Fantastic experience: Took my son today for the 1st time he is autistic so hair cuts are not his thing. He was so relaxed and content with how Kim approached him. He doesn't like the shaver noise but Kim made my son feel so relaxed he didnt even notice it was being used. I will be definitely coming back as not only my son was calm made me feel calm that he was so relaxed.

Fantastic experience: Just been to Kim’s barber shop after failed attempts elsewhere, including other children’s hairdressers. Previous experiences have resulted in my child the most distressed I have ever seen him… at Kim’s there were no tears and at the end he didn’t even want to leave! I had to bribe him out with the goodie bag that Kim provides. I won’t be going anywhere else. Highly recommend Kim, especially if your child struggles with having their hair cut. Fantastic experience: Took our 3 yr old boy who hates having his hair cut. Kim was great, she produced loads of toys to distract him and managed to give him a great cut. Even gave him and his brother a little bag of goodies when we left. The worst part was getting him out of there!

Fantastic experience: Can not recommend enough after being recommended due to my son having a dodgy cut from being forced to sit still ect. kim did an amazing job at fixing his hair up she took her time to gain trust from him her patience and distractions skills are impressive even i was taken aback with how calm my non-verbal asd son was. Safe to say this will be my go to now for all 3 on my kids and id also tell every profession that I meet about kim to so other parents can experience a stress free hair cut for thier child. The only tears we had was when it was time to leave

Fantastic experience: A lovely experience today with Kim, this was our first time visiting after a recommendation. My 2 year old has had bad experiences with having his hair cut and Kim was extremely calm and I don't actually think my little boy realised his hair was being cut at all. He actually did not want to leave, he really enjoyed playing with all the toys and the little treat bag at the end was a lovely touch. His hair has never looked better and he is already excited about coming again. Will 100% be a returning customer. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had issues getting my son’s hair cut as he has complex needs and is very emotional. I’ve heard of Kim from a lot of people and she came highly recommended. Drove 35 mins for the appointment and I asked if she had any cancellations as it’s so hot my son wasn’t doing well with the heat. She instantly got us for my son’s comfort And when I say I am so in awe of this woman! She was so patient and followed him around to cut his hair! He only got a little fussy and she adjusted to help him. This will now be my go to and I will recommend her to everyone!! Price was very good and a goodie bag included! Would pay more! Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic experience at Kim Carter’s Barbers! Kim was incredibly calming and patient with my two-year-old who can be quite wary of new people. The salon is bright, inviting and quiet. She had plenty of toys to keep him occupied and really took the time to go at his pace, which made all the difference. It was an entirely positive experience for my little boy with no tears at all and being able to park right outside was a huge bonus too. Highly recommend for parents with little ones we will definitely be coming back!

Negative experience: Took my little boy for a haircut and came out with a wonky cut and no blending. Partner had been a few years before and came out with a bowl cut. Thought the skills would have improved as I have heard such good reviews but it obviously hasn't.

Fantastic experience: For the first time, my child did not cry when he got his haircut. I thank her from the bottom of my heart for her patience and understanding of children’s psychology. We also came at the wrong time and she welcomed us.

Fantastic experience: We brought our 17 month old for his first haircut here today. We have previously had a bad experience somewhere else, and couldn't have had a better experience with kim. She made our boy feel really comfortable, he happily sat playing with toys and instantly warmed to kim thanks to the lovely approach she had with him. Kim cut his hair exactly as we wanted it and we couldn't be more pleased. It was definitely worth the 30 minute drive.

Fantastic experience: I Took our little boy that was scared of haircuts. (To the point of screaming and abandoning the haircut). Within 5 minutes he was comfortable with kim. Within 10 minutes the hair was falling and he still had a smile on his face. Great enviromnent for small children. 10/10 would reccomend.

Fantastic experience: Was looking for a hairdresser for my son's first hair cut and was recommended here. My son sat in one of the cars available and was very good. Kim was able to accommodate with him moving his head all around and was able to achieve a really nice hair style.

Kim also has toys for the kids to play with which is great for distraction and we are the only ones in the shop when our children get their hair cuts so we don’t have to worry when our son Jacob gets upset. Fantastic experience: The best kids barber we’ve been to! We ended up getting stuck in traffic and being late to our appointment, but Kim managed to juggle things round and still fit our little boy in, and we are so grateful! There were so many toys to keep him distracted, he has never been so happy getting his hair cut before. Fantastic experience: I took my toddler to Kim for the first time this week. He’s had a couple of hair cuts before but I resorted to cutting it myself last time after he hysterically cried in the barber shop near us. I heard about Kim and decided to make the 25 minute journey to her to see how it went. Honestly, Kim was amazing. So patient with him, followed him to cut his hair, praised him, engaged and played with him. By the end, he was sat in the car chair and didn’t want to leave! We won’t go anywhere else now for a hair cut!!

