They went above and beyond give excellent service. You can tell how deeply they care about each individual client and They have earned a new long time customer

Experiencia negativa: I paid $61 for a haircut at Scotch and Scissors, which includes a hair wash. After the barber had already cut my hair, I asked for one small adjustment--going slightly shorter on the sides. I was then told that if we made that change, there would no longer be time to wash my hair. That was frustrating, as the wash is part of the service I paid for. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable, just a minor modification to ensure the haircut was done correctly. In addition, my part was done incorrectly and I had to ask for it to be fixed. The entire appointment felt rushed, and the final result was not up to the standard I'd expect at this price point. When you're paying a premium, you should receive the full service and a finished haircut, not feel hurried and lose part of what's included.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve cancelled my membership after 2 years. The rotating crew of stylist made it tough to establish a relationship with someone who knows how to properly cut my hair. While the crew is nice, I found the new management team started cutting corners. I noticed more inexperienced stylist demanding their higher prices, a flat price increase to memberships, and cutting corners around the products available to buy and thinning selection of the free drink. This last visit confirmed my increased doubts as they applied heavy pressure during my back-neck shave

Experiencia negativa: Absolute worst haircut I’ve had in ten years and for 60 bucks! Despite asking for “straight in the back”, got an insane fade halfway up my skull, in addition to shaving the sideburns way too short. Was never offered a drink before or after the haircut, despite the name. Barber was apathetic, didn’t listen, and didn’t have the common sense to know you don’t shave someone’s head to above their ears. My strongest negative review of this place - there have to be a million other salons in the area - recommended you find a different one.

The most rushed and uneven, unprofessional haircut I've had, in what looked like a side closet with a dirty mirror. Left with my hair still wet because she couldn't be bothered to fully dry it. Impressively fast, but I won't be back.

During my time going here, I've seen a total of three stylists. None are better than Krystal M. Krystal is lively and funny to chat with and I have always appreciated the way she cuts my hair. Great attention to detail, and the shampoo/conditioner/scalp massage/hot towel on the face are always a nice treat to complete the appointment. She does such a nice job from beginning to end. Experiencia negativa: I’ve had some pretty bad haircuts, but this one by far takes the cake. My barber, Mac. C. gave me the worst haircut I have ever received. I ended up going to my local Sports Clips immediately after paying and got a buzz cut to get rid of the terrible haircut. Lucky for me, hair grows back, but it definitely sucks, as I had grown my hair out for 3+ months to change how I was styling it. I highly recommend asking someone who has gone before which barber/stylist they had because not everyone is up to par.

Experiencia negativa: Worst haircut ever. Even after showing pictures of how the haircut should be, they used a trimmer and cut all my hair in just 2 minutes like they were in a hurry. No regard for asking for any inputs. Even after asking them multiple times if they needed to see the pictures, they said no and just ruined my hair. Such a scam. Never going there again.

Experiencia negativa: Bad experience, I scheduled appointment and got message that the barber is overly booked so she wanted to transfer me to another barber , after I said no, she told me to come over. When I arrived she came to take me and told another guy that was there at the reception to wait few minutes. As I was sitting ion the chair she said that she have only 15 minutes for me and can not preferment a regular haircut. She made me leave the place as she had no availability for the rest of the day . Shame on you for such a bad experience, I will never go back there again and they lost me that’s for sure , the lady’s name is Cassie , front desk was the best part of this place as they apologized. I moved here from Miami , and I am so disappointed and upset.

Experiencia negativa: Good haircut. Not much. However, the price is excessive for a first visit. I was late, but I had no luck with the traffic. The front desk service was not great. I didn’t get a shampoo, wasn’t offered anything to drink, and while the haircut is good, it doesn't match the photo I showed. No shampoo at the end to clean up, nor was I offered any styling with wax or anything similar. I paid \$67 for a haircut, but without the service that should come with it. Very disappointed with this experience — I won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone at my company. Quite disappointed, especially since I expected better.

