Experiencia fantástica: Andrea (Drea) was my stylist today. It had been almost 2 yrs since my postpartum hair had received any attention. Drea listened to my hair-hopes and advised me on the healthiest way for me to keep my length. She gave the cut I both wanted and needed. I appreciate her kind relaxed conversation and vibe. When the opportunity arises I hope to have get on her book as a client again. Thank you Drea!

Experiencia negativa: 1 Star – Extremely Disappointed After 3+ Years of Loyalty I have been a loyal Floyd’s 99 customer for over three years, driving 30 minutes each way to the Lutherville, MD (York Road) location because I trusted the quality and consistency. Unfortunately, this last experience has me seriously reconsidering ever returning. I booked what I selected as a 3:00 PM appointment through the app. When I arrived at 3:00 PM, I was told my appointment was actually scheduled for 4:30 PM. I’m very particular about my hair, and since my regular stylist is no longer at this location, I was already stepping out of my comfort zone by trying someone new. The confusion with the booking felt frustrating, but I chalked it up to possible human error and agreed to return at 4:30 PM as that was what showed in their system. What made the situation worse was the lack of professionalism at the front desk. The young woman checking me in showed zero personality, no warmth, and no customer service skills whatsoever. There was no effort to resolve the issue or acknowledge the inconvenience. The overall morale in the salon felt noticeably low. Only one familiar stylist remained; everyone else appeared new, and the atmosphere reflected that. While I was there at 3:00 PM, I witnessed walk-ins being taken ahead of scheduled appointments. Then, at 4:00 PM, I received a text saying my appointment had to be moved again — this time to 5:30 PM. That was the breaking point. After already adjusting once, I was now being pushed back again due to walk-ins being prioritized over scheduled clients. As someone who has consistently driven 30 minutes to support this location, this level of disorganization and disregard for scheduled appointments is unacceptable. I canceled my appointment and left. Loyal customers deserve better communication, better service, and basic respect for their time. Sadly, it may be time for this long-time Floyd’s customer to find another salon.

Experiencia negativa: This place is horrible and unprofessional had an appointment set up was 3 minutes late due to an accident on the road was denied a haircut meanwhile there where 3 barbers sitting in there chair on there phones. Also by the way your front desk person really knows how to give the customers a warm welcome. Do not go here

Experiencia fantástica: Both my boys (10 and 8) had been asking to go see a Barber for their haircuts, so my oldest chose this shop and booked with Emmanuel. To tell you they were both OBSESSED with their haircuts, and how nice, talented and thorough this young man was, might be an understatement. He is amazing, they both left saying it was the best haircut they had ever had, and they only want him to cut their hair from now on. I was so impressed by how great he was with both of them, how much he listened to what they wanted, and the amount of time/skill he spent making sure everything was perfect. Emmanuel is phenomenal, and I was so happy to see how excited my boys were with their results!!

Experiencia fantástica: I love Floyd’s 99. It’s mostly the vibe, it relaxes me. There are cheaper haircuts but I get consistently good haircuts most importantly for a reasonable price.

Experiencia negativa: Genuinely the worst haircut I have ever had. I went in and said I wanted a medium fade with nothing off the top. I made sure the stylist understood. After finally being spun around so that I could see myself in the mirror I had absolutely zero hair on the side of my head. When I was a private in the military I didn't even have something this high. She then proceeded to take "some" off the top. In the end it looked like I had a yamakuh with a little hair poking out the top. I had to go home and shave the rest off. I am now bald and will probably never be able to grow my hair back again for the rest of my life. Do not go here.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been going to a stylist there for a long time. She always made me wait 5-10 minutes after my appointment time so she could go outside and smoke a cig. I always overlooked it, because she did a good job. Today I was running late, but wasn’t stressed because she always makes me wait. However, today I showed up and interacted with a very stern cashier with no personality that treated me like a walk-in. Couldn’t get my haircut. I won’t be coming back. This place gets worse and worse and this was my sign to go somewhere else. Sorry, Millie. Hope you enjoyed your cig.

