Ottoman Turkish Barbers

Positive experience: I am extremely disappointed with my experience here. I came in with long hair and showed the barber a video reference of the hairstyle I wanted. Instead of discussing whether that style was achievable with my hair type, length, or texture, he proceeded and gave me a completely different haircut. The result was much shorter than what I asked for and bears little resemblance to the reference I showed. If a barber doesn't have the skills to recreate a particular style, that's understandable—but they should be honest and communicate that before cutting someone's hair, not after it's too late. Hair takes months to grow back, and I've effectively lost around 4 months of growth because of this haircut. What frustrates me most is not that the exact style couldn't be achieved, but that no realistic expectations were set and no alternatives were discussed. I went in expecting professional advice and left with a haircut I never asked for. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a specific style or a barber who listens carefully to their requests. Negative experience: I took my child to get a haircut on Friday. My request was a size 1 on the bottom and a size 3 on top. I even showed them a picture. The man just used clippers to make it look like a size 1, and finished in less than 5 minutes. It looked terrible, completely unprofessional, and his technique and service were awful. I could have shaved my hair better at home myself. He seemed to ignore my requests, was arrogant, and even tried to shirk responsibility. My child said it looked like a prisoner's hairstyle. I'm furious and will never go there again.

Negative experience: Stay away from the one at Tullow road - came out butchered. I walked in and your man was sleeping in the chair. Asked for a low skin fade with a small bit off the top, came out with my crown of my hair cut off, the hair on the side is not even the same length as the top, not even blended properly. Wouldn’t go back to the place. Literally had to go to somewhere else to get my hair blended properly. I don’t think he even cared or if he actually knew how to cut hair altogether, bad service

Negative experience: I go to this place regularly.. it’s good , it’s just that sometimes the new workers don’t listen to what you want and NOT WANT . I said I DONT WANT SHORT HAIRCUT. Proceeds to do a short haircut .. he himself even said ok no short , now I look like wet concrete..PLEASE LISTEN TO CUSTOMERS

Negative experience: Yesturday I got one of the worst haircuts of my life. The barber cutting my hair was new training and I didn’t know. He asked me what I wanted and I just said a skin fade and leave the top alone as i had only gotten highlights. He said it was too long the way it was (it was grand) then I said it’s okay the way it is. He then went ahead anyways and cut it making the highlights go. He also forgot to cut all the hair behind my ears. You can see unfaded lines all around my head and completely ruined my hair. I was still charged for this disaster of a haircut that the barber knew was bad. i would highly NOT recommend going to this barbers

Negative experience: I got a haircut I did not ask for and it was arguably the worst haircut of my life . I even showed a picture of the previous time I got a haircut and wanted the exact same thing only to get a completely different and atrocious haircut which was appalling looking . I had to go to another barber straight away to get it fixed it was that bad . Overall I was completely disappointed in the haircut I received and wouldn’t recommend anyone going to this barber for a haircut.

Positive experience: The quality of this place has noticeably been declining in recent years. If you are lucky you'll get an exceptionally good barber, but a lot are unfortunately subpar. I won't complain about the steep prices because everywhere is suffering from inflation at the moment and demand for haircuts remains high.

Fantastic experience: So yesterday I went for a haircut in Carlow after 8 years living in Manchester. Normally I get my haircut over there and wasn't sure where to go in Carlow for a good haircut so a friend of mine recommended I try Ottoman Turkish Barbers. The guy who cut my hair I didn't catch the name but he's from Waterford originally. He did a great job, listened as well to what I was looking for and made a huge effort. Just an all round top guy. It's not easy to find a good hairdressers so will definitely be calling in again the next time I'm back in Carlow. Don't normally leave reviews, but I think when someone goes above and beyond it deserves to be recognised.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for 3 years now and I can safely say I won't go anywhere else. The lads always cuts my hair the way I like it and even remembered what I wanted after 5 long months of lockdown. All the lads here are excellent and I don't know myself when I leave. In other words, I'm very happy.

Negative experience: I wanted to keep growing my hair out on top and I told the barber that and then he proceeds to cut it and it’s gone back 3 months of growth, also i showed pictures and he gives a sloppy haircut and it doesn’t even look like the pictures or look good in general

After one visit, they'll all remember your name and the style of cut you prefer. Place is always full which is proof enough of the quality of service. Prices are reasonable for the time spent on sculpting your hair.
