Fantastic experience: Billy Senior and Billy Junior are just plain awesome guys. I know Billy Junior personally, and if heaven exists, they are both going there some day. Junior has helped me tremendously on a personal level and gives a fast, clean cut. I love chatting it up with those guys. They do a lot of kid cuts, too. The Boston Spirit is strong with these two. Warm spirits for sure. On that note, the AC is ALWAYS nice there. I can't recommend them enough. Give them a shot. Thanks for being a pal, Billy!

I walked in with my kids, and from the second we stepped through the door, Billy made us feel genuinely welcome. He’s one of those rare people where you can tell the kindness is real — when he asks how you’re doing or tells you to have a great day, he truly means it. Billy was great with my son. He gave him a fantastic haircut, but more than that, he actually took the time to talk with him, listen to him, and make him feel comfortable. Watching how naturally he interacted with all the kids in the shop, it was obvious that they genuinely bring him joy. The atmosphere is something special. Every person who walked in was greeted by name, and you could feel the mutual respect and happiness between Billy and the community around him. It didn’t feel like a barber shop — it felt like a family gathering. Somehow, he makes you feel like part of that family instantly. Little details stood out too — like a Christmas tree decorated with Hot Wheels, and Billy letting the kids pick one to take with them. It’s those thoughtful touches that say everything about who he is. Beyond being an excellent barber, Billy is just an exceptionally good human being. Kind, genuine, and deeply rooted in his community. If you’re looking for a great haircut and an even better experience, this is the place. I can’t recommend Billy’s Corner Barber Shop enough.

Negative experience: Disappointed as I called hours in advance to see if I could come in later (between 5:15 and 5:30 as I get off work at 5) and when I arrived they had locked the doors, and were just flipping the sign to “closed” even though they saw me through the window. 30 minutes before closing, yes, but this is why I CALLED ahead and tried to make an appointment. Very unprofessional, will not be back to even try.

Fantastic experience: Billy Jr is the man. Was having a problem with my card and he just told me to pay him back on the next cut, that was extremely cool of him. Also, he’s a rock star with the clippers.

Fantastic experience: I've been getting haircuts for almost 75 years now and I must say, until I come back to St. Pete...no barber will surpass the cut I got from Billy! I was a simple walk-in and any other barber to a 'stranger' would have seen that as a quick 5 minute job...but not Billy. When I left, my wife sitting on the bench outside said that was the best my hair has looked since...she couldn't remember when. It's was a pleasure sitting in your chair and chatting while you made me look great. Thanks hardly says it all...so thank you so much and hopefully we'll meet again and you can cut my hair.

Fantastic experience: My spouse and I are snow birds for this first time this winter and were a little anxious about having to find a barber in St. Pete. We read reviews and settled on Billy's Corner Barber Shop. We called ahead and talked to Billy Jr. and he let us know when we could take two of us. We each got a great cut and good conversation. He made us feel at home away from home and did a great job with each of our haircuts. We've been back and are really happy with the no BS friendly service from Billy Jr.