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough good things about this place. From the moment you walk in and take in the atmosphere you’re greeted updated immediately on your appointment. Next to the waiting area is a small bar that has a great selection of alcohol but the shelves were looking a little bare like they were running out of inventory. The bartender GiGi was amazing and made fantastic drinks while introducing me to some new ones. Now for the haircut, I went in with shoulder length hair that was damaged and pretty unruly and had an idea of what I wanted. I booked with Michael who took my idea and just went above and beyond. As much as I loved my long hair I’m beside myself with how good my haircut looks and all the compliments I’ve gotten on it as well. Thank you Michael for absolutely killing it man and I look forward to booking with you again when it’s time for a trim.

You could easily spark a conversation with anyone in the building! And I was complimented about my mess of an Afro within 39 seconds . My complimentary drink was nice and strong. From the start she was awesome, we had a great conversation which is important for me as my anxiety sky rockets in a barbers chair…. To my surprise she let me know she’d only been. Putting hair maybe a bit over a year, I couldn’t tell at all. I tend to let my hair get long, and I’ve seen 30 year barbers struggle to get it right. Whitney did an amazing job, and when she did need help, the pride went to the side and she got assistance from Maceo. Another top notch stylist. And she didn’t have him cut my hair, she watched studied and learned and that is something that will take her further than anything in life. And seeing the team work was a huge plus for me. Experiencia negativa: I understand not wanting to do a child’s haircut, however I’ve had both my boys cuts done in the Grandscape location several times in the past. I’m my membership started when they first opened during Covid mid 2020. I’ve let my membership go but go in from time to time. Today I went in to get my sons cut and was told they had never done kids kits before. So what about the dozens of times my boys had there’s done?

The 2nd most recent time it was cut too short and left it uneven completely disregarding the reference photo again. Definitely overpriced for the lack of detail and care shown each time

My stylist was very meticulous for a walk in, I felt like a regular and valued customer. I left looking like a new person. Felt even better.

Book an appointment with Joselyn, grab a drink before your appointment at their in-house cocktail lounge, and treat yourself to something special. The stylist didn’t even come out to look at my hair to see if it could be done in whatever time frame I was booked for. I booked this appointment 2 months ago. I’ve never had a place tell me they could not cut my hair because I was 10 minutes late.

Experiencia positiva: Was my first experience at S&S. I set up an appointment for a Shaving session with Bryan. When I arrived I was told I can get a complimentary drink as it's my first time visiting. The bartender, Sophia. was great and offered me options. I didn't wait too long before Bryan was ready for me. I got a full shaving experience including hot towel massage, pre-shave, shaving and post-shave cold towel to close out the pores. I was even able to go back to the bar and finish my drink. The staff was friendly and ensured I had a good time. I highly recommend the experience and the Uptown S&S location.

She even cut more than what he wanted! He showed her pictures of what he wanted and she did not deliver. From past reviews I’m guessing this place doesn’t know how to cut curly hair so I advise if you have curly hair don’t come here. Over priced for a bad haircut. I’m highly disappointed being they are supposed to be high end!

Experiencia negativa: Been here a few times and cuts are usually okay. During my last visit, the person cutting my hair, forgot, to actually cut my hair!! After 30 minutes of small talking, I got a trim around, got my hair washed, but when I got home I realized he didn’t take any hair off the top like we discussed. I had to come back the next day and after some arguing that in fact my hair is the same length as it was, he cut my hair. Not sure if he didn’t have enough time, or he was mad at me, but it’s probably the worst haircut I ever got. And I paid $60 for it!! Huge rip off.

I got a hand wax for the first time at 35 and that was cool. Massages are a nice touch and my haircuts have gotten nice compliments. Experiencia negativa: This is my third time getting my hair cut here. I try to avoid it because it’s really expensive, however, it’s conveniently located for me. So far I have had two okay cuts. This time it was just an awful experience. First off, I was passed several minutes after my appointment time. Second, I paid for the 30 minute haircut and I was out the door at the 20 minute mark, including the 7 minutes they were late. Third, they managed to somehow burn my neck and a cut above my ear. Lastly, and worst of all, they left my hair all patchy, the cut is uneven throughout, and I have a 2 inch wide section at the bottom that is now a lot shorter than everything else. Now I’m going to a different place to fix this haircut….

