Negative experience: Had to get my head shaved. Only way to fix the garbage medium fade that was started. Guess I’m starting the New Year “fresh”. First off, I scheduled an appointment two or so days ago. I show up, 10 minutes early or so, tell Arthur I have an appointment. He tells me he’s got someone next… that’s kinda low, considering I had an appointment. But “ok” guess that’s how they roll. I get called by the next “barber”. About half way through the cut, it starts looking really off. Long story short, I tell him to shave it all off. You can’t fix this garbage. For the record, I paid for my cut and tipped. Just the kinda guy I am. Maybe other barbers there are more professional. Idk. Mine was stupid. So now I have to write a negative review (which I don’t do). Have a nice New Year…

Fantastic experience: I don’t think I’ve left all but 2 Google reviews but this one is special! The Barbery is my go to spot for weekly beard trims and haircuts. Both KC and Arthur are pros and it never fails I come out looking and feeling like a million bucks. They have great pricing compared to local spots in Scottsdale and Phoenix. KC knows your style preferences before you sit in the chair. I couldn’t recommend them any higher.

The haircut I got wasn't really the one I wanted, but to be fair I also didn't speak up when my barber started cutting hair I didn't want cut. Amazing haircut, just not the one I wanted. Fantastic experience: I just had my first haircut here with Arther. He did a great job. He asked me what I was looking for. I explained that I was transitioning to longer hair from a very short style. He did the whole cut with scissors. Everything came out very even and just the right length. I’ll be returning!

Fantastic experience: I move around a lot but if I’m within a few hours of Scottsdale I’ll always come here. Friendly people, family business, and always a solid cut. Any other place I’ve been has taken a few times to get the right cut, but Arthur does it right the first time every time. And it’s affordable!! I want them to charge more, the location and inflation would justify it, but I’m glad it’s appropriately priced. I even came here specifically to get my cut before my wedding. Thank you Arthur and KC for the cuts, it’s gotten me more ladies than I deserve over the years.

Fantastic experience: I found this place on groupon and have been back every month since. My son loves it and won't let anyone else cut his hair except his "stylist". I tried a straight razor shave and they took their time and did a great job. The owners come from multiple generations of barbers and pride themselves on the family tradition. They are very nice, professional, and do a great job on both kids and adults. As an added bonus, my wife is always happy with the result which is unusual.

I stay away from chain service providers and prefer local owned businesses. KC was great. She took time to understand what I was looking for in a haircut. She took notes so that subsequent visits she was prepared. Each time she has asked if we should do something different. Reasonably priced and friendly vibe. And a very nice haircut.

Negative experience: Had a number of issues with Maria today 1) showed her a photo, and she got pretty close on the first cut, but I wanted my sideburns shorter. She ended up cutting my whole head shorter before I could say anything, and now my hair looks nothing like the photo. I suspect there are communication challenges because she must’ve thought “sideburns” meant the entire side of my head … but I don’t know why she also cut the front too then. 2) she was very aggressive with dusting and wiping my face. Poked me in the eye once and washed all the sunscreen off my face when I was getting shampoo. Don’t understand how it’s acceptable to wash someone’s face without asking. Imagine if you washed off all the makeup off a woman who was just expecting a hair wash. 3) Biggest problem I had was being charged $8 extra for long hair. My hair was initially just barely touching my ears, not even covering them. I was never told before we started that my cut would be charged extra, and I have never been considered long hair at any other salon at this length. This plus the fact that the default tip percentages on their iPad start from 25% and upwards just left the worst taste in my mouth. I wanted to be respectful in person and didn’t say anything, but this has really bothered me since realizing that I paid over $45 for a 4/10 haircut and shampoo at a surprise rate. They need to either warn customers they want to charge for long hair or have posted standards for long hair. I feel like I got scammed as a first time customer.

Fantastic experience: Had my hair cut by Maria twice, once with an appointment and once as a walk-in. Great job both times, the hairstyle was approved by my very discerning spouse, and Maria was attentive to detail. Despite walking in at a fairly busy time, the wait was short. Nice neighborhood barber shop atmosphere and close to everything.
