Positive experience: It offers kids’ cuts, but it’s not very accommodating when it comes to making the experience comfortable for them. For example, they had to use a booster seat, and my son was practically hunched over because there was no back support. He looked like he might fall forward the whole time. I even asked if they could put the headrest on to provide a little more support and comfort, but they said they don’t do that. I will say the haircut itself was fine not great, but fine. Which is why I’m giving it 3 stars for the cut. If you’re looking for a kids’ haircut, I’d recommend Birds instead. It’s an overall better experience for kids, and they do a better job accommodating them during the haircut.

Positive experience: Larger, short, brown lady cut my hair yesterday and gave me the worst cut and fade I’ve ever had. Didn’t listen to what I wanted and the fade looks like shit. I will make sure I ask for a specific person next time if I come back. Been there 4 times and this was the worst. She kept saying - “everyone cuts hair different” so I guess her style is just bad.

Fantastic experience: I know the barbershop/salon industry is a high turnover industry, but Floyds has kept regular barbers for so long so some manager there must be doing things right. The employees actually seemed like they enjoy each other and the atmosphere is fun. My barbers have had such great attention to detail and go the extra miles to give me great service. Special props to Yani and Trih!!

Negative experience: They can’t cut hair. Everytime I go I come out the place looking worse. I went here for a few years to get my hair cut eventually I noticed the problem, no barber here is talented at all you show them a picture of what you want and they replicate it in the worst possible way, it would be either too short 9 times out of 10 and always disproportionate on the sides and back. So, I finally make up my mind after all these years of realizing the problem, I go somewhere else to get the job done and all of a sudden people aren’t roasting my haircut anymore and I’m looking the best I’ve ever looked. In conclusion don’t go here.

Negative experience: Becky has a heavy hand and if you’re getting a faux hawk she will give you a Mohawk and say I should have explained It better. She was very friendly but the razor burn required a visit to CVS for hydrocortisone cream and witch hazel.

Negative experience: ⭐️⭐️ Poor Scheduling & Unprofessional Handling I’m a loyal, returning customer at this location, but today’s experience was extremely disappointing. I called in the morning and confirmed an 11:45 AM appointment, specifically requesting the same stylist who did my last haircut. This was acknowledged on the phone. When I arrived on time, I was assigned to a different stylist—someone I had already tried before and did not have a good experience with. After raising the issue, I was told my requested stylist was available, so I waited again. Then I was told she was actually busy and couldn’t take me, and that I should come back at 1:30 PM instead. When I asked why my appointment was mishandled, the response was: “Sometimes we mismanage things. Our systems aren’t great.” There was no real apology, just a defensive explanation. As a loyal customer, this was frustrating and unacceptable. After this experience, I’ve decided not to return. Appointments aren’t honored as confirmed, stylist preferences are ignored, and customer service lacks accountability.

Fantastic experience: Love this place! I went to Jake and he did a phenomenal job and I left with my hair looking fuller after a wash, cut, and a leave in conditioner treatment. Jake was great to converse with and time seemed to fly! He was attentive and focused all while keeping me entertained with great conversation.

Fantastic experience: Cheryl has been cutting my hair for over 6+ months! Not only is she personal with every client, she is professional, kind and always does a great job. He style and technique is perfect and she always deliver regardless of the request I’ve made. She is truly a well rounded individual who is a true pro. Negative experience: Apparently appointments aren’t respected here, although you only have a 5 minute grace period as a customer. My husband showed up 12 min early for his 4pm appointment and it’s 4:19 and no update. We ended up leaving because we have other plans that we can’t be late for. Please respect your customer’s time. If you had an appointment at 4p, maybe don’t start with another client too close to that window. Walk ins should not trump an appointment. What a waste of time.

Fantastic experience: Started coming to Cheryl because my fiancé got a great haircut from her one day and I haven't looked back. Negative experience: Made an appointment for 2:30. It’s now past 3 and I’m still waiting… why are people walking in after me and immediately getting served, while I’ve been sitting here for over half an hour. My appointment didn’t have a set barber, shouldn’t that mean you can fit me in quicker?

