Negative experience: SENIORS BEWARE..I had a haircut by Nicole wednesday feb 4 2026.. I told her I wanted messy ontop whispy sides. Place was empty. Located by farmboy on taunton and harmony area.. She took a very long time..I thought she was taking her time.. she used a razor even though I told her my neck was done with 3 blade.. her response was she told me it was similar to that of blade 3.. my top was to be messy and whispy by my ears .. I have thick hair. It's now flat at back..cut is horrible ..I have macular degeneration in my eyes and I didn't see the mess until I got home. She asked me if I liked it I couldn't see..Patrick asked me if I liked it..what am I going to say..its not a messy cut ...it's a spikey cut.. I don't like to complain..it's going to take about 6 weeks to grow..I didnt ask for blade. I prefer scissors.. when I paid I was charged $30. Extra Because of her time. Not because they were busy..they were empty. A bad hair cut plus 30 extra from a seniors fixed income.. Char tried to fix it..they offered me free cut..I WANT MY MONEY BACK..I WONT GO BACK..TRUST IS BROKEN.. I'M FUMMING .. THIS IS ABUSE YOUVE LOST ME AS A CLIENT..

Negative experience: Brought my son in for his second hair cut here . First one was with Barb and it was excellent , hair was washed , cut super well we were exceptionally happy. This afternoon was a different story … bare minimum , the hairstylist gave him a horrible cut and could clearly see that we were not happy with it at all and insisted it was fine . When a customer doesn’t look happy in your establishment that’s an opportunity to make things right . Clearly not the case here . Doubt we will come back despite the great experience with Barb .

Negative experience: Got the worst hair cut ever. I went it because my school is next day and got the worst hair and beard trim. They did not use ustra/blade to shape the beard. Over all a waste of $60 also a lot since I am a student.

Negative experience: I reiterated to my stylist over and over that i do not want much length off, less than an inch just to clean up the back and sides as i am growing out my hair from a buzz cut. I made sure to express this many many times so there would be no confusion. She ended up taking off at-least 2 inches everywhere, even the top which i specifically asked to not be touched much at all. I did not say anything at the end of the cut as i was on the verge of tears. My boyfriend called to inquire about a refund and they said that i could come in to have it fixed but it’s so short now it can’t be fixed.

Fantastic experience: Went in to get my bad haircut from another establishment cleaned up and fixed and my barber did an amazing job. Not only was she very friendly, she did exactly what I wanted and was open to any requests I had concerning my haircut. AND I got a free drink from it when I was done

Negative experience: Brought in my 2.5 year old for his first hair cut. full thick hair. My son's beautiful hair was butchered. He was a perfect client..not a squirmy toddler or anything like that. He looks ridiculous. I wish I could add a photo to this post. I never said anything bcuz I hate making people feel bad about their work but I'm so sad. Think twice before bringing your toddler here..or maybe just to the older Asian women.

Fantastic experience: My Oshawa Centre Tommy Gun’s hairdressing experience was excellent. Reception was friendly and professional. Ruth, my hairdresser, was attentive and made the haircut I described become reality. She was meticulous but expertly quick. The scalp massage she gave with my shampoo was very relaxing as well. Fantastic experience: I went yesterday evening for a haircut and it was my first time coming to this location. I’ll definitely be returning. Amazing experience and far better than other locations for me. I had Barb cutting my hair and she was amazing. She had full confidence and knowledge in cutting especially compared to most others in the past with my curly hair. She was extremely friendly and was amazing to deal with! I’ll be returning to this location and requesting Barb in the future!

Negative experience: Got a haircut from Barbara. Was $42 after tax. She used so much force with the hair brush that my scalp is still stinging a few hours later, hopefully I didn’t lose too many hair follicles. In retrospect I should’ve said something but she wasn’t the most friendly and I was afraid of angering the person with the razor. the haircut itself is alright. Not exactly what I asked for but I can still go outside

Negative experience: Booked my husband a check in and he got there and it had disappeared. They would not put him in the queue after waiting an hour and said he had to wait another hour. This location is always busy with huge wait times. Be prepared for that when you go.

