Experiencia fantástica: Definitely the place to go to get your haircut! I was able to explain the haircut that I wanted and Pam was able to deliver amazing results! I was also surprised that included in with the haircut was a hair wash and massage! Great service at a great price!

Experiencia negativa: I have been here a total of 4 times. 3 times were great, the 4th was completely abysmal. From my experiences, Hannah, Pam, and Charlene are amazing and the only thing saving this from 1 star. Linda - what an absolute joke. I came in for a walk in and she’s at the desk: no greeting, no smile, just straight up snarky attitude. I asked about a wait time and it seemed to burden her. Eventually she said “I can just take you now.” I thought about asking to wait for someone else from this experience and I wasn’t even in the chair yet; I really really wish I had of waited or left. When I finally get to the chair, she is in a hurry and basically jerks me all around. My scalp is irritated from aggressive brushing, insane razor burn as well as a ruined dress shirt from getting cut during my neck shave. Quite easily the worst hair cut experience I’ve ever had by a long shot. I find it mind blowing she’s able to hold a job with such poor customer service as well as having no talent. I always tip for services, unfortunately this one included; but it’s been 2 days and I’ve thought about that $10 tip many times and how I wish I stood for myself and left nothing. Anyone reading this, for your sake to not schedule Linda. To The Guy’s Place, you guys can do better.
Wow. This review is outright bullying in its tone. I honestly hate to dignify it even with a response. That said, at The Guys Place we have a TALENTED team of stylist. Linda too has been with The Guys Place for years and has a great request rate. Bottom line - any stylist with a history of repeated issues will not remain on our team. That said, we understand not every customer connects with every stylist just like not every person chooses the same friends. Good news though! You don't have to see Linda if you don't want to. Simply request another stylist. We allow our customers to request any stylist you connect with. No need to degrade someone with rude and demeaning comments.
Experiencia negativa: Hair stylist made me feel uncomfortable getting a haircut. All I asked for was to trim the hair off my ears, and was told by the stylist they would cut their fingers if they did that. Then she told me cutting hair was all about angles and geometry. I wanted to walk out. Don’t go here!!
Not sure what the issue was TBH. At The Guys Place we hire stylists with years of experience and each undergoes a technical interview process before they join our team. Their experience is clearly evidenced by their seeking to impart the knowledge of the angles and geometry involved in cutting hair to ensure a great finished cut. All that said, we GUARANTEE a great haircut. Have an issue, ideally, and simply ask to speak with the manager on duty before leaving and they will try to make it right. Still not sure , contact us within up to 7 days and someone on our talented team will "redo" your haircut to your liking. Our aim is always happy clients!
Experiencia fantástica: They have a coffee machine, with creamer and the other stuff if you’re particular. Waiting room chairs are hella comfy if you do have to wait. The playlist is agreeable, so much so, many of the other patrons were humming along. This was my second visit and my loyalties lie with Pam though it seems other patrons were pleased with their services as well. Prices start at 35 for a cut and they’ll do the other luxurious stuff if you’re in to that type of thing but it’s like 4$ per thing. There are televisions in the booths as well so you can avoid conversation, but if you prefer to converse it seemed the stylist were willing to engage as needed. I feel this is a comfortable environment and it does not give me anxiety in the way a sports clips or a great clips will.

Experiencia negativa: Don't go here with curly hair. I had more than enough hair to get to what I wanted, and I was given a high and tight/bowl cut with a long top center. The top of my head is an absolute tragedy, and will take me at least 4-6 months to correct.

I could not be happier with my haircut from Rose. She did a great job of handling my wavy hair with ease. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The space is clean and welcoming. And you can’t beat the price.

I was referred here by another mom and was specifically told to ask for Christie. She did an amazing job and was super fast and sweet. I’m super happy with the experience. They got a tv there for your little one if they can’t sit still which is what kept my son still. Thanks for the great experience, I’ll be back with my teenage son someday :)
Experiencia positiva: Friendly staff and OK service. Have to ask for razor styling as there is only one person that is razor certified, as I was informed. They were able to fit my razor cut in, thankfully, because I didn’t ask for it in the booking (because I assumed it would be included in a men’s cut). A shampoo and conditioning service after the cut is included in the price even if you choose not to receive it. The razor cut certified professional seemed to follow all instructions and gave me a hot towel treatment. All in all it was a mediocre cut.