Fantastic experience: When I first moved to Austin in 2019, I found out about Floyd's on Breaker while taking care of my father with Dementia and Alzheimer's. He loved getting haircuts at Floyd's and enjoyed the staff. They were a joy to be around. After my father's passing in 2021, I became homeless and remained that way for 5 years. I am now employed and while visiting Potbelly's next to Floyd's at the Arbor walk, I want down to the railroad tracks to take pictures of a known drug infested homeless camp. I was assaulted and my phone taken from me. I fled to the parking lot where I collapsed and the workers of Floyd's admistered aid while waiting for the paramedics to arrive. How fitting that Floyd's would play a role early in my relocation to Austin and a lifesaving role on my rise from my own version of hell. God bless Floyd's and your staff!

Negative experience: Becky was assigned to cut my son's hair. Who knows how, she shaved my son's right eye brow off. She didn't tell him anything or mentioned it at the time of pay. It was until we left that I noticed his eyebrow was gone......Even if this was a mistake, it is DEFINITELY worth mentioning it to the teen and/or his mother.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service, I came in for a walk in appointment and they said it would be a 30 minute wait. So I stay inside and wait for an hour, after said hour the employee calls me up and lets me know that no one there could cut my hair. As a result I ask why they made me wait, the employee starts to get smart with me and complains about how I didn't make an appointment in the first place. I would not recommend.

I Showed up for my appointment and he was ready to go right on time—He took the time to actually listen to what I wanted, gave solid input, and just made the whole consultation feel easy. You can tell he really cares about getting the details right. The cut came out super clean, exactly how I wanted it. On top of that, he’s just an easygoing guy to talk to. Definitely coming back!

Negative experience: Finally done with this place. After coming here for the past few years to see the reliable Danny, thought I had found an adequate fill in after he left. Today I came in for a pre-booked, scheduled visit at 3pm but found my new guy cutting a Walk-In's hair instead -- all because I was a few minutes late even though I called in to the desk notifying him ahead of time. From what I understand, the manager here (Jake) isn't allowing barbers to keep the reserved slot for customers if they're outside the 5-minute "grace period." That's a joke. And a really bad business decision.

Negative experience: Honestly save yourself the time. Sat and waited for over 20 minutes past my appointment time, and my barber Carlos was having a break in his chair. When I finally got around to getting in the chair, gave me one of the worst consults I’ve had, almost to the point of being confrontational. Won’t be going back.

Fantastic experience: I happened upon Floyd's many years ago when someone had chopped my hair horribly. The stylist fixed it and it looked great! Since that time I have never gone anywhere else. Right now, I go to Amy G and I love the way she styles my hair. I have observed other stylists there and they are all very professional. The people at the front desk are awesome as well.

Fantastic experience: I've been totally slacking on writing this but I got my hair cut back in November and my stylist did an absolutely lovely job with it. Her name was Princess I believe and I went in not super sure of anything except the length I wanted. She took a few reference photos and put together a cut that I've been loving since. She was very sweet and attentive, making sure I was comfortable and taken care of. Would highly recommend her. The folks here are quite sweet overall too. They come over for lunch sometimes where I work and they're a treat to serve. You guys rock!

Negative experience: You know, I’m actually editing my review to be real, not polite. I’m 42, and for only the second time in my life I had to go back into a place to have them fix my haircut. Of course they fixed it, but they didn’t offer any sort of apology or discount or coupon to come back. And the sad thing is, the only other time I’ve had to return to a place to get my haircut fixed was at a different Floyd’s 99 location probably 8 or 10 years ago. The main reason why I edited my review is because they went on here and replied to my rating as if to pat themselves on the back. And for some reason that rubbed me the wrong way, and I thought I would share what actually happened.

Fantastic experience: Brought my son to get a nice cut in a REAL barber shop and hey we’re so good with him! He loved it and the cut he got was so perfect and precise. I showed them a picture as we arrived and the barber made it a little bit of his own and I couldn’t have asked for a better result. My son loves his cut, he said it’s his favorite yet! Fantastic experience: I go to Flyod's because of my stylist Trinh. She is always very friendly and does an amazing job with my hair and beard. The location is also convenient to my office and I use Floyd's styling products exclusively. Being able to book online is also a huge plus.