Negative experience: Been coming here for a long time. Never had any issues until today. I called an hour in advance to get a haircut and the lady told me as long as I arrive before 8pm they can take me in for a haircut. I show up at 7:45 and the lady tells me they’re fully booked and that I should’ve have made an appointment over the phone. While talking on the phone, I asked to make an appointment and she told me they don’t take appointments over the phone. Misleading information and when I showed up, the reception lady gave me attitude and was rude to me. I told her it’s a loss of my business and I usually tip 10$ on top of my haircuts and she goes “oh well not my problem” and I mentioned I would leave a review and she goes “go ahead I don’t care”.. not sure who the lady was but she was working reception Tuesday until close. Horrible service and I drove from Whitby to get a haircut just to be told they can’t take me anymore. Never coming back here again.

Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with this place. The staff was welcoming and provided refreshments while I waited. I went for a bread trim and straight razor shave. The gentleman that provided this was very skilled, took his time and was very particular about the service provided. I found overall the staff during my appointment was fantastic and the customer service was great. I will be coming back and this is refreshing to see.

Negative experience: My issue isn't with my hair cut. Its with the woman they have at the counter. I called, and had been told numerous times they will schedule in same day appointments, which I've been doing for a few years now. The woman behind the counter argued with me over the phone when I asked to clarify I couldn't make an appointment. Then began to "make sure I understood " they don't take appointments. Regardless if the policy had changed, only bring enforced recently, the way she chose to express herself was incredibly rude Ive been coming here for a few years and previously have had great experiences but I will be searching for a new barbershop after this. As someone who works in customer service, if that was my daily tone I wouldn't have a job, seriously disappointed that such great experiences can be soured by one spiteful person.

Negative experience: I’ve been here a few times. I just went to the Oshawa Center location and the receptionist asked if my son sat well. When I replied yes, she smirked when typing looking like “yeah right”. She told me to come back at 3 pm and if it was earlier she would call me. I’m walking back to the store with two kids in both hands for 3 pm and I see my son’s name on the board. It literally gets wiped out while I’m in the store and she tells me she called me 5 times. To which point I check my phone and she called 3 times 5 minutes ago, 2 minutes ago, and 1 minute ago. When I tell her that, she says that her barber has been waiting for 10 minutes as if that’s my fault when she only called me 5 minutes ago. Then she said that we would have to wait for 20 minutes. I would have waited if it wasn’t for her terrible attitude. I am not supporting a business that employs someone that is terrible at customer service when that is literally her only job at the store. If she wasn’t so rude, I would’ve waited. I don’t know who hurt her but she needs some help working out her issues so she doesn’t project it on to other people.

Fantastic experience: Barb is a saint! Got a bad mullet a while before and came in with the no hassle return policy to get it fixed and felt a bit embarassed. She worked carefully and took her time, turning a bad haircut into a great one! Even without a concrete idea of what I wanted in mind, she helped fix what I had and made me feel better about myself. She’s the best for sure! (p.s. Thank you to the receptionist for letting me charge my phone earlier as well!)

Negative experience: Don’t bother if you have a beard they have absolutely no idea what there doing asked to do a simple beard fade barber had no idea what she was doing made it all different lengths told her to shave it all off by the end of her trying to recover it lol I’d say there on the same level as “first choice” Part 2- unless you can glue my hair back on and beard there’s nothing you can do to fix it lol my hairs so uneven/ choppy only fixing is a buzz cut which I’d rather go to first choice they’d probably do a better job and you already shaved my whole beard off from messing it up so bad so im good thank you!

Fantastic experience: We can not say enough good things about our experience at Tommy Gun's Oshawa Centre. The front desk (Darren) was so sweet to my adult autistic son, he had a kind smile and I didn't feel rushed. The barber (Aram) listen to all of our concerns and recommendations to make the experience easier for my son. I forgot to mention to him that my son doesn't like the electric razor, so when that came out I panicked internally not knowing how my son would react, but he closed his eyes and let Aram do this thing. The haircut and beard trim turned out way better than I expected. We will definitely be back.

Negative experience: Second time here thought I’d try again and I came in at 3 pm and they close at 7 yet I was told they stopped taking anyone since they are fully booked. Honestly do they expect me to come as soon as they open to be served by closing? Super ridiculous- I don’t see them being in service for much longer.

