Experiencia fantástica: I enjoy and appreciate the location, the quirky, but delightful decor, the lighting and the music. I enjoy and appreciate that they don’t play the music loud as they did some years ago. And I simply enjoy the relaxed nature, never rushed, but never slow either. Also, my barber Mary is truly a delightful person and a very talented Barber. I also enjoy that I typically have never had any trouble parking right on the street very nearby. Hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself… Lol BTW, in the questionnaire part, I was asked if I was offered products to purchase. The only questionnaire options were yes or no and the truthful answer is there was no need to. My barber Mary already knew me and knew that I wasn’t a product type of person so therefore she respectfully didn’t push the products and I appreciate it her discretion, that’s the way things are supposed to work… Lol again

Experiencia fantástica: Gary is the best. He is a master of his art, and gives me an amazing haircut every time. I drive into downtown Denver from way up north just to get my hair cut from him. Furthermore, he personable, funny, respectful and an all around good human. I've been coming to him regularly for over a year, and as long as he's there, I will continue coming in just to see him. Thanks Gary. You're rad. Recognition is deserved for the rest of the staff. I've been to a lot of different Floyd's over the years, and the staff here has consistently been the most friendly and knowledgeable. It seems like a healthy group of cool people.

Experiencia fantástica: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was so grateful that Diana at Floyd’s Barbershop in Denver was able to squeeze me in while I was traveling from out of town. From the moment I walked in, I was met with genuine warmth and professionalism. As a first-time customer, the unexpected discount was a really pleasant surprise and set the tone for a great experience. Diana delivered one of the best haircuts I could have hoped for—thoughtful, skilled, and clearly done by someone who knows their craft. Along the way, we had a great conversation, and Diana was incredibly helpful in sharing insights about Denver and helping me get the lay of the land. It honestly makes it harder to leave knowing how good this barbershop is. If I lived in Denver, this would absolutely be my go-to place for haircuts. And any time I’m back in town, this is where I’ll return without hesitation. Highly recommended and super LGBTQ + friendly vibe.

Experiencia negativa: whew, this is a sad one. i’ve been going to floyd’s since i was 13, im 26 now. i’ve always loved the energy and vibe of the shops and i’ve never been disappointed with any floyd’s i visit in the last 14 years. until today. i recently started a graveyard shift, so i can only do early morning appointments. i set up an appointment at the only floyd’s near me (this location was the closest with the earliest appointment available) that had a 9 am. i live out by the airport and recently had some car trouble so i took transit an hour and a half to this location just to get my hair cut. i accidentally put a mid length layer haircut instead of long layers. which ultimately i didn’t think would be an issue, as hair stylists are supposed to be certified to cut all types of hair. my hair is thinner and just past my shoulders, never had an issue. i came in right at 9 and the man at the counter was very rude. he took one look at me and confirmed my name and said ‘Yeah you put mid length but your hair is past your shoulders so it would have to be a long layer cut’ i told him i was sorry and that was fine with me. he then went on to say ‘i don’t have anybody here who can do a long layer haircut this is why it’s important you book the right service because my long layer people won’t be here until 2 so we have to reschedule you’. the way he said it was rude and demeaning. i felt like i was being shamed for setting up a hair appointment with the mistake of putting that my hair was mid length instead of long. i explained to him 2pm wouldn’t work for me as i work graves and i needed to be asleep during the day to prepare for my shift later. then the other stylist that he said couldn’t do a long layer cut asked me ‘well how long and detailed do you want the layers? how many layers’ and i said ‘it’s honestly fine i’m just going to go home’ because i didn’t feel comfortable getting my hair cut there any longer after the attitude and rudeness the man at the desk presented me with and the fact that he stated the other stylist didn’t know how to cut my hair the way i wanted. i’m not sure why they’d be able to cut mid length layers and not long ones being an entire hair salon that has close to 5 stars. i get some people specialize in cuts and such but having people there who don’t know how to cut shoulder length hair with some layers is actually baffling. on top of that, being rude and condescending to somebody who traveled an hour and a half out of her way is really sad. he gave me cards for other hair dressers and i took them out to be polite but had no interest in coming back after the encounter i experienced. i just came in for a haircut after a 12 hour night shift and then left feeling sad and defeated because of the energy from just the man at the desk. pro tip: don’t be rude to people who come in for a service because YOU didn’t have someone there who was comfortable cutting long layers. i would like to state the other hairstylist seemed so sweet and polite, i felt horrible he was blatantly saying she didn’t know how to cut layers, made me feel like he was putting her down in front of me and the male customer that was there, which isn’t professional or appropriate. i won’t be going to this location again and i think y’all should really take this into account that everyone is human living the human experience and we should all be kind to each other. the energy i received this morning from the male stylist working was beyond that. i hope all of your stylists don’t treat everyone like the man at the front desk did. do better , please. ~sincerely, a woman who just wanted her haircut

