Fantastic experience: Patrick is great for beard shaping!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing my son to Tads Barber Shop for years, and they have always done a great job. We did unfortunately have a not-so-great experience this past Saturday with one of the newer barbers. I reached out to them, and they responded right away. They were incredibly kind, professional, and quick to make it right. They fixed his haircut and even gave us a gift certificate for two future haircuts! I truly appreciate a business that stands behind their work and takes care of their customers. That level of service means a lot, and we’ll definitely continue coming back.

Positive experience: Gotta give props to my man Tim. He's the best! When he switched over to the leland location I switched along with him. Sadly, Ive had to relocate back to the ville. Ill make it back to WILM sooner than later. After being there 10 years, its hard to wanna live anywhere else.

Negative experience: Barber was super chill and he did a decent job on my beard at least, but man this has to be the worst fade I’ve ever gotten. He didn’t do anything to layer the front at all so it doesn’t just look like I straight line across my forehead, and I don’t even know what you call what he did to my head. A low high and tight? This is not a fade. A fade involves the hair slowly stepping up not a line around my head….i usually don’t do reviews but I read the few bad ones here but chose to roll the dice. Don’t make the same mistake I did now I have to go pay someone else to fix this atrocity.

Fantastic experience: I’m pretty picky with barbers/stylists. I’ve had 4 or so of the folks here cut my hair. I don’t typically leave reviews but today felt right. I’ve enjoyed Connor’s earnestness very much, cuts have been very solid. Kevin just knocked it out of the park on today’s visit. Listened to what my hair goals are and skin sensitivity with foiler/razor. Feeling damn good looking at this fresh cut. He got me good!

Positive experience: My boyfriend went to Tad’s Barbershop for a haircut and showed the barber a photo of the exact style he wanted. Unfortunately, the haircut he received the first time did not match the photo or what he asked for. The barber acknowledged this and told him to come back so they could fix it, which we appreciated. When he returned, the haircut was improved, but it still wasn’t 100% what he originally wanted or what was shown in the photo when he left. The staff was friendly and willing to try to make things right, but the final result didn’t fully meet his expectations, which was disappointing overall.

Negative experience: I highly recommend you stay far away from this establishment if you like the way your hair looks, or if you are looking for a good haircut. The time my buddy gave me a buzz cut on on his back porch looks better than what I left this place with.

Fantastic experience: I will never go anywhere else! Kevin was experienced and quick, pricing was competitive, environment was friendly and comfortable. Highly, highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I wasn't so sure walking as this is probably the busiest barber shop I've ever been to by far. But as many of us guys was in there it actually didn't take very long at all..From what I can tell all the barbers there are quite good at what they do and its a really well run business. Parking can get a little tight but when you got a solid place like this that's going to happen. Can't remember the gentleman who cut my hair but he did a great job. I was very happy with the results. Would recommend to any guys in the area that needs a haircut, and will be back there myself the next time I need one!

Negative experience: Spend a few more bucks and get your haircut where they listen to what you and cut correctly. I prefer to leave great reviews, but that isn’t always possible. I went here 3 times as it’s very conveniently located for me. Cut by 3 different barbers. One was great, the first one, and the reason I went again. The second one did a mediocre job but left a serious rash on my neck from the razor. The next one didn’t even listen. I asked him to keep the front long, start at a one and go pretty high and tight. A haircut I have gotten hundreds of times. He proceeded to cut the front off and his trimmers are definitely bot calibrated to a one. Much longer. He missed spots with his trimmer, and my hair just looks like I cut it myself. I am not going to even bother asking them to fix it, they don’t listen to the customer. Go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Love this barbershop. Everyone is very friendly and skilled at the craft. Johnny ( my personal favorite ) does an excellent job every time! Highly recommend this shop!!

Negative experience: I usually don’t leave poor reviews as I am also a service provider and love extending grace but my husband just got his haircut here today and came home with his neck bleeding and welting. He was charged extra for a beard lineup but it was not straight at all and he stated that the girl working on him just barely went over it. There are a few patches in his hair from the haircut as well. We are very disappointed with the service and don’t intend to return in the future. We were hopeful with all the positive reviews but it was a horrible experience! The pictures were taken AFTER some of the swelling and redness went down.

Positive experience: I was looking for a traditional barber shop, no appointments... Just a traditional barber shop. This is the best one in Wilmington I've found so far. Still doesn't check all the boxes but it's close.

Fantastic experience: We love Tads. We live in Leland and was seeing a barber there but he recently left the shop. My son was extra nervous because he hates getting his haircut. He has a modern mullet and is nervous about anyone cutting it. We tried the Wilmington shop and was told there were great barbers there who knew how to do the modern mullet cut. We got placed with G! He was wonderful!

Fantastic experience: Took my son here today. He literally walked in the door, and he went straight to a chair. I didn't get the girl's name, but she was great with him. Did a fantastic job on his high and tight fade. The atmosphere was nice, all of the staff seemed friendly. We were in and out in no time. I will be bringing him back. Would highly recommend. Fantastic experience: Got my haircut at the new Tad's on N. College Rd. Chris was AWESOME!!! Didn't have to wait at all and every single barber in there was super friendly!!! Fantastic experience: Did not catch his name I was in a rush but he is the 2nd barber to the left when you walk in. He did an amazing fade and shaved the back of my neck would highly recommend this barber.