Fantastic experience: I was so nervous to take my little boy to a new barbers (just moved house) as he hates having his hair cut, but it was getting so long I had no choice. Well there was no need for me to be nervous as Kim was incredible!! I don’t think my lad even knew he was having his hair cut as Kim just let him play with the toys and cut his hair around his play. She was so patient and kind with him, there was not a tear in sight! Never would I think I’d see the day where a haircut wasn’t a trauma for everyone involved, but Kim proved me wrong. Fantastic experience: My son had his hair cut with Kim today for the first time. Upon first arrival, there was so many toys out for my toddler to play with. He immediately felt at ease and Kim was so kind and patient with him, despite my son moving every few seconds. I honestly have no idea how Kim managed to cut my son’s hair so well, given the amount of times he moved! There are so many toys available to keep kids entertained whilst having their hair cut, with an additional sensory room for further distraction if needed. Absolutely brilliant place and a lovely lady - thank you so much Kim for the first ever stress free hair cut for my son!! We will be back for sure. :)

Fantastic experience: Another successful visit at the weekend! We travel 30 minutes to visit Kim..She is amazing with my children ( both ASD) so much so that he actually looks forward to going now! Kim has all the patience in the world and has so much understanding..There are toys a plenty for the children and Kim will get down to their level on the floor whilst my son is settled and playing and cuts his hair at his pace .. Outstanding lady we don't mind traveling to see her and will now go nowhere else Cheryl x

Fantastic experience: My husband took my son to Kim while I was at work, he’s never liked anyone messing with his hair, gets really stressed when we wash it etc. it’s SO long and thick and curly and needed a trim. Kim has been recommended all over Longridge and she didn’t disappoint! I was so shocked to hear that he hadn’t flinched once, was so well distracted in the lovely shop (which she closed to walk ins while they were in there!) that he’s actually been asking to go back! We’ll book again soon for sure. Highly highly recommend especially if your child is easily distressed by hair cuts. Great work 10/10

Fantastic experience: Kim is wonderful with my three year old boy. He gets to play while she cuts. There are no interruptions because she closes the salon while we are inside. There are innumerable toys for him to choose from AND he gets a special juice & snack bag when we’re done! Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Would 100% recommend it! Kim exceeded my expectations. This was my daughters first visit and had never met Kim before, Kim was very calm and went with flow. My daughter was made to feel at ease. She even got her own treat bag afterwards. I can’t even brush my little boys hair without tears and somehow Kim cut his hair into the most beautiful little boys haircut without a single tear in record speed. Fantastic experience: My fiance and I visited Kim for the first time this week with our son, ready for his first hair cut. I was so nervous about how he’d behave but wow Kim knows her way around the scissors and babies. She was incredible! I have never seen such an amazing service for children’s haircuts before. Fantastic experience: I booked (very easy booking system) to have to my son's hair cut at Kim's because he had decided that he wasn't going to let anyone cut it. He had always got upset at the barbers before as well. My mum took him and said he didn't even notice that he was having his hair cut. This wasn't his original appointment, we called and she called back with a cancellation appointment. Kim just followed him about while he played - he keeps asking to go back to Kim's. His hair cut is lovely and the price was brilliant.

Fantastic experience: Kim is absolutely amazing at her job. She is so patient with my little boy with additional needs who finds it hard to have his hair cut and also finds new people hard too. She has been so patient and we are slowly getting there. We’ve been visiting Kim since before December and she is amazing every single time she always tries to make my little boy feel confident and comfortable when getting his hair cut. She is so kind and thoughtful. She goes the extra mile as she has nappies provided for babies and also a goodie bag for the children at the end with drinks and a snack. Fantastic experience: I drove 40 minutes to get to Kim ! My little boy had just little finger cut in the hast and it was the most traumatic experience so I have done my research for the best place to takie him for his first hair cut and Kim did not let us down !!! Charlie not even realised his had his hair cut ! He was playing happily while Kim just cut his hair just walking round him ! He was actually smiling ! I was also stressed because I loved my boy’s curls and Kim trimmed Charlie’s hair better that I could even imagine ! She litteraly red my mind ! I wanted Charlie’s hair to be short but still long haha and she knew what I meant ! We will be back all the time now ! Also the gift bag for Charlie made his experience even better ! And first cut certificate and curl in pretty bag will go to his treasure box ! This woman is an angel and what a talent to work with children !

