Fantastic experience: Been to a few barbers here for different spans of time. Each one has great skill. However, I've been with Adrian for almost two years now and he's great! Willing to listen when I want to adjust my style and have feedback, he's also always down to talk. I've even had him do my facial before a big event! Can be a bit pricer than your average haircut but it's a good cut, good service, and always a good vibe.

Negative experience: No respect for client's time. Had a 2 pm appointment, no one checked in with me for 22 minutes. If you're late you should have basic courtesy to check in. The barber's name was George Perez. Felt unwelcoming. I have been coming here for over 1 year, with Damian, great experience with him. His schedule was busy so had to book with other barber and faced this absolutely worst experience.

Positive experience: Popped in to purchase a gift card. I'm told there's a 2-3 dollar service fee and that either I could cover it or the person being gifted the gc could pay for it when checking out; I've never heard of such a thing and obviously opted to pay the $3 dollars. The gc itself is cool, serves as steel bottle opener, but wasn't given a pamphlet or an envelope with a logo. Sort of seemed like a random written out gift. My partner has enjoyed their service in the past. Would skip on the GC, I thought it'd feel more lux than it did - seemed like an afterthought.

Negative experience: Had the most awkward and not so great experience today my 4th time in here was scheduled to get a haircut at 10am with my usual barber but got a message saying he wasn’t going to be in today cause of an emergency so they rescheduled me for later time and I show up and my usual barber is there not out for emergency, after he’s done with a client doesn’t even proceed to say hi or at least say “my mad had to reschedule you” just ignores me I get thrown to another barber felt so rushed literally like 30 min or less to say the least the new barber at no fault did his best but he never cut my hair hadn’t build that usual client/barber relationship and cut to much lost all the hair length I build up for months, worst experience Ive had was definitely liking the place and vibes but no longer going.

Fantastic experience: Been going to Gents Barber Club for about 2 years. All but two have been with Adrian. Once he cut my hair there was no going back. He is th e best. Been to other barbershops but found that the cuts were not up to the same standards. A bit pricey but I keep going because I look better. Give it a try.

Negative experience: I let my hair grow for over 3 months after a bad haircut. I carefully looked online to book with a professional so I wouldn’t go through the same thing again. Adrián attended me. I spoke to him for about 5 minutes about what I wanted and what had been done to me previously. I’m leaving before and after photos and photos of what I wanted exactly. I explained that I don’t like showing my forehead and that I wanted my hair to have shape, not to look straight, flat, and boring. I explained that previously they had overused thinning shears and that’s why my hair looked like it had no volume I don’t want to look like I’m balding and then once he finished cutting my hair, I saw him using the thinning shears again. I thought it would be very little and that he knew what he was doing, but he became obsessed with the scissors and used them all over my head for about 5 minutes! I was already scared and just waiting for the result because he didn’t let me look in the mirror, saying he wanted to “surprise” me. What an amazing surprise: paying $80 for a crappy haircut. The place being pretty and treating you “classy” isn’t worth it. If he’s not going to listen to me and they’re not going to do their job properly which is cutting hair I don’t understand why it’s so expensive. I told him I had an important appointment, my birthday is in a few weeks, and now it looks like I’m losing my hair. I can’t hide my forehead with this, and it makes me want to k1ll myself right now. Thanks, Adrián! You should stick to doing buzz cuts instead of scissor cuts. You ruined my day today and probably the next 3 months. The worst place I could have gone to, and I trusted someone inexperienced who doesn’t know how to listen or do his job.

Fantastic experience: Hands down THE BEST haircut and beard trim I ever got. I went in 2 weeks before my wedding and Elizabeth knew exactly what to do to ensure that the haircut is in the best shape on the day of the wedding.

Negative experience: RUDE, LATE, and Refused Service. Avoid Stylist Elizabeth Ngo. ​I booked an appointment with Stylist Elizabeth Ngo for 12:25 PM. She arrived 15 minutes late and was completely unprofessional from the moment she walked in. ​She publicly snapped at a colleague for politely mentioning my wait time. Then, due to her own tardiness, she told me she was too "booked back to back" to complete the haircut, forcing me to leave without the service I booked. ​Wasted my time, witnessed unprofessional conduct, and walked out without a haircut. Management needs to address this stylist's misconduct immediately. Zero stars.

Negative experience: Lousy booking system - had been here a few times before- all good - but now twice - books an appointment that isn’t there - and you drive 30 mins to find out there’s no appointment - even though you paid and got a confirmation - what a waste of time

Negative experience: Probably one of the worst haircuts I’ve gotten in a while. The haircut took 20 minutes and it didn’t feel personalized for the price. I told the barber that I wanted my hair length to my eyebrows, and the first thing he does is cut it way past it. Lastly, it was uneven and even the fade on the side was not great. It’s hair, it will grow back but I’m mad that I paid that much for that. I ended tipping him $5 for his time but won’t be coming back. Barbers name is Rocha and would not recommend him.

Negative experience: After looking at the reviews of this place, I set up an appt. I was looking for a new place to get a fresh look. The description was that I was to receive a consultation and get the grey blending and a cut. When the stylist came to me, she was confused by what was to be done. She asked who was the stylist I had an appointment with, which I forgot. She talked to the other stylist in Spanish about what it was I was looking for. She then did the grey blending and stumbled through the consultation. I did look better leaving then when I came in, but felt like I paid a lot of money and didn't get what I wanted. Everyone was clipping and smiles were all around, guess it was an off day for me. Check them out, I think this place is great for the 20-40 age group. I felt awkward and out of place.