Negative experience: I came to Billy’s for 8 years. I will not return. Hers’s why. Saturday, 2/1/2025 Mike and I walked into the shop because we had an appointment with Omar, my barber of 6+ years. Omar was not there. He was on vacation and had not called me to cancel the appointment. Mike walked to the car. The owner of the shop, Billy Senior, said he could squeeze us in. I said to him we could find another place. The last time Omar did not show up, we had to wait over an hour to get squeezed in by Billy senior. I contacted Omar. He apologized for missing the appointment. He said he could get us in Tuesday 2/4/2025 at 330p. We went to the shop for the appointment. Mike arrived first. He sat near Omar’s station. Out of nowhere, Billy Junior (the owner's son whose station is next to Omar) accosted Mike telling him it was time for Mike to find another barber. [“Accosted” means to be approached or confronted by someone in an aggressive, threatening, or unwanted way.] Billy Junior did not stop telling him to shut up and maybe it was time to get another barber. When I arrived, Billy Junior continued to accost Mike: shushing him, repeating things over and over. When Mike tried to explain to me what was going on Billy Junior accosted both Mike and I telling us we needed to shut up or he would get us out of there. Billy Junior did this in front of customers, Omar and the whole shop. We have no connection with Billy Junior. Mike and I moved to the next room to talk. Mike said he was so uncomfortable. Mike left. Omar got to me and cut my hair and beard. Billy Junior had left the room. Omar apologized again for forgetting the appointment. When Omar finished, I asked him if he still wanted my business, and he said yes. Omar told me before that many customers were uncomfortable with Billy Junior. But Omar also said to me he had to work there. I talked to the owner Billy Senior. He said he was upset by what I said on Saturday. I apologized for hurting his feelings. Billy Senior said he was tired on that Saturday and probably overreacted. I told him that the last time he squeezed us – when Omar did not show up the first time - it had taken over an hour wait and that I did not have the time to wait. I told Billy Senior that I had enough of his son talking to Mike or me. Billy Senior said he would have a word with his son. I told Billy Senior that I had been in the shop before when he and his son would get into a shouting match across the shop. Billy Senior said he would talk to his son. Billy Senior and I agreed that none of this would have happened but for the missed appointment. I told Billy Senior that Mike would probably not be back. Billy Senior told me he would do what he could to get Mike back and acknowledged how long we had been coming to this shop and the one downtown when it existed. It ended on a fist pump and I thought everything was settled. I walked to my car. Billy Junior shouted to me and asked if everything was settled. He had followed me outside. I was startled. I responded that everything was fine between me and Omar and me and his father. I told him I didn't need to hear anything from him. He exploded and started shouting that I would never be allowed to come back. He then shouted that if I did show back up there would be a fight. That was a clear threat to me. When I headed back to the shop, he ran in and locked the door. I waited 5 minutes. I knocked on the window and Billy Senior came out for a moment. I told him what happened, and he told me he would have a word with his son. When I walk into a shop – Macy’s or anywhere – I expect it to be safe. That is not the case at Billy Senior’s shop when his son Billy Junior is allowed to accost people at will, holler across the shop with various obscenities and follow customers into a parking lot to accost them. Omar lost $840 a year. Maybe Junior can make that up.

Fantastic experience: We enjoyed our first visit today. My almost-4-year-old is high spirited. Billy Jr. gave him the BEST haircut. Normally I'm super stressed and have to engage my son, and sometimes even hold him still, the entire time. Today, Billy Jr showed true mastery of his craft. He said, "Mom, we got this," in the nicest way. He kept my son happy and in the chair, even when he was trying to crawl out. He kept him engaged with the skateboard booster and chatting him up about the show he was watching, all while giving him the best cut and SO FAST! The general atmosphere and culture here is one of family and friends. Everyone was smiling and having a great time. I will definitely recommend to everyone I know and will keep coming back.

Positive experience: Junior hasn't answered a call or text for an appointment in months. This review does not reflect badly on Sr. or his staff just his son. In the 7 years that I was a customer only Junior cut my hair. In January I made an appointment and Jr. no showed and I left without a haircut. In February I made an appointment and Jr. no showed and one of the staff cut my hair. In March, April and May I left Jr. messages and he did not return my calls so I have moved on to another barber.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Billy’s barber shop (and specifically Billy Jr) enough. I very reluctantly brought my 2.5 yr old to the shop after 2 horrible previous hair cut experiences… one at a “kid salon” 30 minute drive away and another locally at a different “typical barber shop”. I didn’t know what to expect when walking in Billy’s but both me and my son were greeted with big smiles and warm welcomes from everyone. My son immediately felt safe and excited, not his typical scared. Billy Jr was super exited to cut my sons hair - he made him comfortable by showing him his tools, propping him up high by sitting on a skateboard which my son was mesmerized by, and being sure to keep all cut hair off my son’s neck and face which always had made him the most uncomfortable previously. Billy Jr was amazing - patient, fast & skilled with the haircut, and so sweet to my little guy. His cut looks great and we will 100% be back. Also love that his cut is a “real cut” and not a “kids cut” - he gets so many compliments on his hair.

