negative experience: I received the worst haircut I’ve ever had! I’ve been going here for years…but this guy. He started by asking “when did you start going bald?” At the end he cut the back of my neck with the razor, didn’t apologise, and didn’t say a word. The slight fade I asked for on the sides, turned out to be more like individual layers, and clearly not even the same on both sides. Honestly, how bad it was…felt personal…and I’ve never met the guy before. I have to go and pay another barber tomorrow, to fix the butchery.

Positive experience: Barbers made it clear they didn't want to talk to me any more than was necessary. Right from the beginning they would say the minimum with downward inflections to me, and then spark up with excited conversation to neighboring barbers once I gave up. I felt quite disrespected.

Fantastic experience: I brought my elderly father in to Rex & Ross for a haircut and beard trim as he’s no longer in a position to do or organise these things for himself any longer and had become a little unkempt as a result. Not only was his visual transformation incredible, but the precision, care and attention to detail shown to him by Michael was out of this world! Dad said that in all his years he’d never had a haircut like it, as Michal allowed dad to relax into his own little world and went about his work with meticulous care. He assessed dads’ beard from multiple angles to ensure the shape was perfect, went over his neck area with a straight razor and even helped with some much needed eyebrow maintenance. It was an incredible job and dad thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much to Michael for being amazing at what he does and for giving dad an experience he’s still raving about!

Katana always does a awesome job at cutting my hair and is always nice and friendly always up for a chat. Haven’t been around world just for a haircut but have been to plenty of barbers in Geelong and Rex n Ross are definitely number 1. Only getting haircuts because of Wilfred.

Negative experience: Waited a whole week for my booking and cleared my whole afternoon for my appointment. Rocked up ten minutes late as I couldn't find the place in stormy weather (it's down a very narrow alleyway, not a storefront. Extremely hard to see from the road) and was sent away because I had longer hair and there "wasn't time" for a restyle. I was barely ten minutes behind my scheduled appt. I wasn't given the option of a restyle or a trim on the phone a week earlier when I booked, just an appointment. I didn't even want anything crazy either, just a standard cut. When I calmly refused to rebook and waste my time further the female barber was extremely rude and condescending suggesting I visit 'Just Cuts'. Extremely disappointing when all the reviews I'd read said the guys there were legends, so it a shame this woman single-handedly killed that vibe. I've visited barbers all over the world and never had such a bad experience. Don't waste your time.
