Fantastic experience: The Old Bank Barbers is a great spot to get your hair cut in the Hampden area!! Courtney was my barber and she is DELIGHTFUL!!! I had long hair past my shoulders that she was able to transform into an amazing classic looking cut that flatters me. I have never been happier with having really short hair than after going to see her. I got over 10 compliments the first day I had the cut alone. Thank you soso much Courtney!! :)

Fantastic experience: A little out of the way for me, but everyone here is a walking breathing vibe, Dustin always takes good care of me, does a good job, and is good company. But I’ve been coming here for years, tried a few barbers here, and in my experience they don’t hire scrubs. Plan ahead to get a haircut, book an appointment online and you’re good to go! (There’s no deposit)

Fantastic experience: Took my grandson for a back-to-school haircut (he’s 10) and he was so pleased with the outcome, he couldn’t stop smiling. Really neat facility (it was actually a bank building) with friendly barbers who are great with kids and adults. While waiting, I saw a variety of clients receive a variety of cuts and everyone looked satisfied at the end.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for years and always have a wonderful experience. Courtney is fantastic and not only are the haircuts great but the conversations are too. If you arrive early they have some pretty interesting books that are worth perusing as well. It’s a cool relaxed atmosphere and you really do feel like family when you’re there.

Fantastic experience: Danté is amazing. Came in with a mullet expecting I’d have to start from scratch and buzz it. Being the pro he is I ended up with a perfectly clean and textured style. He was willing to listen to my needs, understand my hair texture, my hair routine and form the perfect cut for me. I went from Joe Dirt to Brad Pitt. On top of that he’s very personable, meticulous, and is now my permanent barber!

Negative experience: I had an appointment with Courtney. I arrived early for my haircut and she delayed my haircut even though there was no one before me. Due to this delay, she ended up rushing my haircut since someone was after me. Bad service and she also needs to brush her teeth!

Fantastic experience: One of the only places in Baltimore that gives a good classic pompadour, even if they don't know how to style it properly. Just ask for the "Tiberious" or bring in a pic of your favorite greaser! I take my two year old son here as well, and they treat him nice. As for the atmosphere, it feels more like a tattoo shop than a barber shop, so if you like that kind of thing, this is the place! Also, they only take cash so no cards.

Negative experience: Came here after reading reviews and received a shocking haircut. It was nothing like what I asked for, way too short, and I think the barber was rushing and honestly forgot what I told him at the start. Could have just been the wrong barber on the wrong day, but I don’t plan to come back.

Negative experience: Called the night before and was told walk-ins are welcomed. Drive up from Pasadena. Walked in to head shaking and dirty looks. I guess no one could take me in between appointments because they were too busy cleaning their clippers. Left after being ignored for 40 minutes.

Positive experience: I enjoy the haircuts but sometimes the beard trim is a hit or miss. My beard can be difficult so I have to make sure I get the veterans trimming it. The price is very fair.

Fantastic experience: I don't live in the area, but come down to Baltimore to visit my sisters and their families a few times a year. The last couple of visits we're lengthy, and during that time I needed a haircut. Man am I glad I found Old Bank Barbershop. These guys are very good at what they do, and operate in a highly professional yet very welcoming environment. Plus it's in a cool little section of Baltimore with lots of shops and eateries on the same street. Sean has cut my hair both times I've been there and he is a pro with the clippers and shears. He's also very good people. Sean will keep you entertained with good conversation, or if you just want a quiet haircut he understands that as well. Bottom line is if you want a great haircut, go see Sean or any of the other folks at The Old Bank.

Fantastic experience: I loved coming to Old Bank back in the day but had to leave because I needed to be able to make appointments. Now that they are taking appointments I come once a month and make my next appointment before I leave! Ben has been great and I have been happy with the past three cuts I have had. It is very cool not to have to remember to make an appointment and they remind me when to come. Thanks! Totally disagree with the 2 star review. The atmosphere is great, the people are helpful and the haircuts are just as rad. It’s important to remember leaving a review and a star rating can greatly affect a business. Only leave 5-STAR REVIEWS (do not leave anything lower than 5-stars, it doesn’t help) when you are happy and call to speak to the owner if you are not. Negative experience: Came here after reading multiple reviews. Maybe I got someone on an off day or the wrong person. Decent haircut for the price. Was 18mins for cut and beard trim - so when I got home and inspected the beard trim was quite dissapointed. This is a quick and cheap cut place, avoid the beard trim. Nice and friendly staff, easy to find street parking.