Fantastic experience: It has always been such a battle getting my little boys hair cut due to his ASD, but today we had the most amazing positive experience with Kim. She followed him around letting him play, whilst cutting his hair. She didn’t force him, she gave him time and space. The shop is wonderful, equipped with all types of different toys, sensory toys and sensory lights. She has the patience of a saint and my little boys haircut is amazing to say she did it whilst he was moving around and playing. We have one very happy boy, who is usually so upset during/after his haircut. We didn’t have one tear or upset from him. We are so grateful, thankyou Kim

Fantastic experience: My son usually has meltdowns at normal hairdressers but we got to Kim's he went straight to the toys and Kim talked away to him until he felt comfortable enough to have his haircut even though she had to follow him around while he was playing she did a brilliant job and not a tear in sight. goody bag at the end was a nice extra. Fantastic experience: Took my 5 year old son for his first appointment with Kim yesterday, honestly, I was not expecting him to come away with his haircut as we normally struggle to get him through the door at a barbers but He spotted the toys and went straight in! Kim was just simply fantastic with him, we had a quick chat about his history and she just went with the flow, following him around the shop cutting his hair and he never bothered! Fantastic experience: Kim was great with my young children. She talked them through every step and managed to use clippers on my reluctant 5 year old. For my 2 year old son it was his first hair cut, he sat so nicely and calmly for the duration. Fantastic experience: AMAZING … Kim was fantastic, so patient, kind, and brilliant with my 3yr old who has a complete phobia of hairdressers. Would normally have a complete meltdown to the point he would be sick. Fantastic experience: I took my almost 3 year old son to Kim for the first time today after he had started to get restless and upset at previous ‘regular’ barbers getting his hair cut at his last few appointments. The online booking system is very easy to use and very welcome being able to choose a time slot rather than the traditional method of having to turn up and wait your turn, as this is never easy with a toddler’s attention span. The shop itself is amazing, so inviting to little ones. My son had a great time playing with the abundance of toys and was able to wander around at his own pace whilst Kim patiently followed him to cut his hair. He loved it so much he didn’t want to leave and the little snack goodie bag at the end was a very nice touch. Thank you, we will definitely be back for the next cut!

Fantastic experience: My son came to Kim’s today for the first time to get his haircut, we have always struggled to get his haircut as he has a sensory disorder and is autistic. Kim was wonderful from the start and knew exactly how to talk to him to put him at ease. I am normally extremely anxious when he’s getting his hair cut as he will often want to leave half way through. This wasn’t the case at all today he was at ease and calm all the way through and we ended with a lovely cut and finish!! I would highly recommend Kim and can’t wait to visit again!! ❤️

Fantastic experience: Amazing service! Kim's calm and gentle presence made my 4.5 year old son feel safe and relaxed. This lady gives children and their big feelings respect and understanding. Fantastic experience: Cannot thank Kim enough. She cut my two year old son's hair for the first time and she was amazing. So accommodating of little ones and so patient. Fantastic experience: Just wow! My little one never let me touch her hair plus sometimes she needs quite a time to get used to new people... we went in and she loved the place! She just started to play straight away with the toys and then no time and she got her first haircut. She sat calmly and I am grateful for this perfect experience! Son had a fear of loud noises but since we have been going Kim's the fear has gone and he happy using the hair trimmer which was a massive no no first few trips there

We brought our son (4 years old) to have his first proper hair cut this afternoon after trying elsewhere in the past with zero luck. We were nervous about driving 30 minutes just to come and have our son's hair cut in case the same thing was to happen again, but it was so worth it! Kim is welcoming, quick, talented, kind and professional, she is brilliant at distracting kids, and has some superb facilities. There's a car chair for them to sit in, a sensory room with lights, children's TV on to keep them relaxed, toys all around. It's top tier! Our son's hair looks so smart now and he's so proud and confident which is lovely to see. If you're looking for a hairdresser/barber who can keep your child calm, relaxed and comfortable for their entire visit and give them a great haircut in the process, book in! The goody bags were a lovely touch too. We can't wait to book in again, our son says he is excited to return. Thank you so much again.

