Experiencia fantástica: Michael did an absolutely phenomenal job cutting my 15-year-old son’s hair. My son has struggled to find someone who can cut his hair in a way he actually likes, but Michael nailed it. He took the time to listen to what my son wanted and delivered a cut that looks fantastic. We’re so happy we found him, and we will definitely be back to see Michael again. Highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: I scheduled a 55 minute appointment, it started 15 minutes late and finished at the scheduled time. Still $65. Haircut did not have the services advertised. It also wasn’t what I asked for, and my mustache was clipped on one side so it is too thin and uneven. I honestly could have done this haircut better myself and saved $65, and my girlfriend agrees. Do not recommend this place.

From the moment I sat in her chair, she truly listened to what I wanted and offered thoughtful, professional suggestions that turned out even better than I imagined. The haircut itself was fantastic, but what really stood out was the care and attention she put into every step of the experience—especially the scalp massage and shampoo, which were hands-down some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m beyond thrilled to have found Lena and will absolutely be returning to see her regularly. Highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: Went to this shop twice, both times the same barber could not give the haircut I asked for. He fixed the cut (free of charge) after the first time and did an excellent job. So I went back thinking he would give the same cut.. He did not take notes from the first cut and cut way more off of the back than I asked for which ruined the modern mullet I wanted and waited for my hair to grow out for. This changed the entire haircut and gives a completly different vibe. I am frustrated and disappointed that Henchman House Barbershop cannot give a good modern mullet.

It took me years to find somebody who understands my look and how to craft it and he definitely found a customer for life.

Experiencia negativa: They don't accept walk inside. It's appointment only. I was told it was on the front door after I drove 45 mins to find out. He tried to make it right and cut my hair at a slightly later time, but the hostility in the air made me feel uncomfortable letting any of them cut my hair... I was told they didn't give that information to Google, Google must have made it up.

Experiencia fantástica: Because of a bad experience at another (unnamed) barbershop, I was very apprehensive about getting my beard/mustache trimmed. Due to the uneveness of the previous unknowledgable butchering, something needed to be done. After the uncertainty of parking, which was quickly resolved. I walked in the door, I saw a gentleman with a beard sitting in the barberchair looking pretty dapper. Immediately, I felt semi-atease. When my name was called, I sat down, and Austin asked me what I wanted/needed done. He reassured me he could fix it. As he kindly explained what he would do and then started working, he briefly talked about different things that calmed my nerves tremendously! After a few scissor trimmings, buzzes of the razor, spritzes of water, and an explanation and direction of us for mustache wax, the finished product was complete. It looks fantastic! I will definitely be back! Thank you for your barbering expertise and service.

Experiencia negativa: My son's dad brought him in for a haircut yesterday. I had told him to make sure he did NOT give him a fade, as his hair was very short in the back to begin with. Just to trim up the top, and low and behold the top is so short, his colics stick up in 3 different places. 1 in the front of his head, and 2 in the back. Very disappointing and will never allow him to be brought back for another haircut. & before anyone hops on here to argue, my mother has been doing hair for over 30 years, and she should've been the one to cut it. We both knew it was gonna end up being way too short. Clearly no shears were used, especially to blend.

I had trouble trying to find someone that can cut my curly hair the way that I like it, but she's been on it since day one. She's super personable and listens to make sure she knows what you want, I always leave looking and feeling much better than when I got there!

Experiencia fantástica: Lewis is the real deal. My Gf and I moved to GR from Kalamazoo and I’ve been looking for a barber who knows what they are doing and Lewis is 1000% that guy. I’ve been dealing with some bad haircuts before coming to Henchman’s that left me feeling a little insecure until it grew out, I told Lewis this and he got me together and delivered the cut and beard line up flawlessly. My son (13) says "she cuts my hair the way I like it" The only downside to writing this review is her chair will be booked up even more than it is, if that's possible. Best around!

Experiencia fantástica: Can’t say enough good things about Tommy D. I started coming in a year or two ago and he was the first person I saw. Since then, he’s been the only one I let do my beard and hair. To add a bit of flavor… I’ve been having a pretty rough few days and missed my initial appointment time (yesterday) completely… Tommy went out of his way to get me in early (today) and listened to me complain about what I was dealing with and not only gave me a perfect cut, but was present, understanding, and a good ear. Can’t say enough about Tommy D and am super grateful to Henchmen for hiring him.

