Fantastic experience: I recently moved to Oceanside and was looking for a barbershop. Found this gem. Love the atmosphere of this place, they have a lounge area on the patio and cool interior decor, creates an awesome vibe. Booking online is extremely easy. Evan has been cutting my hair and he does a fantastic job. He really listens and try’s to deliver on what I’m looking for. Highly recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a barber. I will be coming back regularly.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time at Gentlemen’s Den. My barber, Evan, immediately understood what I was trying to achieve and got me the cut I was looking for. He was also helpful in explaining ideal styling for my cut, how to achieve it, and what to expect as far as future growth from the current length. I’m so glad to have found a barber close to home who knows how to decipher customer requests and turn them into high quality haircuts. I highly recommend making an appointment, as I arrived right after open and they didn’t have availability for another few hours after that.

Negative experience: Buyer beware, appointment times mean nothing. Sure maybe a cut before yours takes a little longer, but what about when you have the opening appointment (w/ Lucas) when the store opens, because people have time constraints to live by. Welp, there's already someone in your chair. It's a lack of respect for working people's time. It's unprofessional to not even address the situation and have me standing there wondering if my barber is even there. Was really looking forward to the cut because of the great reviews, such a disappointment for a place that claims to be associated with Gentlemanlyness.

However now that I visited the Gentlemens Den I am relieved to know that I have someone in Evan that I can trust to give me a quality hair cut at a reasonable price plus the buisness hours are very convenient. Quality,convenience and price, what else can you ask for?

The whole experience was chill and comfortable and welcoming, and my fade turned out tight! Definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been making the trip to The Gentlemen’s Den in Oceanside multiple times a year for a while now, and it’s become my go-to when I’m in the area. I only grow out my beard during the fall and winter months back home in Virginia, so whenever I’m out here during beard season, this is the shop I hit up for a proper trim and cleanup. I originally started coming because of their strong recommendations for beard work, and they never disappoint—the vibe is classic, relaxed, and the team knows what they’re doing. I used to book with Deva, who was excellent, but since he retired, I switched to Evan on my last visit. After a Virginia barber butchered my beard (uneven lines, patchy mess), I saw Evan. I suggested my preferred lines and style, then trusted him to clean it up his way—he nailed it with precise reshaping and detail. Now it’s sharp and natural again! The shop’s consistency is impressive, and now that I’ve found Evan, I’ll be booking with him exclusively on future trips. If you’re in Oceanside and need beard work (or a solid haircut), this place is worth it.

Karen gave me the best haircut I've had in a long time. The energy in this place is lively and fun. 100% this will be the only barbershop I go to as long as I live in this area.

Fantastic experience: Love this place! I took my 15 year old son here this past weekend to get a cut for his HOCO dance. He has really long hair and we cut quite a bit off. I’m not sure how often these barbers are cutting long hair but Silas did a great job. He was meticulous and took his time, which was much appreciated. We will be back when my son wants to go short, short!

My 2 boys (5/7yo) and I needed major haircuts (our hair was down to the middle of our backs) and he handled business like a boss - complete transformation when we walked out of the shop. The vibe was awesome. Good tunes and drinks while we waited. Great value. Looking at the taxidermy decor kept the kids plenty busy. We will definitely be coming back when we need another cut. Fantastic experience: I’ve been cutting my own hair for the past 2 1/2 decades and mostly bc I’m just not that comfortable having just anyone cut my hair at all bc I’ve been to so many half-assed barber shops in my past that have next to no experience in cutting more than one or two styles. I’m not great at explaining how I want my hair cut, but Daniel really helped me figure it out. He gave me multiple options to transition into a new style and nailed it.
