Negative experience: Made an appointment and day off they say I missed it when it was hours before my scheduled time. Had to call to get a new one. Come in and did not get the services I asked for. Haircut was mediocre at best, and not worth 48 bucks

Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our family absolutely loves Erica B! She cuts and styles my hair and all three of my kids — our twin boys and our daughter — and every single time she knocks it out of the park. The cuts are always on point, clean, and exactly what we ask for. She really listens, but she also knows her craft so well that she guides us when we’re not sure what will work best. Erica is incredibly detail-oriented and you can tell she has real passion for what she does. It shows in the quality of her work and in how great we all feel walking out of the salon. And when we need to book all of us at once, we also see her partner, Patrick B, who we trust just as much. Between the two of them, our whole crew stays looking sharp. Highly recommend — 5 stars all the way!

Negative experience: I have enjoyed the haircuts and beard trims that I have gotten at Floyds and the stylists are very nice but they seem to have trouble staying on schedule. My visit before this last one started 30 minutes later than what I scheduled and when I went in today I left after my appointment was 15 minutes past the start time and decided to find another provider for hair and beard services. Bummer they can't stay on schedule since they do pretty good work!

Negative experience: I absolutely love the staff and our usual barbers are the best. My son went yesterday to get a haircut and used a diff barber and we specifically said no edge up and she gave my son an edge up and looks bad. I told my son he needs to pay attention and speak up when getting a haircut so things like these don’t happen. Will definitely keep using our two barbers we absolutely love Colleen and Kyrstin.

Negative experience: I got a hair cut on October 10th by Patric, I felt he was rushed during the process. After the hair cut I realized that my bangs were extremely uneven and crooked. I called, returned and got the bangs fixed for free. I realized Patric managed to cut off part of my bangs near my widows peak, leaving it slightly bald and sticking out.

Negative experience: Used to be pretty good with almost no wait times and around $35. Now the quality has dropped drastically and it’s hit or a miss just like at Sportsclip or other generic haircuts. Used to be able to walk-in but not anymore, unfortunately. I would go here unless there are no other reasonably priced places

Negative experience: Just paid $68 for a beard trim and skin fade. Not only is my hair not faded to the skin (SKIN FADE), the beard trim I paid $20 for left me with a bald streak in the middle of my beard. If I could rate my experience 0 stars I would. Mind you, I’ve never never left a review anywhere before.

Negative experience: Had nearly 2.5 inches of hair cut off without consent. I sat in chair turned away from the mirror and was not asked how I wanted the cut nor was there a check-in to see if the cut was good. He just chopped off all my hair because he felt like it, I guess. The hair cut looks so stupid on me and I can’t hide it at my new career/job with the state. I went back for a refund, the manager admitted it was a bad cut and said my hair is curly so I can hide it. I won’t be back!!!!

Negative experience: I was happy paying $40 for detailed beard trim and buzz cut. I was getting this service every 3 weeks would tip my Barber Alonso 20% he is the best. But last time i got charged $55 they told me price went up. Thats a big jump, i can get better deals somewhere else, so thats my last time going. Price change to over 20% really?

Fantastic experience: I recently had another great experience with Alicia C. She is an incredibly efficient barber and stylist, consistently delivering outstanding haircuts and beard trims. She’s typically right on time with appointments, and even when things run slightly behind, she makes the most of her time to ensure a top-notch result. Her passion for her craft comes through in her work. Alicia’s attention to detail, especially with a straight razor, is exceptional. Her work is truly a cut above. However, I do want to mention an issue with the shop itself. The air conditioning has not worked for the past few months, and on my visit this Sunday, it was 80 degrees inside. It’s uncomfortable for both clients and staff, and with summer approaching, this needs urgent attention from Floyd’s management or the commercial lease team.