Positive experience: Update Apr 2025: Been a regular for the last year or so, but things have gone downhill since Alain left. Barber yesterday was running over 30mins behind with no communication to me - so had to wait. Reception was cold and nobody was working front desk. Was not offered a drink - had to ask. Service felt rushed, overall poor experience. Certainly not worth $140. I'm sad to have to find another barber shop now. ——— This place is beautiful - love the atmosphere, especially the high ceilings. Also, Alain is fantastic!

Negative experience: Been wanting to come here for a great experience since my go-to stylist was out. Checking in, I was not informed how late the barber was until the second person told me. I knew things felt awkward once the barber was ready for me but he didn’t acknowledge how late he was for me. Most of the barbers at the shop had awesome conversations with their other clients except the one I had didn’t even ask me anything about how my Sunday was. I asked for a specific style that I wanted my haircut to be, but I felt it was like cluster, and it wasn’t too much of a high fade. Was really hoping to get a sort of discount for that day since I felt that the haircut wasn’t set to my expectations, but the manager only informed me that he was able to give me a discount for the second appointment which didn’t help because I’m not too sure when exactly I’m coming back. Being a first time, it was really disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Went here on 2025-Mar 15. Great atmosphere and amazing service. Staff was professional, courteous, and friendly. Strongly recommend Alexander, a true gentleman.

Negative experience: Probably the worst haircut and beard trim I’ve ever received. Don’t let the aesthetics of the place fool you. They had the audacity to upcharge me for a straight edge that wasn’t even straight. The barber was kind, but that’s beside the point if the haircut and beard trim were terrible. It was also the most expensive haircut I’ve ever received at $120. I reached out to their customer service and got zero reply.

Negative experience: Bad customer service. Went late by 20 mins to the appointment due to bad traffic and they charged me $35 as a no show fee. The first thing they discussed was about no show fee and how they want to cancel the appointment. No concern for customers they only care about your money and not about accommodating their customers. If they charge fees for late show then at least they should honor the appointment not just steal your money. If they’re running late on an appointment, then I don't think they’re gonna pay late fees to their customers.

And then, provided the BEST str8 razor shave of my beard & mustache. His hands were accurate and truly magical with the shave and facial massage. Left me chill & a much better version of myself. Fantastic experience: Phase 1: realization. So you’ve been putting off getting a haircut because you were able to ‘get by’ with doing the bare minimum for weeks/months. Suddenly you glance up at the mirror and think- this is a hot mess and it’s time. After rummaging through the internet I came upon Gents with solid reviews. In my case, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my hair. I grew it for months thinking it’ll get marvelous at some point—it didn’t. Hence I needed to get some advice, along with the skill to execute. Phase 2: The Janet Effect. Basically I showed her a picture of the direction I wanted to go. She discussed what’s possible with my hair type, and the rest was a done deal. She was able to execute and she def has the skills. Not to mention she’s a kind person with just great vibes. Long story short: go get it done here. I highly recommend Janet. Sure it’s a bit on the higher side price wise BUT, ya can’t put a price on how ridiculously good-looking you’ll feel after. (I mean you can, but you get the point). Get it done and get some bounce in yo step! Have a Happy haircut!

Negative experience: Since their opening, this was my favorite and only place to get haircuts. I didn’t mind the higher prices and a one hour drive each way - the experience was great… Until one day I committed a cardinal sin of being 12 minutes late. I walked in with my 4-year old boy (he was just along for the ride), only to be turned back and made feel like crap for being “too late”. When asked if I’d like to schedule my next appointment - a hard “NO, THANK YOU!”

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at this barbershop. At first I thought it was pretty expensive but by the time I was finished I became a member. The people are fantastic, the service is amazing and I lived being served a glass of whiskey while.my hair was being cut. In the end I had the best haircut I had in years. I am excited to go back next month.

Fantastic experience: Love bringing my two little boys here! The shop is always clean, and it’s so easy to book an appointment online or just drop in. The barbers are super punctual, which means no waiting around—a huge plus for us. Janet is our go-to, and she’s amazing every time. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: While the salon’s reception, cleanliness, and atmosphere were positive, the barber, Alain, did not take the time to understand my preferences. He appeared rushed, leading to a result I’m not happy with. I plan to try again in the future with a different barber and will update my review accordingly.

Fantastic experience: Janet is a great blend of humor and skill—a stylist who can turn my usual ‘I have no idea what I want, but not that’ into a cut that genuinely works for me. She helps organize the confusion in my head for the perfect haircut and does a pretty good job at it! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Flew in to San Jose for a weekend of fancy events and came straight here for a beard trim, since I knew I’d be in photos and wanted the pros to handle my appearance for me. Luckily, this place is fairly close to the airport. Alain welcomed me warmly and put a whiskey in my hand right away, then got to work. Even touched up my hair just to be nice. I couldn’t imagine a better way to start my trip! If only I lived in San Jose, I’d be here all the time. Thanks, Alain!

Fantastic experience: First time going here was an amazing experience! This is the perfect salon for men, I felt pampered the whole time I was there. From the moment I walked in I felt like a valued customer. Before I even sat down I had a glass of whisky in my hands; It was the perfect tone setter. I opted to go for the haircut + facial and eyebrow wax. Now let me say that Janet and Sami did me right. Janet did my haircut and facial and she did an amazing job! I am very picky when it comes to my hair cuts but this might be one of the best haircuts I have ever gotten. Janet lined me up just right. The shampoo and head massage felt so nice. Not to mention how relaxing and refreshing the facial was. I would highly recommend adding that to your experience. It’s not girly to take care of your face! I feel like most men don’t take enough take care of their eyebrows. If that is you, you should book an eyebrow wax appointment with Sami. She was super quick and extremely welcoming. The warm wax felt very nice on my eyebrows and it didn’t hurt at all. I have been looking for a good barber for a long time now and I may have just found them! It is worth the money!
