Negative experience: I always get my hair cut by Damien Newbill, and he did a fantastic job as usual. I wish I could say the same for the employee, I believe named Nicole, at the front desk. She had a tattoo on her left wrist that read “loser”. I wasn’t offered a beverage once she checked me in, as seemed to be standard protocol for years now (I had to tell her exactly what I needed). That was forgivable, however when I was leaving, it seemed like the card reader was having trouble reading my card (Something that’s never occurred before there at Scout’s and nowhere else). Thereafter, when the card finally registered in their computer, she had the nerve to tell me that I should look into getting a new card. Nobody asked for her opinion in the matter, she just needed to do everything she could to help it process. The card works just fine everywhere else. So, great cut by Mr. Newbill as usual, but it came with an edgy attitude at the front desk that I’ve never experienced at Scout’s East, and I’ve been frequenting there for years. Hope that isn’t a regular practice moving ahead.

I do want to address the front desk concerns. Nicole’s tattoo or appearance isn’t something that reflects her professionalism, and I can assure you she wasn’t intending to be rude. Yesterday we were dealing with a company-wide system error that caused ongoing issues with our card readers and checkout process. It was a frustrating day across the board, and while that’s not an excuse, I’m sure she was a little frazzled trying to keep everything moving.

As far as the comment about your card, our chip readers can be pretty finicky, especially when the system is acting up. Her suggestion was meant to be helpful, not critical, and I’m sorry if it came across the wrong way.

We do typically offer beverages as part of the Scout’s experience, and I hate that it was missed during your visit. With everything going on with the systems that day, it was likely just an oversight while juggling the checkout issues.

We truly value you as a long-time guest at Scout’s East. If you feel Damien has continued to provide the five-star service you mentioned, we’d really appreciate you considering updating your review to reflect that. He absolutely deserves the recognition.

Negative experience: Called about hair coloring services and the woman, I think her name was Nicole, sounded very rude over the phone. It felt as though she thought I was wasting her time with my questions. I will be canceling my upcoming haircut appointment and going somewhere else.

Negative experience: When I called to reschedule my appointment time, the receptionist was very rude over the phone. In person she was just as rude and responded to my “hi” with “do you have an appointment?”. I showed up 25 minutes early for my haircut and asked if I could drink my beer on the patio, after she told me no, she did not offer the beer. I then asked her for the beer and sat inside to drink it while I waited for my appointment. 25 minutes passed my appointment time, I finally approached the receptionist and asked if I could cancel without being charged a fee. Thankfully, that was the only time she showed me kindness and didn’t charge me a cancellation fee because I waited for over an hour and left with no haircut. I understand that a wait time is common when getting a haircut at a busy barbershop, but the lack of professionalism I experienced is what has motivated me to leave this review. Especially compared to the kindness I have received at other Scouts locations, this one fell short.

Negative experience: I’ve been getting my hair cut at the east location for a few years. Went in just about once a month for a cut. This last appointment I was just a little late by about 15 min due to some traffic getting over there. I got there and they told me they canceled my appointment and charged me. The girl behind the counter told me she sent me a message to check in. I never got this message. I showed her my phone to prove that I didn’t get it but she didn’t seem to believe me. I asked if I could just get a later appointment with the same stylist. She told me no and the best she could do is get me with someone else but I would also be charged for that as well. I also could see the girl I was getting my hair cut with and no one was in her chair. I understand everyone’s time is valuable and do take responsibility for not being on time. But to charge me and want to charge me again to be able to get a hair cut the same day is just a little ridiculous. I’d understand if I was a no-show but I was just a few minutes late, it’s not a habit of mine but it happens to the best of us. Especially in a place as busy as Nashville. Lost a customer

Thank you for sharing this. I’m sorry this experience was frustrating, especially as a long-time guest.
I do want to clarify that we do have a cancellation/late policy, which has been in place for several years and is listed online at the time of booking or shared when appointments are made by phone. Arriving more than 10–15 minutes late may result in the appointment being canceled so the stylist can stay on schedule.
When this happens, the cancellation fee does apply, but we do offer a $5 courtesy discount for rebooking the same day as an effort to still accommodate our guests. Same goes for canceling the appointment within the hour.
I understand traffic happens, especially in Nashville, and I’m sorry this situation left a bad impression. We truly appreciate the time you spent with us and hope you try us out again.