Negative experience: I asked for my hair to be cut BELOW my eyebrows but was ultimately cut looking like a steep uneven slope ABOVE my eyebrows. The lady cutting my hair was a bit too preoccupied with her apple watch and was playing around with it a bit too much during my haircut to pay close attention to what she was doing because I felt the hair clippers get jammed when cutting my hair twice. The haircut took less than 10 minutes to complete if you even call the finish product "complete". She was reckless when cutting my hair and it did not seem like she cared at all and seemed like she just wanted me out of the shop as fast as possible. Never coming back

Negative experience: I walked in good service then about 30 mins later i was told to follow some lady i think it was kat e i wasnt sure if i should get a low taper fade or a mid taper fade so i went with the low taper then kat e starts cutting and asks how long do i want to keep it i said about the same length if not just half an inch off after she finishes she spins me to the mirror and i saw myself and i wanted to pit myself 6 feet under because of what a bad job was done my chances of getting a gf are over i might have to try the other gender

Negative experience: I've enjoyed taking my daughter to Floyd's for the past few years up until yesterday. We had a 4:30 appointment and arrived five minutes early. We waited for 30 minutes and watched several other customers who arrived after us come and go. It wasn't until after 5pm that we were told they didn't have a stylist ready who was comfortable doing a GIRLS's cut and that we would have to wait longer. We asked for a pixie cut but it didn't seem to matter. I'm SO disappointed in Floyd's. Gender equality be damned here. We walked out, went to Supercuts, and got a great haircut from Emilio in less than 20 minutes.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time at any floyds99. I’ve been to 4 other barbers in austin. 3 at a higher price point and birds which is the same price. First meet, and my barber was easier to talk to than my old barbers right off the bat. Laid back casual talk and he was really receptive to what I wanted and asked questions before cutting which showed he wanted to get the cut right on our first meet. Most important? The cut looked really really good, immediately I knew I’d keep this location (Brodie) and this barber (Alfonso) for my fade. Nice quick neck massage and straight razor for the back of the neck with hot lather is top notch. Despite the really cool looking cut, it was also quicker than I expected which I really appreciate, I don’t like spending all day at the barber (shrugs) The Shops clean and has good tunes at a reasonable price. Everywhere’s kinda pricey for hair nowadays, this place was on the lower end at $29/$35 for a mens cut. I preferred my cut which was under $40 after tip, to my old barber who changes $55 after tip here in austin. That’s with a bald fade, regular fades are $6 less (fyi). Extra: I’ve never had my beard trimmed, I do it myself. Alfonso offered to lightly trim my beard To show me how he does it, and it looked amazing! Next time I’m trying the $18 full beard trim since obvi he is wayyyyy better at that than me. Hope this helps

Negative experience: Just got my long hair cut for nothing , not even close to what I wanted, I ask specifically to get the back buzzed my trimmers and got scissor, ask to just cut dead ends off and they kept going and going, I’ll just keep wearing my hat I can’t even tuck my long/short hair behind my ears anymore. Had shampoo service on my order cause it’s dry as hell after my 10 hour day in the sun and just got spray bottles cut Huge let down and disappointment

Negative experience: Waited 15 min for my stylist to show up. No communication from anyone, no apologies, hey can someone else cut your hair. Finally just left, not going to patron somewhere with this poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: This is my regular place for my haircuts. I just wish the straight razor shave was less expensive. They can also revamp their VIP birthday discount. $5 really? That is the best you can do? 1 free service of OUR choice would be more appropriate.

Fantastic experience: There are a bunch of locations and all are this way, but I go to one that’s about a mile from my house. The staff are all cool, appointments are convenient and almost always available same day, haircuts are great, and I can be in and out in like 15 minutes. I love the nice, chill vibe of the place.

Negative experience: Not sure who it was that cut my hair but they did a terrible job. I told the guy to cut very little off my hair at the and he cut over an inch. I don’t know if he just completely ignored the directions I gave him at the beginning or he’s just that bad at his job. He was also sneezing and coughing the whole time I was there. Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a barber pick TEE B! She is absolutely amazing! Never lets me down on whatever I’m asking for, even when I only bring an idea she has a vision and comes through for me every time! If I’m growing my hair and doing a part with a combover it’s awesome with a medium skin fade. When I came in recently for a short haircut with texture and a low skin fade. She made it happen! I just told her if she saw something go for it! I was extremely happy. I will be a returning customer as long as she’s there. Fantastic experience: Haircuts seem to be getting more and more expensive around Austin, but Shania at Floyds Barber is the person you have to get cuts from. I look forward to our bi-weekly conversations (she's extremely pleasant). Sometimes I'll tell her I want to do something slightly different with my hair, and I have no idea how to describe it with words, but she just understands and gets me exactly what I want every time. This review is more for Shania than Floyds. The barber shop is fine. No issues to flag. But Shania has been my favorite barber probably ever.