Experiencia negativa: Got there 5 minutes early, just for the barber (Gary) to say I “scheduled my appointment wrong” when I've been doing that the exact same way since I’ve started going there and then turned me away because he “didn't have time” after he was already running 10 minutes late. To say this was disappointing and infuriating is an understatement.

Experiencia negativa: Came in and ask clearly for a low fade. Quickly realized I was not getting a low fade in yet was getting a super high fade. I am all, but to the scan other than a very top of my head. Highly disappointed won’t be back but I guess with my super low low cut I won’t need to for a while

Experiencia positiva: Had a booked and confirmed appointment for Labor Day. An hour before the manager calls to cancel and say they were closed even though system allowed me to confirm a day before. Manager told me to let them know times to reschedule for which I did. Never heard back from the manager

Experiencia negativa: Had an appointment at 1:30pm with the manager of the shop. I saw her previous but didn't not expect I would be treated like this. I checked in 15 minutes before, and few minutes later manager herself told me someone else would serve me. I was dumbfounded about it, did I do something wrong? She ended up taking a walk in and I didn't know when I would be helped. So I just walked out and left. I've been coming to this location for a few years and never got this type of service. I supposed Floyd's doesn't want my business anymore.

Experiencia fantástica: I had an awesome experience from start to finish. I booked my appointment same day last minute and I got Dana. Dana provided the most efficient and best haircut I’ve ever received. She took her time to pay attention to detail and it still didn’t take her long to do my cut absolutely perfectly how I wanted. 15/10 would recommend this barbershop and Dana specifically. Experiencia negativa: The stylist I constantly went to did fine cutting my hair short for a year or so, but I grew out my hair for a half-year and wanted to keep it long. I told the stylist to keep it long and to just trim maybe a Centimeter off. All my progress is now gone.

Experiencia negativa: Update 05/03/25 yet ANOTHER appointment made, I even got a phone call asking me to confirm. I get there in time and made to wait AGAIN after my appointment time. It’s beginning to feel personal and I will no longer be coming to this Floyd’s again. This establishment has no concept of appointments and time management. I would go elsewhere if you value your time. This makes the second time I've booked an appointment at this location and left due to having wait paste my appointment time. I don't believe this location understands how appointments work. I recommend going elsewhere for a haircut

Experiencia negativa: I hate to say it but I wouldn’t trust a hair on my body with the staff here. I went for a beard trim and left so hideously uneven that I shaved my entire face to save me the embarrassment of looking the way they let me leave. The higher ups were kind enough to refund my money for the butchery but I hope you save your money and hair and go to Stan’s a couple blocks over of Barber X across town.

Experiencia fantástica: I visited Babershop on Denver Broadway and was blown away by their sick skin fades. Every barber there knows exactly how to deliver a clean cut that is rare in these parts. The vibe was super chill and the service, great across the board. I’d definitely recommend Barbershop if you want an awesome fade in a laid-back setting.

