Fantastic experience: Love this place - check it out if you're a man looking for a haircut, pedicure or manicure.

Negative experience: Bought a gift card, but in order to make an appointment, I need to provide a credit card, phone number on the fancy brochure does not work

Fantastic experience: Anna did a great job on my skin fade. I’ll be back for sure.

Negative experience: This place will give you multiple bad haircuts and an even worse attitude. Would not recommend becoming a member here.

Positive experience: The barber was friendly and I appreciated his efforts. However, this was a bad haircut for $50 plus tip. I tried it out. It's not my scene.

Negative experience: I’m not sure why the barber didn’t admit he wasn’t the best one to cut my hair. It’s almost like he just took a stab at it and hoped for the best. I was not charged for this visit thankfully. My feedback would be - any place that charges $45 for a haircut - they should know how to cut every men’s hair type or have your staff listed with what cuts/lengths they’re experienced in on your website while booking. They did attempt to ease the blow by making me not pay even though at the end of the day, it’s not going to grow my hair back. AND I did receive great service when I went there for a pedicure on a prior visit.

Fantastic experience: I am only in Cincinnati a few months a year, and the person I used to go to when in town moved. I found Hammer and Nails on Google. I really liked the guys focus of the salon. The place is two stories of TVs, big comfy chairs, and even a bar. I made a morning appointment which was a mistake, next time I will make a later afternoon appointment and enjoy a beverage from the bar. I also heard that they do cigar happy hours on their patio occasionally in the summer. My haircut from Sade was excellent and efficient. I also used the new member special to grab a manicure which was a nice bit of extra pampering on a chilly fall morning and I think her name was Nikki(sp) did a wonderful job. While a bit more expensive than your quick service haircuts, you get what you pay for in my opinion. I will definitely be visiting Hammer & Nails anytime I am in town and need a haricut (and more).

Fantastic experience: Hammer & Nails does a great job creating an enjoyable and comfortable environment. As someone that doesn't usually take much time to slow down, this place is a special treat that I look forward to regularly. Caitlyn takes great care of me. She's awesome.

Fantastic experience: Upon arrival here I was greeted by Brittany. She clearly explained their membership program offers. Then escorted me on a tour of the facility. Then offered me an adult bererage -introduced me to Darby, who promptly seated me ensured I was comfortable then explained exactly what she was going to do. The next (45) minutes I felt like I was the “only” patron in the building. Darby’s firm yet gentle hand revitalized my feet & I decided then I’d return. Exceptional service professional courteous clean & very knowledgeable. Next month appointment already set! I had the premium pedicure

Fantastic experience: Was a mix up with my appointment so i didnt get a head shave but that might have been my fault. Regardless the staff was extremely polite answered all my questions. And Sade was fantastic and got my beard looking great. All in all a1 experience woukd highly recommend.

Negative experience: Trusted that I’d run into some “experts” that would give advice or share some opinions when I told them what my plan was. I shared that I wanted to grow my hair out but came to get a cut/trim and figure out a hair style to be more presentable while my hair continues to grow all sorts of ways. However, instead of trying to figure something out with the guy he rather offer comments like “you wanna grow it out but want a cut” instead of suggestions. Furthermore, this guy proceeded to mess up my beard (which he wasn’t suppose to be doing in the first place and two he claimed to have followed how it looked in a picture I showed, I ended up showing the picture again to prove the dude wrong and no apology either, so my beard was shaved off because of his mistake) regardless of mistaking the type of beard style, bro also made the line that goes from the bottom lip to the chin off centered and not just slightly, super off centered??? To make it worse bro finished up with zero after shave my face was burning. It was also obvious bro was upset I didn’t hold his hand and guide him through every step of the way of what I wanted done, because I wanted help deciding and suggestions for how to style it since I’ve never grown my hair out. Anyways, I left overpaying for what is probably the worst haircut and facial hair grooming service I have ever experienced. I’ve been to some crappy great clips and on military bases for haircuts, so I’ve made that mistake but as for this place, I thought I finally found somewhere I can consistently go to, sadly I was wrong. Other than their haircut/grooming services I was welcomed and offered complimentary drinks by the polite members of this place. I just couldn't recommended getting any service here.