Fantastic experience: Bailey was so great! So professional but also very personable and friendly at the same time. She took the time to understand what I wanted and answered the many questions I had about my cut, styling, and haircare in general. Fantastic experience: B!!! B Beswick is who you need to book for your next fade people! I have had haircuts all over Nashville throughout the years but “B” is my favorite. Negative experience: Wow. If I book an appointment 2 hours ago and then have to cancel it I get a fee charged? Sounds like a money grab to me. Especially when the barber has 4 available appointments that evening so I know it’s not a money loss for the barber or the shop - they were wide open. Used to get a cut about once a month here or once every 6 weeks now I’ll find somewhere else that’s not looking for a money grab. Thanks guys great policy of yours. PS I know this isn’t a black and white policy because I’ve called before and asked for a reschedule or cancellation within an hour of an appointment and it’s been fine. So either have the policy and enforce it 100% of the time or not at all. Because when you pick and choose when you enforce it, it feels personal. If someone wants to waive that “cancellation” fee and shoot me an email feel free. Otherwise great job enforcing the policy you guys are just doing your job (but corporate should seriously look into SAME DAY bookings being charged a fee still). Edit: Hello Toni! As I already said the appointment was made 2 hours before and the stylist still had 5 available appointments that night so don’t give me that “protect the stylists” line he was basically wide open for the night so yes it is a money grab since it was at no loss to the stylist. Thanks for the invite back but I’ll pass on returning and I’ll be recommending everyone I know to not go to any of your locations from now on especially due to how you handled this in that response. Our policy is clearly stated at booking and applies equally to everyone, regardless of how full the schedule appears. We do our best to be flexible when possible, but fairness and respect for our team’s time come first. We’re proud to stand behind a policy that values our stylists’ livelihoods as much as our clients’ time.

For transparency, you were not charged for this cancellation because the card on file declined due to being blocked by the bank for you not being present. However, if you choose to return in the future, the outstanding fee will need to be paid at the time of your next service.

Negative experience: I went to this barbershop yesterday. The lady finished my haircut and beard trim in about 9–10 minutes total. My hair was cut very badly — the back of my neck wasn’t done the way I asked, and there were several visible haircut mistakes. The service was extremely rushed and careless, and now I have to go somewhere else to fix it, which means paying twice for the same thing. Very disappointed with the result. I don’t recommend this place.

Negative experience: Disappointed with both cuts for my sons (ages 12 and 14). My 12 year-old cried the whole way home. Very overpriced for the amateur handling in both cases. Neither of my sons’ respective ages qualify them for kids cuts anymore; however, both stylists spent less than 1/3 of the time on my sons than was spent on other adult customers I observed while waiting. Hack job, rush job in both instances. My 14 year-old’s sideburns were completely taken off. When did the bar drop so low? Great Clips quality at a 200% mark up.

Negative experience: The stylist rushed my appointment and left hair in my eyes and mouth for no reason, when they clearly could have blown it off or given me a towel. This is the second time this has happened, and everyone I’ve been with seems to not take their role very seriously.

Fantastic experience: Duckie was amazing! Actively listened to what I wanted out of a short hair cut which included a 0 to 1.5 fade, clarifying where the 0 should start behind my ear which I really appreciate! I've had hair cuts go horribly wrong from that point before. They completely nailed it! I absolutely love my cut! It took less than half an hour and only cost $32. I made the appointment online for day of because the website suggested it, and managed to get in in less than half an hour on Friday afternoon. I've been coming to Scout's East for probably around a decade now and I won't be going anywhere else.

Negative experience: Nick was my barber, although he cut my sides and back well. I am extremely disappointed about the way he styled my hair. When I showed him how I want my hair to be done, I was expecting him to use a hairbrush but instead he used a comb. When I asked him to use one, he refused and I was a bit frustrated how my hair looked once I left the shop. I hope for next time, he uses a hairbrush to style someone's hair as a hairbrush is standard for styling hair and achieving maximum volume.

