Fantastic experience: Nick hooked me up with a clean cut today at Mio’s Designs Barbershop. He took his time, paid attention to the details, and made sure everything was even and sharp. The fade came out smooth and the lineup was on point. Good conversation, professional, and the shop had a solid vibe. Definitely coming back and I recommend booking with Nick if you want a quality cut.

Negative experience: Monday was a holiday and I had No Clue it was. I have SHORT hair I needed to find where Google maps pin the barbers nearest to me. I did find out that 1 didn't come up on the phone screen Yet they were open. Around Bethel & Beretania. I called this store instead of the 1 in Kalihi. Customer Service on the phone, none! 2 same companies, Waikiki and Kalihi. The girl who answered the phone and who ever is the manager needs to retain her and English is not the 1st language. She told me to go Kalihi store and I asked her " please can I have the number"? What number she asked. Right there I asked for her name? She didn't understand why? I again asked for the Kalihi number and SAME company and She tells me that she doesn't have it? You have to have it! It's the same company how can You Not know OR have it on a list for you to see? I hung up! She didn't get it of the reasoning for being prepared. This place is in Waikiki, and NOT ment for me.

Fantastic experience: I work as a teacher, so when it is time to cut my hair my students will let me know. They will ALSO, BRUTALLY, let me know if that haircut is terrible afterward. They WILL roast me into next week. However, my barber Kanaloa at MiO's? He's brilliant. The fade cut he gave me is immaculate. Just the lengths I was looking for (and not too close to the skin). Kept the curls on the top of my head manageable without completely cutting them down. 10/10 am going again in the next couple of months when my hair inevitably becomes a thick, matted mess again.

Fantastic experience: Kanaloa is the man! Easy experience getting an appointment online, friendly staff, and plenty of parking in the back of the building.