They scheduled me in right then and there and within 5 minutes I was getting my hair cut. Lee was my barber and he was exceptionally pleasant to speak with while getting my hair cut. Experiencia negativa: I think this is my last time going here. I had to get my haircut today for some work photos that will be taken tomorrow. I got put with a lady I only worked with one time previously. I normally request Hannah, who’s been great every single time I’ve had her. This lady though was hit-or-miss the last time I had her. I requested to have my hair cut into faux hawk, longer on top and shorter on the sides. I showed her pictures of exactly what I wanted too. Firstly, it felt like she was rushing through my hair cut, as she was constantly hitting me with the clippers. Secondly, she cut my beard and didn’t use the blowdryer to remove hair from my face. When everything was said and done, I had a combover and not a faux hawk. I should have said more, that’s on me. But at the same time if I showed you pictures of what I want and you just do what you want, then I’m not sure what to say at that point. I shouldn’t have to assert myself when I literally showed your stylist what I wanted. In total, I paid $52 after a $10 tip for a haircut that was not at all what I wanted, a lackluster experience, and a beard that I had to wash and reshape when I got home. I think I’ll be going to SportsClips from now on.

That is why at The Guys Place we all for request appointments. While all our stylists are talented professionals, some clients connect better with one stylist than they might another.
Experiencia positiva: This is based on my recent experience. Earlier it was good but recently I had bad experience when I was trying to get Gray hair blending. Customer server was not good and reception is not good. Coming to actual service, She applied the chemical and I could still see good amounts of gray hair. She said it blend soon but that didn’t happen. It was expected to stay until 6 weeks or so but it only lasted a week or 2 that’s it. Update: I gave another visit completely anonymous to above review and provided same requests to another stylist and she was able to get the job done well. I’d this is all about the person doing the job that the product itself.
Our American CREW Precision Blend color service will only last 24 shampoos per the manufacturer. This is on average 2-3 weeks for most men. A lot depends on your washing frequency - for some guys that is 4-6 weeks. Regardless, we stand behind our work. Please reach out directly to the shop where you had the service performed and we would be happy reapply the hair color again, but please remember it is Gray Blending and not the same as permanent hair color.

I have not cut my hair in 6months and im a total pain since I lack the ability to explain what it is I actually want. What I did do, is show a picture for a hot second and that is all she needed. I moved to NC 6yrs ago and since then have not gone to the same barber twice (partly on me since i cant explain what it is I want) but I plan on going back there, and only there! Im so incredibly happy with the cut.

It was a nice haircut, but he didn't even get that much cut off to justify it being an hour long. We were already running late to where we were headed next so he had to skip out on the shampoo and extra stuff. Then someone else accidentally paid for him so we had to sort that one out too. First, I really like the semi-privacy so it doesn't feel like everybody is listening to your conversation (or forced to listen to others). Second, it was a great cut exactly how I wanted. Finally, all the included extras like shampoo, brow trim, and shoulder massage add a ton of value. I sprung for the hot lather neck shave...worth it! I will be back.

Experiencia negativa: Everytime I go, I always ask for the 2 to 1 fade and always get the 1 all around. Not only that but, before they cut my hair from the top I always tell them how much I want them to take off. It seems like either they don't know their measurements or they just don't care. For those prices you might as well go to a barber who would actually take their time in cutting your hair the way you want it. It's like they cut it the way they want to cut and not the way you want it.

