Positive experience: A little expensive, but never a bad cut.

Negative experience: I want to rate higher, but it’s unfortunate that each time I visit, I’m left disappointed. This could just be a me problem, it seems many people have positive outcomes. The first time I visited, my hair was cut very uneven, noticeable enough that my coworkers asked “what happened” to my hair. I called the shop to see what they could do. I was told they might be able to help me out, since they often get people trying to get free haircuts. I went into the shop to explain my situation, a different hairstylist was very nice and took a look at my hair, she said it was the most uneven she’s seen in a long time. She helped me out but unfortunately my hair had to be cut much shorter than what I initially asked for. Fast forward a couple months, I go in for another haircut, show pictures of exactly what I want, and my hair is cut significantly shorter than what I presented. I don’t think I’ll be back. I’m sure people with shorter cuts will be satisfied, but I’ve been continuously disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Today I went to the Canton Corner Barbershop for the first time as I just moved to the neighborhood. What a great experience. Everybody is so friendly and kind. Sara did an amazing job and I fully recommend the place.

Negative experience: Wanted a fresh cut before my trip next week, so I came here since it’s local… Until now, I’ve never left a barbershop feeling like I wanted to shave my head bald when I got home. When I put my glasses back on, I was so appalled by what I saw that I couldn’t even be bothered to ask the barber to fix it cause I just wanted to leave the place as quickly as I could. I brought in reference photos and the barber didn’t even take his time to look at it and see what it looked like or ask me any questions on how I wanted it. Now I just look like a bald mushroom. No haircut has ever made me so feel so ugly and embarrassed to be alive as the one I just got from here. There’s no fixing what was done to my hair, I’ll either have to shave it all off or wear hats for the next couple months.

Fantastic experience: Going to a new barber always gives me so much anxiety, once you find your person, it’s like you’re married to them. I was in town for the weekend and I desperately needed a haircut, so I took a chance on a local friend’s recommendation. I needed my beard trimmed, and I usually get a bald fade. My hair is very curly and not just anyone does a good job with curly hair. Let me tell you… best haircut I’ve ever had. I didn’t catch her name unfortunately , but she was at the station with the Trick-Flow stickers on her mirror. She cuts hair like she’s possessed, I mean that in the best way possible. Go with confidence, have a cold Boh while you wait. Pay them well. It’s worth it.

Fantastic experience: Eric is the best barber I have ever had. My hair looks amazing every time- it grows in great and although it looks cleaned up, I never feel like I have to grow into loving my hair cut - perfect every time! Won’t trust my hair to anyone else !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been getting my hair cut here specifically by Eric for a year now- I’ve been to a number of different shops in Baltimore and he by far is the best there is. The most important thing to me is consistency in how the cut looks and flexibility in schedule and he nails both aspects. I’m glad I stumbled across this place and got connected specifically to Eric because I plan on being a customer for a long time!

Fantastic experience: Eric has been cutting my hair for about 3 years now and I refuse to go see anyone else. I go in there and he remembers exactly what I get and does a great job every time. If you’re looking for a good fade, you gotta see Eric.

Negative experience: Avoid the barber who works in the far corner, there’s a reason everyone else was busy and he was sat outside trying to poach a client. Doesn’t understand what a fade is, and shaved whole back and side down to a 1 and even clipped into the top of the head. It’ll take months to grow out to top of sides to be able to get a decent fade now

Fantastic experience: Great local barbershop. I travel for work, and I'm always hesitant of new places. But eveyone here is spot on. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new barbershop.

Negative experience: If I’m paying $35 for a 30 minute haircut, the most basic expectation is that you listen to what I ask, pay attention to your work, and not rush like a mad man.

Fantastic experience: I moved to Baltimore a little over a year ago and settled in Canton. After 3 months of not getting a haircut, I stumbled upon Canton Corner and I’ve never gone back. My barber, Tyler Smith, continues to amaze me with each and every visit. I walk out looking fresh and honestly, his haircuts really help boost my self esteem. I only ever get good haircuts here and Tyler is my guy so if you’re looking for a fresh fade/line up/beard trim, you should hit him up! The other barbers are talented and give excellent cuts as well! Also, the decor and vibe of the place is sick as hell!

