I just want to confirm in my living life of 32 years I’ve never had the experience. A place that cuts hair call me for my bad experience… and ask me what can they do to make it right? Negative experience: am writing to share my recent experience at your salon, which, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations. Yesterday, I had my haircut done by a lady who I believe is the manager. While she did a satisfactory job on the top of my hair, the sides were not well done. When she showed me the back of my hair with a mirror, she did not provide a mirror to check the sides, which I overlooked at the time. During the haircut, she used a razor on the back of my head but did not apologize for any discomfort caused. It was only this morning that I realized the back looked poorly done and I had a cut. I returned today to get this fixed. Despite having to wait for 30 minutes upon my return, no discount was offered. When I requested one, the woman assisting me seemed annoyed and rude, stating that getting my hair fixed for free should be sufficient. Plus, I’m a regular. I go there all the time. I believe this was not a fair response given the inconvenience and the poor service received initially. I would appreciate it if you could provide some clarification on my options for compensation, as I feel this experience was not handled professionally. the person who caught my hair and fixed it Did a really phenomenal, job She gave me customer satisfaction. The person understood what bad experience. I had And that person fixed my hair . I wish I knew the person’s name because That person made it right.

Fantastic experience: I'm newer to the area and it was time to find a shop to get my haircut. Right when I walked in I knew I made the right choice, the vibe was immaculate. Ascension was my stylist and did incredible, exactly what I wanted. January 7th, 2025- Just an update, I've been coming here for two years now, and I'm impressed Everytime income on. Someone has cut my hair the last two times and it's amazing how he works. He's an artist at his craft to say the least.

Negative experience: This place is a disaster. I've been rescheduled every time I've scheduled an appointment with them due to call off's or "running late" or someone taking a leave. I've waited over 25 minutes for an appointment and only once have I received a note ahead of time so I could plan accordingly. Haircuts are average, but cost is high. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal experience every time. Everyone is kind and helpful. I always feel revitalized afterwards!
Negative experience: Brought my teen son in for a haircut. He was unsure if he wanted 2 or 3 inches off and told her that up front. Stylist was rude and said if he wanted more off he would need a whole separate appointment and pay double. Stylists always say that they can take more off if needed at the time. Never had this kind of response. Never went back after that. Cuts are also very highly priced compared to similar services in the area.

Negative experience: Kind of frustrating to go for a cut, have the barber only cut a certain length off then tell you that you need to schedule another appointment to actually get the cut/hairstyle you want. The hairstyle wasn't even anything crazy. Also paid full price. Finding somewhere else for my husband to go.
Negative experience: If I could give a negative star I would to that. My son had an appointment yesterday with his hair stylist. She was sick and instead of calling him to reschedule they assigned another hair stylist Jess to cut his hair. We have never seen a worse haircut. I was in shock when he came home. Besides not listening to him how to cut it, it was cut completely uneven. The left side was shorter above the ear than the right side. The back was butchered. It was horrific. He went to another barbershop to get it fixed today. Even that barber said it was a very bad haircut. For the money Floyd's charges we expect more quality. He won't be back.
Negative experience: Got my kid here for a haircut. He was holding tears until walked out of the door. Not because he is a child, but because of what she did with his hair. Absolutely talentless barber! Management: I understand that empty chair doesn’t pay the rent by itself, but if the person can’t do a simple men haircut- she shouldn’t be there!
Fantastic experience: I have now gone here three times and have been super happy with how my hair has turned out each time. I saw Sam the first two times and they have done a great job with helping me have a cute haircut as I'm trying to grow my hair out after chemo. Today I just saw Lisa for a bang trim (I happened to be off and couldn't stand being stabbed in the eye anymore) and potential undercut and she did such a good job! The guy at the front is always pleasant and greets with a smile. Definitely recommend the Naperville location!

Fantastic experience: We've been searching for a new stylist and barbershop that my son approves. So far, we have worked with four stylists, and his been happy with each of them. Jordan & Gio have been his favorites, though. Their craftsmanship, personalities, and conversation really made him comfortable, and he walked away looking great. On top of that, the environment is relaxing and comfortable. Update for 2/2025 - My teenage son had the privilege of working with Chloe. She took his mop of a hairstyle and cleaned it up nicely. She constantly asked for his thoughts to make sure he was happy. Her tapering work was excellent on the sides and back. With all of the staffing changes, he may have found his new go-to barber. When I came in for a cut without a reservation, I was lucky enough to have Chloe as my stylist, and she made the entire experience incredible. Negative experience: Extremely upset. My son went in for his scheduled haircut and had a horrible experience. The individual who cut his hair didn't listen to what he wanted which was an inch off the top and rear and 1-2 fade/taper on sides and lower back. More than an inch taken from top, back fully removed and the stylist/barber actually told him he didn't have time for a fade and shaved the entire back and all sides with a level 1...leaving my son with just a puff of curly hair on top. My son is 17 and polite, I asked him why he didn't say anything and he told me it happened so fast he was stunned, didnt know what to do. And if that wasn't bad enough the barber was actually wearing ear buds and watching a movie while cutting his hair. It enrages me that he was taken advantage of and treated like nothing. I realize it is just a haircut but to be treated that horribly in the service industry. SHAME! I called and spoke with the front desk letting her know we have been loyal customers for years, not sure what happened. She said the manager would text me to select a time to connect... I haven't received any response. I would like to discover the owner and route my complaint up the chain.

Fantastic experience: We were unsure if we’d get in before Christmas, but Floyd’s squeezed us in! Sam paid attention to every detail and perfectly blended my husband’s tight fade with a hard part. She was also kind, engaging, and finished his haircut in under 30 minutes. She suggested products but wasn’t pushy at all. We will continue to come back and request Sam.