Fantastic experience: Needed some beard work done for engagement pictures, and Thomas did not disappoint! It’s the best my beard has looked in years, and more importantly, the bride to be loved it too!

Caitlyn is amazing and truly an expert with her craft as a hairstylist and has impeccable memory from just seeing me twice! 5 stars is not enough to rate such an experience! I would give 100 ⭐️ if I could. Update: Caitlyn continues to execute flawless work and her customer service is top notch. Due to those attributes alone , I will be a customer for life at Hammer and Nails. Update 09/2025: Caitlyn is, in my opinion, their best stylist. It is easy to tell Caitlyn enjoys her work and has high standards to produce a quality cut. She never seems rushed and takes her time. She is a great conversationalist too!

Negative experience: Really nice place and they try hard with customer service, but my goodness the barber screwed my hair up so bad. I went to sports clips immediately after just to get someone to buzz my head to fix the mistakes. If you are going there to relax and have a good time I would recommend, but do not go for a superior haircut. It’s the worst I’ve ever had in my life.

Fantastic experience: Leeanna, Makaela and Niki were great to work with. Makaela especially did a fantastic job with my pedicure. This was a first for me so she was SUPER helpful and explained everything she was doing. Makaela also gave me some tips for taking care of my feet. Leeanna and Makaela both explained the services offered and packages available without being pushy. Good job ladies, pushy NEVER works with me. I will be back!

It might take longer than others but there is no question that the finished product will be awesome. I got a facial and she really went above and beyond. Even conditioning the skin under my beard. Without a doubt I couldn’t recommend this place and Brittanie more!

Negative experience: I joined for 1 month (April 2025) and received great service. Always tipped 50% or more for my services! I stopped going due to recent health problems. My card was charged today (July 31, 2025) for premium services ($169) without my consent. Is this a membership or subscription that is difficult to terminate! I haven’t used any services since late April this year! I’m totally displeased with this sales tactic!

Fantastic experience: 1st time at Hammer & Nails, let alone any type of salon. Thought I would try something different, and this place caught my eye because it had a bar. I had to see this and satisfy my curiosity. Stephanie took great care of my hair and trimming the beard. The neck and facial massage nearly put me to sleep. They do offer club packages but never pressured me to join. I will most likely try the manicure and pedicure soon.

Fantastic experience: Just got a cut from Logan at Hammer & Nails in Hyde Park, easily one of the best experiences I’ve had. I asked for a burst fade that blends into my beard (which isn’t easy with my curly hair), and he absolutely nailed it. The fade is clean, the blend is seamless, and he really took his time to get every detail right. Logan knows his clippers, and the shop itself has a great vibe. Highly recommend booking with him if you’re in the area and want a fresh, professional haircut.

I just moved from Columbus to the Cincinnati area after having the same barber (Tiffany) for three years. I was a little nervous to get a new barber at a new location but was thrilled to have Brittnie take care of me today. She was attentive, welcoming and very professional. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at the Hyde Park location and will be returning regularly to see Brittnie moving forward. I highly recommend this location.

My husband had a manicure and pedicure service performed by Niki and it was beyond our expectations. Not only was the service incredible, Niki was exceptional. She was kind, extremely talented and very informative. She educated us on the different types of packages and services that are offered at the establishment. My husband is someone who would prefer a manicure over a pedicure, but after his experience with Niki…he’s 100% sold on maintaining his upkeep with both services! I’ve been getting grooming services since the early 90’s,, to have a place like H&N to go to for my grooming needs (manicures, pedicures facials, Bourbon, cigars, Sports channels) is amazing!! If they would let me, I would move in.

My appointment got off to a rocky start because I inadvertently booked a haircut and a pedicure when I really wanted a pedicure and manicure. Anyway, after that mistake was resolved by the staff I received my desired services. I was very pleased with the results, particularly Ajoni’s attention to detail without prompting, and will likely return and try some of your other grooming services.

Only issues I had so far I tried to pred med and facial in the same day online and it wouldn’t let me do all 3 so I came a got a facial from a young lady Smiley she was nice and professional but while she was given me my facial the music was driving me crazy ha it was like rock music if they could switch the music idk relaxing music like when get a massage or even soft jazz music r&b that would of been great but I will be back.