Negative experience: I used to love this place, atmosphere was cool and the barbers were super friendly- not to mention a great haircut. Now, there’s no reading material while you wait. Still free beer, but that’s not as cool when the atmosphere isn’t inviting anymore. Apart from all that, the haircut is not cheap… $30-$35 depending on tip, which was fine because they used to be awesome. You’d sit down and say “do your thing” and they would lay a sweet, modern looking cut on ya. Last time I went, it was a solidly mediocre cut. Bring back the cool, classy old bank!

Fantastic experience: Awesome experience. Brought my 5 year old son with me and he got better treatment than most barbers give their adult customers. We both saw Jack and he was great; really took his time and I’m thrilled with each of our cuts. The shop has a great vibe to it and the barbers here are true craftsmen. Found our new spot.

Well, she called me immediately afterwards and RAVED about how wonderfully she was treated by Ben! He was patient, listened and left her looking and feeling great. Positive experience: Cool, classic hole in the wall with a rustic vibe. Great haircuts, true Barbershop, classic cuts for men and a woman came in as well for a short cut, she looked great! It's literally an old bank. It reminds me how small banks were back then. Plumbing is old, with a threatening sign for those that consider flushing anything other than toilet paper down the toilet. It has a few restaurants nearby, it seems kind of a gentrified area, unsure whether that's better or worse. Skate park nearby, skate shop, a 7-11, a Greek place, an ice cream shop. Parking was difficult to find but very reasonable rates.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for awhile now. Still hella chill, and def love the cuts a get. I have used a few of their barbers at this point, and can sincerely say I haven't had a bad cut yet. They listen and if something needs a touch up at the end; it's done with no issue. That being said I also treat them with respect and it's reciprocated.

Fantastic experience: When I first moved here, I was recommended Old Bank Barbers and every time I go, I'm so grateful that I was! They are queer and trans affirming and even gave me my first "Big Cut" (cut off my long hair in order to help me achieve a more masculine look) and aren't dissuaded by my dyed hair. $25 for a great haircut is an absolute steal. The barbers are very friendly and make good conversation or are comfortable working in silence if that's what you prefer. They are also very willing to listen to what you want; even if you don't know any of the terminology, they'll work with your descriptions to help get you there. (If you're not sure, bring pictures!) Possibly the best part is that you can choose your barber when you book online, so after you find your favorite you can keep working with them! Many times I've seen them take walk-ins when there's a barber available. Lastly, if you have any questions, reach out to them on their website or over the phone!

Fantastic experience: Even tho I moved to PA I still drive 40+ minutes each way to get my haircut here or at Old Market. While I only get my haircut by Dan or John, I can say that all the barbers at both locations do amazing work. Very awesome business that I love to support.

Negative experience: Went in looking for just a trim because I am growing out my hair. I clearly asked for a cleanup which is listed as $15 on their website. At the end of the FIVE MINUTE trim, I was charged $25 (the price of a full haircut). When I asked why she said since she trimmed my ends a little it counts as a full haircut. I didn’t even have the $25 in cash because I was expecting $15 plus tip. She told me I am welcome to go to the ATM around the corner. Hilarious. Won’t be coming again. Fantastic experience: The team at Old Bank have delivering haircuts during Covid down to a science. The super easy online method for setting up an appt and safety measures in the place givee comfort while I was there. Plus, I have a great haircut! Ditto! Still going strong.

Positive experience: We got great haircuts here and the vibe is friendly. It would have been helpful if their booking site or their reminder emails stated that they were cash only. After we visited, i checked the website again and the only place it said “cash only” was halfway down their home page in a little star. If you click through to booking in their menu, you will not see that caveat (not even in the updates section at the top).

Positive experience: This place has j amazing haircuts. They do a really good 28 keep awesome Barbers, they will always have our business along with anyone who 1i me where to het a good cut. They shave the hairs on the tops of my ears and if u have hair inside ur ears I'm pretty sure they'd probably take care of that issue for u also. And another good thing, they also have a small refrigerator and u are able to help urself and choose either a beer or bottled water. But definitely give them a to cut your hair. U will never be disappointed.