Some folks use a brush, others prefer a comb or even just product and hands. It really just comes down to the stylist’s technique and your hair type.

Positive experience: Scout's Barbershop did a great job overall - awesome atmosphere, attentive front desk, tasty drinks, and quality styling for sure (props to Damien on an equally great chat to go with the cut)! The only small factor to be cognizant of when booking an appointment (really at any salon or barber) is to make sure you give yourself plenty of time. I went on a Sunday and so it was pretty busy, but found myself about 30 minutes waiting prior to the fun stuff - no knock on anyone, just something to be aware of when booking (especially on busy times like weekends). All in all, great experience! Would return when traveling back through Nashville and need a cut!

Negative experience: I accidentally went to the wrong location, called right away and apologetically said I could get there in 12 minutes and that they didn’t have to wash my hair to cut the time down (i’m just doing a trim) and the receptionist suggest i “shave one minute off” of my drive to make it at 10:45 otherwise she’d have to cancel and charge me. I told her my GPS said 10:46, and asked if i was one minute past that would she turn me away and she said yes. She proceeded to charge me and cancel my appointment over a one minute difference and an honest mistake. never going here again

That said, we do have a 15-minute late policy in place to ensure our stylists have enough time to complete services without running behind for other guests. It’s never our goal to be inflexible, but we do have to uphold this policy consistently out of respect for everyone’s time, including our staff and other clients.

That said, I’ve gone ahead and refunded the cancellation fee as a one-time courtesy. We truly wish things had gone differently and hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Fantastic experience: I had been to 2 or 3 different barbers/stylists in East Nashville. I felt like they were not really listening to my requests for my haircut. Negative experience: Terrible experience. The person cutting my hair had 4 months experience, you could feel it in her lack of confidence when her hand shaked jabbing the buzzer into my skin. I told her what I wanted, she did the opposite in addition to taking too much off in the front, leaving long hair in the back and totally messed up the blend. I requested another stylist and the manager came out and was abrasively condescending. I expressed my concerns to her, all I got back was justifications about how every stylist there is equal and that I would have the same experience. She then told me I could'nt be seen for at least an hour, I said ok fine, she rolled her eyes and walked away. Terrible management skills. None of this was personal, I just wanted a good haircut. Nothing personal with the stylist, she was sweet. I highly recommend passing on this place. Very disappointed and now I get to pay someone else to fix their hack job.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. I’m sorry to hear you left disappointed. We never want that to be the case.

That said, I do want to clarify a few things. Your cut was going to be fully comped today, and we had another stylist ready to step in for the correction. Instead, you chose to leave before giving us the chance to make it right, while taking up a spot on that other stylist’s schedule and left without communicating with reception that you were going to leave.

The original stylist did not give you a “hack job”.. She followed your consultation to the best of her ability, and while she may be newer to the floor, she’s been trained thoroughly and has consistently delivered great work. I stand by her and all of our stylists, no matter how long they’ve been behind the chair. Experience isn’t measured only in months—it’s in skill, professionalism, and effort, all of which she brings to the table.

As the manager, I can also assure you I would never roll my eyes at a guest. But I will always stand up for my team when I see them being unfairly criticized. We’re here to provide solutions, not to be spoken down to, especially when our stylists are doing solid, professional work.

Fantastic experience: I recently got out of a serious relationship, and told myself that I wouldn’t date anybody for at least a year, and just focus on myself. When I came into today that was my thought process. But after Care H. cut my hair I left with not just a new haircut, but a changed perspective as well. My haircut was so good that I feel that it is almost selfish to not share myself with the world, and all it’s lonely souls. This marvelous haircut was so good that it has changed my ways of thinking. In short, the haircut was good.

Negative experience: I’ve been going here for ten years. The last couple have been so disappointing. My last 4-5 appointments have been canceled on me last minute due to their own various reason. Always last minute after I’ve worked my schedule around my appointment. As one does. Not only that but the customer service has also gone down hill. $60 for a 15 minute hair cut and I wash, dry and style my own hair is no longer worth the hassle. Not only that if I to cancel last minute I get a cancellation fee charged but they do it to me continually and it’s ok. With the amount of salons and hair places there are now I’ve still went there even though I live 30 minutes away now. . But, I no longer will be loyal to a business that doesn’t care about mine. It’s gotten ridiculous at this point.