Positive experience: I have mixed feeling about this place. I brought in an individual who had an appointment. The individual has disabilities and has AFOs (leg braces). The individual also greeted people who walked by with a big smile. The stylist refused to serve this individual who was friendly, clean, and delighted to be there. Fortunately, Cody stepped in and gave this individual a fabulous haircut and top notch service. This individual refuses to go to any other place for hair care so I hope Floyds will educate their staff about discrimination, prejudice, diversity, and just being kind. Life is hard enough; there was no reason for the 1st stylist to be willing to hurt anyone's feelings or deny service. Shame on that stylist, but all praises to Cody. Thanks for stepping up and being kind to the sweet person I brought in for a pixie cut.

Negative experience: Have been here a couple times and was given a good haircut in the past. My last visit I got the absolute worse haircut ever and tried to fix it a couple times but the girl just kept chopping my hair up and making it worse,she didn't seem to listen to how I wanted to correct it and just kept doing random things with my hair . It's completely butchered with patches, she should not be cutting hair. I'm embarrassed to walk in public and now have to go somewhere else to pay another $50 to correct it.

Fantastic experience: I would like to give a big big shout out to Topher who recently cut my adult son’s hair. he has extreme anxiety and is not comfortable around most people in the public due to lots of bullying in his life. He wanted to donate his hair for a cancer charity because I have went through cancer. I called and made arrangements ahead of time. I am handling the mailing. I just needed to make sure I had someone kind and who understood our goal. We were blessed to have Topher take up the task. Fantastic experience: I took my 7 year old son in for a kids haircut. Cody had such great demeanor and absolutely heard what my son was requesting. He kept checking in with him to make sure my son was getting what he wanted. My son even commented how kind Cody was and that it was nice he was talking to him about his haircut (and he said that he had a really kind voice and liked it ). We will definitely be returning.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Floyd’s for over 10 years. I started at the ArborWalk location and as my life moved me to new areas, I visited the two locations in Fort Collins, CO, back to Austin at the location in Sunset Valley, which is where I reside now. Negative experience: Friendly staff but give off a cult vibe. too crowded, and a $32 haircut became a $50 one without notice. Front desk staff were accommodative but when customers walk-in, are busy chatting among themselves and asking the customers to wait. Not going back.

Negative experience: I have come here a few times. I have typically seen whoever is available. Typically it was average and professional. (That is why the 1 star.) Unfortunately, I had the same barber twice in row. She was unnecessarily unpleasant. Just genuinely a jerk. A haircut should be a lot of things- but it should not be an unpleasant experience. I recognize her job is hard- but that is no excuse for such horrid behavior. I will not be using this or any other Floyd's location.

Positive experience: Solid reputation and great haircut every time. It’s unfortunate but the owners are obviously absent from the location. The staff works each summer in a underpowered location when it comes to the A/C. That is the reason for my 4 stars and not a 5.

Their services cost more than Great Clips, Supercuts, or Austin Haircut Co -- 50-75% more... but its the vibe (music, chill & relaxed atmosphere) and the overall happy stylists and customers you're surrounded by ... that keeps me coming back. I hand no idea what I wanted my hair to look like for my business trip, just needed a professional look, and at the time it was long curly and to my shoulders lol..so not an easy task. Positive experience: First time at a Floyd’s. Was expecting barbershop quality, but it’s more like a Sports Clips or Great Clips. Scheduled 30 minutes but my hair only takes 10 minutes. Still felt like I was sort of rushed out of the chair and now I have to fix some straggling hairs when I get home. Probably won’t be back. Nice people though.
