Negative experience: Asked for a 0 fade with weight left on the corners and just a trim on top. When he finished, the sides looked uneven, messy, and poorly blended. I asked him to tidy it up and take a little length off the left side of the fringe because it was sticking out awkwardly and looked ridiculous at the side of my head. Instead of fixing it properly, he told me it would “change the whole haircut” and then proceeded to cut one side extremely tight. When he showed me the finished result, one side of my hair was practically skint while the other side was still left long. I actually had to ask him to match the sides because it looked completely uneven. To make it worse, he then blamed me for the haircut ending up so short instead of admitting he hadn’t listened properly in the first place. Very disappointing experience and definitely the last time I’ll let him cut my hair.

Negative experience: The barbers is FILTHY DIRTY, only realised how dirty when i was mid haircut. The barber stunk of BO and used the R word. Language out of all staff and chatting like no customers in shop, they had mates sitting in hanging out. The barber BUTCHERED the head off me. This place is a KIP. Avoid avoid avoid

Negative experience: Too expensive. Decent haircut, but nothing worth 32euro. I've gotten the exact same in town for 18-23e tops. No way a 1.5 blade and beard line-up should cost 32e.

Negative experience: Review I went to this Barbers in the Golden Island Shopping Centre for the first time and will never return. The barber completely ruined my hair and did not listen to what I had asked to be done, even after discussing this with him in detail before hand and him repeating it to me. I had asked for a small bit to be taken off the length on top so I could have it messy. He asked me then if I wanted to use a number 4 blade on top instead. I repeated no! and repeated to him to barely take any off the top as it was already short. I again repeated for him to only use a scissors and to not take much off the top. The barber then completely ignored what I had asked for and began chopping my hair as close to my scalp. When I had asked him what he was doing that he had cut it to short. He said buzz cut! I said that’s not what I asked for and he said you said no blade use a scissor! I said ye and to only take a small bit off the top, as it was short already! He then said it must have been a communication error and got in a huff when I told him he ruined my hair! The barber had one AirPod in during my hair cut, which i also found very unprofessional for the price they try to charge people. I did not pay for this “butcher job” today and I honestly don’t know where they find these barbers and by reading all there previous reviews it’s not a once off! I can only recommend to spend your money elsewhere!

Negative experience: Today I queued for a haircut at Boston barbers Athlone golden island , there are no bookings like most Barbers so I took my place in line behind maybe 6 or 7 people which is fine. As I waited a man who was not in the queue spoke to one of the barbers and was told he could be next with that barber , he then jumped the queue and got his haircut, when he finished then his son jumped the queue and got his haircut, skipping at least 5 people … never seen this happen before and could not say anything as was getting my haircut .. I waited over an hour and these guys didn’t have to wait … absolute joke .. haircut was fine but in all fairness this should not happen would give a zero review if possible

Negative experience: Went in and said the haircut I wanted and was going ok until he cut the fringe a lot shorter than I wanted, boxed of the hair instead of it looking natural, there are some spots that are more of a 0.5 or 0 than a 1 like I asked for. The hair cut is a mess and when I mentioned about a part that was very boxy he responded with “you are not a fashion man”. Also I have a double crown and that still has plenty of hair left on it so I’ll be going to a different barber in the next week to get it all fixed. Never met a barber who could make that many mistakes, however he seemed more interested in what he was listening to on his earphones

Negative experience: Stay as far away as possible, got charged 34 euros and had to ask for my beard to be lined using a blade, can't even do a straight beard line up my beard is uneven, definitely not a trained barber an actual robbery for the quality of haircut I got

Fantastic experience: Have bought my lads here many times. They are always very happy with their haircut afterwards. The barbers are very friendly & there's always abit of football banter. The wait is never too long.

Negative experience: Had long hair that took a while too grow out and asked for a bit off the top and the barber left around an inch on the top and by the time I realised it was too late, took off way more than he said he would and the back of my hair is uneven. Would not recommend especially for €18. Added before and Afters and you can see that there is much less volume on top and back is uneven

Negative experience: Worst haircut of my life and very rude and abrupt attitude of barber.

Negative experience: I had a few hair cuts in the Golden Island one, some ok, one really horrible but one was great. I encountered real bad attitude in there too many times with the barbers and I am certainly not going there again after today. The turn over of staff is so high that you won’t know what you are getting until it is too late

Negative experience: Boyfriend paid €29 and he took lumps out of his beard trying to fade it and then gave him a weird bowl cut also trying to fade it. Left hair all over him then after. Had to run into the style inn across the road and had to cut my boyfriends beard off ( I cried ) because of how bad it was and then fix the rest of his head.

Fantastic experience: Jamie done a great job, would recommend going there I'd give 6 stars if i could. You could have a good laugh with the two lads which is always good to have. Keep up the good work

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would! The man who attended me in the white shirt and the beard finished in less than 10 minutes and did a lousy job! I was really disappointed in his work as he didn't cut my hair in a straight line in the back as he was rushing things up, and he did not show me in the mirror how he cut my hair in the back. When I realized that my hair was uneven, I returned to inform him that I wanted him to finish the job to which he initially refused as he was saying they are closing up! I insisted and he hesitantly accepted but not without an attitude and cursing! Needless to say, he also did not get the job properly done even the second time, however I did not have the time to correct him again! And by the way, he charged me a price of 24 euro for a lousy job and experience! Save yourself the money and go to another barber that actually appreciates its customers! I definitely do not recommend!!! Thanks but no thanks, Boston Barber Athlone!

Negative experience: I got a haircut here a few weeks ago and I can’t express my disappointment with my haircut. The barber didn’t listen to me as I begged him not to butcher my hair. He laughed cruelly, “hahahahaha” he howled as he murdered my hair. I left the barber shaken and scarred. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Negative experience: This was a one star experience for the reason I was waiting here for 1 hour on the chair and the barber slowly cut my hair as if he didn’t know what the hell he was doing. I was going to a disco that night and I got bet.

Positive experience: The lads are very good and make sure you're comfortable and also give advice. I go here while I'm in college and I'm never disappointed. From a trim to a tape up they can do it.