Fantastic experience: Since 2021, Andrew has been my go-to barber and hairstylist. I followed him from Brodie to N. MoPac while I lived in Austin, and even though I now live in New Braunfels, I make the 1-hour-and-15-minute commute just to get my hair cut by him. I highly recommend Andrew to anyone looking for a great haircut. If I could make one suggestion, it would be for Floyd’s to start offering perms.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this barbershop. I called beforehand and was assured that they accepted walk-ins. However, after waiting for almost an hour, I was told that they had reservations and could only fit me in if they finished earlier with other clients. It's unprofessional to waste customers' time like this. If they can't accommodate walk-ins, they should be clear about it from the beginning.

Negative experience: It was our first time here. They just cut your hair however they want despite telling them and showing how you’d like your hair cut. The stylist just rushed through the service, and did whatever she wanted. I don’t recommend this place.

Negative experience: Used to love Floyd’s, but don’t think I’ll be coming back to this location. Styling didn’t give me his name, rushed through the cut in about 15 minutes, and cut up my neck doing so (even put on some cooling gel after, my neck is still red).

Fantastic experience: Danny did fantastic, I was having a hard time looking for the right barber and I saw that Danny had a lot of experience so I decided to give it a chance. Danny knew exactly what I needed and got the work done, he did not miss a spot at all. Even though he finished pretty fast he did an amazing job! I would highly recommend Danny S as your barber!

Positive experience: Fantastic barbershop! The prices are reasonable especially since COVID shutdown many of the other places. Everyone who works here has always been extremely helpful and very accommodating, I have never once had a bad experience and I've been going here for almost 2 years. Their haircuts are great because you get a hot towel and shoulder massage at the end. Reminds me of this old school barbershop I used to go to when I was younger, just this one is more modern and has great music.

Fantastic experience: Can seemingly always accommodate walk ins but I’ve had equally good experience with appointments. 35 for a men’s cut isn’t bad at all, and they can read your vibe if you’re not in a talking mood (tired from work, etc). But they’re more than happy to chat and ask questions and stuff otherwise.

Negative experience: We have been taking my oldest son to the Arbor Walk location to get his hair cut for quite some time. Last Thursday, March 14, 2024, was a different experience, however. He was taken to get a haircut by a family member and was given a haircut by Frederico. Frederico severely cut my son's neck with his clippers. It's one thing to knick somebody, but to keep cutting into the skin is highly unacceptable. I contacted the manager, Amy, and when I was able to speak with her, she mentioned that Frederico was talked to and his equipment was cleaned. They did refund for the haircut, but I wanted to send her photos to show the severity which she replied was not necessary. I pleaded with her three times to let me send her photos because this was not okay, but she declined to let me send the photos. Supposedly Frederico is one of their "best," but he should have changed up what he was doing once he started to cut into my son's neck. A little while after, Amy contacted me and said she would like to see the photos to show the shop manager, but I'll post them here instead for everyone to see. It is now starting to scab over and we are hoping it doesn't scar. I would not recommend Frederico at all. You can see in the pics there are several scratches and cuts.

Negative experience: I’ve had generally good experiences here but my latest haircut will be my last at this Floyd’s. My barber took it upon himself to cut my beard line both on my jaw (along the ear) and cheek line without me ever asking him to or giving consent to. He just did it. He also thinned my eyebrows dramatically without asking me. My beard line is completely uneven and crooked and now a solid inch from where my jaw actually stops. My eyebrows look wrong. Thank you to Floyd’s for messing up my face when I just wanted my hair shorter. Ask for consent before you start screwing around below the hairline.

Negative experience: They will cut your hair - but basically however they want. I had maybe 2 1/2" long hair, asked to trim it back 3/4", ended up with a tight buzz cut. If i wanted that i could have just taken clippers to my own head. Depends who you get but the overall vibe was they don't really care and were just going through the motions. Facility is in pretty rough shape as well, chairs are taped together etc.

Positive experience: Way overpriced for bad cuts. I've been here several times. I've since switched to the sport clips nearby. Every single time I've went I've had a different stylist but I've never had more consistently poor quality cuts from a place than this. On two separate occasions my stylist didn't even know what a taper was. The only reason I'm not giving this place 1 start is because there are good stylists that work here but you have to work to fid them from the mediocre or bad ones.
