Experiencia negativa: Called on a Thursday afternoon and scheduled 2 hot shaves for me and a buddy for that coming sat at 10am. I was told nicely to call if I’m not gonna make it cause it’s 2 spots. 945am he had someone in chair and still at 1038am with not 1 word of “hey sorry running late or tell that person to move, we have appts”.. We went to play pool to waste time (cause it’s a social club ) but there was a kid watching a baby in a play crib around a pool table, maybe it was a 1 off day for them and things were happening ‍♂️. I felt cause I wasn’t a regular, that I was just told yes on whatever time I wanted and if he could make it happen he would, but if a regular don’t show we were his plan B appts.

My partner and I came in for his appointment with Rei. When my he sat on her chair and started looking at his hair, she kept calling his hair Asian hair, my partner is Mexican… she then randomly switched the conversation to talk about the giant age gap between her and her young boyfriend who is in his early 20s. Which we were already puzzled by how we even got there, but it didn’t stop there. She started saying things like younger girls his age were *r word* and proceeded to say that I wasn’t one of them tho… lol? I immediately stopped her and I let her know we don’t like/use that word. She attempted to excuse herself by letting me know her daughter is autistic and non verbal which I still said I disagreed with and she just went on about that for a minute. Then what felt like an eternity she just went on about how girls his age were shitty etc. I decided to just step out for a breather because at the end of the day, my man was still in her chair and I didn’t wanna risk him getting a bad haircut lmao (honestly the haircut itself isn’t even bad) I came back in after a couple mins and the amount of damage control she attempted was embarrassing. When I told her we are actually millennials as well, her jaw was on the floor :-) needless to say, would not we commend! TL;DR: if you wanna get a haircut by an ableist, racist person, go ahead and come here. lol

Experiencia negativa: I just wrapped up my first (and definitely last) experience at Pomade and Tonic, and it was hands down the worst haircut experience I’ve ever had. The stylist did a terrible job—it’s easily the worst haircut I’ve ever received. Instead of asking her to fix it, I bolted out of there as fast as I could. The bad experience started the moment I walked in and was greeted by a thick cloud of cigarette smoke. A wiser me would have taken that as a red flag and turned around, but unfortunately, I didn’t. The actual haircut was a disaster—there was a baby screaming in my ear for most of it, the footrest on the stylist’s chair was broken, leaving me awkwardly holding myself up with my elbows on the armrests (which quickly turned into an unintentional workout), and to top it all off, the advertised $20 veteran discount was no longer honored. Instead, Ashley informed me it was now $25. Bottom line: I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this place. Consider this your warning—avoid at all costs!

I was a little hesitant because I’m a teenage guy and it was marketed as an old-fashioned barber shop, but Mike did an amazing job. Apart from the cut he seems like a really cool guy and was one of the only cuts I’ve gotten that didn’t feel super awkward. Will be back.

My appointment was at 10:30, they got there at 10:30 (since no one was scheduled for the 10:00 spots) and I was done within 20 minutes. They're always polite and courteous and even explained to other guy that Ashley was pregnant and having a rough morning. He seemed challenging from the beginning. I have no complaints!

I have been a client of both the owner Farrell Stephens and another barber Robert Renke. Both are true masters of their crafts. I’ve never left this barbershop not happy with the way my hair is looking after. And if I ask for their opinion on a hair style I know I can trust them to give me their honest feedback on if that particular style would suit me, and if not what we could do instead. I started going based off of a recommendation by a buddy of mine after I got a messed up haircut from a barber in oak leaf. After my horrible haircut, I showed up to pomade and tonic and got my haircut by Farrell Stephens. He is undoubtedly my go to guy. I don’t let anybody else touch my hair. I’ve been all over the world on deployment. I’ve received haircuts in the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Guam, Europe and alot of other places and haven’t found a better barber or barbershop. I couldn’t recommend enough.

She squeezed me in. I had to wait 40 minutes to get into a chair because she was busy with another customer. She totally made up for it by giving me a really good quality haircut with a beard trim and straight razor shave. I just scheduled my second cut at the shop and I chose Paige again because of the quality of the cut along with great customer service. Give her a try if you are looking for a barber. Experiencia fantástica: I've been here a few times. The way these folks work is wonderful. I've been able to visit a few times when I was unable to meet up with my regular barber. Pomade & Tonic's barbers are easy to work with and talk to. I'll be back.
