Fantastic experience: This reviews for Simon. Everytime i go to Stormy’s it’s always great service, the haircut i wanted, plus cool people! With Simon he doesn’t just cut your hair how you want it to be, he curates it and does what he can to make it look even better than you originally imagined (yes he asks first), but it means that i always walk outta there feeling like ‘the man’ (or ‘that gal’), not feeling the need for my hats anymore. I always leave Stormy’s with a smile though regardless of who’s doing my hair but i thought he deserved a special shoutout

After doing a little research, I sought out Stormys last week, and they did not disappoint! The atmosphere was great and my son felt so thrilled to be in such a well designed space! Fantastic experience: My partner regularly has his haircut at Stormys and so far, the experience has been great! The barbers are quite friendly and knowledgeable, and pretty much can match the hairstyle that he wants just from a picture...comes out looking like a model. ;) There's a lounge as well where you can hang out, read, play some table games while waiting, all good fun! You don't need an appointment, and even on busy days, we haven't waited too long for his turn in the chair. Good spot to get a haircut when you're in Nelson!

My son has been desperate to come to this place for a while, so once we found it hidden in the corner, we entered a pretty cool atmosphere where we only had to wait 10mins (no appointment) and while we waited we played pool. Great hair cut and fun vibes to wait, too. Keep up the awesome work guys!

Negative experience: They nicked my neck and didn’t say anything about it and then charged me 35$ for a haircut that took 10 minutes I would not recommend

Negative experience: Needed a haircut and didn’t had to wait a minute to be served. I think I didn’t express my wishes well enough as English is not my mother tongue, but the barber next to my seat translated what I wanted pretty clear. Sadly the haircut was done pretty poorly, I think I was served by the trainee maybe. The sides were done unevenly and razored unclean to different heights. The bangs of my mid part were scissored to different lengths and I felt like I got a Mohawk in the back which was only visible in daylight. Whole haircut was done in 15 minutes.

Negative experience: I keep forgetting these guys know only one haircut, and will do that haircut regardless of what you ask for. Every few months I think 'hey, maybe it'll be alright this time' and go to get my hair cut here, and find myself then spending the next months waiting for my hair to grow out to a state where I can remove my hat again. Next time, just get Grandma to do it.

Fantastic experience: My Son Riley got his haircut there today, I think the barber was American, longish hair and a cap. Rileys has longish ginger hair and it's his pride and joy. The barber really listened and did a great haircut and Riley is rapped with it. So thankyou so much!!

Fantastic experience: Went a few weeks ago now, each time I go it’s always towards the very end of the day but always get a very good cut. I feel so bad I forgot his name but the English bloke who calls me “matey” does a great cut and gave me great advice on what to do with my hair. Legend +good price and pretty quick too

Negative experience: I walked in expecting to get a taper, I showed the barber a picture of exactly what I wanted and specified multiple times to leave the top. He then proceeded to cut my hair (Including the top) really short. Overall bad experience and the opposite of what I wanted, will not be going again.

Fantastic experience: I went to Stormys Man Cave Barbershop for the first time today to get a haircut, and I was pleasantly surprised by the service and customer satisfaction they provide to every customer. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating to their customers. Taylor did my hair and I was very nervous about the haircut because of previous bad experiences I had at other barber shops in Nelson. I got to share that it was the best service I have received from her and she catered to my needs as requested and I was truly delighted and I will definitely visit again. Negative experience: We are in nelson on holiday from the gold coast Aus. My 10year old really wanted a haircut & he has one specific barber we always go to back on the GC who nails my sons cuts each & everytime, so of corse I wanted to find a place that could live upto his standards. After researching online I came across this barber, due to the reviews I thought we'd pop in here. I showed the barber a photo of what my son wanted & explained he wanted to keep the long part at the back thay he was growing out as a ratstail. That was algood, he proceeded to cut my sons hair, left a huge chunk of hair out on the leftside of my sons head. It wasn't even centred! I am partially blind & couldn't see much of what was going on but my daughter who was with us, told me I needed to go have a look partway through him cutting his hair because it looked wrong. I walked over to have a better look & was confused as to why he had left the ratstail to the side of my sons head & not the middle I asked if he had done ratstails before & he said yes, I asked did he do them to the side of the head or the middle there was no salvaging the ratty so in the end it had to be cut off. My son acted like it was okay in the salon chair but when we left he was upset & not happy! Amd so was I. Usually I get asked along the way if all looks good and if they (the barber) should proceed or change anything. I got nothing at this barber. If it wasn't for my daughter I would not have known until the very end!! We walked away very unhappy with the end result and now have to grow it out again!

Negative experience: Last I went in for a cut I asked for a 4 on top and 2 on the sides and if they couldn't do that a 2 all over. I was given a buzz cut when I asked for a fade also another thing was another time here I asked for a faux and it looked completely messed and stuffed up. Am starting to distrust barbers very much some even try to second guess as to get us out of what cut we want We are paying for quality service! Please fix this and yes I care very much for my hair

Negative experience: I wouldn't go back again. I went in there confident my beard was in good hands to get a hair cut from a man who didn't have a beard let alone look like he could grow one. Told him I wanted to keep most of the length and keep a square shape to it he chopped over half the length off it and made it very round like a brown marshmallow on my chin! Got charged full price for a hair and beard cut combo that only took 20 minutes. Left feeling highly disappointed and less than a man, half bald and overcharged.
