Negative experience: got a haircut by Jay…what i can say about this shop is that it’s way overrated with the reviews. I heard him say cut half the price just put a review. I don’t even wanna show the picture to show my face and overcharged me the other barbers have a set price, but for some reason, the owner charges me and the owner is cocky receding hairline with no style thinking he is doing something asked me to give a review too on top of that don’t let the review fool you guys.

I don’t typically indulge in stylish haircuts for myself, and never before had I treated myself to a straight-edge shave with a hot towel at a shop. But Jay made it more than worth the time. My hair and face look good, but I also *feel* better after taking the time for a relaxing and soothing experience. Jay communicated well so we were on the same page, he put me at ease, he set a good mood with music, he talked about his life and was interested in mine. Think of it as getting more than just a haircut. I’d go back every time if I were local to San Diego. Ask him about the “Godfather” experience, which is said to include whiskey and a cigar. Jay will make you look better and feel better. The shop has a friendly aesthetic. Puerto Rican owned (there was a little statuette for Roberto Clemente in my room). It’s a community I didn’t know was present in San Diego. (Navy?)

Negative experience: STAY AWAY FROM ALI. Worst barber experience I’ve ever had. He barely understood what I was asking for, acted like he had no idea what he was doing, and the end result proved it. My haircut was nothing like what I asked—way too short, uneven, and sloppy. He charged $45 cash, but the ATM only gave $20, $40, or $60. I gave him $40, and because I didn’t hand over the other $5, he actually forced me to write him a fake 5-star review. Imagine that—ruin my hair, then demand praise for it. This guy has little to no experience, doesn’t listen, and relies on fake reviews to trick people. Don’t waste your money or your time. Just take my word and don’t go. EDIT – Replying back: Wow, your reply really just proved my point. Instead of being professional, you decided to insult me and question what a “real man” would do. A real professional would fix their mistakes, not mock their customers online. And to clarify — yes, I was forced to write that 5-star review. You told me I couldn’t leave until I did it because I only paid $40 instead of $45 (since the ATM didn’t give exact amounts). That’s not me “choosing” to do something — that’s you using pressure to save your rating. So here’s your “5-star” review. I didn’t bring it to a manager because I only realized how bad the cut was after getting home — it was uneven, way too short, and nothing like what I asked for. I even had to go to another barbershop to get it fixed. And as for that $200 “offer,” don’t bother. Keep it — maybe invest it in customer service training or use it to learn how to treat people with basic respect. Clearly you guys need it more.

Negative experience: Was looking to spoil my guy with a total barber experience, saw the great reviews on this place and thought I give it a go! I tried booking through there website, which unfortunately only seemed to let you book 30 minute hair cut windows instead of the intended service I wanted to give my guy. Optimisticly, I booked an appointment. And to make sure I was getting him the right service, I called and asked two people the same question, only to feel completely blown off over the phone, while trying to confirm if the full service was going to happen, even though I couldn't book it online. The only response I got was "yes ok, I see you for Wednesday, thankyou for confirming. Ok, good bye." Left feeling completely unheard and a fear that I wasn't going to get my guy in for the full service, I cancelled instead. If there can be an update on the website to ensure getting the services that are desired, it would be much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Jay hooked me up big time, I’ve been looking around for a barber that understood what I’ve been asking to get and it’s been hard. My hair can be difficult to cut, but Jay is a pro, took his time, asked what I did for work and cut it according to how it should look for my job, and it came out perfect. Negative experience: I came in on 10/26 for an 11:00 a.m. haircut with Camilo. It was my first time visiting this barbershop, and I didn’t have a great experience. I booked my appointment directly through the website, but even at 11:30 Camilo was still working with another client. Around 12:00, he took another client even after his colleagues mentioned that I was waiting. He didn’t acknowledge me or apologize for the delay which was very unprofessional. I didn’t get helped until about 12:30, after I flagged someone else to assist me. Victor helped me and did a great job. The rest of the staff was friendly and made an effort to greet everyone.

Not only are the cuts REALLY good, the price are extremely reasonable compared to surrounding shops, and the entire shop is a vibe. Eveybody is super cool. Never seen a bad cut from anyone, but I personally go to Victor, who in opinion is definitely one of the best. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
