Negative experience: Lauren gave me the worst haircut I have ever had. I even showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she completely disregarded it and gave me a middle part, not even close to what I showed her. I am not sure how she has her cosmetology license. Will never be coming back here. If zero stars was an option, that’s what I would have given.

Negative experience: Used to be a good spot, not surprised turnover has been so high. $40+ for a haircut(aka a chop job). Had to go to a different place to get it re-cut. Plus, $10 for a neck trim is wild too, takes 3 minutes and staff asks for a tip....

Fantastic experience: I called them asking for availability on a Friday afternoon and they got me in within 2 hours. I was hesitant to get a Bald Fade because of another review on here I read from just a few months prior to this, but Janee did a fantastic job. She did an actual bald fade, and the conversation was great as well. She was happy to make any changes and adjustments I asked for during the cut, and I was very happy with the results. Highly recommend Janee for a Bald Fade, and when I'm in Charlotte next I'll be back for another one!

Fantastic experience: Online booking was a breeze. I'd been procrastinating getting a haircut for quite a while, so one day I woke up and decided I needed a haircut TODAY. I booked a last-minute same day appointment and was in a chair within the next hour. I booked with Leah C. and she was great! I showed her pictures of my past haircuts and she was able to replicate it with ease. She was very detail oriented, occasionally checking in with me to make sure the end result was perfect. Overall a great experience, will definitely be coming back the next time I need a haircut!

Fantastic experience: Request for Amelia she’s there Tuesday Wednesday Friday and Saturday. Has helped me over three appointments grow a Mowhawk fade and it’s flawless literally. I’m a hairstylist myself and I’m picky and she’s detail oriented.

Fantastic experience: My barber was Timmaree and she was punctual on the dot for my scheduled appointment. She was very quick, yet highly meticulous and paid attention to detail. Since it was my first time, it took slightly longer than the allotted 30 mins because Timmaree kept making sure she was cutting it how I liked it, which I greatly appreciated. Timmaree was extremely professional and warm, and made me feel like a regular on my first visit. Also, the hot towel razor neck shave was extremely relaxing X)

Negative experience: Heard a lot about this place but was very disappointed by the actual experience and haircut. The stylist was nice but really did a bad job with my haircut. I actually think I need to get another one tomorrow. It is that bad. They should not charge so much unless they want to give an actual haircut guys can be happy with. It is a rip-off imo.

It's in a pretty accessible location so it's not a bad idea to plan to go grab some food after your haircut or before. I definitely would recommend it.

Negative experience: I had a great haircut experience with Nicole. It was taken care of with good attention to detail, but I’d still rate this 2 stars and not 5. First, the haircut was amazing, but ruined the neck line I asked for, and they make you pay 5 bucks more, which is fine, but it should come with some focus. Second, yeah I’m a brown guy. She started the conversation asking me how was Diwali? I think it’s always polite to ask a south Asian person where they are from, instead of making a conclusion.

Negative experience: Nice haircuts and friendly staff , but they offer extra services online but only let you make an appointment for a haircut. So if you try to walk in you’ll be unable to use any other services because you don’t have an appointment. Update: just got another haircut here and had a bad experience. When the barber was trimming my neck they were doing so careless less and caught my shirt a few times. They then said my haircut was done without asking if I liked it and didn’t even show me the back of my head. I had to then ask for some changes as my hair was inconsistent and puffy. I could tell the person did not want to do any re-work as anything I asked for would be done with in two seconds. It just felt that they wanted to rush me out. My haircut was done within 20 minutes.

Fantastic experience: Was in town for a concert and needed a fresh cut. They were able to get me in the day I got in town. It was immediately apparent that Nicole cared about her work with the attention to detail that she paid to my hair. I wish I lived in this town so I could come back to have her cut my hair again and again.

Negative experience: Staff was very friendly, haircut came out nice. I have to give them 2 stars because my eye got severely infected afterwards. Dr. said it was more than likely due to unsanitary products as I have no allergies. :(

Fantastic experience: Been here for the past 4 years since it was close to where I live. Moved since but this will still be my go to spot. For the past 3 years I always get a cut style and beard trim from Timmaree (who I 100% recommend) but I've never had a bad cut from anyone else. Since COVID you can book appointments online so if you want a cut from Timmaree this will be your best bet since she's often times booked up.

Fantastic experience: I treat my barbers the way I treat my tattoo artists. I only trust the best, and they're both very short lists. I desperately needed a haircut while in NC on a FEMA deployment and this place had good reviews. Now I see why! The shop has a great feel and environment. Erica cut my hair, and at the end, it looked amazing. Definitely worth the trip.

I'm a big fan of the new schedule online option. There's a lot to worry about in the world but a haircut isn't one of them if you're going to The Cut.

I didn't want to cancel my appointment, so I had to pay the girl with cash and she had to put it on her own card. Just annoying. Last time I'll come here. The haircut was good, and the location is great for me, however I'll just to back to The Man Cave in the future. They're $5 cheaper for a haircut anyway, also Uptown.

Negative experience: First off, when the website tells you that parking is 123 Church St, they fail to tell you they will not validate your parking and you will be paying $10 extra for parking. Second, when you ask for a fade that is super super short you will receive a buzz cut more or less, so not a fade at all. And finally, we are cutting hair, and if I ask for a hard part I fully expect you to remember and not have to remind you. I paid $30 plus the $10 parking, and left a $6 tip cause I work service industry - $46 total. For $30 I would expect a lot better service than I received, and at the very minimum have gotten a hard part like I asked. Go to Pablo’s! Haven’t went yet, but judging by his website this is the man you want giving fades, etc.

Great atmosphere and good service. However, they don't take appointments, but you can call ahead if your stylist is on the clock.

Fantastic experience: Timmaree does a great job every time. The atmosphere is very relaxed, you can grab a beer if you’d like. They have an online check-in system to get in the list so you don’t have to just show up and hope it isn’t a two hour wait. I’ve been going here for almost 5 years now and even though I no longer work uptown I still make the trek to get my cuts here.

Fantastic experience: I've been in Charlotte for over a year and a half and have relied on the The Cut for my haircuts since arriving. It is close, convenient with on-line check in and always a solid haircut. For three of my visits, including today's, Liz has been the stylist and I've got to say she the the most consistently thorough of any stylist I have ever had cut my hair. And yes, we all need to get our eyebrows (and other "old-man" stray hairs) trimmed -- she just makes sure you walk out looking your best. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: You're going to pay a premium price, but will get your money's worth in the quality haircut. Great atmosphere. It was kind of a pain to get there with all the construction in downtown but still worth it.

Negative experience: New to Charlotte, so I called in to make an appointment. Well they do not take appointments, walk-ins only. For the price they charge you cannot claim to be a high end barber shop and expect people to just walk in and wait several minutes for a haircut. I work 9-5, I do not have time to just sit around and wait. This is a ridiculous model and way of doing business especially if you are targeting uptown business professionals. Most barbers would prefer a set book of times, not having to depend on walk-ins, and most customers would rather come in, get a cut, and not have to sit and wait. I see below where the owner has responded to my review. Well I do not need an explanation for how it works because you cannot call in the morning for an afternoon haircut, you have to monitor their website, if it gets close to the time you want (lets say 6 PM) and they are busy around that time frame, then you are out of luck. You should be able to call in or book online, request an appointment for the time that fits your schedule, not theirs and move on with your day. Why not just take appointments? What is the reasoning for not doing that. Makes absolutely no sense.
