I always like the fact they there were multiple barbers. I have 3 kids so we can all go at the same time, schedule close to the same time, and get excellent service.

It had all been mediocre UNTIL… I met the owner of Bar Ber Shop at NC State campus. He was very pleasant, welcoming and professional. At first I was skeptical about getting a hair cut at a mobile barbershop but the end result left me is awe (satisfied customer). My next visit was at their New Bern (Raleigh) location and Joshua cut my hair. The experience is nothing short of stellar. I’ve had tons of compliments on my cut. Let’s just say that I’ve finally found my barber. The location is clean and the atmosphere is professional but light. LOVE IT

Experiencia negativa: It took me 3 years to get my beard to the length that I wanted.. I specific told the Barber Kevin not to touch the length and only fade the top sideburns of my beard. I even showed him photos of what the assignment was. He of course chopped off so much hair that it will now take forever to grow my beard back to the length I had. I should have known this was not going to turn out well, as he paid more attention to the conversation with his colleagues, then the assignment at hand. Because I was unable to see exactly how much he was cutting, there was nothing I could do until the end of this very disappointing episode. If you go to this shop, check out their work first.

Experiencia fantástica: This the first time in my adult life I went to a barber and not one of those large chain named places. They made me feel very welcome and cared for. I got exactly what I wanted with advice from Curtis on what works best. I had never had my beard professionally trimmed before and its a wonderful experience. I'll definitely be making a return when I need to!

Experiencia negativa: I booked the Beard treatment with trim with Mark.(the beard treatment of the Gods) I requested Mark because the last time I got a trim there the lady jacked my neck up! It was messed up for a week! Well, Mark was with a customer, so the lady was available (I wonder why) and said she would take me. Big mistake! She messed my neck up again! I thought I was paying for a nice relaxing spa-like experience. The face massage was a joke, used an aggressive massage pistol and hit every bone on my face, apparently doesn't understand muscle structure. The so called steam treatment was a warm dry towel that was pressed to my face for about 5 seconds. You don't have to worry about me coming back, and its a shame too, because I live like a mile away. Maybe she does good with head hair, but she needs some training for beards!

Experiencia negativa: I called ahead and asked if I should book anyone specific because I am particular about the fade and how I want it cut. I was told that all the barbers are well versed in any cut. I booked and paid more for the 40 minute cut vs the 30 minute so the barber had time to work with the details of my cut. When I got in the chair I explained some of the details and he acted as though he knew exactly what I wanted. I trusted that he would follow what can be seen as the previous fade height. He didn't ask any questions during the cut and faded it too high. If he would have asked a few questions I have confidence it would have been right. I still tipped because he is out here working on the weekend, and clearly a skilled barber, I respect that. My rating is based on the hair cut being cut in 25 minutes when I booked and paid for 40, no follow up questions asked during the cut about how I wanted it, and fading it past the previous fade. It will take time for it to grow back to get the previous fade height which is pretty disappointing.

Despite the experience described in the original review (below) - they were able to refund the haircut so I can get it resolved. --- Original review: I was disappointed with the haircut as it was uneven and impossible to comb over without product. That haircut was provided by A'ron, but it was also extremely busy from the holiday weekend. Due to this, I believe that he didn't have the time to ensure an even haircut. He responded very politely and was willing to fix it - but due to timing with my flight, I wasn't able to make it back. Advice to barber shop: add more time between appointments - you're charging a premium for your service, so it's crucial that you take your time and ensure it is done well.

The barber consistently pushed the hairline back after being asked not to. Next we tried pictures to help steer him in what we wanted but it just didn’t pan out. Experiencia fantástica: Came here after being done dirty my whole life for haircuts, my long straight and flat hair is not easy to cut, and without even giving a proper explanation for what I wanted my barber got straight to it, ended up coming out with somewhat of a mullet unintentionally because I told him not to cut the back, but hell I am absolutely going with it considering how well it was handled and I've never been happier after a cut. I also booked a scissor/shear cut which is 20 dollars more than just a normal cut but they decided themselves that they didn't use the scissors enough and didn't charge me full price. The people and environment were also just great. First time customer but certainly won't be my last.

The cut was so good I referred the place to my friend and got a cut by a different barber which was still good. I love the consistency of the haircuts and the quality and hospitality the barbers gave us.

My barber had to stop cutting me because he was too drunk too continue. Very unsafe and Not the level of service I got prior to the bar being installed.Haven’t returned since.