Fantastic experience: 3 Days ago I went to Scouts Barber and got my haircut by Duck. 2 Days ago I woke up in bed next to a 10/10 Victoria Secret model. Fantastic experience: Scout's (East at least, only one I've been to) is great. I've seen several stylists there and they always do a great job with a short cut. The people are friendly and I appreciate the inclusive environment. It's priced higher than places like Great Cuts but I think you get what you pay for and you can get in/out around $40 with tip for a short cut. Given it's every 6 weeks I think that's money well spent.

Positive experience: I had heard great things about Scouts, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, my experience was pretty disappointing. It started off decently—the receptionist was friendly and offered me a complimentary beer, which was a nice touch. However, I ended up waiting for 15 minutes, and during that time, I noticed that none of the staff seemed particularly happy to be there. When it was finally my turn, my hairstylist wasn’t very warm or conversational, which made the whole experience feel impersonal. I felt more like a job to get done rather than a valued client. During the cut, she unexpectedly gave me an aggressive neck massage after trimming my neck hairs which caused a headache, it would have been nice to been asked before the message. The haircut itself was okay, but when I got home and styled it, I noticed a section of hair that was left unusually long. Luckily, I can hide it with product, but it’s frustrating considering I just got it done. All in all, I won’t be going back to Scouts. For the price and reputation, I expected a much better experience.

Negative experience: My 11 year old just came home in tears after getting his his hair cut at Scout’s in East Nashville. The stylist was cold and didn’t say one word to him - not even to ask how he wanted his hair cut!! Whaaa? I don’t know if he assumed that all kids’ haircuts are the same or what (even though we were paying for an adult cut), but my husband had to stop the stylist from starting and tell him what our son wanted, to which the stylist only vaguely nodded. No questions, no effort put forth. I can attest to the fact that this is far from the cut he wanted, it’s jagged and sloppy and there are random long pieces in the back. We have gotten better haircuts at Supercuts and pretty much anywhere else. Skip this place!

Negative experience: They're nice, and the setting and staff definitely try to justify the prices, but I can't honestly say I walked out feeling any less underwhelmed with the haircut than I have at Great Clips... and I got one of the girls everybody fawns over in these comments. The haircut felt like I went to a beauty school, and for $70 I should not have left with hair stuck all over my face. I can also do a better job trimming my own beard, and I'm honestly terrible at it. I wouldn't go back, and I won't take a refund to change my review.

Negative experience: My husband typically gets his hair cut here - we’ve given them a lot of business over the years. Unfortunately his last appointment he had booked we hit traffic and it caused us to be 20 minutes late. They cancelled his appointment, which was fine, but then offered him a later slot. He would have accepted - but they charged him $19 for the cancellation of the first appointment in addition to what the later appointment would have cost us. Having some grace for your patrons would be nice - especially for someone who is a repeat customer.

Just as a reminder— on our website and when you call in to book, you are always made aware of our no-show or late cancellation policy. But our stylists aren’t making an hourly rate. They are only making money if a client is in their chair. Negative experience: Weird. I thought I had reviewed this place. Oh well, two stars stays the same but I don't have time to write such a long and funny review, again. No one I scheduled here could seem to follow my simple directions on how to trim my beard. Each time, at best, I was left looking like a chipmunk with my beard all the same length, despite supplying different instructions. I mean, I had my girl in Houston, TX write down the exact instructions that I should give and... still, I looked like a chipmunk when these folks were through with me. I guess that's how people like to look, here... So, unless you want to look like one of those guys with his picture in "Scoop Nashville", don't do it. Eventually, I learned to do a good enough job on my own to get by and I have my girl in Houston make it perfect every 60 to 90 days when I'm down there. I may get a little scraggly every once in awhile, but it sure beats looking like a ️.

Positive experience: Great haircuts here but beware their availability issues. I always choose the “first available” button when booking, but for the third time in less than six months I arrived only to be told the person who was going to cut my hair isnt in and was turned away with an uninterested apology. Unfortunately three unexpected cancellations within half a year feels too intentional to keep spending money here.