Fantastic experience: I knew nothing about Baltimore before I moved here from out of state. I found a row home in Canton that I loved, but knew nothing about Canton. Knowing not a single person in the city, I thought to myself; the "pulse" of a good neighborhood could always be found at the local barber shop growing up... so I walked the block over to The Canton corner Barber Shop... fast forward two years later, I have been walking here every two weeks since then for my skin fade; great cuts, great people, awesome neighborhood atmosphere, and an incredibly helpful online scheduling app for those with a busy lifestyle... I highly recommend, 5 stars!

Negative experience: My husband has been coming here 8 years of his life. The past 5-6 times the haircut and beard trim are not what he’s asking for. This time today, he’s upset he spent 45 dollars on his hair cut for it to be NOTHING he asked for. “Hard part” is not existent. Asked for a beard trim and cut almost all of it off and he hates it. It’s sad how things change. He likes everything about the barber shop and the environment but it’s just not the same anymore.

Fantastic experience: Tried Canton Corner Barbershop today and had the good fortune of having Josh cut my hair. A great cut and really nice guy. I will definitely be back.

Negative experience: Been here a few times….once was very good but then the guy quit. Had a female, she was alright. Another guy, a little crooked. Another girl, very crooked…what I’m saying is it’s a place of inconsistency and fresh-from-barber-school barbers….i guess unless you go inside and demand someone with experience? But the mistakes made on my hair should’ve been grounds for not graduating barber school.

Fantastic experience: This is hands down the best barbershop experience I’ve ever had and I travel all over the country for work. My man “D” has been cutting professional athletes hair for years, he even has the pictures on the walls to prove it. He goes above and beyond for his customers. Not only did he do a hot towel shave he exfoliates and moisturizes after your beard cut. This felt more like a spa than a barbershop. Your chair vibrates and massages your back. He trimmed my hair, beard and eyebrows. All the stops were pulled out. If you want a top notch hair cut and experience you need to go see “D”, you won’t regret it!

Negative experience: Terrible experience. I am here for work and needed a haircut before a vacation to Vegas. If you’re looking for a fade, this is NOT the place to go. I was left with patches and uneven sides. It was so terrible I did not even want to go to my vacation anymore. I’m so thankful I walked around the block and found “Canton Barbers,” now he IS a pro. What he did was art, he was able to correct these mistakes and saved my vacation.

Fantastic experience: I just moved to Baltimore and had a haircut here for the first time. I didn’t book an appointment but I didn’t wait longer than 5 minutes. Josh did an amazing job and I’m happy to have found the right place for my haircuts. Definitely recommend. Especially Josh!

Fantastic experience: Sara cuts me and my husband we love her and will probably know her for a long time to come, she’s the busiest in the shop but there are other good barbers here to just pay attention when you’re in the waiting area and just point to the person you think you may want to do your hair, the owner may not permits this but it’s not frowned upon as such others have stated. Grab a Natty and chill don’t be a Ken you have choices at every barber shop it’s up to you to pay attention to them.

Fantastic experience: I am here in Baltimore for work, and I was very apprehensive to get a haircut outside of my place back home. I went to The Canton Corner Barbershop, and it was a great experience. Alanna (I believe her name was, blonde haired young lady) gave me a wonderful high skin fade with a hard part. I daresay it's a better haircut than I've gotten back home. Thanks for putting me at ease and providing a really great haircut. If I have to get my hair cut again in Baltimore, there's only one place I am going.

Fantastic experience: Great local option for a reasonably priced haircut. It has a pleasant home-town, local feel and ambiance inside. Attentive barbers that know how to blend hair. I like the included neck shave and optional eye-brow trim. Rarely a long wait if one does the online reservation.

