Negative experience: I hate to be the first bad review in a while on here, but the guy that cut my hair (I don't think it was the owner) just did not give me a great experience. He barely listened when I told him what I wanted and even showed a reference picture, blended one side decently but then didn't do the other making it look almost like an undercut, used the clippers on my widow's peak so now it's very short at the front and doesn't match the rest of the hair, and didn't use scissors or a comb at all when I asked to have a little bit of the length taken off as a whole. Maybe it was just me and maybe I should've pushed harder for what I wanted but not even checking in about the widows peak just makes it not worth it to come back. Seen a lot of other great reviews so if you do choose the shop I hope it works well for you!!

Fantastic experience: I just recently moved to Nashville. I had not had a haircut for 3 months. I did my online research. I was particularly looking for a barber who could “tame” my big naturally curly hair. My experience with the barber shop and barber, Cecil Chisom, was amazing. Cecil was a calming and fun conversationalist. However, what I was most impressed with was his ability to not only use the clippers but also to use the shears (scissors ) as skillful as a garden manicurist. The cut was just like I wanted, and my scalp could breathe again. He trimmed my bushy eyebrows to perfection. Cecil is the man! He is a “smooth operator” (Sade). As he will proudly tell you, “I am an entrepreneur in a family-owned business with my mom and brother.” As a professional and businessman, I can appreciate his professional expertise, his calm demeanor, and soothing conversation. As I was, you will be pleased and happy with your experience. If you liked the movie Barber Shop (featuring Ice Cube) as I did, you will love this barber shop whether you are new to the area or looking for a new barber/hair stylist.

Fantastic experience: Alright so this is a really nice barbershop great place to wait. Way more comfortable on a couch than a great clips chair. Now when I asked around for an authentic barbershop this is where people pointed me. It didn't disappoint. Now as a "white feller" in the local lingo one would think I would be blown away with anything that's higher quality than great clips. But I'm from Chicago and one thing we know there is a barbershop. So this shop is hands down the authentic feel of home. From the all are welcome atmosphere to the conversations to the constant jokes back and forth this is the place. The prices are right but back home I'm used to paying much more so I hope the owner did enjoy that big tip. No sense in paying a man less than what I'm used to if the quality is there. But again let me tell you ALL are welcome. Which is something I can't say about all barbershops . I encourage you to check it out. To those of you visiting Nashville and needing a cut. Let the owner know this review is what brought you in. .... Cecil has earned my business for life when I'm in Nashville. Which is hard to do with me. But my brother treated me like family from the moment I walked through the door. To address some of the negative reviews I seen about "Caucasian" clients.... I am a white male who ENJOYED every aspect of my hair including the little touch of hair oil/spray at the end. To you white folk that do not know what that's for it's to keep all the hair from falling all over you till you can get home and shower. Please educate yourself before making a review

Positive experience: Nice environment, however please know your clientele, a Caucasian person does not necessarily want hair oil, or a boxed fade done. Yes I should have said something then but I did not want a scene. Maybe it was done intentionally since most clientele are not Caucasian...not sure but not returning.

Negative experience: Cecil was very professional, and welcoming. The quality of his work however is far from below average. I showed him the exact style I wanted. I left the barbershop with the worst. I would not professionally recommend Cecil to cut my hair or anyone else’s that I care about. I will not return to that establishment. Cecil also cuts hair extremely hard and with such force, it really wasn’t a pleasurable experience. Would not recommend.

The barber, I believe his name was Cecil, the owner, gave my husband a nice haircut. He was friendly and gave us recommendations on places to visit while in town.

I thought I knew what a good haircut was but his service and style changed what I though was possible. The prices are cheaper than what I think he deserves. Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed the experience, and Cecil is a top notch professional. Got mid fade and a shave. Lines were clean and blended just right. Shave was a combination of hand heald with straight razor and thorough. Also got ears and eyebrows trimmed. It was good to get the attention to detail, and not feel like I was being charged by the minute. Great value at a little over $40. The price of my haircut also for some reason started increasing with each compliment I got. I couldn't get my haircut before I left and have been trying to find a place that gives a solid cut since my hair was pretty bad. I found Beverly's on Google and saw it was less than 5 minutes away. I called them up to ask if there was any availability and he said "if you get here before anyone else you can be next." Hopped right in my car and proceeded to get one of the best haircuts of my life. I mean my hair was really bad, long and bushy but my man Cecil was able to get me right. If you're in need of a haircut in Nashville, you can't get any better than Beverly's.

Although I've gone to a plethora of places in TN to try and find someone who could give me professional line work, a solid beard trim, and a top-of-the-line fade, no one came close to the expertise of my NYC barbers. That is, until I met Cecil and got a professional, crisp, and fresh cut! I couldn't recommend Cecil's craftsmanship, down-to-earth personality, atmosphere, and professionality enough!