Fantastic experience: Loved how my hair turned out, just bleached it today and it looks fantastic even a few days after, when usually my hair will start to make me feel self conscious a little after my cut, absolutely LOVED how my stylist handled the fact my anxiety was worrying me, and loved his bubbly personality! Definitely recommend this salon, been going here since 2022 and they always know how to make me smile and feel good about my hair cut!

Fantastic experience: I went for the first time yesterday. The service was friendly and encompassed a wash and cut together for an affordable price. Both the physical atmosphere and the workers’ energy were warm, welcoming, and pleasant. Will become a regular. :)
Negative experience: Very bad attitude by the receptionist. On a busy Saturday, When we told her that we have come for our two year old daughter’s haircut, she demanded that we guarantee that the kid shouldn’t be screaming on the chair in a very bad tone. Tell me Madame which parent can give a guarantee like that? A simple no would have been better than your weird tone and attitude as well as saying you can’t accommodate female haircuts on weekends. And if you don’t like to cut a non white persons hair, then say that. Just stop with this bs attitude.

Negative experience: Worst experience! I was told initially wait will be 10-15 minuts and it has been close to an hour but no service. There were two barbers standing free. I went to ask the reception twice and wasn't given a good response. Very rude! It was as if they did not want to cut my hair.

Negative experience: Horrible hair stylist, and they move your appointment to accommodate walk ins. The front lady is rude and obnoxious. Diana is the only good hair stylist they have, but I guess I will go to her directly.

Negative experience: I paid for a faded beard trim and the girl who did it wasn't listening and kept rushing to get me out of the chair. I had to keep telling her what to do over and over and I still had to go home and fade my beard myself... wasted my money. I did a much better job when I got home myself.

Negative experience: I am very dissatisfied by the haircut received from Rob. I showed multiple reference photos of a particular style and asked for length on the top for styling. Instead, I was left with a cut akin to the quality I'd expect from First Choice or Great Clips, but at double the price. The fade was nearly non existent, and I have almost no length left on top. Can't put the hair back on so even though their guarantee says they'll fix it, I'd like to know how that's possible? You going to give me extensions? I tried this place cuz my partner had a good experience with another stylist but I don't think I'll ever go back. Better off paying more for a proper stylist elsewhere. Oh and I didn't even get their supposed guaranteed wash, scalp massage, and hot towel finish. Ridiculous.

Negative experience: If you want to sit around for an hour for a 10 minute hair cut and spend double than normal prices this is the place for you To be clear I mean the haircut itself took an hour when it should have been no more than 10 minutes.

Negative experience: They don’t take appointments so I put my name down and was told I would have a 20 minute wait. Since I had a wait I told the receptionist that I would take a walk. I don’t get a call for 40 mins and come back to find someone else was ahead of me in queue and that the manager made a mistake when entering in their name I asked why I never got a call but was told it was my mistake not to have come back in 20 minutes. The receptionist was rude and has zero people skills. Am never coming back despite being a customer for 3+ years

Negative experience: Lost reservation after waiting 1 hour. Reception says I never had it and it did not register but app was stuck for 1 hour wait so restarted the app and lost the appointment. What a waste of time. When I get the booking. Vilma herself is great just the appointment system via app ruins the experience

Negative experience: OMG this place is stupid. We booked at 12. Wait time an hour and a half. We come in, half hour wait... So we come back. Wait time 58 minutes.... Girl had to go on break. So we come back, wait time 25 minutes. All this for a haircut for an 8 year old.

Negative experience: Unprofessional. The attire by the person manning the phones was unprofessional and inappropriate. I was told they don’t do appointments but put me on a list so my son would have his hair cut at 1. Then that time was moved to 1:45. I was told that the barber who was better at creating designs in my son’s hair would be available for that time slot. She was not good. She was to do a Batman symbol and when she was finished she shrugged as if to say “whelp that’s the best I could do”. She was also argumentative when I just wanted to confirm that my son will also be having a hair cut, the hair dresser said “yea I know that’s what I’m doing”. Just a very unfriendly and unprofessional environment.

