Negative experience: Booked appointment originally for a time, saw that there was an appointment hour earlier so booked that.. half hour later get a text saying system glitch and cannot honour appointment. Then states couldn’t do original appointment as that had been filled! Rubbish customer service and the phone call to try and get it clarified was painful. ***Avoid***

Fantastic experience: Excellent service. My son (19) has ASD and getting his haircut in the past has always been quite traumatic, resulting in him putting off haircuts for as long as possible. It would often take him days to get over the experience. The staff at The Barbers Lounge were amazing! They suggested visits and chats prior to the hair cut which allowed them to make adjustments to suit his needs. The appointment was relaxed as they had allowed more time, giving my son plenty of opportunities to feedback and feel less traumatised by the whole experience. He has walked away happy and less exhausted. He knows that if he wants any small adjustments he can just go back. He now feels that he will be able to get his haircut more regularly and is even considering a beard trim! I am incredibly grateful for the care and understanding that they showed. It is a weight off my mind that we have finally found somewhere that my son is happy to have his haircut!

I tried so many places but couldn't find one hairdresser or barber I was truly happy with; no one was able to blend my hair well. After another terrible blend, I looked up the best barbers in Portsmouth and decided to try The Barber's Lounge. I figured I'd need to pay a lot more but the prices surprised me as they weren't as high as I thought they'd be for a top end barber. I chose to book in with Chloe Beth, based entirely on the good reviews she has. Not only is she a lovely person, she's a fantastic barber and I was really impressed with my haircut! That was almost a year ago, but every cut since has been great. It's given me more confidence too - I used to wear a hat or cap to hide a bad blend! I'm so impressed with every haircut I have there, I won't go anywhere else. I highly recommend The Barber's Lounge! Alfie who cuts my hair has taken me through multiple hairstyles, all of which were top quality and made me look and feel 100% better. Negative experience: Love it when I walk in and find two barbers playing on their phones with no customers in sight only to be told that I can’t have a haircut if I don’t have an appointment. I give one chance and that’s it!

Not only do they provide an amazing service but all the staff are kind-hearted individuals who provide the highest level of professionalism as well. I have to give special credit to Alfie who I trust each & every time with my beard/hair trim and every time does not fail to provide a high standard of service whilst also listening and providing a good level of conversation at the same time.
