Negative experience: Terrible experiance. Jonay told me my haircut was going to be more expensive after she had already started cutting my hair becuase I had long hair. Unsure how that isn't discussed up front. Furthermore, I paid $32 for an incomplete haircut after I refused to pay $50. I was also expected to be an expert as it pertains to cutting mens hair. I was told a picture of how I style my hair would not be helpful and rather asked a series of questions about layering hair and fullness of my cut. Still left a tip because its the right thing to do, but I wish their staff would take the same approach about a mistake. Rather than losing a customer, they would rather make an additonal $18 once after what I would call an honest mistake. I have used Hair Saloon for Men for years and was testing a new location, but I will not return here.

Negative experience: I called here to get some pricing for a haircut. I was thinking about switching to getting my haircut here instead of my usual place. Since then, I have been bombarded with Hair Saloon ads on Social Media. I can't block them fast enough.I am not 100% sure how that works, but you win. I'll keep blocking your ads and won't spend a dime here. Enough is enough.

Fantastic experience: Comfortable atmosphere and great service. I like how they call it a saloon. I always get a good cut from Lyla, but the younger ladies look like they know what they’re doing, too! I was even able to phone in an appointment, old school style! One of these days, I’ll even partake of the free beverage!

Negative experience: I asked the hairdresser to trim just a little off the ends, but they cut off a lot and made my hair much shorter. The middle part of my hair is also uneven. After washing my hair, they didn’t towel-dry or blow-dry it for me.

Fantastic experience: Very efficient, prompt, effective and friendly service. Was offered complimentary beverages and a quick shampoo after haircut for cleanup. Hands down the best haircut experience I have ever had!!

Fantastic experience: Lyla always gives me the best haircut. I don't think I could get better from a high end, pricey salon. The skill of their staff far exceeds the lower priced competitors out there. Hair Saloon is also a comfortable and friendly place to get your hair cut. It's an excellent value for the price. I just hope their prices don't keep edging up and up.

Fantastic experience: I have been here a few times with some great haircuts, but recently Whitney cut my hair. I will never go to anyone else as long as I’m in STL. I highly recommend anyone who schedules an appt to have Whitney bless your hair. Best chop I’ve had in my life. The staff is very friendly too.

Fantastic experience: I called at 9:30 am, Dee was so friendly & I was able to get a 4:20 appt for the 5 year old I nanny. We arrived a little early, he played checkers with his sister & Stacy called us back at exactly 4:20. Great haircut, experience, etc even with a squirmy little boy. Thank you we will be back!

Fantastic experience: No issues! Fast service. I had a good cut and it wasn’t an arm and a leg (I think 33 dollars or so for a haircut). The barber was friendly and gave a great cut without any issues. Place is clean and the wait time wasn’t terrible (although I did book online before and showed up around the time of appointment). They give you a complimentary drink while you wait which is nice. Has a nice theme to the decor. No complaints!

Fantastic experience: I have long hair and have been trying to get someone to give me a haircut that provided some shape to the length. I had tried several places and, even though I had a picture of what I was looking for, no one was able to execute what I wanted. Until I went to Hair Saloon and Valerie cut my hair. I showed her the picture. She knew exactly what I was looking for and was able to execute it. I'm very happy and I'll be a loyal patron from now on.

Fantastic experience: I cannot remember the name of my barber but she is awesome, she is the one that is only there on every other Monday and Fridays but she does a great job, the employees at this location are always very nice and it is clean, it is a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

While I have always had a great experience, I wanted to shout out to Stacey who was absolutely amazing! She was so much fun to talk with but also listened to everything I asked as far as my hair. Negative experience: I didn't like the stylist or the haircut. I wasn't comfortable from the start, but too polite to tell her to stop with her 2nd trimmer stroke. The 2 stars were for the receptionist, she was friendly, upbeat, and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Big shoutout to Tyler! I accidentally booked my appointment for next week, but when I came in, I told Tyler I needed a haircut for a festival the very next day. They were fully booked, so I figured I was out of luck. But just two minutes after I left, Tyler called me with amazing news—a cancellation had popped up, and I could get in that same day! Total lifesaver!

Positive experience: The staff are wonderful towards the men in my life, but the Executive Leadership would be wise to invest in safer and updated equipment for customers and staff 1) The barber chairs are out of date. If a man has trouble ambulating stairs , it is awkward and potentially dangerous to access their barber chairs. Heaven help the men who are stroke survivors. 2) The rugs are easily caught in canes and a trip/fall risk for men whose gait is a struggle and a foot gets caught, The rugs easily bunches up. Executive Leadership could do better by both their employees and customers by investing in chairs and rugs that accommodate seniors or individuals who cope with physical disabilities It is clear that staff care about their customers and do their best to accommodate but staff and customers need their Executive Leadership to come through

My son decided to cut his own hair, so they had a challenge to fix it. Janice did an amazing job and he looked handsome after his cut! This will be our new hair saloon place! Highly recommend them!!

Positive experience: Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere. Note: the cheapest time slot is for only 30 minutes which wasn't clear when booking online. If you want more than a trim then this isn't enough time. Staff was understanding when I made this mistake. I would recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: This saloon is by far my favorite for the sole fact that they employ Valerie. She does an amazing job every time and makes you feel comfortable. Not to mention it's always good conversation. I started going here because I live right down the road but as I move farther away I will continue to come to this store as long as Valerie is there.

Negative experience: Normally I go to Great Clips, but this time decided to give Hair Saloon a try. I will rate them on three aspects. I will also compare them with Great Clips across the Street : 1) Final Haircut (3/5): my haircut looked fine at the end. I have had better cuts and worse ones. The end results was on par with 'Great clips'. I have given them 3/5 in the past so this place gets the same. 2) Haircut experience (0/5): It was painful, literally. The hairstylist didn't seem to know that a comb is to be used gently. For 20 minutes it felt like I was getting my scalp scraped with a rake. I told her, she changed the comb but obviously the issue was not the comb. At the end my skin felt sore and raw. Also, as a matter of principle, hairstylists should not have long nails. If they do, then they should learn how to style hair without scratching. Mine scratched my head at least three times when shampooing. Right now, I am concerned that I might get some kind of infection. At Great Clips the experience is 3.5/5; it has never been painful. 3) Overall ambience/environment (4/5): Haircut started on time, staff was friendly, coffee was a nice touch. Great clips gets 3/5. Hair Saloon: 7/15, Great Clips: 9.5/15 Hair Saloon cost:$35(with tip); Great clips cost:($21 with tip) So, why did I leave a tip? The stylist tried very hard to do her best. She just didn't have enough experience or training, I think. It was probably just my bad luck. Conclusion: I think I will go to Great Clips in the future, as it is better value for money and it has never been painful.

Fantastic experience: Valerie is the best stylist I’ve ever used. She was very relaxed, friendly and an excellent stylist. I’ll def be back. I used this Brad Pitt photo as an example of the hair style I wanted, and she was able to reproduce the look exceptionally well.
