Fantastic experience: Raffi is the guy, if you’re going man cave ask for Raffi.

Fantastic experience: Raffi is the best barber in the game. Been going to him for a while now and wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. Clean fades, sharp lines, and consistent every single time.

Negative experience: Came in for a light trim before a conference, and a $31 hair cut turned into $50. Little did I know, but apparently I have long hair (I guess anything longer than 4" constitutes long hair). I wasn't told anything about this up front. Got charged an extra $9 for my "long" hair. The cut was OK, but a quick trim at best. And 25% default tip when you go to pay...nice.

Fantastic experience: I'm from out of town and came in here because it was one of the few places with open slots on a weekend kind of last minute, didn't expect much but Tasha fixed up the abortion that another barber left on my head last time I got a cut. There wasn't much to work with but she did it and now I don't have to wear that stupid hat everywhere I go, I'll call that a great success.

Positive experience: Abdul is by far one of the best barbers I've had, (I've visit plenty barber shops across canada), my first time I was lucky to book an appointment with Abdul and got a great service and haircut, the other 3 times booked with 3 different barbers which weren't ready when I got there so i got a different one and the service was rushed, didnt cut my hair the way I wanted neither the length, nothing compared with the first time, but when you are paying the machine tip out is above 20%, went back to give it another chance since its close to my apartment and was able to booked Abdul again, and I can only say amazing! He's a great person, super easy to talk with and skilled as well.

Fantastic experience: Lately, I have been going to Man Cave Yaletown every 2 or 3 weeks to get a trim (though previously on and off, so overall monthly for at least 2 years), because I trust Edmon's skills. He's experienced, pragmatic, and efficient - i.e., he knows hair texture and hair styles after having delivered thousands of haircuts. I will always recommend Edmon or wait to get a haircut from him, because he's simply very good at what he does. I also had one haircut from Abdu, and he's good. If you get either Edmon or Abdu, remember to specifically tell them what you're looking for in a haircut. The Man Cave Yaletown location lives up to its reputation by delivering a relaxed vibe and responsive customer experience. So, if you visit, you'll enjoy - just be nice, because they'll be nice to you.

Negative experience: I wanted a mullet but got a full cut even though I said I want a mullet. As well I was not asked how long my hair should be cutted. My hair was ruined after it. I am from germany and it destroyed my travel to canada

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this “beard line up” with Tasha, the line is not straight and there’s a piece missing. I’ve come here a few times out of convenience, because I live very close by. This is not the first time that she’s done a subpar job, but I’ve overlooked it in the past. There were many instances of lack of attention to detail, and she had disconnected my beard near the mouth area without confirming with me. The most frustrating thing is that she has a bad attitude when you tell her to fix something she overlooked. I will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to man cave for my haircuts for 10 years now and I’ve gotten a great cut every time. I started going to the Metrotown location after searching for a good barber for years and I’m now going to the downtown location which is just as good. Ask for Raffi at the downtown location for your next cut.

Negative experience: Gave this spot a second chance after one year and the same bad experience. Barbers don’t follow instructions and end cutting more than necessary. Just as last time went for hairline trim and got charged for a full Haircut. Not coming back ✌️ Because the owner chose to respond without completely understanding the situation (as expected) I’m taking the time to clarify that “taking some off the top” only happened because the barber started to the taper up from the side after the line up was already done. I never asked for that!!! The appointment booking had a clear message I’m there for a line up and the barber was informed I’m growing out my hair and just need a line up. This is eerily similar to what happened the first time as well. Clearly, this establishment needs to either train their barbers better or maybe they’re training them to deceive the customers. I rarely do reviews so rest assured I was (am) extremely frustrated. I paid your barber full price for the “haircut” and walked out. Had to get a proper haircut the next day. So respectfully save your apologies because it was a repeat pattern.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting this place as I'm new to the area. Highly recommend! Raffi did an amazing job getting my hair back to an amazing Mohawk. I know Mohawks can be a it tricky, but Raffi did an amazing job and love how it turned out.

Fantastic experience: I've been here mainly for Abdu. He's a magician and a master of his craft. He understands what goes well with whom and gives an honest opinion about your ideas. It's sort of like a therapy talking to him. TBH, I've never been more satisfied with a barber in Vancouver, that's how much of an amazing job Abdu does. The rest of the staff are courteous and the place is maintened well. It does get busy during the evening peak timings, but booking an appointment has never failed me.

