Negative experience: I sat down and asked for just a clean up. It looked like the youngest guy there he rushed my haircut. Didn’t even connect the top layer to the side layers, and just left me with a bull cut. Honestly worst haircut I have ever gotten. Nothing is aligned nothing is connected it just looks like someone slapped some hair on the top of my head and that’s it. My insecurities are through the rough

Fantastic experience: Been going to soussans for like 6-7 years now since I moved to Kingston, Soussan and her sister Nas are the sweetest two ladies! But recently I’ve been getting my hair cut by a gentleman named Deep. This guys the best, super chill dude and really patient with requests, super consistent my hair looks exactly how I request it every time. Shoutout DEEP!

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. My disabled father got his beard trimmed and the guy cut him twice and my dad bled a lot. The barber tried to whipe up the blood and said it was because my dad moved. He didn't even apologize. Awful customer service.

Fantastic experience: Soussan's $21 cuts are better than the $40-$50 dollar cuts I've received from around Kingston. She has 20+ years of experience, and it shows in her cuts! She has unmatched attention to detail, and a keen eye for style. One time, when Soussan was giving me a haircut, another waiting customer tried hurrying her up by showing her the time on their own phone. Soussan ignored him and took her time on my haircut, telling me "I make sure myself or none of my barbers ever speed up for the sake of getting more customers done. It would not be fair." I though this was exceptionally moral of her. And the haircut she gave me was outstanding. Thanks Susan!

And she does a wicked-good goatee trim too! Now that my hair is way past my shoulders, I don't go in as often but when I do, it is such a joy. I won't trust my hair to anyone else. Soussan always does exactly what I ask and the laughs and pleasant banter are added bonuses. She is the best!

Fantastic experience: I usually hate haircuts. As a student, I usually wait to get it cut at home during the break. I’m usually super anxious in the chair with a plastered on fake smile. I usually hate my hair for a week after. I asked my curly haired friend to recommend a place in Kingston and he said not to go here. But everywhere else was full and this friend is super picky, so I decided to give Soussan’s a shot. I wanted a long mullet. When I got there, Nas, my stylist, was super friendly. She was just watching a music video with 80s and 90s style curly hair and loved it, so I knew I was in the right hands. She was super fun with a nice and comforting voice. This time, I didn’t have to fake a smile. She gave me a haircut better than any I’ve had since the pandemic, and she did it in a third of the time. Whenever I tell a hairdresser to keep the length in the back, they always “even it out” and take off half the hair. Nas evened it out really quick and kept it long like I wanted. It was refreshing to have a haircut I liked right away. If you’re looking for a haircut in Kingston, especially a mullet, Nas at Soussan’s will come in clutch. Thank you

Negative experience: Went for a haircut maybe 5 times and the guys and other lady was good and 5 stars for them. And I was so happy with my haircut but this time I came back after 10 days for beard and haircut and the other old lady was free to cut my hairs and that was my worst decision omg I am regretting so bad She destroyed my hair, I told her do what looks good on my face and now I look terrible haha. The indian guys are amazing no offence for someone maybe she don’t know what suits on Asian face but from next time I just want haircut from guys sorry I’m very upset. My hair and beard was good before and now I am looking old omg. She even doesn’t used razor to remove my extra facial hairs which includes in bread trimming but yaa I am regretting now.

Negative experience: I asked for a fade and The blonde lady left a huge bald spot on my head. She tried saying it was alopecia.. she was making excuses, she went on her phone for 5 minutes during my hair cut and was making a big fuss because I was sweating . Sorry it's winter time and my coat makes me hot. I don't know what her problem was with me , I've gone there a few times and had a good haircut. Too blame her bad hairdressing on a medical disease is so wrong. I left feeling embarrassed and ashamed. I will never go back there again, I still had to pay for the horrible haircut . And that bald spot wasn't there the day before and it's growing back . Thanks Soussans for the horrible experience!

Negative experience: This place is honestly 50/50. Gotten some of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten from here and also some of the worst… I never ask for anything special. Talking to my friends, they’ve had similar experiences here. Come prepared with a hat just incase.