Fantastic experience: Took my 6 year old son into the newly opened Tad’s in Murrayville. We didn’t have to wait long. Greg cleaned him up nicely. My son has blond hair which can look choppy if not blended well. Wasn’t a problem at all for Greg! Also chatted it up with Wilkes who was extremely welcoming and down to earth. Highly recommend Tad’s if you’re in the Wilmington area!

Fantastic experience: First time ever getting my Beard trimmed and tailored professionally. I had a great experience and like the idea they suggested from the visit. I also was able to get my haircut and neck taken care of which was a phenomenal place if you're looking for a something different as a adult. Fantastic experience: You know that you got a good haircut when your CEO singles it out in a company wide meeting. Cash only so come ready, and feel free to let the barbers know if you have a preference on who cuts your hair. Otherwise, they handle it by first come / first serve and I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes if I'm just looking to get a quick cut. I've had the pleasure of having a few different barbers take care of me when I've come in, and can say all of them have been top notch (though thankful to Johnny for my most recent cut and the cause of my CEO's praise)!

Fantastic experience: Love Tad's. I take my two grandsons there for all their haircuts. I like it first of all because it has a masculine ambiance. All the barbers are professional and friendly. They have enough barbers working, so there is rarely much of a wait. Mostly, I like the way they take their time and never fail to give them five-star haircuts. They never disappoint.

Fantastic experience: We were referred to tads by a friend. My son is 5 and has never had a hair cut. After some bribing and some encouraging words from Patrick my son was ready. He sat super still and got his locks cut. Patrick was amazing. He was kind and patient with my son. Everyone at the shop was so busy the whole time we were there and everyone was leaving feeling awesome about their cuts. I will definitely be back

Real old school barbour shop with a new school vibe. They charge the going rate for a real (non chain) barbour shop. $25 plus tip. My barbour was super friendly and did an awesome job on my hair. Fantastic experience: Kiersten and Tad did wonderfully and we're super understanding and kind toward my autistic 5 year old Even with him struggling and fussing neither of them showed anything but kindness toward him and never raised voices or got an attitude with him which I'm not used to so I'm beyond thankful they took the time to work with him We will be back again

Fantastic experience: I had my first Tad’s experience this morning with Patrick and could not have been more impressed with the overall experience. Patrick was a real cool dude and gave me one of the best cuts I’ve had in a longtime. Sometimes going in a place like that, it’s easy to feel like an outsider but not at Tad’s. The staff was very welcoming to every single person who entered the door and nobody was getting cool guy’d by anyone. This is a down to earth crowd with great work ethics. One guy who wasn’t even cutting my hair said “welcome home” when I told him it was my first time at Tad’s. The team environment was noticeable as those who didn’t have a customer, pitched in by sweeping other colleagues customers hairs or stayed busy to keep the place clean. The price was reasonable as well and you definitely get your moneys worth. I never really do Google reviews much but this crowd deserved me taking the time to say thank you and five stars. I highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Tads enough! They are absolutely amazing. I take my son there everytime and everytime is nothing short of amazing. The staff is very personable and always makes my son comfortable which is great because he never wants to get his hair cut. My sons hair always looks AMAZING as well. This time we had Johnny and he was great! 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.

I have gone to Tads for over a year and it is such a toxic relationship I can ask for a low fade and they do whatever they want I am so disappointed in all my beard trims and fades it’s embarrassing to walk out in public…

Every single barber in there does great work and has great attention to detail. They’re cash only but they have an atm so no big deal. Parking can be tricky sometimes. It’s a tight lot.

Negative experience: Will probably never come here again. I will say Gregg is amazing. But everyone else has been “ehh” with how the haircuts look. Until yesterday and that was my breaking point. I said medium fade, please just equally blend it in and leave the top im growing it out. The young blonde guy ended up thinning the top to where I look like in balding now. I said something but ended up just letting it go. I tried to even gel it like I normally do and it’s thin and whispy. I never leave reviews but this was so bad I had to. Just be cautious when you come here, some of them really dont know what they are doing and they will jack your hair up. This is the 3rd time and definitely the worst it’s come out with different barbers. Tried to give it an honest shot. Again Gregg is amazing but everyone else, avoid

Fantastic experience: Edit: it was a tag team effort to get these 2 hairs behind my child's ear . I will forever prase this place. Everyone there is absolutely amazing. I took my soon to be 2 year old here. Was super jealous because I can't get him to sit that still . They were beyond amazing. Will definitely be going back.

