Fantastic experience: I never treat myself. At 77 years old it’s gotten harder to think of myself as a good looking man. Ask for Mustaffa. He changed my mind, a. big boost to my confidence and a feel good day. I really just wanted a straight razor shave. Positive experience: So I had booked my usual appointment at Roosters in Kanata. Upon arrival I found out that Tasha a lovely young lady that had been doing my hair for the past 5+ years, had quit. I completely understand changing jobs or taking time off. It would have been appreciated if I had gotten a call or an email asking to re-book me with another stylist. The gentleman at the store was out front having a smoke and on the phone. He is the one who informed me of Tasha’s departure. So I gave him a shot. I was a little disappointed that with the rooster club cut, a straight razor for my neck was not used as advertised. The rooster club cut also includes shampoo and conditioner, but to my surprise no conditioner was used. Lastly while out for a smoke he used hand sanitizer over washing his hands before starting to cut my hair not to mention that his clothes now reeked of smoke. Not a great experience.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best haircut/ shaving experience of my life. The guys were welcoming and friendly, and truly experts in their craft. Couldn’t recommend them enough. Shoutout De Martino and Mustafa in Kanata, you guys are the best

Negative experience: When I got there my barber asked what I wanted, after that he didn’t speak the rest of the time until he barked the price at me. Another barber sat behind me, slouched in his chair and (intimidatingly) stared at me in the mirror the whole time. It was very uncomfortable the whole time. I will never be returning.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for 3 or 4 years, always happy with the service! I've had service from Tasha, Mustafa, and Davide before and they have all done a spectacular job. Cannot recommend this location any higher.

Negative experience: I got a haircut and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The barber struggled with my hair type, and the result was disappointing. I understand that different hair textures require different skills, but if your barbers are not experienced with African hair, customers should be informed beforehand. It would be helpful if the shop clarified the hair types they specialize in so people can make the right choice. Overall, I was not happy with my haircut and won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: I had my hair cut by Destiny. She was amazing and very friendly. She did an incredible job on the cut, especially considering I have some problem areas in my hair, but that was no problem for her! The shop itself is very clean and beautiful with wood surrounds on all the stations. I highly recommend getting your next hair cut here.

Negative experience: Tasha is the best. Period. My gripe is that I booked an appointment very early in the week for a cut and color job on Saturday as I had an event on the Sunday. Was very clear with the gentleman on the phone that I was looking to do bleach highlights and was assured it would get done. When I showed up I was told there was no product or person to do the job. Why wouldn't you tell me that when I booked so I could use the whole week to find somewhere that could do what I needed? Love the cut from Tasha but very very disappointed that the coloring didn't get done for my 40th birthday.

Negative experience: Today was the WORST barbershop experience I’ve ever had. I’m not sure who my barber was as he didn’t introduced himself or even talk to me but I can tell you that after my haircut I was extremely angry and frustrated with my experience at Roosters. While I was getting my haircut, I noticed that my barber’s (A) hands were shaking, which maybe was because he was brand new I’m not sure. I gave him the benefit of the doubt hoping that he would still be able to give me a good haircut. As I was sitting in the chair I noticed another barber (B) walking back and forth behind us looking at the back on my head constantly. I found this unusual because the shop was empty and I don’t think I’m that interesting (lol). At one point he (B) walked up to my barber (A) and stopped him and asked him if he was going to fix something on the back of my head and that it wasn’t straight. My barber (A) insisted that it was straight but the other barber (B) said it wasn’t and grabbed his clippers and began to fix the back of my head. I didn’t know what was going on at all and thought they were just cutting my hair how they thought it should be so I had to ask to see what they were doing. (B) showed me but I couldn’t say anything because it was already done. (B) then told (a) to finish the top on my head. I showed my barber how long I wanted my hair to be on top but he either completely ignored me or didn’t listen because my hair was way too long. It was the worst haircut I’ve ever had and to top it all off I ended up paying 60$ for this mess. The back wasn’t the way I wanted at all, nothing was blended, and the top of my head was way too long. Nobody asked me for my input, my opinion, or even if I liked it. I ended up going somewhere else today to get my hair fixed because it was so bad which was another 40$ ( not complaining about that because they actually got it the way I wanted IN THE FIRST PLACE). When it was all said and done I spent 60$ on something that may as well not even been done I will not being going back or recommending to anyone.

Negative experience: Well furnished place and nice enough staff, but the haircut itself turned out w bit ridiculous. For whatever reason they decided to shave a half inch swath around the ear which looks absurd. Certainly not what I would expect paying $50 for a haircut, definitely paying more for the decor here than the quality of cut.

Fantastic experience: Connor is amazing. The Kanata FB group recommended him, and he did not disappoint. My 11 yr old has thick wavy hair, and most other places will only ask what we want and get to it.. . My son was super anxious since its been 11 months since he agreed to a haircut, and wasn't 100% sure.. Connor took the time to understand what we wanted but gave suggestions also, based on my son's hair type. We are very happy with the result!

Negative experience: Absolutely criminal pricing. Mediocre service. Atmosphere is clean and professional. Only place Inflation is hitting customers harder than Loblaws! In 2023 the price for a beard trim $25 In 2024 the price for a beard trim $36 How This company only wants bougie wallets. Save your money skip this racket.

Fantastic experience: Probably the best Barber Shop in the West end of Ottawa. Go see Davide he gives an incredible fade and is constantly seeking ways to improve his skills. They also offer a professional hero discount for police, fire and military (maybe more not sure).

Negative experience: My haircut left me with a rash on my neck. The staff looked at it the next day and had no suggestions other than to treat it as an open wound. The barber consistently ignored my instructions and I'm left with a haircut that's not what I wanted. The manager did offer touch ups, but could not take me same day. Unfortunately, I now get to show up to job interviews before I can get those touch ups. I've never had a haircut I complained about. Thanks for changing that.

Negative experience: Booked two weeks prior got there and was told my appointment was with someone that I didn’t book with and that the person wasn’t there, and there was someone else who came in to see the same person earlier than their appointment, he was told the person I did book with would be right back they went to the store after a half hour of waiting they said that person was now sick and I wasted two weeks ontop of a half hour of waiting, in my opinion if someone is sick they shouldn’t go to work especially if they work this close of contact with a customer

Negative experience: My haircut is so bad it looks nothing like the photo I gave the barber, next time I go get a haircut I'll go to someone who has an acctual liscence to cut hair. If I'm going to wear my hair down, then don't slick it back before you start cutting ‍♂️ I swear these people give bad haircuts on purpose because nobody will say anything to the barber in person