As a queer woman with a short hair style, I often find it's hard to get the hairstyles I want at regular hair cutters because the stylists have some weird block or fear around committing to a masculine look for women. Experiencia negativa: I took my 12 year old here for a kids cut and the stylist didn't listen to his the whole time he was sitting in the chair, cut off more than he wanted and left him frustrated and in tears. How dare her tell me that I should have been sitting next to him to help out. How about you listen to you customers when they say they want a certain cut. It was very specific and he even gave you detailed instructions. You ignored them and did what you thought he wanted. Won't be back. Can't believe they only offered a $5 discount. It should have been free.

Experiencia negativa: I've been going to the Broaday location since 2014. Over time, there have been lots of new faces, and unfortunately, a steady decline in consistency of cuts. Since the stylists I used to see regularly have moved on, I've tried a number of different stylists to find someone I like. While there are a few people that are solid, I've had my share of bad haircuts in recent years. However, the bigger issue I have is that it is rare to ever get in at the time of my scheduled appointment. No joke, in the last 2+ years, I can't recall a single time I've waited less than 5-10 minutes and in more than few cases, about 15-30 minutes. I'm a busy professional, and my time matters to me, but it's clear that it doesn't matter to Floyds. What's the point of taking appointments if you're always behind. Also, I appreciated the call to let me know you were running late, as I was literally about to walk on the door (insert sarcasm). They did comp my cut since i was visibly frustrated, which i appreciate and will give them another chance. Nonetheless, I'm close to giving up on Floyds.

Experiencia negativa: This is so sad… I went on Tuesday to get a haircut cut.. I showed her pictures and videos of I wanted. And had a very bad experience in this place. I don't know if all stylists are like this, but the woman who cut my hair (an older woman with blue in her bangs and glasses) I showed her images of what I wanted, something very simple and she left me with some very ugly layers, I think it's the ugliest haircut I've ever had in my life... I feel like I can't do any hairstyle and it affected my self-esteem. I don't feel comfortable and I don't know what to do to fix it.

Experiencia negativa: The last two times I’ve called to make an appointment they have messed it up, either they don’t schedule me with the correct person I’m specifically coming here for or they schedule me for the wrong time, which has made the whole experience a nightmare. I drove an hour to come here for the stylist but this place just can’t do simple tasks like scheduling and has wasted my time for the last time. I will not be coming back, I recommend you don’t either.

Went to get my haircut yesterday and my “stylist” was telling me how places like great clips are making their stylists give 9 min haircuts!?Then she races through my haircut not listening to me!? Experiencia positiva: It's honestly a total mixed bag at this location because, really, I have had very very good experiences here for the most part, but today I had a pretty terrible one. During the haircut, the person literally turned me away from the mirror and carried out the entire haircut so that I could never see anything that they were doing or offer any feedback because I couldn't see what I looked like. I've never had that happen before ever. Plus, the last few people who have cut my hair here have said that they would record a number (as in length) on my profile, but it seems like they never did (because today's person couldn't find it). Plus, they sent me out the door with this super majorly extremely wet-looking severely mussed up hair with I-don't-even-know what kind of product in it. I was kind of embarrassed to walk out on the street like that, to be honest. It was really mortifying. I would think that just out of pure PR, self-interest, etc., you would not want people walking out of your establishment looking like that. I would say overall that some people here are very good but others are...not.