Fantastic experience: It was a great experience getting our 17 month old son’s hair cut with Kim. She was so patient and great at distracting him. All the toys she used to distract him and keep him happy were really helpful and he loved the cars. She was also great at pausing whenever he needed a break and trying different strategies to distract him. We will be going again and would 100% recommend!

Kim is brilliant at her job and her shop is the best, so many things in place to make the little ones feel at ease and comfortable with their surroundings and lots of toys to keep them occupied too. Kim doesn't make you feel rushed (despite me being late) and he was given chance to get used to his surroundings before Kim began cutting his hair. He also received some treats before we left too. Fantastic experience: Just visited Kim’s today and couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. After reading the positive reviews as a mum I still felt anxious about taking my 2 year old after a few traumatic trips to a regular barbers in the past. Kim spent time letting my son get familiar with his surroundings, playing with the toys and moving around the shop. It was then a slow progression following his lead into the car chairs which he loved and slowly and steadily cutting his hair. No holding or crying or tears whatsoever. Kim has a kind caring demeanour and 100% caters for the needs of the child. I was certainly left feeling quite emotional after feeling pretty nervous going in. Kim’s will be our regular going forward thank you Kim!

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Kim enough for my sons hair cut today, he has adhd and doesn’t do well with hair being all over him. We’ve had nothing but trouble with barbers to the point he will not let them near him and has a whole screaming melt down. As a last resort before growing his hair long I took him to Kim today and she managed to cut his whole head with out him crying at all. Fantastic experience: What an amazing place for little ones! My little boy had his first cut last week, he was apprehensive at first but Kim made him so welcome and relaxed with her wonderful selection of toys and lots of patience! He ended up sitting in one of the cars very happily having his hair cut. Kim gave me a lock of his hair in a little bag with a lovely certificate too as a keepsake. My son even got to choose a little snack goodie bag. 10/10 fantastic value and service. Wouldn’t go anywhere else, we are SO lucky to have this on our doorstep in longridge! I found out about Kim from a random chap in a different barber shop who saw how distressed my toddler was with the man who was impatiently trying to attempt to get a robe onto him whilst I wrestled a mini trex! He said how great she was with his boy and after trying to persevere I gave up, walked out and went online to find Kim! The online booking is brilliant and much better than having to ring up. We got there- after getting slightly lost and I was already dreading going! My boy was happy to walk in and saw all the decorations up which he walked round looking at- Kim literally got down onto the floor to play and talk with him. He was reserved at first but came round as Kim kept coming and going to him. She showed him all the different toys which he thought was brilliant and out cbeeebies on for him. He was enjoying it all and was having a really good sing along on the keyboard with the mic on full blast! Kim out a sign up at the door so no one knocked- eventually she subtly went upto him and started just combing his hair. He was a little apprehensive and just said no- which Kim respected and stopped what she was doing but went and got him another toy. she continued to do this and each time he got better at allowing her near. Eventually he wanted to sit in the car for ‘chop chop’ Kim did a bit more and was extremely kind and oatient with him! Little by little he became more confident. Kim didn’t rush or make us feel guilty for being there so long- we were there ages! He was having a great time and he even got given a snack bag which he loved! We left and Kim refused to take any money even though she had out so much time into him and I wanted to pay her! She said because she hadn’t given him a full hair cut she wouldn’t accept any money! We rebooked for a week later and he was happy to come in and started playing straight away! He was much more confident this time and more forthcoming. I am amazed how good she is and I’m soo glad we found her to help him become more confident in having his hair cut! He now is looking forward to going again! Fantastic experience: We took our 1 year old son here for his first haircut! Before going my husband and I were both anxious, worried how the whole event would go. Well it went entirely better than we expected! Kim was amazing! She’s a total pro! First of all no one else is in the shop, she guides you throughout and her priority was to make sure our son was at ease and not overwhelmed. If he was a bit scared or started crying at any point Kim would stop and back off. Which we could then distract him with something else and Kim would wait for the next opportunity to continue with the hair cut. By the end our son sat happily in the highchair playing with some toys and was not fussed at all by Kim cutting his hair. We will definitely be going back with our son! Fantastic experience: My 3year old had suddenly developed a fear of a haircut, so after lots of recommendations we booked in with the incredibly patient Kim who followed him around on her knees while he played. 2nd visit he had almost a full haircut which is amazing!