Positive experience: Can’t make appointments and always too long of a wait. If you have the time to sit and wait around for an hour to get a haircut good for you. Most people make appointments to plan their schedules around things. Completely unpractical

Fantastic experience: Barb did a great job with my son and was very patient with him! Fantastic experience: Great staff, clean facility and excellent prices. Special shout out to Barb! She has instantly become my go to barber after an exhaustive search of the GTA. She's sweet, personable, and very confident with her tools. I have very straight hair that has given many barbers a lot of trouble but she handles it with ease and has given me the best haircut I've had in years. I also hear she's great with kids! Negative experience: The worst shave you could ever imagine. Literally sent me away bleeding - in like 9 places. And after all the pain from nicks and cuts, it’s still not even a half decent shave. This caused me literal pain, was a total waste of money, and I’m really hoping I develop a skin infection from whatever excuse for a service this was. This is not normal. I’d love to hear from somebody on your management team. This is unacceptable.

Negative experience: I got my hair cut here today. Upon getting home and washing out the styleing products I discovered how incredibly uneven my hair is! Looks faided on one side and like a undercut on the outher.. im extremely disappointed. I dont enjoy being made to look a fool so I will not be back.

Negative experience: Yo what the hell. A hot towel shave and a haircut is now 97$ and that's without tip. I guess women are used to paying those prices for hair care but these are rough economic times for all of us. It's a dilemma for those who need to make the money too by providing these services but seriously? Signing in the pricing was not clear between clean cut and hair cut and shave. Well live and learn. Will stick to my personal barber for shaves anyway, me. Nothing wrong with service or care, always excellent cuts and shaves, I'm just really blown away. A year ago price was at top just over 70$ for both. Update response: unless they have a doctorate in hair science, I'm not paying 97$ plus tip. It's you who will lose the business. For your unapologetic response I've taken off a star.

Negative experience: If I could put 0, I would do that. I will recommend to avoid that place, because I have never had such a bad haircut in my life. My wife was shocked, when she saw me after a visit to this place. I even don't want to look in the mirror, so bad it is. The haircut is so short and ugly, that it will take me at least two months to recover. You guys are buthers, not barbers.

Negative experience: FOLLOW UP … there has been no follow up. I keep getting emails saying I will be contacted by a manager. It’s been 2 weeks and nothing. My son just came home in tears. His hair cut and the picture he showed the stylist are not even close. To pay so much money and be disappointed time and time again. This is the last time we will be giving our service.

Negative experience: My wife has cut my hair for 25 years. I thought I’d get a professional haircut for a change. $50 later and it’s worse than my wife ever did. Not only is it too short (I asked for a trim to even things out) but it is uneven! And she also cut my eyebrows without my permission.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 great place. They have a walk-in system, we waited 1.5 hours which was completely fine since we wanted to get lunch. My kid went first and loved it and the t.v in the mirrors, Le lady who did his hair was really sweet to him and did exactly the style he wanted! For my partner he got his haircut and a straight raiser shave with hot towel over his face. Needless to say he loved every second of it and plans to go back! Honestly such a great place. Would recommend!

Positive experience: I have not had my hair cut in years so this was a new experience and I thought it was pretty nice. Free Coke at the end was a nice surprise. Noell was very friendly and treated me well! Even though I liked how it looked at the shop, coming home and putting my hair up I'm not quite happy with the fade. I may not have explained what I wanted properly. I'm just kind of surprised at the angle of it so I don't think I can wear my hair up in a ponytail/manbun but it still looks great down. The beard looks terrific. Still A+ for customer service I just think next time I should ask to see the sides in the mirror, and be a bit more specific or maybe show a picture of what I want because I think there was simply a miscommunication. It was also cheaper than I expected, I'm still gonna return for my next haircut =)

Fantastic experience: Love the atmosphere, the barbers, the whole experience. And the price is good too. I've been going to Tommy guns for some time now and my last hair cut I went somewhere else. Negative experience: Overall meh.. this place has went downhill Used to be so good! Took my 7 year old in for a cut and showed the guy what I wanted with a picture and everything, it was nowhere near close to what my son wanted. I’ll spend $40 elsewhere from now on. If I wanted to go to great clips then I would have. 2 stars for the friendliness and the sucker / free coffee.

Negative experience: If I could give no stars for this establishment I would, Barbers don't listen to clients and what their overall hair goal is for the appointment. If you ask them to not cut the top or do a certain cut the way YOU like it... it wont be met. especially by the inexperienced female hairstylist's. do not waste your money here. instead go to Ashby Grove in the mall or a real barber that will listen to the needs of clients. so disappointing.