Experiencia negativa: This was my first time back at S&S in about 3 months after traveling and probably my 5th or 6th overall time being there. Since it had been a while, I couldn’t remember who I had cut my hair previously so I booked next available Ten Year at the selected time slot and received Agustin. I sat down and explained what I wanted, and what I had always gotten at this shop and and anywhere else: a mid skin fade, scissors on top (usually around an inch off), and a hard part. Agustin informed me that he did not believe that he would had enough time with the haircut package I selected to do a skin fade, if a 1 on the side would be good and that next time I should book the 45 minute session or add the razor package. Needing the haircut that day I accepted and while the end result was fine, it is neither what I walked in expecting nor leaving wanting. While I respect that my barber was honest with me that he didn’t feel he could provide the quality of haircut in the allotted timeframe, it has never been an issue when I have had my hair cut anywhere else for a similar amount of time or, more specifically, at S&S. A $70 haircut ($60 rate + $10 gratuity) is already on the higher end of what I would spend and this experience made me feel nickel and dimed because I didn’t pay enough for the haircut I always get. Looking at any other packages that were recommended, it seems that added time would go into the other services provided that I simply don’t need (massages and what not). Overall an unsatisfying experience at a place that is normally the opposite. I’ve continued to pay the premium of this haircut because of the convenience of being next door and the overall atmosphere and service provided. With the latter being disappointing now I will probably start looking and going somewhere farther out that I can get the haircut I want.

As an upper level blue collar worker in the service/tourism industry, stress and body aches are just a part of life...as is going too long without a proper haircut. This place is my answer to where to go for a self care day. Stopping in to their bar before my appointment for a drink is a wonderful way to begin. I've fallen in love with the 25 Year service and have/will recommend it to anyone needing a little pampering. I cannot overstate how great this place is!! Stop in. You'll see!!

Experiencia negativa: Don’t like being lied to. Called in yesterday needed an appointment for a cut, beard trim, and wax. My beard and wax are the reasons I spend this kind of money at S&S. I was specific and the girl on the phone said you can have the last appointment at 6:15. I asked twice if that was too late, and said no problem my stylist (not my normal girl) will take care of me. Get a call at 5:00 pm today from the receptionist (different girl) that they are only going to be able to do my hair. Said they close at 7 and won’t have time. I questioned her based on the previous conversations from the day before. She then said the stylist asked me to call. Expectations when you spend a 100.00 plus on a men’s haircut. 15 min should not be an issue, if this was an issue the original scheduler would have said something. My perception is being the last appointment of the day and they wanted to go home early. I canceled my appointment. Alex normally cuts my hair, and this was a fill in because she was not available. Really feel like I was lied to and will be going other places for my business. Have been using y’all over the country for a long time. Back to the original store in KC. Lost a customer today.

My hair cut was phenomenal! & to top it off the bar and bartenders were wonderful! I highly recommend this place, and I can't wait to stop in again. Plus the wife was happy with her Moscow hehe so she's happy, I'm happy!

Experiencia fantástica: Definitely worth it! Bryan provided great service, was knowledgeable and accommodating. Felt like a great middle ground of following your direction but also knowing what works and doesn’t work for you based on your hair and his experience. The place itself is a great vibe and it’s hard to beat the complementary drink (including cocktail) after the cut. Definitely would recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: The haircut, beard sculpting and old fashion straight razor shave was a very pleasant experience and reminded of the old time barber shops. It was incredible. It was still a little early to partake in the alcoholic beverage but it would make the experience that much more enjoyable.

