Negative experience: The two barbers are very friendly, polite, and welcoming. They treat customers with respect, and you can tell they are trying to do their best. Unfortunately, the haircut itself was disappointing. They don't seem able to cut your hair the way you ask. From what I've noticed, almost everyone leaves with a very similar haircut, regardless of what they requested. I think they need more experience and should pay closer attention to each customer's preferences. I hope they improve because their attitude and customer service are genuinely good.

Negative experience: Asked for a low skin fade and the barber just cut one section of my hair and the rest in the back was never done

Negative experience: 5 min haircut. Lad clearly in a rush to go off somewhere, fecked off arguing with his work colleague about leaving early. When I went home I've seen how bad the haircut was. Sloppy and unfinished.

Negative experience: Normally go here for my little boys haircut. First time I was charged 15euro second time 16euro and then today I was charged 20euro?

Negative experience: Worst barbershop ever i hate the people and the haircuts!! Its also so expensive i couldn’t even get my food later on because of these prices. DONT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!! Go to Square barbers

Negative experience: first and last time I was there.. avoid if you can a man sucks me off, my phone rings and instead of saying nicely to call me if you need anything, he looks at me arrogantly, I answer the phone and he looks at me in an irritating way and blows his mouth as if I don't know what I did... not even the haircut was what I asked for... after all that, I pay with cash, the man takes the money, gives me back the change, no thank you, no please, no goodbye... rude trash,avoid if you can

Negative experience: The most ignorant people you could meet. Walked into the shop at 6.25pm on my way home from work. Door wide open and hours on the door saying they were open till 19.00. Got rudely told we’re closed. When I replied oh really I got told yes we close at 6. As I was walking out I pointed to the hours on the door and asked are you not open till 7? To which the guy turned his back and wouldn’t answer me. A blond woman then appeared from behind the counter as I walked out and closed the door behind me without saying a word. Going by the owner’s replies here it doesn’t look like he cares so I’m sure he’ll send a smart answer back. One less pesky customer to deal with anyway

Negative experience: Never again will i go there there was 2 people in the place and my hair was cut in 2 mins not happy at all , i got as much care and attention of a sheep getting sheered .a little bit of care and attention gos a long way

Negative experience: Who cuts the hair here? Has to be Stevie wonder… Husband came home looking like he was attacked by someone wielding a razor. Lumps out everywhere. Charging good money to be butchered? Shocking stuff.

I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted as I have recently started to grow my hair out and wanted to keep the length but shape it so it looks a bit nicer. Sam’s knowledge and experience was clear when we were chatting about what he was gonna do so I let him have full control and the result was my best haircut yet. I will definitely be back. If you are looking for a high quality haircut and professional staff I would definitely recommend The Academy.

Negative experience: I was charged 15 euro only months ago for myself, which I though was pretty expensive considering most barbers in Kilcock are 11 euro and 12... However when I brought my lad to get his hair cut, I didn't mind the nice lad who was only 20, that took 30 minutes plus to cut my sons hair with a not to bad job. The 19 euro asking price has solidified my decision never to return. I know prices are going up everywhere, but 19 euro... Not on at all.... To your response that you have always changed 19 euro for children. I did get charged around the 15 euro mark only months ago for myself, which is still an increase. I'd never go back if I had of been charged 22 euro, which is a horrendous asking price and 19 for a child, by a visible apprentice, though nice lad, is a joke. No wonder most of your reviews except your friends, agree that you are very expensive. Either way, all opinions aside, your losing business fast with growing prices like that, and with three other much cheaper barbers in Kilcock, I'll put money in Paddy Powers that you won't last another year.

I have had my haircut all over Europe due to my work and many places in Ireland for years and without any doubt Lauren is the best barber ever to cut and style my hair. She is excellent at her job and gives me the cut I've always been looking for, and is consistent. She is the best barber in Europe bar none. The appointment system is superb and easy and takes away all that never ending waiting. I highly recommend this place for a smart environment and the perfect hair cut everytime. This is the only place I will visit now.

Negative experience: It is not everyday you can review some business without even using it. But this definitely deserves one. Let's establish some facts first: Google says Academy Barber closes at 18:30h. Also, it is well known it takes walk ins. That said, I arrived with my two kids at precisely 17:30h and I was already counting on maybe not having the 3 haircuts done due to the time, but it was worth the shot... maybe at least the kids could have get it done. I don't know the name of the lad (honestly he did not even care I was a brand new customer...) but as soon as I entered with my kids he just said "sorry we're closing" as I replied "oh sorry, I thought it was 18:30h". He said "you should book online, come back tomorrow". As I replied "you don't take walk ins?" He said "I am not taking walk ins today, I am doing this one and closing". A little boy was having his hair cut and there was no one else waiting. Our family just moved from Dublin to where we've been a customer from The Grafton Barbers for ages... this is unacceptable treatment of a customer from my perspective. One hour still to close (according to Google, if Google is wrong about your business get it fixed), you do take walk ins so don't act like you don't... etc. Plus... if not all that, there are many POLITE and FRIENDLY ways to say all you said, specially when the customer is right. I guess I am gonna have to go to Maynooth and Grafton Barber again. EDIT: I just read the owner reply. It is impressive the time taken to justify instead of putting himself in the customer shoes. In short words: the barber had a valid reason for not having taken me and my kids, but instead of just saying “ah sorry man, I am doing this one now and have one more at 6pm, but hey why don’t you try to book online or come back tomorrow?” he decided to just say “I am doing this one and then I am closing”. But as per the owner he should not have to explain himself to me…. At last, I am not even a customer !! But to be honest, the fact I got a response so fast shows me somehow the owner cares. And that should count. I will give it another try because I wanna be able to support local and clear any misunderstandings this may have been.

Fantastic experience: Great service. Albert was very good and knew his stuff. Pricey but definitely worth it. Will be returning again. Be aware, must book online. No walk ins.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant establishment, I got my hair butchered at New Lane Barbers and then Academy Barber sorted me right out. Great cut and great staff, will never be going back to that other place down the road. 5/5 would recommend to anyone.