Negative experience: I’ve been getting my hair cut at the scouts east location and have never had an issue. The new booking system is horrible (and my browser still claims it’s unsafe to put credit card information into). I unfortunately missed an appointment for the first time in 8 years yesterday. 19$ for an appointment booked less that 15 hours prior is insanity. I cover medical procedures for a living and try to schedule appropriately but that’s just not possible. So if you want a good haircut you’ll get it here with the right person. However, they are inflexible and unwilling to contact, but happy to slap a fee on a long time customer without concern. So, you’re also just a number.

As far as the no show fee, it is plainly stated on our website once you book and you are accepting that fee if anything should happen. If you need to cancel, we're happy to do so, without the charge, up to an hour before the appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late or do not show up, that results in a no show fee.

Since you've been a good client for so long, I'm happy to add a note to your profile to credit you the $19 onto your next service. We aren't inflexible and we aren't unwilling to contact clients, as we have a messaging system in place for these situations. We typically send a 5 minute warning message to clients letting them know their appt was set to being 5 minutes prior. We also send out multiple confirmation emails and texts, but if you opt out from email/text, you will not receive those messages.

Fantastic experience: I've been taking my 3 and 5 year old to Lola for over a year after she first started repairing my 3 year old daughter's terrible Great Clips haircut. She's been so helpful as we tried to grow out the bangs that were basically cut halfway around her head. She's patient with my kids, and even gave my daughter's bunny lovey a "haircut" much to my daughter's amusement. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I’m not typically the person who leaves a negative review, but my experience was irregularly unpleasant. I’m not going to say the name of the stylist who took care of me as I’m sure they have cut other’s hair successfully and I don’t want to be rude. I showed them a few photos, which they didn’t seem to look at long enough to get a sense of what I wanted because they went on to ask me— what I wanted. I explained as best I could and they went to work. Upon finishing, I could not see a resemblance between what I asked for and what I got. My stylist took way too much off, didn’t say more than a handful of words to me, and generally made me feel like a waste of their time. I’m really sorry to say it, I hate to be that guy, but I walked in hoping to bolster my self confidence and I walked out with less than before. I even had to clean up some uneven areas at home. I’m certain there are other talented, personable stylists who work here, but I still can’t justify taking the chance and returning in the future. All I can do now is wait for my hair to grow back.

Fantastic experience: Tony Dodson is amazing! I followed him from Belle Meade and though I hate the drive across town, I'll continue to do it because I love him that much. The first time he cut my hair several years ago I literally cried tears of joy walking out of the salon because he was the first person to "get" my thin, fine hair. He made it look better than it ever had. He's an incredibly talented stylist and fabulously intuitive--he knows just what your hair needs and he makes sure that you love your hair, too. My entire family goes to Tony now. In fact, even though our oldest and his wife now live in NYC, my daughter-in-law waits to cut her hair until she comes for a visit to Nashville because she loves the way Tony cuts her long, curly hair. She could go anywhere in NYC for a haircut, but she waits for Tony. And the best part...you won't meet a kinder, more caring person. Tony's the best!

Fantastic experience: Scout in East has been my go to spot since moving to Nashville back in 2020. Going to other barbershops, I got used to leaving with a feeling of "this will do." Then I went to Scout and found my new favorite barber, Tony Dodson! 10/10 rating. Not only does he make you leave feeling great about your hair/how you look, he is absolutely hilarious, respectful, and treats each client like they are a priority. He always makes sure I am happy with my cut, and always offers to fix anything I am unhappy with. (I have never needed this, as he is always spot on.) It's rare that you leave a haircut and both feel good aesthetically, but also personally. Ive gone to get my haircut on rough days, but have always left feeling better than when I entered Scout.

Fantastic experience: I was in town for a little for an event. my hairdresser did a wonderful job capturing my description, the process was quiet which I prefer since I’m usually quiet and nervous person. And I also enjoyed the very welcoming environment. Tldr: I am extremely happy with my result. And overall I did in fact look fresh for the event, and still helping me feel more comfortable in my skin for the long term.

