Negative experience: I'm extremely frustrated with my experience here. I walked in without an appointment and was assigned a barber who looked about 18 years old. I don't have an issue with his age, but I have medium-length hair that requires actual skill and technique—you can't just run a machine through it and call it done. You need to know what you're doing with this type of hair, or at least be honest and say "Hey, I don't have experience with this, please wait for another barber who does." I'm leaving one star because now I have to grow my hair out all over again since he completely messed it up. When you're charging $40 for a haircut, customers should expect barbers who either have the experience to handle different styles or the professionalism to admit when something's outside their skill set. You need to be way more careful about who you're assigning to clients.

Negative experience: ⭐️ 1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointed I honestly left very disappointed with my son’s haircut and the overall experience. I personally don’t think this establishment is kid-friendly at all. The staff had no patience and no sense of urgency when it came to cutting my son’s hair. We waited over 20 minutes, and then when another couple with a baby walked in after us, they were taken before us — even though we were clearly there first. When I spoke up, they told me “just give us five more minutes and then it’s your turn.” I asked why we couldn’t go first and let the people who arrived after us wait five minutes instead, since that would be fair. They just repeated the same line. My son is two years old — he does not have the patience to sit through long waits, and any kids’ haircut place should understand that. If you’re looking for stylists who have experience, quickness, and genuine patience with toddlers, this is not the place. After all that waiting, the haircut itself was rushed and done poorly. The cut was uneven and not blended, and now I have to take my son somewhere else to fix it. Terrible service, unorganized, and definitely not a place for kids. I will not be returning. Also don’t get the guy in the back

Negative experience: I recently visited this salon and left feeling extremely frustrated. In my personal experience, the prices were much higher than expected for the quality of service I received. Communication was a big issue — the staff didn’t speak English, so it was very difficult to explain what I wanted or to understand what they were doing with my hair. It felt like there was constant confusion. On top of that, the pricing seemed unclear. I was surprised to see that they charged different amounts depending on the seat or station, which made the whole experience feel even less transparent. Overall, I personally wouldn’t return. For the price, I expected better communication, clearer pricing, and a more comfortable experience.

I’m used to paying $100/haircut out in the west coast and Max Mood can easily charge that much too. Prices here are amazing. Easily I’ve gone to ASL a few times and he is the GOAT, honestly they’re all great!!! ❤️ They know how to shape your haircut to fit your head shape.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a Barber shop and came across Max Mood as they stood out and had excellent reviews. I walked in and asked to be cut my Eldos. The barber shop is very welcoming and they have a warm environment. A huge plus, they play nice music. Eldos did a very good job with my hair and listened to everything I said I wanted. Little did I know, everybody spoke Uzbek and I immediately connected with all of them. I spoke to every barber in Uzbek and had great conversations. Thank you to Max Mood’s barber shop. I will definitely be coming back!

Positive experience: I visited Max-Mood today for a haircut and beard trim. I was charged an additional fee because I requested a specific stylist, but neither the cashier nor the stylist informed me of this surcharge beforehand. Although I paid the extra amount, I was dissatisfied with the lack of transparency. This experience will make me reconsider visiting the store in the future.

Negative experience: We may have been scheduled with the wrong stylist because our experience did not align with the many positive reviews. It appeared that the individual assisting us might not have the proper training, as it seems a lot of guys there just observe others cutting hair. This raised some concerns about whether he was fully certified. I brought my son in for a simple fade and comb-over—his hair took a long time to grow out, and we were excited for a nice cut. However, the stylist immediately said my son’s hair was “too messy” and recommended shaving his entire head. This felt unnecessary and made us question his experience. My husband asked for the reasoning behind shaving it completely, especially since it took months to grow out. At that point, we decided it was best not to proceed with the haircut. I’m grateful we chose to leave rather than agree to a drastic cut that made no sense. I would just advise others to be mindful of who they’re booked with, as some staff may not have the skill level you expect from this establishment.

Negative experience: I have been coming to Max Mood for the past few months. My usual barber, Frank, was on vacation. I had a friend’s wedding to attend so was in need of a haircut and beard trim. Ended up going with one of the newer barbers while I was waiting for my turn. The haircut itself was pretty decent. The main issues I have is that he cut me on my upper lip while lining up my mustache and it’s been quite painful. In addition, my neck line was pushed too high up and isn’t properly lined up, which I wasn’t able to check properly until I came home. It also looks like a huge chunk was shaved out of the middle. I’m pretty upset because now I’m just going to have to wait for it to grow back and I don’t think can be fixed in its current state, prior to me going on my trip tomorrow. All in all, I’m pretty upset with my most recent experience, and I’m not sure if I will be coming back or looking for another shop. However, my experience with Frank has been great and I would highly recommend him.

Negative experience: Not for young children. Brought my 4yo for a haircut as a walk-in. Sounded like they'd be up for doing a trendier cut he's been asking for vs the standard cut they do at the kids places. They brought us to the back station, around the corner by the bathroom. Station was dirty and looked like nothing had been cleaned in a few cuts (I only noticed half way into the cut). He nipped my 4yo's neck with the razor and, when my son cried, he had the audacity to tell a four year old that he shouldn't cry because he's a boy, not a girl. To top it off, he not only didn't do the cut we asked for, the fades he did aren't even good. I'm going to have to take him somewhere else to get it cleaned up.