Experiencia negativa: I've been a member of both The Gents Place and Scissors and Scotch for a total of about 14 years. I'm more than happy to pay extra to go to a place like these over say, Great Clips because the atmosphere is elevated, and the quality of the haircuts are significantly better. I live in Overland Park, KS which is where I get my haircut normally, but was traveling to visit my family for Christmas and my membership transfers to any of the other S&S locations. Since I was in Dallas, I thought I would give this location a try. My experience was not great to say the least and not nearly as good as any of the locations in Kansas City. I was going to give two stars instead of one due to the fact it was the end of the day before everyone got off for a few days for Christmas break, so they might have been a little checked out but it's been so frustrating to me that I decided to go with one. Came to check in and no one was at the front desk, not a big deal and I waited for about 5 to 10 minutes, and someone came out and got me checked in. When I told her who I was there to see she said she would get her and was gone for another 10 or so minutes and the person who cut my hair finally came out, this was bout 20 minutes after my initial appointment was scheduled, (possibly longer). She looked like she just woke up from a nap and she actually confirmed during my haircut that she was taking a nap in the break room. She asked how I like to have my hair cut and I explained that I wanted to keep my hair longer and just clean up the sides and a bit of a trim. I purposefully styled my hair that way I like it so she could see. I don’t know why she even asked because she didn’t seem to even try to cut my hair in a way that would work. I honestly think once she got going, she forgot I event had a side part because she cut all my hair - top and sides the same, very short length to the point where when I style my hair I can’t event tell where my part is because all of the hair is the same length. Mind you prior to my haircut, the top of my head length was 3 or 4 times longer than the sides. After she washed my hair, she went to style it and started styling it on the other side from where my part is because she legit couldn’t tell either that the part is on the other side. This was by far the worst haircut I have had in 14 years between TGP and S&S. No blending, no attention to detail, etc. I’ll be going into the Prairie Village location here in the next few days to get it fixed not that its finally grown out a bit…. By the time I noticed how bad the cut was it is always super awkward, and I was tired, so I didn’t say anything. Probably should have.

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend trying Scissors & Scotch! I recently stopped through Dallas uptown and had the pleasure of scheduling a session with Michaela S. She was attentive and professional, providing an amazing, relaxing experience while ensuring my stylistic concerns were met. I scheduled the 15-year and felt it was an exceptional experience! For those that understand the importance of self-care and the need to treat yourself every-now-and-then!

Experiencia fantástica: Today Krystal was my barber at Scissors and Scotch. She was fantastic. She gave me a haircut and shampoo with a relaxing scalp massage and hot towel. It was, as usual, a great experience there!

Experiencia negativa: My husband got his haircut from here today and it turned out terrible. The stylist seemed to be in a bad mood and butchered his hair. She didn’t listen to what he wanted out of the haircut. Very disappointing for such a highly reviewed place. If you don’t know how to cut curly hair - just say that and don’t ruin other people’s days because yours is bad.

Experiencia fantástica: Thought I’d treat myself while on vacation. Now a haircut might not sound like a treat but the First Visit The 25 Year experience was amazing. Experiencia fantástica: Very satisfied with my first visit to S&S. The atmosphere is fantastic (well maintained and clean with great energy/vibe); the staff were professional, friendly and efficient; and the services were top notch. Augustin (who's been there since they opened in 2019) provided an excellent cut & shave as well as my first nose wax (which was painless and perfect). The price was the only questionable part of the experience but you get what you pay for and member prices seem reasonable. Looking forward to becoming a member. 5 stars

Experiencia fantástica: I've been searching for a permanent barbershop for over 5 years. I'm VERY particular about my beard. I came across S&S and read a review on KC which gave her a 1000/5 stars for attention to detail. I booked her immediately and have been to see her twice now. Let me just say that the review was spot on! She took the time to actually listen to what I wanted instead of having her own idea of how my beard should look. She worked slowly, carefully and meticulously giving me EXACTLY what I wanted. KC is outstanding and I couldn't recommend her highly enough. My search for a barbershop is over. Give S&S a try. You will not be disappointed.

Experiencia fantástica: This barbershop has an mazing ambience. The staff is extremely welcoming and genuinely wants to help you. I got my haircut with Stephanie, and it was one of the best cuts I got. It was easy to schedule my appointment as well. Keep in mind, the barbershop is inside the Hotel Crescent Court building, so it might be a small quest to find it at your first visit. Other than that, everything is perfect about this barbershop.

Experiencia fantástica: Scissors & Scotch is incredible! The comfortable interior provided a relaxing environment to get a haircut or shave. The bar mixes an excellent cocktail with plenty of room to catch part of the baseball or football game. The location is at the Crescent Court that provides easy parking or front door drop off by your ride share!