Fantastic experience: Tony Dodson was amazing with my daughter. She was nervous about her first "real" haircut and he was tender and sweet and put her immediately at ease. She also has long, curly hair, and he spent more time than I've ever seen spent on a child's haircut cross-checking and correcting and making sure it was perfect. He was also clear that if there was anything she didn't like, we could come back and he'd make it right. Spoiler: we haven't had to go back--he did a fabulous job. Fantastic experience: I am not the type to leave reviews, but this cut is worth its weight in Google review gold! I am a very picky person when it comes to my hair because I have very long, heavy hair and I am always scared whoever I go to is going to ruin it. Negative experience: I'm giving 2 stars because of the prices they charge. You can get a really nice haircut at other salons for $25. Here, you don't know if you're going to get a good cut or not. The decor and free drinks shouldn't be cause for double the price ($45 ).

Fantastic experience: I’ve been getting my hair cut by Dallas McLaird from Scout’s East for several years. Full disclosure, he is my son, but hopefully the fact that I’ve continued to trust him with my hair for all this time communicates that HE’S REALLY GOOD! It might sound vain, but people usually think I’m about 10 years younger than I am (or more) and a good part of that is having a great, modern haircut. On top of his technical ability, he is great with customers! Good barbers are also good listeners, and Dallas is certainly that. He seems to know a bit about everything, not in a “know it all” sort of way but in a way that communicates a genuine interest in his clients and the things that are important to them. Do yourself a favor and get over to Scout’s and have Dallas take care of your hair!

Fantastic experience: Tony Dodson is by far the best stylist that I've had in years. He listens to what you want, or think you want, and makes great suggestions. I've been going to him for a while now and he's consistently excellent, great haircut every time.

Fantastic experience: Drove in from New Mexico to go to my daughter's graduation and didn't have a lot of time but needed a trim. normally you have to have an appointment because scouts is so popular but Ashley at the front desk got me a head shave and a beard trim in and out like it was magic. she is so wonderful and scouts is great in general but Ashley specifically is next level awesome. Thank you so much for saving the day!

Negative experience: As a long time customer of scouts, I was extremely disappointed with my cut today. 30 mins before my appointment I got a text changing my provider and the time. I should have just cancelled but the new provider was a “senior” stylist, and my past experiences have been mostly positive, so I assumed all would be great. WRONG! I was asked how would I like my hair, and I had one simple request, to not cut so short so as to see some existing alopecia (bald) spots on the back of my head. I had spent several months growing hair long enough to hide these. Bang, in one sloppy, 15 minute cut, the back of my head looks awful and the spots more obvious than ever. I should have realized when I wasn’t shown the back of my head post cut, with the mirror. Apryle Green rushed through my appointment and did not offer me the attention or skill to make me feel any one else should trust her ability cut, even the simplest of hair. If you are unable to accommodate special requests, thru skill or not enough time, then you should have cancelled. I am now embarrassed to go out:(

Fantastic experience: Michaela Keith cuts my sons hair every month (and mine on occasion) and does a great job! My kids trusts her and so do I, since I’ve been to other stylists that cut his hair too short despite my urging not to.

Fantastic experience: Best place to get a haircut in Nashville by far and ask for Dallas. Never loved my hair this much due to his ability, and he’s truly one of the best humans. Always asks how I am doing and gives me the best laughs and conversation and is someone who truly cares about giving you the best out of what you want.

Fantastic experience: I moved to Nashville and had a tough time finding someone that I could trust with my hair. After trial and error, I found Michaela who is awesome. She's done a great job and I've received compliments about my hair after visiting her. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: First time customer, but definitely won’t be my last. This is the best barbershop in the area. I have been to others nearby and none compare to this one. Great quality haircuts and the staff was attentive to each person. Michaela was very professional and did a great job. I highly recommend going to her for your next haircut!

Fantastic experience: Michaela is the Best! I'm bald on top, so I can only grow long hair on the sides and in the back. But now that my hair is down to my lower back, I have Michaela trim me up and style my hair so it looks healthy. No more split ends for me. I even have her buzz the 7 or 8 hairs on the top of my head! She's great!

Fantastic experience: The best spot in Nashville for a mens haircut at a reasonable price. I think that every place should offer complimentary rinses after a haircut that is my only complaint is that scouts does not. Besides that have had nothing but wonderful experiences! Michaela is the best!