Negative experience: I ask for a normal regular fade which this person said the specialized in, the fade was alright but did not look like the picture I showed. Then I ask for a little off the top because I wanted to keep it long for styling and to grow it out, but she proceeded to give me almost a buzz. NOT HAPPY!

Fantastic experience: Mateo is the BEST barber I have ever went to. I have been to many. Today, Friday June 12th, I got my first hair style in 12 years. I always buzzed my head myself. I showed Mateo 2 photos and he said he got it and did it. It looks amazing. Usually I would get a beard trim and a nose wax but they are not doing that now. Which is cool. I cannot believe he has such skill with the straight razor and buzzers. Mateo BARBER, this is the man. I tip really well, usually 100% of the price, but please remember, CASH IS BETTER FOR TIPS. I was told by my wife that cash tips are not ok at this point so I had to put it on my card. Now I know that this is not true here at 99. Cash is better for tip. My hair is amazing. Negative experience: It saddens me to leave this review as I’ve had pretty good past experiences with this shop, but I decided to try a new stylist last time (Lauren) and I was amazed at how rude she was. Never in my life have I had a stylist talk to me in such a way. The end haircut was nice, I can’t complain about that other than it’s not entirely what I wanted as she didn’t allow me to fully explain what I wanted before making rude comments, cutting me off, and assuming what I was trying to say before I could say it. But, I do like the cut. It’s just the way she came at me is inexcusable. Not sure if she had a bad day or what happened there, and I’m also not saying avoid Lauren or this shop as Lauren does have a few good reviews and Floyd’s is decent, but what I experienced the other day was just absolutely (genuinely) horrible. Giving 1 star for the haircut and another star for my past good experiences at Floyd’s.

Negative experience: In your Business name it includes Barbershop. Why would you have non-licensed barbers cutting hair? I came in for a hair cut and a beard trim. I found out there was an unlicensed barber cutting my hair and did not receive a beard trim. Hair cut was terrible as well. Was in and out in 15 mins and did not spend anytime on my hair. Everything is uneven and the tapered line on my neck is terrible. I should’ve just went to Great clips.

Positive experience: Haircut is fine, it’s never consistent though. Been here three times and the price always ends up being $10 higher than what it should be and if there are additional charges the stylist never mentions it during the cut, they just do it. Overall the atmosphere is nice, waiting area is very compact and haircut was OK. Just wish they were more upfront about the costs. About $70 for a quick fade and beard trim is insane.

Negative experience: Prices continue to increase and quality has gone down. My barber took an hour to give me a simple haircut, and it was almost as if he had never given a haircut before. He was very nice, but the quality of the haircut was very poor. I spoke with the manager and she said “Yea, he gives slow haircuts. You should request a new stylist next time so you don’t get your haircut from him.” No apology, discount or verbal confirmation that she’d address the issue with the stylist, which is concerning. I would recommend looking for other barbershops in the area, if you’re looking.
Fantastic experience: Great service. Made a same day appointment. The app. Is easy to use and didn't have to wait when I got there. The stylist listened to what I wanted and explained what she was doing before she did it. Very professional.

Negative experience: Walked in - 4 people hanging out talking, one person cutting hair. Waited 15 minutes as I figured they were setting up for the day - wasn’t even acknowledged as a breathing person.
Fantastic experience: Floyd's has a great atmosphere and some amazingly talented stylists- Christina has taken care of me across many brands, and this is my favorite store she's worked at. Well worth the trip from the NW Burbs to see her@

Fantastic experience: I went to Floyd's for the first time, and Mateo took care of me, getting my hair styled for my wedding two days later. He got me looking better than I have in years, and gave me a crazy good shave as well. I've gotten nothing but compliments from folks who have seen the new style. 10/10, would recommend! Update 10/6/23: Still awesome. Saw Frankiee, and she was amazing. still recommend, and I now drive 30 mins to go here!

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst place to get a haircut. Both my friend and I have had bad experiences, and each time they didn’t give what was asked for. Actually ruined my whole experience. I’d rather have Hellen Keller cut my hair if I would’ve known it was going to be that bad.
Fantastic experience: Felt very welcome--as a genderqueer person going to the barber, this can be difficult! Everyone was super kind and my hair was done the way I wanted! I also felt like products weren't being pushed on me.

Positive experience: I have gone there 4 times now. Each time has been a good experience. However, if they are in a hurry, they skip things like the massage. Little things like that, I look forward to. I was disappointed this last time due to this. And yes, I still tipped.

I called Floyd’s for a hair emergency on a Friday night less than an hour before closing. They got him right in and didn’t just fix it- It looked stellar. Thank you guys! Fantastic experience: I have been to about six different Floyd's 99 barbershop locations between Chicago and the suburbs and I think this Naperville location is exceptional. Been to this location a bunch of the past year and have not had a single bad experience. Every different hair stylist I had was excellent. They are all friendly and very knowledgeable on tends and styles. I think the cost is a very good value too.

Fantastic experience: This is the best place to get a hair cut for my son. I tried so many barbershop before and they never did the hairstyle as I wanted for my son Floyd's has done PERFECT. The customer service is INCREDIBLE. Sara gave a popsicle to my son she was so sweet. I'm definitely coming back again.

Positive experience: Everyone is very friendly and their work is far superior to my last hair place. Update - the 20 minute appointment change is a joke. Chloe is a fantastic stylist but if she were to try and speed through to get my hair done in 20 min I probably would tell her I would not come back. It needs to go back to 30 min so customers and the stylists do not feel rushed.