Experiencia fantástica: Great experience! I had been self cutting my hair since Covid days and looked like it. Decided it was time for a proper cut and signed up with Kim S. (Headliner) and wow, did she make me human again. She went above what I anticipated with my haircut and beard trimming. The hot towel shave was relaxing and perfect. Thanks Floyd's AND Kim for helping me not resemble a zombie anymore!

Experiencia negativa: Always liked the vibe of this place. Loyal customer for years. Regularly drove up from Edgewood to get my hair cut here. NEVER AGAIN! Showed up less than a minute past the late arrival window, walked up to the desk as they’re talking about removing me from the schedule, and was ultimately refused to be seen until the next appointment hours later. There is zero logical reason to have turned me away at that moment. The woman working the front desk was more interesting in nomming on a cake pop than helping me at all. From now on, I’ll save the extra gas and effort it takes to drive to Timonium. It took me longer to drive home than it would’ve taken y’all to my hair.

They always make sure to leave you as pleased as possible, and they are very accommodating of people of all ages and disabilities as well! In particular, the last time I went, Kimberly and Crystal were so kind to me and made me feel so great while I was being cut and styled. Experiencia negativa: Walked in and was told 15 min wait time at 1:30pm. After the 15 min time expired I walked to the front desk and was told by Aiden that unfortunately I have to wait until 3pm. The time as of writing this is 1:48pm. Unacceptable and I will never do business wth them. Towson Location. No thank you.

Experiencia negativa: Called and made an appointment for our son a week in advance. Got there in advance and was told that the barber called out and they were trying to squeeze everyone in. A 10:30am appt would have turned into a 1pm appt. Dude at the front was very rude about it. We decided to go somewhere else. Idk, seems like yall could have had the decency to call and tell us.

Experiencia negativa: Good stylists, high prices and horrible scheduling and accountability. Appointments are routinely cancelled with little or no notice. They have a scheduling app but when a stylist doesn’t show up for work, which is common, you find out when you get there or they might send an unbranded text from a personal cellphone that looks like spam.

Experiencia positiva: My son goes here regularly and it’s usually an upbeat place with good music - a little pricey but very nice stylists. There is unfortunately one stylist who is a bit sullen and unhelpful but fortunately the front desk made a note of it so that we wouldn’t use her again.

Experiencia fantástica: Gave 5 stars for Crystal who provided excellent color and cut and was very easy to work with Very unsatisfied for the condition of the parking lot. Not plowed after 4 inches of snow 2 days prior. Very slippery and scary situation.

Experiencia negativa: I've been going to Elise who's done a fantastic job, consistent and listens. Kese also was great. Yesterday I ended up being late for my appointment so they put me in with their "headliner". Describe as a person with extra experience so I expected good things. I told her had been 3 weeks since I got my haircut and then I wanted to tighten the sides up and put a little shape in the top. She asked if she could do a skin fade around the sides which I've had before so I said yes but clarified to keep the fade low. Clearly she wasn't listening because within minutes there was two and a half inches of hair in my lap. Too late to change it now. It's not that it's a bad haircut just not at all when I ask for. Plus because of her experience it was $44. This is why it's important to stay with somebody you know. Lesson learned

As a middle schooler, my son is particularly sensitive about his appearance, and I’m thrilled to say that since he started going to Hana, he’s been getting compliments from his friends. I've been getting the same style for years and decided to change it up without knowing what I wanted, so I gave her some vague descriptions and she used her expertise for a great cut that looks great with my features. Experiencia negativa: I got my haircut done by Kenneth. He was very nice but didn’t do what I asked. I asked for the sides to be shaved off and the top to be 1 inch long. The result is as pictured below. It’s a nice haircut but it’s not what I asked for. I wanted it sheared off, not a trim. I was equally as shaggy before the haircut as I was after, but they shaved $41 out of my wallet for this look.

Experiencia negativa: Hello, the haircut I was looking is to look good and not bald. Secondly, after cutting, there was no shape given in the front or side using the blades and it’s only in the back. I informed that I am looking for No 1 size on the side and back but need No 2 on the top however she use No 1 everywhere and makes me look bald. I always set my hair from the top. Additionally, after cutting my hair she just went away without giving any shape to it. Wherever I had cut my hair before they take time and explain before doing anything. I feel like I thrown out of the saloon in 15 mins without paying attention feels like I am just a number for you guys. I am not happy and satisfied.