Negative experience: I booked online and picked 2 random barbers for my nephew and I. I thought I was gonna be late so I called them at 11:40am just to make sure. When I arrived, they said their system booked a barber that's off on that day. So I'm gonna have to wait, they could've done that when I called. I had to wait for a barber who's chatting with a customer for 25 mins yes they were just chatting. Then when he was about to cut my hair first thing he said " yea it's new years eve and everyone wants to look good blah blah blah " like he didn't wanna work. When I was gonna pay I used a gift card that was given to me and they checked the balance and they saw how much was in it but they couldn't make it work. Again their system. So they were making me pay and said just use the card on my next visit... LoL after this experience, would I go back and was I supposed to tip?

Negative experience: I went last week as usual to this location and ask for my barber Edmund but unfortunately he does not work there anymore. I tried with this barber called Gio and was one of the worst cuts I ever had on my life, If you want to ruin your hair and get a mid treatment go with Gio he will make sure your hair is messed and ruined.

Negative experience: Kept insisting to give me a fade on the sides and back when it’s not what I wanted. To be fair he did a good job but it’s just not the haircut I wanted. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for barbers to just listen. I gave in after him persisting practically the entire time. He kept bringing up how long my hair was which was kind of weird. The top was probably 6 inches. Then after using a razor for my sides and back, charged me a long hair fee. How does a long hair fee make sense if you’re only using scissors for the top?

Positive experience: I found the Man Cave a couple years ago while enjoying a cold drink on the Banter Room patio on a sweltering hot day. My fade was getting a bit unruly so I popped in for a quick cut, as needed to get the sides taken down. I ended up seeing Edmund for my first cut and received a great cut in about 20-25 minutes time. An excellent fade with a part line cut in and cleaned up with a razor. High and tight just like I wanted. It made the heat bearable lol. I've been back to see a number of the barbers working at the Man Cave and have always received a good cut. The fades are always clean and smooth, and as it is a barber shop they will go short if you say 'short', so be aware of that when you sit in the chair lol. In all, a great spot that I frequent if I'm in the area or for when I can't get in to see my regular girl. Good cuts, a clean shop, professional service, decent pricing and prompt quick service. A great place for a quick cut!!

Negative experience: Honestly, don't ever go here. I've given them multiple chances, and it's just becoming intolerable. I am extremely thorough and upfront when it comes to what I want for my hair. I take a few minutes when I sit down on the chair to explain exactly what it is that I want, and how important it is to NOT mess up my part/hairline since some barbers won't understand how my hair behaves when it's short vs long, where my cow lick is, etc. I go there for a haircut, get it completely botched. So then they offer a fix with a different barber (great service at the least). I have to take another trip there, pretty much sit through another whole haircut (another hour out of my life). Was the second hair cut better? Yes, but my side part was cut at such a sharp angle vs how it was originally that it would now take months to fix that. the next time I go there for a haircut, I go to the same barber (the one who fixed it) and he's a very nice guy - but he completely messed up the front of my hair this time. I compared pictures of before & after the haircut, and it's LAUGHABLE. The front shouldn't have been touched, but he decided to go ahead and make a joke out of it. I do not recommend. while the people are nice, it's clear that they don't have the skill or the capacity to listen. (just to be clear - I wear glasses, so I often can't see and I make it very clear that if they're not sure to let me know and double check with me...)

He suggested many haircuts and styles. I wanted something for work and also could be a little playful on the weekends. I was so impressed I felt I was listened to and understood. Fantastic experience: I have been visiting John, the Irish gentleman, for many years now, and he has never disappointed me. He is very accommodating with his schedule and always does superior work on my hair. Additionally, he is very friendly and patient.

Negative experience: I don't often write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so because of the terrible haircut I got here. I am okay with the barber giving me a haircut I don't love as long as the quality is OK. In this case, I got a bad haircut, and the quality was one of the worst I have had. The barber, John, seemed uninterested, careless and rushed (the haircut took 10 minutes). I told him what I was hoping for and he disregarded this and left me with a generic and lop-sided haircut. In retrospect, I can see that these complaints about John's service have been voiced in the past. I am disappointed management has not addressed this yet. I am highly dissatisfied with the service and would not recommend this barbershop.