Fantastic experience: Always go to Billy’s for a haircut, been to a lot of the other places in town and there is no atmosphere like it. A lot of the other shops around here are dens for older guys or are just salons. Not Billy’s though, he gives great cuts that last a long time (I used to need one every four weeks, now I can wait up to six). Love this place, and plan to keep coming back

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this barbershop for about 16 years, better than half my life. I couldn’t have anything better to say about Billy, Jr., Danielle, Omar, and John. My cut is primarily done by Jr. or Billy, but there’s not a barbershop around that can give you a better cut than anyone here. The customer service and atmosphere can NOT be beat. You want to schedule an appointment? Great they’ve got you covered. You stroll on any at any given time, like I typically do? Not a problem they’ve got you covered. There’s not much I look forward to more than heading to the shop for a quality cut.

Fantastic experience: My boys have been coming here since we moved her in 2018. I have a 3 year old and he begs me to get a cut when I bring his older brothers in for their cuts! Billy, Billy Jr. or John usually take them as a last minute appointment or a walk in. Not only are they all extremely talented but they also are sweet to the kids and treat them with extreme kindness. They are on a mission to brighten up everyone’s day and bring the energy, especially for the little ones. All 3 of my boys are known by name and every time we come in we get a warm welcome from Danyel and Billy Jr. This barber shop is a true neighborhood gem and a place that makes St Pete feel like home for many.

Fantastic experience: Billy and his staff have been cutting the hair of my friend who has cerebral palsy ,is in a wheelchair and is nonverbal since 2017. There are not enough good things I can say about everyone there. Not only are they super patient with my friend while cutting his hair, but they also allow him to have his candy machine there and Billy calls him his business partner! We have never had a bad experience and we are so grateful to everyone there. We highly recommend Billy's to everyone, especially those who have special needs.

Fantastic experience: Billy and Jr, as well as the rest of the crew are always friendly, and go out of their way to accommodate everyone. I've never left there with anything less than a top notch hair cut. Today Billy took extra time to trim up my beard at no additional cost, despite my showing up as a walk in with little notice. It simply doesn't get better. They are American owned, small business. Zero regrets and I'll continue to come back and support them. They make every customer feel like family, ask genuine questions and would quite literally give you the shirt off their back if you needed it. Great folks, and we need more people like them

Negative experience: I want to preface this review by saying we have had multiple wonderful experiences with Omar and John. Both my husband and my two boys. But after today, we will never be back here again. And you should NOT take your kids here. Especially if they have sensory needs or if they are more on the reserved side. I walked in today with my 4.5 year old and my 2 year old. Billy Jr. approached my kids as he usually does for a high five. My 4.5 year old does not like to be touched and so he usually shys away from the high five. Billy Jr. usually makes it awkward but also lets it go. Today for whatever reason he decided to come after me and my son. My boys were picking out their suckers before their haircuts and I was going to hold them until they were done. Billy Jr. looks over and says “hey man you can’t have my sucker if you don’t give me a high five.” I thought he was joking. He wasn’t. I said my son doesn’t have to give him a high five if he doesn’t want to. He doubled down on the high five payment for a sucker. I said are you serious?? He was dead serious. I again stated my son does not have to give him a high five if he doesn’t want and certainly not for a sucker. He said and I quote “this is not a ‘sensitive’ barbershop. This is a man’s barbershop.” And proceeded to flex his arm as if to show me how “manly” he was. Are you kidding me!? At that point, I got up to walk out. I put the suckers back in the bucket because I wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. I said we’d never be back again and left. Billy Jr. is your manhood honestly so threatened by a young child not wanting to give you a high five that you have to refuse candy? Honestly think about that…because a little boy won’t touch you, you won’t give out candy. You’re sick man. Get a life. Look in the mirror. And take some sensitivity training. The whole situation makes me sick to my stomach. Good riddance.