Honestly, it sounds to me like you have a hard time communicating what you want when you get a haircut. Bottom line ... It doesn't matter whether you visit a stylist or barber (who we also have on staff BTW), if you can't communicate that clearly to your haircare professional during your consultation. However booked an appointment but in the morning realised i couldnt make it, tried to cancel it however the online service wouldnt let me cancel it. Received a call from someone named Christina at 7:58 rudely stating that next time just cancel it by calling. Like i would like to and definitely wouldnt waste the establishments time but the place opens at 8:00am l, how do i call you before that

Experiencia fantástica: So, I'm not a guy but this place is nice. The atmosphere and staff were friendly and welcoming. Christie has cut my hair since... FOREVER but more like 1990! I lost track of her when she moved from the previous salon but I ran into another of her past clients and he told me where was working. Imagine my delight! Christie is an experienced stylish, in hair of all textures and ethnicities and certainly genders! Thanks Christie!!!
Experiencia negativa: Nope. Never again. Came home and dried the hair, and it’s looks lumpy and uneven with a cut lines throughout the head. Why wasn’t the hair dried at the salon? Not sure. Could not see it in a wet hair. Nothing what was shown on the picture. Disappointed. In respond to the owner… the picture was his a few months ago with original haircut he got in another state. Same hair, same thickness. I don’t think he would go back.
Sorry you were disappointed. Please call the shop and a manager will gladly fix the haircut however you like. We guarantee a great haircut. That said I would note matching to a picture is always hard due to different head and face shapes plus hair thicknesses as well has hair types. Some folks have more curly hair and other straight. Our team will always do their best and get it similar. If a customer wants their hair dried we will certainly accommodate that if asked, but some folks hair length would be considered a blowout which is a service we do not provide.

The hairstylist seemed nice but was awfully quiet and I felt uncomfortable during the whole appointment, which only lasted max 10 minutes. It was my boyfriend who had the appointment . Experiencia positiva: Ehh, Ok cut but the place has just got too expensive. I remember a few years back when the full service was like $14. Now it's $29 cash, $30 cc. Tip buttons start at $8 on the cc machine. You can see the picture posted from a year ago when a cut was $20. I can never tell if these price increases are going to staff or just the boss guy getting new 22s with gold spinners.
Thanks for your past business. We do appreciate it. Our business costs have spiraled higher. However, more than anything else we could easily hire 10 more stylists today. The industry as a whole is projected to be short 200,000 hairstylists this year according to BLS. We saw those problems before the pandemic but now it is far worse. Young folks need to understand a cosmetology degree is just as valuable as a 4 year college degree and they are skilled professionals. I am hoping the tide is turning as AI reduces white collar jobs. We need to truly value folks who use their hands - stylists, carpenters, hvac technicians, first responders and more! At The Guys Place we have always sought to be the BEST place to get a haircut. More than ever that means ensuring we pay very well, provide PTO, provide a 401k with match and provide benefits to retain and recruit the best stylists around. I am very proud to say our staff have always received significant pay increases with every price increase.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my son (13) here for the first time and the Christy was amazing!! She walked my son through why we get trims because he wears his hair long and has been refusing to get a hair cut. She was great and I would recommend her to anyone!!
Experiencia negativa: Another price increase! Come on management be real. This will obviously effect tips. Claim is for a pay raise for staff yet management can’t keep the front desk staffed, so staff is pulled away to answer phones. I hope the entire 5 dollar increase goes to the staffs commission not just a dollar out of the five! If that’s the case I can find a way better deal elsewhere.
Yes, you are right Sam. Let's be real. There is a shortage of hair stylists so customers should expect to pay more. According to the US BLS Miscellaneous Services (from the Wall Street Journal 12-4-22) which includes hair stylist is short 200,000 from pre-pandemic numbers. That doesn't includes growth needs since then. Yes, I'm happy to say all staff will receive a raise just as we have ALWAYS done when we have had to increase pricing unlike competitors. In addition, our staff are very well compensated and I am also proud to say earn much more than even competitors who charge 2X what we do.
Experiencia negativa: I just got my haircut here and was looking to do something shorter. My stylist was Kristen and she was mean and cold the whole time. She washed my hair for less than 20 seconds and gave me, an apparently included, “shoulder massage” by rubbing some sort of device across my back for less than 5 seconds. Also, she was rushing me the whole time and not even giving me time to look and decide if I wanted more off, even after waiting 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I will never go back here and for $25 dollars I could have gotten such a better use of my money. Even Sports Clips, no offense, does much better haircuts than this terribly sloppy and rude place.

