Fantastic experience: Barber Carr is a magician. I went in not really knowing what I wanted and trusted Mr Carr’s guidance. I couldn’t be happier with the result and have been back several times since. Gosforth is a bit of a trek, but it’s well worth it for a cut I know I’ll love.

The cut was fantastic (along with the rest of the experience) and Ally was very helpful walking me through the advice and what she would do with my hair and head shape to deal with the issues I had with my hair. However, there was an instant warm and welcoming atmosphere here and the staff were really friendly. I had Ally cut my hair and beard and I can’t speak highly enough! Darren is meticulous with his cutting and provides a very professional service in a relaxed and very pleasant atmosphere. Carr has a good personality even with his staff you can tell hes good to them especially since he was demstarating how things are done to one of his staff using my hair but kept me in conversation to still interactive with me but I was full chill mode so glad he got that haha. Fantastic experience: I have been going to Webster and Carr for the past 2 years and I can’t fault the experience. Barber Carr always has the time to listen and understand what hair cut I’m after. It is a premium service that isn’t rushed. As my time is precious being able to book in and know I’m not just hanging about is important. I fully recommend this barber.

Fantastic experience: Just had my first experience at Webster and Carr. I booked the presidential with Paolo. Now obviously it’s hard to know what came with the service and what Paolo did in gesture but I can only say how amazing the experience was from start to finish. Getting married at the weekend so was the perfect start and cannot recommend highly enough!

Positive experience: Update 17.05.2025 - I’ve been a returning customer to this shop since my first visit so feel it fair to update my review based on my experiences as a whole. The shop remains well kept and stylish, with knowledgable friendly staff. I also believe you get what you pay for and the services offered here are no different, they’re to a high standard and I’ve only been left disappointed with the end result once. The products used by the shop are great, and I’ve purchased products and aftershaves from the shop on more than one occasion. I was made aware a few months ago that I’d been booking myself into the system wrong using the online portal. I’d been selecting a haircut and then adding on a beard, which is more than the preset pack which includes both. It was only when a new member of staff checked the booking and made me aware that I realised I’d been overpaying around £10 per visit until that point. Another point on the booking system is by selecting ‘anyone’, they can then change who you have booked with even after the booking has been confirmed. The system also does not allow for refunds to be processed, this has to be done by way of manual bank transfer. I feel these points may be small on the whole, but are things I’d expect to be smoothed out given the idea of this being a more luxury and award winning shop. Whilst I’d still recommend the shop, I wanted to give a fair and accurate reflection of my experiences. Original Review (5*) - First time visiting Webster and Carr and it won't be my last. I can't recommend them enough. The service is top notch from when you walk in the door until you leave. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and talk through their process as you go. The shop is well kept and stylish. 11/10.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience at Webster and Carr! As a female, it can sometimes feel daunting walking into a barbershop, but from the very beginning, I felt completely at ease. Even my initial message asking if they cut women's hair was met with a warm and friendly response. Alison, the barber who cut my hair, was absolutely lovely—welcoming, professional, and really listened to what I wanted. She gave me the best haircut I’ve had in a long time and made the whole experience so comfortable. I would 100% recommend Alison and this barbershop to anyone. I’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: Outstanding! Needed a trim with me growing my hair out. Ally was superb. All of the knowledge and expertise to tame my mane. Asked all of the right questions along the way (including what my end goal was) to help taper the cut correctly. Cut exactly how I wanted it and she explained how it will come in and when to get the next cut etc. The shop is great, warm, friendly and welcoming. Fantastic experience: Been going here for a couple of years now and it is always an amazing experience. The team are always very welcoming and provide great banter throughout, and the quality of service is always 10/10. On my most recent visit Darren also took me through some of their newest fragrances they have been developing and I just had to treat myself to a bottle of “phantom” which is now one of my favourite fragrances!

Fantastic experience: I booked in for a beard trim along with 2 other friends as a pre-engagement treat. Wow. What an experience. Really this is a review from 3 people collectively. We want to say a big shout-out to Ally. She did an amazing job at making us feel welcomed, offering us a drink when we arrived and ensuring were well looked after throughout the treatments. We all had different requests and requirements. Ally made sure we felt comfortable in her hands. For myself it was my first professional shave and I can't wait to come back to get another now. The other 2 guys said it was the best shave they've ever had and are very impressed with the outcome. The shop overall had a great vibe with some music playing in the background. All of the other staff were very friendly and made an effort to speak with you as an individual as opposed to just a customer. The parking is very convenient with spaces in the shopping centre available

Haircut, beard grooming, hot towel shave, and the new steam machine were all top-notch and super relaxing. The added touch of the hair wash and head massage just shows how much they put into the service, perfect for heading back to the office after my cut and not being covered in stray hairs. Whole team great and me, my partner (there's a curly girl specialist hairdresser at the back) and my four year old son all get our hair done here. Darren also has a veritable apothecary of products and knows his stuff inside out. Special thanks for them helping make me presentable for my mums funeral at very short notice and for free.