They had 3 amazing female barbers that can cut better than any male in the shop! & the only male who i liked to cut my hair, Jonesy, would never let me relax during a haircut. Always questioning me about why I chose my sexuality. I brought my son a couple times to see how it went. He was interactive so it was alright. Fast forward now, all 3 females left the shop. & Jonesy isn’t on the booking anymore either. The barbers they have left, i have used and i did not even get an even haircut when using them. This shop flipped quick. I will not be back.

The Babershop had a good lot of the good esthetic detail very clean even had a bar set up and offered me a drink while I waited, WHAT A WAY TO SET THE BAR HIGH. I wish my hair cut would’ve been the same experience. I originally booked my appointment at 12 o’clock with Cruz, he reschedules me for 12:15 earlier on the day. I walk in five minutes before, we established contact. Im waiting and I come to realize the guy in his chair has barely gotten his haircut and we’re already 10 minutes into my session. Now to keep this short, sweet and simple I’m all about time management I support barbers that also enforce no call, no-show policies and lateness fees. why?!? Because it’s a skilled art and time is money, just as your time is valuable, so is mine. By the time I walked out of the barbershop it was 12:40 already 30 minutes in and that gentleman was still in the seat. needless to say if you plan to have customer retention this needs to be corrected. Besides that I really like the place great vibe.

Upon arrival I was greeted with courtesy by my barber and his coworker who by the way is really good too. I can't remember her name but she has locs and her booth is right next to Cruz. I was very nervous that i wouldn't get a good cut due to past experiences at other shops BUT Cruz made me feel extremely comfortable. Once he found out what I wanted he explained to me what he was doing as he walked me thru the process. He actually did what he said he would do and exactly what i wanted. He did an amazing job!! We tried this place, upon arrival we called to see if anyone was available. They immediately referred us to the website to make an appointment. That was a red flag but because of the times we live in I took it. We made the appointment and I decided to drop in the space, it was nicely set up clean and inviting. I was very impressed by the decor and the bar was an added bonus. I thought to myself okay maybe we can do this one. Not to personable but it'll do. Paid online for a wash , condition and an edge up for my son. Son comes out back of head most definitely not cut. I asked what happened. My son states barber said we only paid for wash condition and edge up. It would be more for a cut. Son said I told him you would pay but he said they closing. I go back in with my son and ask the gentleman what happened. His reply this what you paid for as he rolled up his clippers..........Okay sir customer service 101.... suggest what is needed to a new client so that you can keep them. So basically I paid these people $30 plus a $6 tip just for him to wash my child hair. And yes I tiped because that's what I do when someone provides a service. Needless to say we won't be going back. Now I gotta pay for someone to cut my child hair for real.

Experiencia positiva: Ugh the people just stare at you when you walk in, made me feel Awkward. They seem unfriendly or just not welcoming environment. When I tried to spark a convo, it felt like they didn’t want to communicate. I was greeted eventually but most of times no one said hi. There was barely any consultation on 2 of my visits. If I had to pay an additional fee just communicate that. Like the 1st time and 2nd time that I went I had different barbers. The guys did a great job and I felt confident both times. The 1st guy left, and the 2nd guy is not always there on the weekends. My 1st & 2nd time the guys listen, carried on a convo and made me feel like I was welcome. The 3rd time I went, one guy did ok, but did not do exactly what I was looking for. He was nervous and not confident. The 4th time I showed the Barber a picture of the cut that I wanted. I asked that my edges stay natural looking & feminine, he did not listen, I ended up looking more masculine with lines, he did not pick my hair out before cutting, so my hair was uneven, he took my hairline too far back at the top and the top kind of made a swoop like the singer from the goofy movie. I am not returning. I give up.

Experiencia fantástica: Nathan was the barber I had, it had been a while since I cut my hair completely down. I was amazed of his work, to be an upcoming inspiring barber with passion and to execute so well. This was a huge blessing for me and my family who loved the new look!!! -Josiah!

Experiencia fantástica: If you ever come in town & need a cut I would recommend you pull up to the Bar Ber shop , first found out about the location from a friend in school & ever since then I haven’t wanted to go anywhere else. I lived in Japan for 3 years came back & met Ginna & I’ve been locked in with her ever since ! But honestly if you book with anyone in the shop I guarantee you’ll leave more than satisfied. Never had a problem with professionalism or booking as long as you show up on time you can get in get a cut have a drink and go on about you day. Definitely a 5 Star experience but don’t just read this review book an appointment !!!
