I move around a lot for work so I've lived all around the country, and I have to say that it's the best barbershop I've been to anywhere, at any point, no contest. Experiencia negativa: The barbers are top notch, but the management is pretty poor. I scheduled a beard trim the day before I flew out to my wedding. My normal barber had to cancel the appointment. When I spoke with management, I asked if anyone else was available. I explained that I need to get my beard trimmed ahead of my wedding. They scheduled me another barber. On the scheduled date, the new barber wasn't at the shop. I'm not sure if the barber no showed, or if there was a scheduling error. Regardless I left the shop and never went back. To be transparent, they offered me a $50 credit. But that was a huge break in trust and I can never do business there again.

Experiencia negativa: Barbershop that doesn’t face the mirrors when cutting your hair, so you find out how it went after they are completely done. Also, don’t start trimming or sharpening up someone’s beard without asking. Took an inch off the tops of my cheeks, and left it uneven.

Experiencia fantástica: First time visiting a barbershop, and now I might have trouble going anywhere else for a trim. I’m a lady with a short pixie cut, and Benny did a fantastic job cleaning and sharpening up my look. Right away, the shop feels like home. The space is clean, inviting, and comfortable. Benny listened intently during our consultation and handled the rest with care and precision. I enjoyed talking with him and the other barbers in the shop, felt like hanging with old friends despite that I was a stranger to them. Can’t recommend this spot enough, go ahead and book that appointment!

I've lived in multiple states and countries and can't find the skills that the barbers at union have. I have thiner hair and they were still able to work their magic to make me look good.

She is hands down the best barber I've been to in St. Louis. She was very thorough and did a great job! I highly recommend this shop!

I'm terrible at describing how I want my hair cut and both barbers went the extra mile to meet me halfway by asking the right questions. Left the shop with fantastic haircuts both times. A teensy bit on the expensive side for men's haircuts in my experience, but it's worth it!

Ian and Nick have both been great barbers and each time my hair has looked fantastic. I used to go to the generic chain haircut places and always had mixed results and didn't really enjoy the experience. The atmosphere at Union is fun and engaging and actually allows for you to enjoy the conversation and the cut. I regret not coming here sooner. I can't wait to be back!

Megan & Sin the Barber are my go-to ladies. Union is also a teaching barber shop and just listening to the progressional guidance; you know that an apprentice is getting top-grade instruction. Experiencia fantástica: Ok, I don’t make a lot of reviews but I have to here. This is no BS and as real as it gets. I travel a lot for my line of work and I saw advertisements in the MMA world for this shop. It’s easily an hr from my house but honestly I’d drive even further for this place. Being in the public light every weekend on tv, I find it imperative to have a clean cut. I’ve had horrible experiences but this is by far the best place I have ever been. The attention to detail and the atmosphere is great. Genuinely felt like being invited into someone’s home and not a place of business. Very comfortable. Sami was incredible and so was Megan (I was made aware she is the owner). Made you feel so welcomed. I love the razor fade and you’re a fool if you don’t use this place for a cut. I’ve sent plenty of people here and it’s only been a few days. I’ll continue to use them every week and rave about this joint.

Had an appointment with Bonnie for a haircut, she was very professional, helpful, a wonderful conversationalist, and most importantly did a fantastic job. The shop had a good vibe and all the staff I interacted with seemed very nice. I will certainly be booking my next appointment here.

Experiencia positiva: Been coming here for about two years now and I'm rating it average because you will get some of the best haircuts of your life here and some of the worst - all under the same roof. The atmosphere is great and the staff is punctual. Benny and knux are superb, but due to scheduling issues I saw a different barber once... Didn't listen to a single word I said, lopped off my hair and left me with the worst haircut I've had in years, right before a job interview. The point is that if you are going to come here, find a barber and stick with them as all of them are skilled, but not all of them will listen to the haircut you want vs the haircut they want to give you....(The pay-ahead scheduling system they have is nice and convenient but you can't even go back and edit to add or remove tip to your payment based on your experience, but they use a third party to handle payments)

I'm from out of town but needed to get cleaned up for a last-minute trip this weekend, and he completely exceeded my expectations (as well as made me realize I need to find a better barber where I'm from...because this was worlds better than anything I've gotten there). Hearing "apprentice" made me a little nervous when booking, but I needed the trim and went for it. Thrilled that I did. He's a pro and I get the impression that it's tough to go wrong with anyone here. Great place, relaxed, and they do great work.

Experiencia negativa: Had an appointment, woke up Ill the morning of the appointment and received a call that a friend I had visited a few days before tested positive for covid. So I called to reschedule my appointment, was told it was within 24hrs so no rescheduling or refund was possible with the exception of the tip that could be refunded. Annoyed I agreed to cancel and eat the cost of the overpriced haircut. A few hours later the charge for the appointment came through including the tip. So if you want to risk getting no service on an already overpriced haircut, lied to and overcharged this is the shop for you.