Positive experience: This place is completely average. I’ve been here at least 10 times and have not gotten the same barber twice. You can’t request a specific barber online. It appears to be a revolving door of barbers. The last guy didn’t even have a license displayed or anything and wasn’t in the tip book either. Of my 10+ cuts, I’d say about 8 of the 10 haven’t said a word to me, and don’t show me any progress along the way so they turn you around after sitting there for 45 minutes and if you don’t like it it’s too late.

Fantastic experience: I used Tom's up on Conklin Street for over a decade, but they closed down back in December or January, and since then, I've been using Canton Corner. I've been there three times, and yesterday had to have been my best cut there yet. Alana did a great job, and while everyone there is super friendly, she explained all the various numbers she did for my cut. I'll be using her from now on.

Positive experience: This place is amazing. Family owned barbershop. Barbers for generations. I was gifted to be cut by Larry. Great conversation, amazing insight. And he cut me up good. I went in with hair and beard all scraggly. He made me look and feel great. I cannot recommend this place enough. 15 out of 10. I will tell everyone I can to go here Edit: I had the displeasure of going to get my haircut here again. The barber "Scott" (I only know his name from an associate talking to him) didn't even try for a conversation. He was more concerned with talking sports with the client next to me. I showed him a picture of what I wanted (Thor Ragnarok haircut) and he said "I don't do designs" even though the design is 2 lateral cuts making a v on each side. He also did not offer product or texture as all the barbers around him were doing. Don't get me wrong, it is a good haircut. And I still tipped. But I'm pretty upset about the difference in my last few cuts versus this one. I will schedule in the future, and I will not let Scott cut my hair again. Quite disappointed. I hope Larry reads this

Fantastic experience: The best barber shop in the city. I went here for a shave and shape up prior to my wedding and Larry absolutely had me feeling like a million bucks. I regularly come here for my haircuts and I can say the same about every barber who I have worked with. The cuts and services are affordable and are always top quality. This is absolutely the barber to go to in Baltimore hands down. They have earned a life time customer in me for sure!

Negative experience: I asked for no more than an inch to be taken off the top. I stated I’d rather they cut less than too much as with curly hair taking off just a little weight causes everything to spring up. The barber took off at least 3 times that. All was fine until the barber decided to texturize my hair without asking me first. Apparently as they were dry combing my curly hair they felt the need to get rid of “the poof” effectively destroying my curl pattern. Final results were exactly what I asked them NOT to do. Plus the addition of an uneven and and poorly outlined cut. This barber needs to know that even if you don’t know how to cut curly hair. You should always keep the fundamentals.

Negative experience: Came in with long hair specifically asked just for some thickness to be taken out and add some layers while just shortn the back so it's more off the shoulder. I got a long fad buzz style on the side and the top shortn inches!! I even showed them a photo and it's nothing like that! I never had a shop give me a hair cut completely different then I asked as this one. I would leave negative stars if I could. If you have long hair, go to a salon this isn't the place for you.

Fantastic experience: I drive 30 minutes every Sunday to get my haircut by Scott Mitchell. Most barbers get my haircut right 70% of the time, but Scott hits it out of the ballpark—every single time. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Positive experience: Been coming here for years. Always good. Just some feedback for you all. Full disclosure, Did not have appointment. I always just do the walk in’s. Went in for a cut at 5:15pm and was told walk in’s not accepted past 5pm? Website says open until 7. So seems a little strange to have the cut off be 2 hours early. However people coming home from work I get it. There is a rush. However, There were 3 barbers total without customers. Literally sitting in their chairs texting on the phone, 0 customers in the waiting area. To be clear the gentleman who explained the situation to me was very polite and clear and just following the procedure. Just seems like an awful policy to have.

Fantastic experience: I’m very picky when it comes to getting my haircut. I’ve been living in Baltimore for 2 years, and I’m kicking myself for not coming to this business sooner. George was really nice and easy to talk to, and he was very meticulous with the way that my hair was cut, which I was super appreciative of. Without a doubt I’ll be returning, and you should too!