Negative experience: I've been a customer of Mancave for over 4 years now and come by for a haircut every 3 weeks. I been a customer of Joe and John over the years depending on who was working. Usually I would go to Joe if he was working because he was the first barber I used, and because at times John would come across as very moody and somewhat rude. I'm usually time conscious so when Joe was not working I would go to John for a haircut rather than coming back another day. Joe left Man Cave and this review is NOT about him. He provided 5 star service and treats his customers well. When Joe left, I called and asked for an appointment with John. The receptionist asked John if he had any clients waiting for him and he confirmed that there was nobody waiting and I could come by for an appointment. Given I was under a time constraint, I expected to be seen shortly after he finished his current client. When I arrived the receptionist went over and spoke to John to confirm I had arrived. The situation changed once John saw me walk in. John whispered something back to her and she came to inform me that John has 3 clients waiting for him and he could not take me until after that. (I was the only client in the barbershop at this point) This is the second time an incident like this has happened with John. Previously Joe was not available and I asked if John was available instead. He again had nobody in the waiting area and told me that he had 3 clients waiting for him. I've experiencing this treatment on two occasions where my time was wasted and I've felt needlessly rejected by Mancave. I even asked the receptionist if John gave an explanation but she did not have anything to say. Despite 4 years as a consistent customer, I cannot see myself returning to the establishment. I'm not sure why exactly John is forming personal vendettas against long term customers without offering any explanation. I reached out to the manager months ago about this incident but received no reply which is why I am leaving the review here.

Negative experience: Went here once when I was in highschool and I still remember it clear as day till today. I asked for a fade and just trim the top shorter and this lady I had proceeded to give me freaking a buzz cut. Even the other lady in the front desk looked surprised with my cut when i came by to pay for something i can do myself with my eyes closed. I cried inside never came back here again.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing John for 3 years now. He is super efficient, gives awesome haircuts and great banter. Can’t recommend him or mancave enough ! Best place in Van for a haircut!

Fantastic experience: I was traveling to this great city for work and I dire need of knocking down my crazy hair. I found this thru Google Maps, read the really good reviews so I just walked over. I got there a little after 5pm so the area was buzzing with all of the outside dining choices. I was greeted by a lovely woman who checked me in immediately and asked me to grab a seat in the well appointed waiting area. (which has free Wi-Fi). I didn't wait long before Raffi called me back to his chair. He is very affable, attentive and efficient. I explained how I usually get my hair cut and he said no problem and even offered a different look which as much as I would like to try, we both agreed that this was not going to help my cause. They have lots of services but all I needed was a cut ($29) but if I had more time I would have gone for the wash, cut, dry/style. If ever you (or I) find yourself in this fare town n need of a cut, go here and get it done in no time and you will not be disappointed. Plus you may even be able to get Raffi like I did. He knows his way around a clipper & scissors.

Negative experience: Avoid this barber shop My recent visit (July 22, 2023 at 2:40 - 2:50 PM) to a nearby barbershop left me extremely dissatisfied. I had high hopes for a good haircut base on other reviews, but it was rushed and careless. The barber, John, seemed in a hurry right from the start. The entire haircut lasted only 10 minutes or less, which was shocking me (normally I had a haircut more than 30 mins) . Although I didn't give John detailed instructions; I just wanted a simple trim on the sides and a significant reduction in length on the top. However, he quickly started cutting without considering which hairstyle would suit me best. The rushed service left me with an unimpressive and generic haircut. I expected a relaxing and enjoyable experience, but it was far from it. I felt disappointed and unsatisfied. Also, John used the same trimmer on both sides of my head, without using any specific skills or techniques. The final result was a rushed and basic haircut that lacked a professional touch it made me felt like the 10$ haircuts you might find along Victoria Drive, or even worse. My experience at this barbershop was terrible. The rushed and careless service by John was a huge letdown. If you want a quality haircut and a more attentive barber, I suggest looking elsewhere for a better experience.

Raffi provides an amazing experience every time I'm in the store and the way he holds and strikes a conversation with each and everyone of his clients is something every one who is in customer should strive for.

Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience with Tasha in Yaletown. She listened to me, I brought a photo reference of the cut I wanted and she explained to me in detail what she was going to do in order to give me the same result. She explained me all the options all the way and listen carefully to my needs. I couldn't recommend her more. Thanks Tasha!

Fantastic experience: Walked in without any appointment and only had to wait two minutes…. I am as in and out in roughly 30 minutes… Geo did a fantastic job with my hair and shave via clippers…. Would absolutely recommend to anyone