Negative experience: Scheduled an appointment for my limited availability after work. I like to try different barbers in the St. Pete area and was super excited to go to Billy's because of the great reviews. Upon entering I waited 30 minutes before my scheduled barber took an additional walk-in client and never asked who I was nor did any other barber try and help me. Can't speak to their abilities to cut hair since I walked out with the same haircut I walked in with. I'll take by business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: The best Barber shop in town by far. My haircut experience is top notch and the expertise and techniques are amazing. But I can get a great haircut in many spits for the right price. The reason I go to Billy's Corner Barber Shop is the true compassion and transparent caring for people that has been displayed by Billy and John. Not to go into too much detail and both of these gentleman helped me out with haircuts to get me looking good for job interviews when I was in desperate need of break and was in a tough spot. They made sure I looked presentable and professional so I could put my best foot forward for my job interview. If you look good you feel good then you have the best opportunity to do good. I am a customer for life because of their humanitarian service and true honest compassion they have for their people. Fantastic experience: St Pete’s best barbershop and barber - I’ve been going to Danielle at Billy’s Corner Barber Shop for nearly 6 years. I’m not mega picky, but I do like to look good and Danielle has kept me professional and clean time and again for years. I’ve had everything from shoulder length hair to a close crop since I’ve been going to Danielle. She’s always been flexible with my style and given great advice to help me decide on my look. No matter the cut, she’s been consistently excellent. She is always available for light conversation and a good St Pete activity or restaurant recommendation. Billy has created an atmosphere that’s welcoming and comfortable for all. Billy’s has character and feels like a shop rooted in the community it serves. Billy’s Corner Barber Shop is a St Pete staple. They take pride in what they do and treat you like family with respect and no judgment. Great haircuts. Better people.

Fantastic experience: I recently got a partial shave on side of my head, and have been new to the barber experience to maintain it. Sitting in Billy Jr’s chair was an amazing experience. He’s so friendly and he opened my mind to so much and I’m so grateful. The shop is extremely welcoming and lots of smiling faces in there with a team who does a bit of everything. Everyone has a different skill they bring to the table, so if it’s not Billy’s expertise, he has someone who does!

Billy would come into my job and see it was slow and tip me extremely well, then when the place closed he gave me an EXTREMELY discounted haircut and beard trim so I could look good for my interviews. That is only one story I have of many. I've never left not looking and feeling better than when I came in. I honestly couldn't ever bring myself to go anywhere else because of the friendliness and consistency of service here with him and all of the staff. I'd give 10 stars if I could!

Fantastic experience: We just got our son’s haircut here with Billy Jr. and all I can say is WOW! What a great experience! We didn’t have to wait even though they were busy and Billy Jr. made our 3 year old laugh and smile throughout the entire haircut. He was extremely friendly (along with everyone else) and made our son feel so comfortable. The haircut was just like the picture I showed him. This is definitely where we will go from here on out. Fantastic experience: I've been getting my hair cut here for 13 years now. This place is the last barber shop you will ever need. When I first moved here to Florida long ago, I tried three different places before I discovered Billy's. Those first three places butchered me. In 13 years I have never had a bad cut here. Not one. Billy ensures that the entire staff are professionals who know how to cut. I'll be coming here for another 13 years!

Fantastic experience: Erica cut my hair yesterday and I was surprised as to how much care she took into making me look good, she went the extra mile to make sure my facial hair was lined up and was looking good to even my surprise. Fantastic experience: This is a classic barber shop in all the right ways. Locally owned and operated, family business and everyone there is incredibly polite and welcoming. On top of that, they take the time to make sure your looking your best! Billy’s been able to fit me in before a wedding or event on more than occasion saving me in photos. He is a master of his trade always able to clean up a line or stay with changing taste and style. I’ve yet to have a bad experience or bad cut here. For a local town like St. Pete this really is a local place and one I can’t recommend enough.