Negative experience: Asked for it to be rounded in back, even showed her a picture(see below), she tapered it to a point; didn't trim my neck; sideburns were very uneven, with one coming to the bottom of the earlobe and one extending past the bottom of my ear(I fixed that one best I could with razor). First time going here, will be the last.

Negative experience: I've been here twice now. The first time was great. Nice, progressional barber. All was good. But the second time (and they don't let you book a certain barber) they gave me a student. She was lost the whole time and needed the teacher / boss to help her. Definitely not the professional experience I expected.

Fantastic experience: I can’t emphasize enough how picky I am about my hair. With that said, I can’t recommend these guys enough. This team of hair perfectionists are hand selected from a barbor school in the area and always seem to deliver a fantastic experience. Each one of them take time to understand everything you’re looking for and offer an attentive experience that you can trust. Great perks- you always get a hot neck shave, there are natty bohs to enjoy, and there’s a rewards program that inevitably leads to a free cut. Special shout out to Florida Rob who has provided what was essentially a hair consultation as I was trying to figure out what I even wanted. Just got my haircut from Chris who delivered a great experience and quality conversation. Point being, I trust every barbor there.

Fantastic experience: Came in with the groom for a wedding and I'm pleased to say it was awesome. You can tell the history is serious, and so is the customer service. The owner cut my hair, and we even had Baltimore BOH while we got lined up. Overall fantastic!

Negative experience: I had a great experience previously. This time was much different. The hairdresser seemed very inexperienced. I'm sure they're understaffed. Good luck retaining customers when I think you have someone without a license cutting hair. She didn't know what the buzzer sizes were and just scissor cut it all. Very uneven cut. I asked for 2 inches on top and had to repeatedly ask for it shorter. The front was very long on one side since she left it parted. She would comb sections and cut. Instead of holding the comb steady at the right length, the comb would just keep moving. The trimming around my ears and back of my neck was awful and not straight. She nicked my neck when doing the shave. Had to go to Great Clips to get it fixed. Never going again.

Fantastic experience: Great local barbershop with an old school feel. They take bookings on their website I suggest doing so. They do take walk-ins but why not book a chair.

Negative experience: I have lived in Baltimore for just a year. I've come here on 4 occasions. Everytime my haircut was great. Never really knew what I wanted and they made it look awesome. But beware if you have a long beard. 3 of the 4 times my length was cut off when I clearly stated I was growing it out. Most recently was the worst, uneven cheek lines, 3 months of growth cut off, and Chris didn't even brush the mask line out of my beard before he trimmed it. Now I have a good haircut, beard that looks like a 6 month growth beard, and it's uneven. Great with hair, seems they just need better beard training.

Fantastic experience: Great job cutting my hair, was going to another place in Canton area for years but my regular person never showed up for our appointment, got tired of rescheduling so i walked out and Google The Canton Corner and they had no problem with taking me in as a walk in, plus the Barber Rob did a great job. Even got my neck shaved. 5 star. My new home now.

Positive experience: I had an appointment July 28 for 1:15 and was assigned a barber at #7 chair. Haircut was great and at the end the barber asked if I wanted her to trim my eyebrows. I said yes. After I left I discovered that she not only trimmed the length of my eyebrows but shaped them as well… but not so well. I’m not happy. I would have appreciated a choice as to the “shaping”. Also, I was charged $25. The website says $20 for a regular haircut. Was the $5 for the eyebrows? Again I would have appreciated knowing about the extra cost since it’s usually a standard included feature at most barbers.

Fantastic experience: Went in on a busy Friday afternoon as a walk-in. Didn’t wait too long, but enjoyed the atmosphere while I was waiting. Loads of old Baltimore photos on the wall and good music playing. I got my haircut by Tyler, I think that was her name. She was new to the shop and I watched her cut the guy’s hair before me almost exactly how I wanted, so I requested her. Extremely happy with the skin fade. Also got my mustache trimmed and a straight razor shave. Great experience, highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Just moved to the city and went here for the first time this week. Stuart was super kind, patient, and meticulous. The haircut was on point. I will definitely be going back! It's street parking but I found a spot pretty close.

