All of the barbers on staff are beyond talented and will be able to have you looking better than you’ve ever looked before! I can’t say enough great things about this place— you truly just have to go and experience the Southern Gentlemen way for yourself. I promise you won’t be disappointed. *Southern Gentlemen’s Barbering has more locations than just the original 5 Points location. There are also shops in Lexington and Chapin.*

Fantastic experience: I don't usually leave reviews but Jake M was very very good. I was hesitant because I saw a bad review, but he was impressive. Every barber tells me my hair is weird and hard to cut, but Jake made it seem like no big deal and cut it easily from start to finish. Honestly one of the best haircuts I've ever had.

Fantastic experience: Micheal cut my hair for the second time and did EXACTLY what I asked for and again got the haircut I wanted. I feel some barbers take a bit of creative license and don't always deliver on your request. Additionally Micheal is a pleasant person but also doesn't burden you with forced conversations and I for one appreciate that a lot. So I definitely recommend this location and Micheal's service.

Fantastic experience: Please go get a haircut from Regina, it’s like magic. Trust the process, I’ve never had a haircut look this good a day after being cut. And she doesn’t do bowl cuts!

Negative experience: Don't do reviews often but this experience was bad enough to warrant one. To preface I work night shift and didn't notice how badly my hair was butchered until i got home and took a shower. I don't remember the stylist name but he was the young black guy with the nose ring, he made the worst faces when I sat down, at first I thought I was mistaken but my wife confirmed it. It was as if I was the biggest inconvenience of his day..at the end he didn't even blow off the excess hair off of me.. what gets me is that I was there on a whim. I thought that this being a "barber shop" it would do a great job, but I've had WAY better experience and service at sport clips for HALF THE PRICE... maybe it was just the "barber", but a place that charges this much should do a better job of vetting their people. Just go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Jackie did an amazing job on my son’s hair. We told her what he was wanting, and she delivered! It took him from looking like a boy to a young man! Everyone was super friendly, professional and the shop was clean. Appt time was on point!

It took me two years in Columbia, but I couldn’t be happier since finding Bri. I have gotten several haircuts with her now and she does a fantastic job every time. Negative experience: On February 25th, I went in to get a subtle curtain bang haircut. I had the long face-framing bangs before, but I wanted to try something new. My boyfriend comes to this place and said it is great, so I decided to go there. I booked my appointment online and it was roughly $56. I chose Emily to cut my hair because she was available that day. I showed her multiple pictures of what I wanted and said "subtle bangs" numerous times. I told her that I wanted to be able to hide them if I wanted to. All of the photos I showed reflected this. She was constantly distracted and talking to another person most of the time. She used a straight-razor on my hair and gave me dora the explorer bangs, which I haven't had since second grade. I told her I hated it and it was not what I wanted at all. She tried to style it to make me like it, but I did not. I called the shop later that day and requested to get a refund. They scheduled me the following day to get it fixed with Jodi. She did the best job that she could to help it not look so trash. Not only did Emily NOT give me what I asked for, but she did the cut so terrible. It was uneven and she cut it wrong. Jodi helped make it look less bad and issued me a refund and I am grateful for that, but I still strongly dislike what I got. Even over a month later, I am still extremely disappointed in the haircut I received and it has 100% shattered my confidence entirely. Emily's mistake will affect me for a long time. If you are someone who has never had their haircut here, but is considering it, do not choose Emily. I strongly regret walking into this establishment on February 25th and if I could take it back, I would.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Southern gentlemen‘s barbershop here in five points for the past four or five years and I have always had a great experience no matter what barber cuts my hair. It’s always been done right they make sure that you are taken care of. Ms. Jackie has cut my hair a lot, as she did today. She did an amazing job as always.

Negative experience: I booked a straight razor haircut, expecting that clean, skin-fade finish that comes with it. The haircut itself wasn’t bad—the barber was a super nice woman and made the actual appointment feel comfortable. But unfortunately, what I received was more of a classic cut. Things got uncomfortable after the cut when I mentioned to the guy at the register that I didn’t receive a straight razor finish. He said, “Let me just go confirm with the barber so I don’t upcharge you,” which immediately made things awkward. I mean, you can literally look at my haircut and see it’s not a skin fade. I didn’t even get my neck cleaned up. What made it worse is that after he talked to her, the energy completely shifted. I went to leave a tip—because again, the actual haircut wasn’t the problem—and got a super short “thank you.” That kind, friendly attitude from earlier was gone, and I left feeling uncomfortable. I don’t like writing negative reviews, but I think it’s important to share. I hope this was just a one-off, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: Such an amazing Barbershop! Crystal cuts my hair and Jack cuts my son's. We have never been disappointed leaving there. I totally recommend anyone to check them out.

I have always been very picky about who cuts my hair, but after the monthly trips to Charlotte, NC got old, I had to find someone closer. Southern Gentleman’s was recommended to me by a friend and I called to make an appointment, I booked with Jacqueline and two years later, I still go to her every time. Jacqueline is so kind, she listens to what you want, gives input on what would look good with my hair type, always has a good sense of humor. I have had many different hairstyles over the last two years, but I mainly stick with a skin fade, which Jacqueline is a master at. I have never gotten up from Jacqueline’s chair unhappy with my hair. Fantastic experience: I love this place. My oldest son turned me onto SGB about 8yrs ago for his backlog party haircut. I've been coming back every since. Jody is the only person I trust to handle my cut and beard trims. Now my two other sons use Jody as well. My youbgest son, Charlie calls SGB his "haircut store", he's 7yrs old. Its our monthly daddy/son outting for haircuts and lunch. I often time just fall asleep while Jody is doing her thing, its so relaxing... If you haven't used SGB, Harden st. You have to give Jody a try. You've got nothing to loose. Anyway, I can't say enough good things about SGB. Harden St. You're only cheating yourself if you don't stop by. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Erin for years. She’s fantastic and versatile, as I’ve seen from her other clients. In the last 6+ years only four other people have touched my hair and they are my wife and kids. I’ve followed her to multiple establishments, but this one is by far my favorite. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, the prices are fair, and the service is great. I love that I can get a drink without the over the top stuff like massages that I don’t want, and nobody’s pushing you to buy their products. Highly recommend Erin and Souther agents - just don’t my noon Wednesday time slot.