She has been a value team member for many years and RARELY see a complaint. It is funny you mention one of our competitors here. Many of their stylists now work for us! Experiencia fantástica: The online scheduling site is very easy to navigate and convenient. We have seen Kristen multiple times and always had a great haircut for my son. Today, Brandi cut his hair and it looked great too. I recommend this location as a convenient and professional salon for those of us that can’t plan far in advance for haircuts:)
Experiencia fantástica: Hannah did a great job with my haircut and she was nice to talk to. I tend to just give vague instructions, and I appreciate it when stylists have enough of a sense of style to know what looks good while being roughly the length I'm looking for. I only get haircuts every several months or so, so I came here and paid a bit more for extra stuff, like beard trim and hot towel shave, because haircuts are relaxing. I would agree with other reviews that the extra services are pretty gimmicky mostly. Thankfully, I went in with lowered expectations after reading the negative reviews, and so I was able to appreciate it for what it is... a nice haircut, with some complimentary services. Hannah was kind enough to ask permission before each of the services, and to clarify things like, how the beard trim uses an electric razor (if you want a *trim* or just the feeling of a trim, then sure, whatever it's $10. If you want a smooth shave with a real razor, then ig you have to go with their $30 shave package). In hindsight, the trim was mostly pointless because the razor leaves stubble, but I'm keeping the 5 stars because I was warned and Hannah was cool lol.

Experiencia negativa: My husband has been coming here since 2020. He started having bad experiences in 2021 and it hasn’t stopped. We will be going somewhere else from now on. First, he had someone shape his eyebrows when he didn’t ask for that. Then, he got a haircut that was uneven all over. We left honest feedback and he got a free haircut HOWEVER when he went to redeem the free haircut they wouldn’t let him saying he had already been to that location since he received his free haircut. Then today he had his eyebrows shaped AGAIN when he didn’t ask for it. Skip this place and find another!
Our aim is always happy customers and we guarantee a great haircut. That said, our brow trim is part of our standard full service as listed both when booking online and in every shop with a wall plaque. If a customer does not want it or any other service, they simply inform their stylist they decline that part of service before starting the haircut ideally. Our staff are taught every service every time unless the customer declines. It would appear your husband didn't communicate his desires clearly about declining the brow trim.

Experiencia fantástica: On a busy Friday afternoon, this location of The Guys Place was able to get me in a chair without a reservation within a 10 minute time frame. Everyone was extremely professional and polite. My stylist, Brandi was wonderful. She gave me exactly the cut I was looking for and was very friendly in the process. All combined with a relaxing atmosphere and a very affordable price, I highly recommend this business.

You feel like the main goal is to get you in and out as fast as possible, not to give you the best experience. On the other hand, you don't pay for what a higher end salon or barber would charge. Will I come back because it's super convenient? Yes. Am I already consigned to having another gash from their $3 extra neck shave? Also yes.
Thanks Matthew for your review. Our goal is always a 5-star experience for every customer! We do aim to provide an efficient service to every client. We have had complaints from clients in the past as well when they sat in the chair for 45 min to an hour. Hence our goal is a 30 minutes or less with every guy leaving with an exceptional haircut! A slower time does not equal skill. Recently my son and wife when to the see our primary care doctor. 5 to 10 min was the max time for their appointments. He is a great doctor!