Experiencia fantástica: Always arrive feeling welcomed, always leave feeling satisfied. Never had a bad experience at Floyd’s. The stylists/experts are always professional, friendly, and receptive to feedback. Your barber wants to understand what you envision for your hairstyle. They’re committed to executing and bringing that vision to life. Experiencia negativa: Kind staff accommodated me after accidentally booking at the wrong location, unfortunately it was the worst hair cut I’ve ever had. 20 year old stylist with clearly little to no experience, more concerned about keeping up bone dry conversion that focusing on the cut. Asked every 2 mins repeatedly “does this work for you” ? Nightmare

Experiencia positiva: Feeling a bit frustrated leaving my appointment today. The hairdresser was so rough with my hair that I left with a pounding headache from all the pulling on my head. Despite multiple attempts to say that this was painful and to be more gentle, these concerns were still not respected. I also left with dye stains all over my forehead and there was little attempt to remove this from my skin. I have been coming to this barbershop for a while now but honestly don't know if I'll return after this experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Review for Natasha (TLDR: Book her for communication, attention to detail and expertise!) After getting FOUR haircuts in 2-3 WEEKS (at other places) by TWO people (two attempts were follow-up fixes) I was honestly about to give up and accept that my hair wasn't the way I wanted it and not executed very well. I was tired of trying new people and seeing how they would do with my thick, wavy, hard to tame (thanks cowlicks!) hair... My chiropractor recommended Natasha and she was incredible!!! She was patient with me as I explained what I knew (and wasn't sure about) what I wanted and asked me clarifying questions to be sure we were on the same page. I never felt rushed. I felt confident by the time she started cutting my hair (and honestly even before then since my chiropractor's hair looks great- shoutout to Dr. Jeff at Moving Body Chiropractic in Cap Hill!) that I knew I was going to get a nice result. She knew exactly what I wanted (and how the other two folks didn't understand that I didn't want bulk sitting on the top of my short haircut....) and executed it with precision! I am extremely happy with the results and look forward to seeing her the next time I haircut! Book with Natasha... she's extremely good at her profession and has amazing communication skills! Thank you, Natasha!!!!

Experiencia negativa: I scheduled an appointment for a cut (in an attempt to respect the worker's time and mine). Showed up 10 minutes early. Waited 40 minutes w no sign of me getting a cut soon. I had to go bc I had a work appointment in 30 minutes. Floyd person on text asked me a sassy rhetorical question “I’m sorry but did you want me to go stop her cut to get you in?” lol. Honestly funny but why the sass. They could’ve just warned me when I arrived that I would be waiting longer than 20 minutes. Then I would’ve rescheduled. The person on the phone showed no signs of actually respecting me or my time. They showed no signs of accountability either. Floyd’s was my favorite place to go and now it’s the last place I want to go. Why go where I’m not respected. I gave them honest feedback and they didn’t take accountability and showed a lack of respect to others. Not a good business strategy.

Experiencia negativa: Went in and there was a lady at the front desk and the place was otherwise empty. She said the only girl on staff was in back on lunch and was booked. I asked the front desk lady to ask the barber if she’d buzz my head real quick for a $20 tip. Front desk lady flat out refused to get off her butt and even ask the barber. I’m not an economist but it would seem someone working at a low mid level chain barber might be inclined to take up that offer…

Experiencia negativa: The irony is they rarely take walk ins but cannot keep appointment times. Twice now I’ve waited nearly thirty minutes over my allotted time. Also you’re paying $35 for a $20 haircut, not worth it. Go to Semion, they’re way better.

Experiencia negativa: Had an appointment in the afternoon yesterday, and the stylist called in.. however, no one let me know. I was a bit frustrated because I raced down there from up north only for the receptionist dude to tell me they'd been trying to call me. Only, NO missed calls, NO voicemails. Super unprofessional. And it was super slow at the shop so I feel like someone could have gotten around to letting me know so I didn't plan my day around it.

Experiencia negativa: Very unprofessional, this was this 2nd Floyd's 99 Barbershop that wasted my time, by me sitting around at home waiting for an appointment that was never going to happen. They should be honest and say we have no one that dose black peoples hair. No one had notes in my account on what type of hair I have or anything so of course when i called close to the appointment time no one wanted to do my hair. Guess it's official Floyd's 99 Barbershop is just for WHITE people Sad I used to go to them all the time now I can't. Colorado just isn't what it used to be.