Fantastic experience: To me, going to get my hair cut has always felt like going to the dentist's office: always inconvenient, mildly intimidating and a personal space invasion (haha, space invasion). That being said, Scout's is the antithesis of the dentist's office; moreover, Skylar Gregg is definitely not a dentist... (nor a space invader). She is so chill and welcoming; her easygoing personality makes the haircut experience feel nothing like a chore, but rather like a good hang with a longtime friend. She is the definition of good vibes. Oh yeah - she's also a PRO, bro. Every time Skylar cuts my hair or trims my beard, I leave Scout's feeling and looking like a dentist's bankroll (a million bucks). Highly, highly recommend Skylar and Scout's.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience today at Scouts East. I got in and was assigned Xarah Xavier for the first time. She is very nice and has a sweet personality plus her attention to detail. She was perfect with the lines on my haircut and beard trim. She provided hot towels and was great with a straight razor. Negative experience: Worst haircut ever!! I specifically asked for Kat bc she did my husband's hair great on his last visit. But definitely NOT the same on women's hair!! I asked for an inch to be cut off the bottom and now I have all these random short hairs all around my face. I also got my baby girl's first haircut there the same day by the same lady. And I told her I only wanted her bangs cut. But she also cut the hair on the side of her face making my little girl look like she has a mullet! This was the worst listening stylist I have EVER had anywhere!! I Will never go back again!!

Fantastic experience: Tony is absolutely amazing! We had to fix a rough hairstyle I had previously (not done at scouts) and he talked me though it with plans to keep making it gorgeous.He made me feel welcomed and beautiful by the time I left his chair. Fantastic experience: Tomas is great with my 17-year old son. He listens to the changing hair requests (we've seen Tomas, I think, 4 times and each time my son wants something a little different) and always makes my son feel good and confident when we leave. He is also a wonderful conversationalist and so my son looks forward to chatting to him. Not everyone knows how to talk to teens! I appreciate Tomas's knowledge on hair and the pointers he shares with us. The online booking system is convenient and I love the yummy sparkling water options.

Negative experience: I have used Scouts East since they were across from Edleys. A lot of has changed obviously but the biggest change is customer service. I loved the scheduling of appointments rather than walk ins. However, when I schedule an appointment, I expect to be seen in a timely manner. I saw other customers come and go and I even went to the desk to change to any one who can cut hair but was told it’s not possible. There were hair stylist not cutting hair at the time! It’s just a shame that the original staff is no longer there. They were the best. It’s honestly no wonder that the original stylist no longer work there. Scouts, if you read this please visit your sites and re-evaluate.

Negative experience: I went in for a cut recently, and described exactly what I wanted, and ended up with the worst haircut I have ever had with horrible blending and fades, and I tried styling it myself when I got home and literally cannot make anything look good and will be wearing a hat the next 2 weeks until It grows back and I get it fixed. The lady was nice who cut it, but ended up getting distracted by her own stories and ended up looking back at my hair and said “oops think I just rounded that over” after I specifically asked to have it blended and NOT rounded (because it makes my face look like a circle). Very disappointed, and I’m sure the other barbers are great, but I recommend trying one of the top ones that everyone else on here is saying good things about. Definitely not worth $30, I could have done this myself better for free.

Fantastic experience: Scout's is, by far, the most reliable and consistent shop I have found during my time in Nashville in regards to a quality haircut. The hospitality is incredible, the people are warm and welcoming, and the result is perfect. Skylar Gregg has been my go-to stylist since I moved to Nashville a few years ago. She is personable, responsive to direction and input, and nails my haircut every single time without fail. I had her do some color recently and she did that flawlessly, as well. I would HIGHLY recommend and trust anyone at Scout's with my head of hair, but as long as I'm in Nashville and Skylar Gregg is cutting hair, you can find me in her chair!

Fantastic experience: If you want someone to listen to what you want done to your hair, only for them to exceed your expectations, then Tomas is definitely the stylist everyone should be seeing. We've gone all-over the spectrum with what I desire for my locks and I've never been disappointed. He's professional, talented, and honestly one of the easiest people to have a conversation with as he makes you feel beautiful!