Experiencia negativa: I took my son here with longer hair to get it cut and styled as he likes longer hair. The cut was terrible. And then we were told that she was out of time after less than 10 minutes there was no time to dry his hair.
From the son's stylist: "This young customer had super thick hair down to his shoulders. He did not want to cut any of it but his mother wanted it to stay back out of his face. His mother noted they had a wedding coming up and to just trim a little bit. She did ask me to style it but I told her the only thing he could do was comb it to either side because it was VERY long it was just going to hang. He did not want it to the side. He wanted it hanging in his face like it was. I told her I could put styling product on it and neither wanted that. I told her I could finger dry it most of that way but not dry it completely because his hair was thick and very long. His was not pleasant nor respectful and wanted me to create a style without cutting any length off. All I could do was trim the ends at this point. It was what they asked for." Bottom line we can only do so much if you don't really want a haircut!
Experiencia fantástica: First time to use this salon and I was a walk in on a Sunday afternoon. They got me right in and Sandra cut my hair and did a wonderful job. I'm very picky about my hair but couldn't be more pleased with the service and haircut. Sandra did a terrific job.
Experiencia negativa: *Response to the manager* what were you going to do to fix this. I did ask her about what was wrong. She spent time telling me it’s fine. She kept me turned away from the mirror the whole time! She never showed me the very uneven back. That lady has no business cutting hair. If you guaranteed every haircut then look at my name and then go in and REFUND MY MONEY. I would have asked to speak to the manager but the people working there have the worst attitude starting with checking in. Absolutely the worst haircut I’ve ever had. She practically buzzed half my head and left my whole head uneven with patches. Avoid at all costs. I’ll have to go to a decent place to try and fix it hopefully in a week.
We guarantee a great haircut! Every customer receives a 6 point standard service which includes cross checks after your shampoo and shown the mirror in front of them and a back mirror to show the back. So if they are unhappy they need to communicate with their stylist what they would like fixed. Our stylists are not mind readers. You do need to let them know how you feel about the cut if you would like anything adjusted. What do not understand is that if you were unhappy why did you not speak with a manager? If unhappy, why did you tip your stylist? Regardless, any customer who leaves and is still unhappy can always come back within 7 days and work with a manager to ensure their satisfaction. Our goal is always HAPPY customers!!
Experiencia positiva: Got a standard haircut from Brandi. I like it. Brandi has a very nice personality. I am new to the area and this is the second time Brandi cut my hair. I'll be a regular customer.
Experiencia negativa: Maybe it was expectations, but... I called ahead and asked about hot shave. The person who answered said they didn't know what I was talking about. I pointed out the website says hot lather neck shave was listed. Ok, I guess we do. Based on this, I Assumed I could get a hot shave. Turns out my cutter was Not licensed for this, tho she did slap some shaving cream on back of my neck? Bless her heart, nice lady, but uninspired. I felt only the bare minimum effort. Lackadaisical wash and towel dry, minimal shoulder massage...almost like she was looking beyond my time to whatever was next, looking to front door. Finally, barbering skills marginal at best. I had to go home and "finish" the beard trim, lopsided moustache trim, and ok haircut. Just underwhelmed. Still tipped $10 on top of a $38 "salon for men" haircut/beard trim. If I go back I realize I have to ask a lot more questions before I do. :-(
Experiencia fantástica: I give The Guys Place 5 stars because from booking my appointment to the end of my service, it was quick and easy. My haircut looks great, the shampoo and conditioner did well for my hair, and the neck massage was a nice touch. (Could've been a little more firm with that). Overall, I felt I got a good bang for my buck when cheaper places are only cheaper by about $10. I used a coupon and my full service cut was only $20.
Experiencia negativa: I asked to get my left side leveled with the right side and almost no leveling was done. My fade is also completely messed up and there are no straight lines it’s all waving up and down. When I called to state the issue, the manager said I can get it redone over there instead of giving me my $28 back. Why would I go back to the place that messed up my hair to fix it? Anyways, got me in and out in about 7 minutes so that would explain some.

That said I checked your service and it was 20 min, not 7 min. Also you tipped your stylist ?!?! I don’t understand. Why tip if your were unhappy? Why leave instead of asking your stylist or a manager to fix your haircut? Again - we stand behind our work 100% and will always fix a haircut within 7 days to ensure customer delight.

Experiencia fantástica: I needed a trim before my wedding and Amira did a great job. I had my hair cut from quite a few stylists at this location and have had a great experience each time. I'm pretty happy and will keep coming back as log as it keeps growing back.
Experiencia fantástica: I just experienced an incredible rude phone call and was kept on hold for over 20 minutes while I listened to the front desk serve other customer's and make appointments. 9:00 AM ET on Saturday Feb 5th, Whoever answered the phones left the phone off the hook and never planned to complete the appointment schedule. Who is the owner of this franchise? I would love to speak with them.

Experiencia fantástica: Was able to schedule an appointment same day. Showed up early and was taken back early. I was scheduled with Leslie. Although not a big talker she did a great job cutting my hair! I really enjoyed the hot towels and wash being included in the price.

