Fantastic experience: I didn’t choose Nirvana Barber Studio. Destiny did. There I was driving in an unfamiliar area. I glanced in my rearview mirror but instead of seeing the car behind me all I could see was the shame growing from the top of my head and face. I immediately Googled “nearest barber shop,” and clicked the first result. No research. No reading reviews, Just blind faith and questionable decision making. Yet somehow… fate was on my side. From the moment I walked in, hearing the youngest apprentice (approximately 4 yrs old) speaking of his awesome vision to one day have his own Grinch themed shop, I knew right then I was in the company of artistic genius! The cut was clean. Too clean. Suspiciously clean. The kind of haircut that makes you rethink every bad haircut that led you here. As for the barber, more like hair sorcerer....Michelangelo, had marble. My barber had clippers. No awkward small talk. No forced laughs. No nonsense. Just calm, precise confidence. The scissors moved like they had seen the future and already approved of it. I walked in looking like an unsure little bearded boy who Googles "barbers near me". I walked out looking like a man with a plan. With places to be, things to see, and people to do. Would I recommend Nirvana Barber Studio you ask?... Does a one legged duck swim in a circle? Is there a mustache in Mexico?? Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back??? Five Stars! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Nirvana is honestly the best barbershop in the Knoxville area. The other places like Gambuzzas and some chains like Tune Up don’t quite understand the hair needs of some people. I’ve been trying to do different hairstyles to compliment me and Justin at Nirvana really helped. He gave great recommendations, great product recommendations, and overall the whole staff is kind and very knowledgeable. Justin has done an incredible job every single time I’ve went. 10/10

Fantastic experience: My 12 yo is picky about who will cut his hair. (May stem from the pandemic times when I thought I could do it myself??). Anyway, for about a year now, we’ve been looking for somewhere he wanted to go and I had time to drive to. We found it here! The people were warm and inviting and my son’s haircut looks great to both him and me! We will definitely be going back!

Fantastic experience: We've been coming here since it was "Clean Cut" and we're thrilled Nicole has taken over. She's been my son's barber since his first haircut, and my husband has been to her as well as a few of the other barbers there (he likes a last minute appointment and is always happy with whoever happens to be available at that moment). The shop is clean, classic and comfortable, and the service is fantastic. Booking and even payments can all be done through an app online, so the mechanics of it all are super-smooth, whether you book way in advance or day-of. Aside from the basics, it is worth mentioning that this is not just a place to trim your hairs. This is a real barber shop in the truest, iconic sense. My son, even as a little kid, gets excited to go to his barber. He picks out a button down shirt, tells her how he likes his hair, and chats in the chair. Nicole listens to him and puts designs in his fade, and makes him feel like this is a special moment. And it is. They also wax my husband's overgrown forest of nose hairs, so that's a huge bonus.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here since the Clean Cut days but I like Nirvana even more. I get the same fade every time and no matter who I book with, they kill it. Jacob, Nicole, Justin, whoever. Last time I came in, Justin was cutting my hair and he knew the cut without me having to say ish…that type of thing is exactly why I will ALWAYS come back here as long as I’m living in Knoxville. Great cuts, great conversation, clean shop, dope atmosphere, good vibes all around. 5 stars isn’t enough stars! Nirvana is THE spot for any cut!!

Fantastic experience: My son decided to cut his own hair, and while I wasn’t very happy about it, I took him somewhere we’d never been before to get it fixed. Unfortunately, they made it even worse — I hated it so much I could’ve cried. Thankfully, I brought him to Nirvana’s, and Alex took his time to fix the horrible cut. He did an amazing job! My son absolutely loves his hair now, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Fantastic experience: Wear some running shoes! I am new to the beard game and was looking for some professional help. Alex S’s suggestions and skills were just what I needed. Being a prior Marine, he has great precision and attention to detail. Being prior Army, I understood that I would need to talk more slowly to him, but we had a good exchange of ideas. The result for me was better than I imagined. I kept the length, but Alex shaped and straightened my beard, and the haircut was a classic military taper, though longer on the top for an edge of personality. By the time Alex held the mirror up, I had been fully cut, combed, and styled, looking, and smelling great, traditional barber style! It’s a cool vibe and the people there are legit. The only negative I had was because I am not a strong sprinter and there was a moment of anxiety when I thought about how far my car was from the store entrance. Footwear was key here, because I was smoking hot cougar bait when I left Nirvana.

Fantastic experience: My son and I visited Nirvana barber studio this morning. It had been a long time since I had been there being that the last time I got a haircut and beard sculpt was a few years ago when it was clean cut groom lounge and I had seen Nicole, shout out to Nicole because she did nothing less than an awesome job!!! Fast forward 6 years and my son and I walked in today to Nirvana barber studio and was welcomed immediately, I said we were just walking in with no appointment and were greeted by Jacob , I told him my son needed a haircut and told him how he wanted it styled (he is 14) and he said no problem and asked where he had been getting his hair cut before and my son said “my mom takes me to great clips most of the time”. I have never been a fan of great clips and Jacob said “ that explains why the top of your head is trimmed so uneven.” Needless to say that after Jacob was done and turned my son around to the mirror to make sure that he was happy, I could see the smile and confidence in his face once he saw the result. Thank you Nirvana Barber Studio and thank you Jacob ,for the great job!!! I’ll be back soon myself to get my haircut and get my beard cleaned up!

Still to this day I haven’t found a barber that cuts my hair like she does. Everyone at Nirvana Barber Studio is amazing. My son absolutely loves Chris – not only does he give the best fade haircut on the east side of Tennessee, but he also has a wonderful, personable way about him that makes every visit special. He’s been thinning/balding at the top for some time now and kept trying to grow out the sides to compensate. My husband and I told him going bald was the only option, and he just wasn’t ready to make that drastic of a change. Fantastic experience: I went here to get a nice cut and trim before a very important interview. This was my first time going to a legit barbershop and I was lucky enough to get Justin when I booked. He corrected uneven parts of my hair and took his time, making sure he didn't cut more than he needed to. Definitely recommend coming here for a consultation just outside downtown Knoxville. From what I'm told, Nirvana cuts Asian and Mexican straight hair often, which took me a while to find. Can't wait to come back!