Experiencia fantástica: Henchman House is THE BEST barbershop in GR. The staff are friendly and, of course, super talented with fades, tapers, cuts, and much more. I've been a regular since I moved here in 2021. It's walking distance from my old place of residence, which made everything so easy. Austin is my go-to barber, and he always leaves me walking out with a newfound confidence. Austin is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and he really makes me feel like I'm one of the gang. Prices are honestly too cheap for the services provided ($33 for a 25 min Express Cut) There's a reason why HH consistently gets voted the Best Barbershop in GR. I would highly recommend checking them out for yourself. I'm positive you will never go anywhere else for a cut.

Experiencia fantástica: This is THE best barbershop in Grand Rapids. Their location is on point with their theme and the Creston neighborhood is so diverse. I have been getting my haircut there for over a year and each time it is flawless. We just used their extra space for a wedding party hangout, which went amazingly and was literally a highlight of the weekend. Tommy and Austin do amazing work and are incredibly personable. They help you with what you are looking for and create a service that is second to none.

He even mentioned certain things he did in the end that pertained to the picture I showed him. Also offered me advice and products that would go well with the style I was trying. Experiencia negativa: My Fiance and I are very displeased with Adam and his customer service skills, it’s my fiancé’s birthday and he spent over $80 for a nice haircut and beard trim, product and a nice tip. He got home, saw the cut closer and realized his hair/beard is messed up. From the start my fiance said it was a very awkward experience, no one greeted him at all when he came in, when he got in Adam’s chair, my fiance said he acted like he didn’t even want to be there/cut his hair, Adam also talked about a bunch of weird topics that aren’t appropriate, you NEVER know who is sitting in your chair, so to talk about things like “needing to bring bullies back” and “furries are weird” as someone who has a childhood full of bullying this was NOT appropriate. We asked if we could at least get a refund on the beard trim because we can’t make it back out for him to fix it because we don’t live close, we were met with horrible attitude and were told Adam would have to talk to the owners or we could come in, I asked him to reach out to the owners because we really would like our money for at least the beard trim back, he said “they’re not on property so they’d have to email you back” we said that was fine, he said “k” and hung up without asking for any email info. My fiance use to love this place but he won’t be back due to how rude and unprofessional Adam is. Here is picture reference, the left side doesn’t even look cut

Experiencia negativa: Didn't quite meet my expectations (based on the awards, the reviews posted here, and the price). The haircut and experience weren't awful, but they didn't quite stand out compared to other salons in this price range. Unfortunately, both my experiences were in the back room and the stylists (who were different each time) seemed uninterested in keeping me as a repeat customer.

Experiencia fantástica: Best barbers around. Mike did a great job thinning and shaping my hair based on the type and my face. They do more than just use clippers and you can tell they put the time and care into getting you the perfect cut, even when it's only an express cut. The openings they have make it easy as I never know when my hair will become too thick as it seems to happen overnight.

I'm not big on knowing the proper way to describe to a barber the way I would like my hair styled, but with the little bits of info I did give, my barber was able to give me the exact cut I had pictured getting before I stepped through the door. I was surprised with the attention to detail given and didn't feel as if I was being rushed out in order to move on to another customer. I would highly recommend this be the next place you get cleaned up at and will definitely be back myself

I needed something closer to us and we found this spot for him, reviews were accurate. We got an appointment with Lewis for today, he was very happy with his cut. He said we’re coming back in 4-5 weeks. They welcomed us all in (me, my husband, my toddler). Lewis was amazing, he made sure the cut was exactly what my son wanted. We also got clarification on a kids cut for our little boy. There was a great vibe and enjoyed the conversation throughout (one of the barbers is from Cali, just like us)! Experiencia fantástica: I decided to try Henchman House when I began having difficulty booking appointments at my usual barbershops. Fantastic service and attention to detail. Rather than making me feel like their main goal was customer rotation, the staff kept asking if they could do more detailed work. I approved and by the time I left they spent a full hour on haircut, beard trim, and eye brows. Best scissor and straight razor skills I have seen and I have tried most of the large, similarly priced barbershops around town. My new regular barbershop!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been here before after they initially opened, but my experience today was what made me want to write a review. Jelena did an awesome job. She did an excellent job interpreting my super vague instructions into a great cut. She handled my weird cowlicks, my random curls, and my uneven noggin without an issues. She was also really nice to chat with during the appointment. I was so confident in her cut, that I booked my next appointment with her before I left, and I almost never book my next appointment right away.

I booked the executive option and it was nothing short of exactly what the name suggests, they are 1 on 1 with you and what you want exactly. I was running late that day because i ran into a major traffic jam and I called them telling them I was running late Austin who cut my hair told me that it wasn't an issue and when I got there 15 mins late he got me right in, he made it a non-issue like it was going just as planned.