Fantastic experience: Excellent barbershop. Professional, good quality, consistent men's haircuts. $25 for a simple cut, though they also offer other services. It's absolutely worth it as a step up from a chain or corporate shop. This family owned, neighborhood spot employs barbers (not cosmetologists, but barbers), many of whom seem to have trained at a school that the owner also runs. I learned that the owner's father used to be a barber in Italy, and that the son also currently works as one of the employees at the shop. Glad this place made it through the COVID pandemic. As of June 2021 they're currently taking online reservations but also have one slot available for walk ins. Everyone's wearing masks, including customers while getting their haircut (they're good at working around the mask or moving it momentarily when needed), which even though I'm vaccinated makes me confident things are run well here and definitely makes me feel like I can return here regularly now.

Fantastic experience: Went in for a beard trim / shaping. The barber took over 30 minutes to make sure that I walked out of there with what I was looking for and It cost me $14. I will definitely come back.

Fantastic experience: I contacted them after throughly seeking out great barber for skin fades since my barber no longer was employed by the establishment that I had been going to for several years. So I called asked if they take walk ins and then showed up 15 min later and waited for 5 minutes before being taken to Sara’s chair. I was hesitant at first mainly because I haven’t had the best luck with female barbers. However; I am so glad that I was able to get Sara! She killed it! Probably one of the best haircuts I’ve gotten in a long time! This shop was clean with a super friendly vibe. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be returning to book with Sara again!!

Positive experience: I keep giving this place a chance. Idk if I just get stuck with the bad barbers of the day each time or what. But I'm never satisfied with my cut. I have a hard time explaining my cut so I've taken a picture of myself with the exact haircut I had that I want and the mark is missed each time. I want to support local and everyone is super friendly. It's just so hard to find a good barber.

Fantastic experience: I made an appointment on Wednesday for a Saturday appointment and when I got there they were very busy. However, they made sure to serve appointments first and I didn't wait long at all. Sara cut my hair and it came out great! Probably going to be my go-to spot now!

Positive experience: Overall I was happy with my experience here. The actual barber shop was very cool. It had a cool atmosphere, lots of talking and discussions which is nice. Everyone was wearing either one or two masks, so it felt safe. Stuart did a really nice job and was very friendly and respectful. The online reservation system i'm not sure matters as I had a 4:45 appointment, but when I got there and sat/waited, they just called up whoever was next, so i' m not sure the list really matters. Overall, I'll be back for sure.

Fantastic experience: Went here for the first time today and got my haircut from the guy called Chris. I noticed how he put a lot of effort in catching the details. Definitely coming here again. Good service, good price, nice atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Rob was awesome. The vibe of the shop was laid back and fun. One of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. Edit: several months later and still five stars. I've been back a few times since. I'm still so happy everytime I leave.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for about 2 years now. The barbers are very good and I've never had a bad haircut from this place. Before COVID they had a beer cooler stocked with Natty Boh, so you could enjoy a cold beer while waiting for your name to be called. That has been discontinued during COVID, but I expect it to return when things go back to normal. You can make an appointment during quarantine through their website - the only drawback is they only list the available barbers as "Barber 1, Barber 2, etc" so if you have a favorite barber, there's no guarantee they will even be working that day. My favorite barber is Rae, but in my experience every single barber there is far superior to any barber I've had at any of the other barber shops around the city. Everyone there acts very professional and courteous. The barbershop has an old timey appearance with the atmosphere and staff you would expect from an almost rockabilly (I'm sure there's a better description, but this is the most accurate I can think of right now) atmosphere and staff. I love this place enough that I actual drive across town to get my haircut and would highly recommend it to a friend. Definitely check it out and I'm sure you'll have as pleasant of an experience as I do.

Fantastic experience: Always an amazing job! I do like the appointment system now. I know it was because of COVID-19 but I hope they keep it. My fade is perfect. I always ask for Tyler, AKA the Fade King but all do a great job. Thanks!
