Negative experience: AVOID!!! Very unhappy with the haircut and service provided. The barber had shown no interest nor care whatsoever. The haircut was rushed, and the beard trim/shape up was very poorly handled, with my beard not being equal at all despite having mentioned it several times, all I was told was that I was wrong, even Stevie Wonder could see it was way off, adding to the fact my moustache was untouched, having to do it myself when I got home. I was only left with several cuts all over my throat. Additionally, I was charged £2 extra of what the price was listed (£26). I wouldn't even get a haircut here even if it was for free.

Negative experience: Right as i went in and asked for a haircut, mid explanation, one of the barbers there said ‘we dont have this chinese hairstyle in the uk’ i ignored the first comment and sat down. Then another comment he made as one of them sat me down was are you from japan or chinese while smirking at me? He asked where I was from, where i said hk and singapore, then said to me isnt that the capital of china? Isnt it in the middle of china? I dont mind calling myself chinese or being called chinese, but when someones demeaning me and assuming, trying to get a laugh out of his buddies before cutting my hair, I believe isnt right. I didnt feel comfortable getting my hair cut here at all and asked to get my bib removed and as i walked out he asked why i was upset after numerous jabs were made at me as i was about to get my haircut. I did not feel comfortable at all. Not a good first impression at all. In edit to the owners response: Claiming my statements were inaccurate and claiming that ‘here in the uk this is the usual’ Not once have a seen this type of service in the mutliple countries and cultures i have been exposed to. What reason would I have to lie and spread misinformation? I am writing this review to show that your service is unprofessional, and i have not even received an apology for any unnecessary comments made about me. I dont think the utmost professionalism is throwing comments and teasing someone trying to get a laugh out of your coworker is professional? There is definitely an area of character that you need to improve upon if you claim i have made false statements, and believe there was nothing wrong that happened. Not just the conversation, but the tone and way in which you asked me was uncomfortable right from the start. There is absolutely no reason for me to lie, i am just stating my experience with boss barber. You claim its just a ‘normal conversation in the UK’ , but i went down the street to a different barber, had no bad experience, no aggressive remarks made on the country I’m from, and proper professionalism, asking in an appropriate genuine manner. If I’m trusting someone to cut my hair, in my opinion i would prefer no animosity toward my responses or someone not trying to get a laugh out of his buddies. As i said again, no apology given or needed in the owners response. Only claims that the statements I made were untrue, this to me is ignorance, not professionalism. There may be other barbers at boss barber that are professional, but from my experience the two barbers that were in the shop that day were not professional at all.