On occasion, I'm unable to book an appointment on short notice, and everyone else who's ever filled in also did a wonderful job. Very happy to have this place near home. Thanks!
Experiencia fantástica: My 11 year old son says Kristen was amazing and she let him watch Friends instead of cartoons which he really appreciated! :). The haircut turned out great too!
Experiencia negativa: My appointment was scheduled for 3:40 and the salon closes at 4. I arrived at 3:45 and offered to reschedule if it was too much trouble. The grumpy stylist insisted she had time and said it was okay. It was painful to watch her rush through my haircut so fast with no care at all about what she was doing or what I wanted. In every haircut the shampoo and conditioner, a hot towel, and a short shoulder massage are all included. The women refused to do any of that because it was past 4 and they were closed. She said "You don't get that stuff when you show up late, I don't got time for you" and walked me to the register. I am unsure if it was just my particular stylist or the whole business but that was the worst haircut I have ever had. They make it seem like they are so professional and well trained when great clips and sports clips care more. All they want is to get you in and out as fast as possible and your tip money. I wish I could remember my stylist name So I could inform everyone about how unprofessional, rude and terrible she was. I do not recommend this place anymore. It is a failing business
First, you were late to your appointment. Mind you, not 1 minute or 2 minutes late, but our system clearly shows 10 minutes late. All this could have been prevented if you would respect our staff's time and arrived early. Second, when you are late for an appointment, it clearly states both in the shop and on our website that our appointment policy is we reserve the right to skip your appointment if you are late. Third, in this case our staff stayed late working beyond our closing time to provide you a haircut Hindsight is always 20/20, but they probably should have denied your service. Unfortunately, they didn't know you would be so grumpy despite them working beyond closing because you were late. They tried to help you get still a haircut only, but instead are vilified by you. Just not cool. Fourth, I find it ironic you mention the competition as better but that is exactly where your stylist used to work. Instead they chose to work with us and step up their career vs taking just a job. Fifth, as a business we are not failing. We actually recently expanded opening another location in Brier Creek. Finally, may be you need to learn to respect others time by planning to arrive on time and realizing hair stylists - ours and many others - are true heroes in helping you look good. They are not perfect. They are humans. They get tired after a long day sometimes dealing with demanding customers who don't care and want them to work late. But they work hard serving the public and deserve to be given some grace once in awhile. So to anyone reading this review - PLEASE let your hair stylist know you TRULY appreciate them the next time you see them. They deal with some tough cookies from time to time!
Experiencia negativa: I have taken my sons here for the last 3-4 years, but the last two haircuts my teenage son received have been sub par. I thought last time it was a fluke, so he went again tonight and left very upset. The woman cutting his hair tonight (Amira sp?) was rude, unprofessional and did not cut his hair as he asked. There was a section at the front near his part that was missed, and about 1-2+ inches were taken off the top, even though he asked her not to take more than .5 inch. When he was leaving the store he called me and said he wasn’t even sure how the cut looked bc they didn’t show him the back of his head in the mirror, so I told him to go back in and ask to see it. He was hesitant because Amira had already been rude to him but I insisted since he was still there. When he went back in Amira nastily said “well you didn’t ASK to see it!” I thought showing someone the back of their hair was common practice? And certainly not a request that should be met with such hostility and attitude. He left without asking her to fix the front or anything else. We will not be returning.
I have 2 teen sons myself and they are very particular about their hair at the moment so I understand your concern. My sons don't know how to speak to real people very well, not sure about yours. Too much texting and not enough talking. The other day, I asked one to buy sandwiches for the family and he only got 2 instead of 4 as he said the lady cut him off. I had to stand in line again behind 10 people to get 2 more sandwiches. I told him you have stop them and let them know what you need regardless of how busy they are - you are the customer. That said, I extend my apologies for your issues. What you describe is not acceptable and it will be addressed. We and our managers pride ourselves on always providing a great experience for our customers and we guarantee a great haircut - period. In this case, your son definitely should have spoken with a manager vs his original stylist. Our managers understand that we will always try to make it right for the customer! They care deeply about their shop's reputation. No matter the issue, they know our goal is always happy customers. I would encourage you to call and request an appointment with a manager to ensure your son is happy with his haircut. Let them know he was treated poorly last time and needs it fixed to his satisfaction. Also, whenever you find a stylist you like, please feel free to request them.
