Fantastic experience: Absolutely unreal experience at Barber Avenue. The barber was a young guy in his 20s and honestly smashed it one of the best haircuts I’ve had in a long time. Took his time, paid attention to detail, and knew exactly what would suit my head shape and style. The fade was clean, the lines were sharp, and the overall vibe in the shop was on point. Walked out feeling fresh and confident. Definitely my new go to spot. Highly recommend

Negative experience: I felt scared being in here. Brought a child for a haircut. There was a barber (20s) who was talking really loudly misogynistic stuff about women. They were swearing and saying the f word and c word in front of my eight year old. We cancelled the other haircut and left. Don’t come here if you are a woman or child - feels unsafe. That said - the young barber (teen) did a pretty good haircut. He was polite and paid good attention to his work.

Negative experience: The worst experience at the highest price. A team of immature boy 'barbers' laughing & joking like school kids, all while speaking in a language other than English. These boys need to get some manners & do their job. There must be better than this in Wollongong.

Negative experience: This was honestly the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. My hair is completely messed up — it’s uneven on all sides, with some parts cut way too short and others left long. It looks like no effort or care was put into it at all. The barber rushed through the whole thing, and the result is a disaster. I’m really disappointed and now have to go somewhere else just to fix the mess they made.

Negative experience: I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but unfortunately , the barber seemed distracted and didn’t listen to what I asked for. I showed a clear picture of the style I wanted, but the cut didn’t even come close. The finish was uneven, and the lines were poorly done. To top it off, the overall attitude was unprofessional, with no apology or effort to fix the issue. I’ve been to other places where I’ve left satisfied, but unfortunately, this won’t be one of them. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality haircut. Very disappointing.

I’ve had my beard trimmed in all corners of this world and these guys are up there with the best, they approach a beard as art and they take great pride in their craft. Negative experience: I had an extremely disappointing experience here. From the beginning, when I explained my request, I didn’t feel understood at all by the barber. During the haircut, he seemed more focused on showing off and teaching others than actually listening to me. He was even dancing around with scissors in hand — highly unprofessional — and unsurprisingly, he made a serious mistake. He completely cut the wrong hairstyle, and when I asked about it, his response was incredibly rude. He insisted it was entirely my fault and refused to take any responsibility. I have knowledge in hairstyling and trimming, so I could clearly tell his technique was inappropriate and careless. In the end, I left frustrated with a haircut I didn’t ask for and definitely didn’t like. The lack of professionalism, skill, and respect for the customer makes it a place I would never return to — and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Negative experience: I asked for a mid drop fade, but what I got was more like a low fade—definitely not what I expected. When I took photos of both sides and the back, I noticed the fade was uneven and not well-blended. Some areas looked darker, while others seemed rushed. I came to the shop close to closing time, and I could see the haircuts before me were done well. However, when it was my turn, it felt like there was less effort put in. Maybe it was the end of the day, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for a rushed job. Overall, I’m disappointed with the outcome. I was expecting a clean and even fade, but it just didn’t meet the standard I saw given to other customers.