Experiencia negativa: Update: Again, you made me wait 3 hours for a hair cut and acted like it wasn’t that big of a deal. Why would a give a company another shot when they act like making customers wait 3 hours is standard practice. If you went out to eat and had to wait 3 hours for your food would you give them 0 stars? If you went to buy an article of clothing and it took the clerk 3 hours to get to the counter would you give them 0 stars? I thought 1 star was decent for waiting 3 hours and still not getting a haircut but it sounds like that should be standard in your line work? Hate to break it to ya but making someone wait 3 hours for a haircut and still not cutting their hair deserves a one star review. I have been to several other places to get my haircut and not a single one of them made me wait 3 hours and then turn me away. It’s your job to fix it…not mine. You acted like it wasn’t a big deal then and your acting like making someone wait is 3 hours for a haircut is not a big deal now. You wanted to know what you did wrong so I told you. I had a great holiday and have been having a great holiday with a shop who cares. Best of luck to ya This happened years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. I was three minutes late to an appointment and they said that the barber I was scheduled with had already taken someone else. I completely understand and they asked if I would like to wait. I decided to wait and 45 minutes later they came to me and said my barber had to go to lunch. I decided to still wait. Then 30 minutes later they said my barber “had to bounce” and asked if I wanted to sit on the walk in list. I was leaving town the next day and really needed a haircut so I decided to continue to wait. After waiting one and a half hours AND them telling me I would be coming up soon the woman at the front desk tells me that, after waiting almost three hours for being three minutes late for an appointment, that they are not going to be able to get to me and wanted to reschedule. Sorry, but after being treated that way and STILL keeping my cool you get one star.

A place anyone could go and feel like something happened that was worthwhile. I never saw a place where every man who walked out had that, wow where did you get that haircut look. I saw them on the street. And i guess. Now i know! I read reviews or people complaining about tipping in advance or price or not booking a beard trim and then not being able to get one and all I can say it. Cheap people who do not value a hair cut should not go. And I feel like everyone should not be aloud to leave reviews. And these are ridiculous examples. Such a great asset to the St Louis area.

Experiencia negativa: Scheduled a haircut here quality was fine pricing was fair, the issue I had Is I wanted a very specific haircut brought in pictures to show the artist we were very clear on the haircut I was suppose to get turns out I was just given a standard hipster haircut and not at all what I asked for the the quality of my cut was fantastic just not at all what we discussed before starting below is what I showed the artist and the haircut I was given also the barber said he had no time for a hot shave which is kind of ridiculous considering when I made the appointment in advance they assured me that I would have time for whatever I wanted

Experiencia fantástica: Today was my first time coming to union barbershop- I booked a beard trim with Benny online after multiple friends have recommend him to me - I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile- offered some coffee or a drink ( the beverage area in the back is awesome ) and then I got meet Megan- who I’m convinced smile could light up a hemisphere of the planet on its own- I didn’t realize she was also the owner which makes it even cooler- and truly so nice. Everything down to the design, the energy in the shop, how clean it was , and just the simple way of how every person in there had a smile on made me excited to come back. It’s nice to walk into something small and locally owned and they are just knocking out of the park. ( also the beard trim looks amazing) excited for my next trim.

Experiencia negativa: Their cancellation policy is extremely frustrating. You will be charged no matter what. Got sick the evening before an appointment. Tried canceling online so you know I wouldn’t be sick on the chair the next day. You can’t. Tried calling to reschedule, or cancel first thing in the morning and the manager was not flexible at all. He told me it’s a product I purchased when I made the appointment not when I got the haircut. Maybe the barbers are worth it here? But the service and policy was beyond frustrating so be warned.

We had made appointments for haircuts & beard trims. Pinball and pool upstairs, fully stocked bar. Bea was awesome, super chill, AND she suggested a few cool spots to check out in the Soulard area. Rad little spot

Experiencia negativa: Haircut was meh. I forgot her name(blonde/does modeling). But it seems that they hire women based on their looks, rather than experience and capability. There's definitely an overtly macho atmosphere from the owner/manager. It's cringe and unnecessary. If they have that attitude towards hiring women(probably to sleep with, lets be real). It's unlikely that they put much effort into what matters. My barber admitted to having little experience and wasn't able to achieve the looks I showed her pictures of. I gave her several styles and she said she couldn't do any of them. Told her to just go with a standard medium length haircut, what she thinks looks good and received a GreatClips cut and I was out $100 for the full service cut and tip. If you're into oogling scantily clad attention seeking young girls, drinking alcohol, and are into flirting with strangers. Then go for it. If you want a mediocre cut for 10x what it's worth, go elsewhere. I won't be going back. The atmosphere is vapid and extremely overpriced for the service received. Update: I just read the responses from the owner. Wow, what a rude condescending weirdo. Poor spelling too. Yeah, I won't give this place a second thought. That's probably why there's a revolving door of young unskilled "barbers" at this place.

I booked with @Bonnie_the_Barber_ by luck of the draw (searched for services desired at a specific time) and she has been my regular barber ever since. A cool chick with the skills for a good ole haircut, beard trim, & straight razor finish. All the other staff I have interacted with have been friendly & helpful. Check 'em out.

Experiencia fantástica: I've had a couple of haircuts from Hess. He does a consistent good job. My hair was a bit grown out both times, and he gave it a nice shape with a clean fade and enough weight where I wanted it. I've heard people in St. Louis say that this place is sort of expensive. It's more than I pay in rural Tennessee but less than I pay in Atlanta, so I'd say that the pricing is very fair for the time spent and attention to detail.