Negative experience: I usually go to the Tads in Leland and can't recommend them highly enough. They always do a great job and provide a comfortable environment. I was in Wilmington and decided to stop by the location there for a quick fix up since it's more convenient than Leland right now, I've decided after that I will be strictly going to the location in Leland from now on. I'm not speaking for every barber there, I had a really bad experience with Melissa in particular. She started off extremely distracted and made multiple unprofessional comments that came across as rude during the cut. On top of the comments she was trying to go as fast as possible and literally told a client "hold on one second I'll finish up with his" and sped up even more. due to the rush she was using so much unnecessary force (to the point that the comb was literally painful on my scalp) and ended up cutting me in multiple spots on the back of my neck with the straight razor because of how fast she was trying to go. The haircut was decent after a couple adjustments but the overall experience made me not want to go there anymore. Like I said, this is just the experience with one barber and there are plenty of others that do a excellent job.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of having Melissa cut my hair here today, and she was amazing and very accommodating. She asked what I was looking to have done, anything special I wanted, and made sure to take their time and ask me if it was enough or if I wanted more off. She gave me an amazing skin fade, with the best beard lineup I've had in years. Not a single scratch, nick, or pulled hair. She's amazing and I will continue to go back and see her for every haircut, and special event where I need to look better and feel better about myself.

Fantastic experience: They Open well before any other Barber in Wilmington and the haircut is better than barber shops all the way up around camp Lejuene. A genuine barber shop with a super clean and well designed store front. The atmosphere is excellent l, even if you are in a hurry. I walked in and didn’t even sit down before a chair opened up for me. Holly did my cut and she was amazing. I never write google reviews so that is a testament to the stature of this business. 5 stars well deserved

Negative experience: First time and last time tads Baber shop they mess up my hair and my son very disappointing and overcharged I payed 80$ How? did not even get a proper shave my son is Hair Cut still have hair hanging over his ear in the shape the back and one of my sideburns was pushback more than the other side so mad

Fantastic experience: I was in a pinch and needed a hair cut ASAP this morning. Went to Tad's based on reviews and the fact that they accepted walk-ins. Great decision! I went from the front door straight to an open chair, and was walking out in under 20 minutes. I'm not good at describing how I want it cut, but the barber took what little I had to say and gave me a great hair cut. I will be going back in the future!

Fantastic experience: Decided to get a haircut on Friday at noon which usually means I long wait. Walked into Tads and every chair was occupied. Sat down for 10 minutes at the most, even with 4 people ahead of me. I was in and out in under 30 minutes and the guys/gals are very cordial. Great cut!

Fantastic experience: Took my 1yr old son in for his 1st hair cut. Stylist was patient, attentive, and clearly had experience in cutting small children's hair. Shop was clean, we were seen immediately on a busy Friday afternoon as well. Parking lot is a bit difficult to get in and out of but we'll be returning again for his cuts

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking my 1.5 year old to tads for about 8 months now. We have seen a few of the different barbers in Tads and we are always so thrilled with how he looks and how we are treated. One year olds aren’t the easiest to cut and the barbers are always more than patient with us. Everyone is so kind and the service is superb. My husband also gets his cuts at Tads and he is never disappointed! 10/10 recommend Tads! Best cuts in town!

Fantastic experience: Best place in town for men's cuts. Only place my husband and son will go. Great atmosphere and friendly staff! Update: to this day still are hands down only place we will go. Through covid there's been a few times we've had to try other places and we always regretted it. Such an amazing team here, always always a joy to stop by!

Positive experience: Good haircuts but it's so loud you can hardly understand what's being said and I don't like the decor. They are cash only which is inconvenient, ATM on premises but I'd rather not pay fees. Which I'm sure it's why they don't take cards.

Negative experience: Ingenious: 1) Refusing to accept credit cards and then installing an ATM which charges a $3.75 usage fee 2) Charging $30 for a bad-to-mediocre haircut. Also ingenious: the capitalist system which allows me to get my next haircut elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I love leaving great reviews for businesses, and Tads barbershop is an amazing company! I’ve gotten my hair cut at this barbershop years ago and never had any problems. But today at chair two, on the left… I didn’t get her name, but I know I will never NEVER ever sit at her chair EVER again. I’m simple when it comes to my cuts, simply a bald fade… level 1, bald on the sides, and faded… usually a barber would cut in the direction the hair flows, this girl was playing bumper cars with my hair and after seeing all the wandering eyes from other barbers I knew I was in the wrong seat. I have to admit I am not pleased with my cut, I have longer hairs in the front and back, and shorter hair scattered, and where was the fade? Lol like where!!! As soon as I left I laughed at myself because I knew my cut was horrible. Anyway, I would recommend sending chair two girl back to barber school. We all live and learn and I do believe she has potential but not right at this moment. Overall, the other barbers work is amazing! I was surprised to see the other females cuts from afar ! They Are Amazing! Including the rest (except chair two). This experience will not stop me from coming again. Hair grows back just wanted to give my personal experience today.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Barber shop. Tad Jr. Is the only one my son will allow to do his hair. It's taken a bit of time, but Tad Jr. has been able to get my son to interact with him more. That takes a special and patient guy to do that. Plus, we love his hair cuts. It's an upbeat, friendly, clean and professional establishment. Best place in town. Now go give them your business. You won't regret it
