Negative experience: Went to get an edge up at phus cuts to get a cut with Phu he then sends me to another man to edge up my hair then when everything is done he says haircuts are 30 dollars. Got it edged up. He then just overcharges me 30 for a 15 dollar edge up. Just bad business. He didn't let us know before hand about the prices of the cuts. This shop isn't truthful. Won't be coming back here.

Fantastic experience: I went to three different barbers when I moved to Wilmington before I found Henry. I don’t have the easiest hair to cut, curly and nappy with a not even hairline. Henry is patient and did a good job giving what I ask for. Best high taper I’ve ever had. Also very fairly priced.

Negative experience: The guy who cut my hair definitely seemed to be knowledgeable about his trade but didn't really listen to what I requested (~2-3 inches off). Not completely disappointed with the result but not blown away either. The reason for the rating is CASH ONLY yet they have an electronic booking system for appointments (which they don't appear to really keep track of if they get busy with walk-ins). The electronic booking system is through square I believe and it tells you the price due, but nowhere does it say that they only take cash (I went through the process again to verify). They have an ATM available for a fee but it didn't dispense anything less than $20s.

Negative experience: Guys were nice but the cut was mid. I thought this place would be good because I'm used to Viet barbers in Cali. Not at all, they didn't even blend my fade, wish I had a photo but I didn't take one. Cut overall was mid, couldn't really just walk in and on the pricier side. Still looking for a good barber on the area I guess !

Negative experience: Poor service. Rushes on your hair. Only looks for $$$ would not suggest this spot. All he’s worried about is his money and how many heads he can get in a matter of time. Check out coastal barber it’s next to the tattoo shop around the block on college rd. Only if you’re looking for a clean cut.

Fantastic experience: I did a walk in I was immediately helped told them I wanted a medium skin fade number 4 on top and that’s exactly what I got. Very detail oriented man probably the best haircut I have had in a long time. If I lived there I would go there every other week. Reasonably priced to. I think it was 25 if I’m ever in the area again I will be back. There aren’t to many barbers who can do a skin fade because it gets harder to fade the shorter it gets but they did it right.

Positive experience: Phu's a great barber, he always delivers quality cuts and is a super nice guy. I highly recommend giving him a chance to impress you if you're looking for a new barber, you won't regret it. Edit: I wanted to update my review because of some recent developments during my last four appointments. For three of the four appointments I scheduled online (all of which were before 10am), I had to wait anywhere between 15-30 minutes because Phu was taking walk-ins ahead of appointments and fell behind. Normally I would have no issues waiting, I'm a patient person, but there is another reason I'm lowering my review. Appointments online for Phu are for 15 minutes. If I schedule an appointment for 15 minutes, me and my hair should get at least 15 minutes worth of care and attention whether Phu is behind or not. However, every single time I've had to wait for Phu, he is rushing to catch up (typically with other people that had appointments waiting on him) and Phu spends around 7 minutes cutting my hair. The quality of my cut is noticeably different when Phu is not rushing and spends the scheduled amount of time. This is not acceptable in my opinion. I'm paying the same whether Phu spends 7 minutes or 15 minutes, however I'm not getting the same end product. I've read other reviews mentioning the same issue when Phu is rushed, the quality is not the same. TlDr: Phu is a 5 star barber if he isn't rushing to finish your cut as fast as possible. If he is, then it's a 3 star experience in my opinion, definitely not anything special that you couldn't find elsewhere.

I moved to Wilmington back in December 2023 and have tried 3 other "well-known" and highly recommended barbershops in the area and was EXTREMELY disappointed. One shop screwed up my fade so bad that I had to wear a hat for weeks until my hair grew back. I dont typically write reviews but this one is very warranted. I go to Henry but have also had Phu cut my hair and man, they both know how to cut hair! I highly highly highly recommend this shop. Fantastic experience: I’ve been using Phu for about 4 years now and I’ve never been unhappy. I get a haircut every 4-6 weeks and after my second visit I never had to say anything else about how I wanted it cut. I just sit down and he goes to work with the way I like it. I’ve also seen him do that with his other customers. He knows what we want and he truly cares about his clients. I typically get a high skin fade with a lite trim on the top and a hard part. Every other month he also trims my eyebrows because no one wants to look like they have two caterpillars on their face. Phu is a great barber and a great person. Go check him out.

Negative experience: Cool guy but I got my hair absolutely ruined, hate to leave a bad review seeing that they have 5 stars but that’s what led me to come here. (Edit) Came back to this post to lower my rating to a 1 star. The owner replied back and said they never cut my hair which they definitely did. The older man in the middle chair cut my hair two days ago August 26. It looks bad on your business when you try to deflect the negative ratings by lying and saying that the person leaving a review has never been there. Didn’t think I would get the reply that I did, do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Phu is an artist. I relocated to the Danville, VA area a few years ago and am still looking for a good barber there. Fortunately we have a family vacation house in the Wilmington area that I am able to visit fairly often. So glad I found Phu, he gives a great haircut, but his beard trimming and shaping abilities are exceptional. I have found beard trimming to be a real weak spot for many other barbers, but Phu has a real talent for this.

I came across PHU’S barber shop so we booked our appointments. The booking process was simple and quick. We arrived early and they were able to seat us quickly. I had my beard and hair trimmed and my son had only his hair trimmed. They did such a great job on the cut and used a straight razor to finish the edge up. They exceeded our expectations and we will definitely go back. To top it off, Phu and Henry were extremely nice and engaging throughout the experience. I would rate them an 11 out of 10!