Negative experience: Fade was alright but absolutely butchered the front. Place also has no debit machine and assuming no AC because it was way to warm.

Fantastic experience: Found this place totally by chance because they were the closest thing without a line...and I'm so glad I did! Abi is a fade & beard wizard. So crisp and smooth. He kept making suggestions and I just went with it. I can't believe he doesn't have a following yet. It's the first time in years that my wife asked where I got my hair done because she liked it so much. The only thing I'm upset about is that I didn't stumble across him sooner!

Negative experience: I went in and asked for a textured fringe and the girl faded one side of my head and didn't fade the back like I asked, I even provided a picture and said I want it like my brothers haircut (my brother was in the room with us) and she made my hair at the front stick up into the air, I hated it.

Negative experience: Walked in there with my three little ones for my little girl to get a haircut. The vibe was so eerie and quiet that the kids were extremely uncomfortable. The three workers that were cutting hair not a single smile, no one talking to their clients, I thought someone maybe had died. Either way decided against getting our haircut there and went to Dino's across the street. Where they smile and speak to all their clients, usually music playing and laughter throughout. Won't be going back here.

Fantastic experience: My 13yr old wanted to visit an actual barbershop instead of a walk in hair dresser, to clean up for grad photos. We googled barbers and headed to one. Unfortunately they were closed for the day and a lovely lady happened to walk past us on the sidewalk and recommend Sousann’s. So we went and we are SO happy we did! (It turns out the lady was Sousann haha). I didn’t catch the name of the young man who cut my son’s hair but my son was thrilled that the man listened to him, and took the time to actually cut my son’s hair the way he had in mind. (The walk ins have given fine hair cuts, but it’s always been the classic/basic boy cut, not what my son requested). We will absolutely be back for his next clean up. We were definitely in the right place at the right time to meet Sousann that day!

Positive experience: Cheap price but the day cut my hair wasn't well enough. I was going to at Dino's bt it was closed so I had to go here! May be other barbers at Soussan are better but that lady was not one of them.

Negative experience: Very bad experience from that guy. I don’t know where he give attention I told him the hair cut but he did totally wrong. I don’t know who had given him certificate. Homeless can do better haircut than him.

Positive experience: Soussan does a great job cutting hair but most of all she is very kind. She brings in coffee for clients and gives parking change out for people in need. There is no booking in advance so first come first serve, but the price is very good, so I don’t mind waiting more.

Negative experience: Would give 0 stars if I could. Hair was fairly long and I told the guy I wanted to keep my hair long but wanted neck hairs cleaned up. This man gave me a short bowl cut. I look like Jim Carey in Dumber and Dumber

Fantastic experience: I have hard hair to cut and traditionally has taken hairdressers 5 or 6 times to figure out how to give me an average cut. Soussan gave me the best cut I've ever had on her first try, and it cost $30 less than all the others!

Negative experience: Visited a couple of times and received decent haircuts. Went in some years back and a younger gentleman who has absolutely no business practicing the craft mercilessly hacked me up on top and then shaved my beard WITHOUT ASKING. After calling the owner to complain, she agreed to refund my money. When I arrived, I went to collect my cash at which point this same guy comes over and snatches it away claiming the haircut was satisfactory and that I did not deserve a refund. After much arguing in front of a host of customers, I got my money and have never returned. Hopefully, he has since left or got GOOD.

Negative experience: Went 3 times total. 2 times were done by a lady who did a great job. Today a guy did my hair. I asked for a fade and he buzzed most of my head and now the buzzed "fade" is lopsided. The guys working there definitely don't know asian hair. The bottom edges got trimmed but he didn't trim the entire sideburns properly (he split it down the MIDDLE) and I had to go home and finish the haircut myself. If you're an asian don't bother coming here

Negative experience: Staff was nice but they really messed up my hair, spent about 4 months growing out my hair to try get a neat mullet and they just chopped it all off to "make it even". The fade on the sides was terrible too one side much higher than the other, one side squared one side rounded.