Fantastic experience: Wow! I never thought a place like this existed, but it does. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and there was no rush to start cutting hair but my 16 month old daughter had time to explore her new surroundings and feel comfortable. When ready, Kim the hairdresser, put my daughter in the car and offered a treasure trove of toys for her to play with whilst her hair was cut. My daughter absolutely loved the fact there was a TV on that was showing cbeebies as her favourite programmes came on. After the haircut, my daughter was able to play around the salon again. A lovely safe space! Can't fault the environment, service, pricing value, kindness and toys offered at this establishment. You can tell the owner has put a lot of thought into how to set it out and how to support babies and youngsters when haircut time comes around. The final icing on the cake was the fact that because it was my daughter's proper first salon haircut she was given a certificate, goody bag and a tuff of hair to keep. Very heartwarming touch ❤️ Thanks Kim, we will be coming again just as soon as another haircut is required.

Fantastic experience: My 2 year had developed a phobia of having his hair cut after many successful cuts in the past. We’d given up hope of having his hair cut and it was getting so long and then I remembered Kim as she did his first ever cut at 11 months old. We took him to Kim today and she worked her magic and we have a super happy boy with a lovely fresh cut. She made him feel calm and relaxed and there were plenty of toys to distract him which really helped. Especially loved the sensory room which seemed to keep him calm and relaxed. Kim’s prices are so affordable and she offers out treats to the kids. We are not local but it’s a such a lovely place to go and I will definitely get my son’s hair cut there regularly now. It’s worth the drive out there just to have not have a teary toddler. Thanks Kim.

Fantastic experience: Kim was amazing with my son who really hates having his hair cut after a couple of bad experiences. I emailed to explain and Kim replied to reassure me that she understood and would listen to my son. At the appointment she was warm and friendly and quickly helped my son to settle. Fantastic experience: Absolutely highly recommend this place. Kim is amazing, attentive, calm and just pure gold. My son is very shy with new ppl and today he was in a particular moody toddler. However after a few mins with all the toys around him he was so happy. She’s managed to get my sons hair looking decent after another salon had bodge it up. And to end it all, there is a goodie bag for him that contains a bag of sweet, fruit shoot and crisps!!! This will now be our go to place.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic place! I took my 7 year old boy/girl twins for their first cuts with Kim today and she was amazing. She took my lad from shoulder length cut to very short for summer, keeping him comfortable and relaxed the whole time and leaving him feeling chuffed with his new, hip look. She sorted out my daughter's hair, which had been cut ragged at the bottom due to a sticky incident, and shaped the fringe she's growing out, so it looked deliberate and lovely. During all this Kim was totally at ease with all the noise playful kids make and was able to get them to sit still for her and cope perfectly when they did move. Highly recommend her!

Fantastic experience: I cannot praise Kim enough for making our experience so relaxed and stress free. We brought our 21 month old to have her hair cut after having a bad experience at another hairdressers. It had made me very nervous the way she had previously reacted so when we found Kim we wanted to give it a go. We required the hair appt last minute as going away next week and she contacted us back straight away after our enquiry and said she could fit us in which really was very kind. When we arrived she was instantly welcoming and asked about Ella’s background and what we wanted doing, Ella was allowed to play whilst Kim worked around during her hair which ensured we had such a pleasurable experience. Fantastic experience: We took our two boys (1 and almost 3) to get their haircuts today. It was the 1 year olds first cut and the 2 year old had long hair and hadn't had it cut since he was a baby so was quite anxious. Kim was absolutely amazing with them! She put no pressure on them and was happy to follow them around the room cutting whilst they played with all the toys. They even got a lovely certificate for their first cut and a goody bag too. We will definitely be back for their next cut!

He has always found hair cuts extremely distressing and Kim has been incredibly attentive and patient with us always, today he had a full hair cut with no tears for the first time, such a happy moment. Fantastic experience: Would honestly recommend Kim was amazing with my daughter who has had a facial injury recently and is very nervous of anyone being near her face. There was no rush to start or to get my daughter to sit in a chair kim got down on tge floor with her and let her explore and play while she worked around her. Fantastic experience: We booked our daughter's first haircut early this year and Kim was amazing with her. My shy daughter was kept playfully and tactfully occupied while her hair was trimmed without her even knowing. Due to our first good experience we went for her second haircut last week, all the way from Fulwood, and Kim was great and accomodating as ever. Fantastic experience: Just Brilliant!! Our little boy (21 months) was in this morning for a restyle and the first time experiencing clippers. Albie was allowed to play around the numerous toys and the shop, in and out of the cars etc all while Kim is working away, I don’t think he even knew he was having his hair cut.