Experiencia negativa: Went in for a haircut and I arrived on time for my appointment. Waited about 5 mins which was great but the person who cut my hair reeked of cigarettes. I told them what I wanted and they really just talked me into doing whatever they wanted to do. They just cut my hair in what they thought was appropriate and kept emphasizing what they were doing to convince me it was okay. My hair smells like cigarettes now because of the residue on their fingers. I only get my haircut at this barbershop but now I will be finding a new one. To add the people who have cut my hair here before don’t work there anymore. I can see why. I wish I could get my $49 back. I’m incredibly dissatisfied

Experiencia negativa: This was my favorite spot for the longest time. However, my haircut today was butchered beyond belief. Barber consistently ignored my requests and ended up taking off over an inch more than I asked, all while claiming I had no idea what I was talking about. Never have I ever been so upset and humiliated in my life. There is no salvaging the mess that is my hair. Safe to say I will never be coming back again. *Warning for anyone with curly hair*

In the middle of my haircut, my barber left to pick up Uber eats, and didn’t return. My haircut wasn’t finished. When I asked if someone could finish it, they charged extra. Don’t get haircuts here.

Experiencia negativa: Out of the handful of times I’ve been to this location, majority have left me with a botched haircut. The first time, I had multiple hairs left significantly longer than the rest that were cut. Other occasions— such as my most recent just a few weeks ago— I walked out with what I thought was a great cut until I noticed that the symmetry of my hair is far off from what it should be: long sections shaped and textured completely different in comparison to the other side! No matter how I style it, it still looks asymmetrical and more often than not wear a hat to cover up the mistakes. Despite my negative experience after the fact, I did always look forward to coming into the shop, taking in the ambience, speaking with the employees at the front desk, and enjoying the amenities that they provide while having your hair styled/cut. The stylists/barbers all are very charismatic and seem to have great knowledge in what they do, which is what always trips me up when I leave with such poor haircuts. One stylist in particular that I initially enjoyed, John, took an appointment with me a few months ago and when I was in his chair he made me feel heard, seemed to understand the look I wanted, and absolutely nailed an awesome haircut for me! The next time I made an appointment with him (my most recent experience), the vibe seemed different from the first time with him; maybe the initial whimsical feeling wore off, but I just didn’t feel as welcomed as I did before with him. He still seemed to get what I had in mind, and was willing to make adjustments time and time again upon request. Unfortunately, my gut was right in that the vibe wasn’t the same, and the haircut I ended up with wasn’t either. It took me a day or two to realize the mistake, but after I took note it seemed all the more extreme and ultimately disappointing. For clarification, John is not the only stylist I have seen at this location, and is not the only to have made a relatively significant mistake such as the one from my most recent experience. All in all, I’m not sure if I will return to this location, even though they have the “7-day guarantee”, and the other great amenities they offer. I’m not sure where I will go, but I don’t believe it will be back here.

Experiencia fantástica: My 14-year-old son is overly protective of his hairstyle. We have tried a few people at this location - until he found Ivan. Normally, I would stand by and explain what he wanted but with Ivan, no need! My son proclaimed he will only ever go to Ivan for his cuts. Hana, the assistant shop manager, has been cutting my hair for about a year and is an excellent stylist. I always book online and very rarely have any kind of wait to be seen. Experiencia fantástica: Every visit to your Lutherville location has been great. I’ve become a regular with Ivan and his ability to consistently curate a clean and blended cut has been a relief. Experiencia negativa: There was an accident and I was 7 min late for my appointment. I was told that I could not be helped. I had been going here for y”YEARS. but will NEVER go here again after the way one of their employees, a Josh, treated me. After leaning aggressively over the front desk and repeatedly calling me “BRO”, he told me “you can leave now”. How dare an employee talk to a patron like that? WOW is all I can say. I will never go here EVER. If you want a good experience, I advise to go elsewhere.

We tried a few different barbers at this location who were also good but now book exclusively with Ivan. Experiencia negativa: Went here today and got the worst haircut I've had in a long while, and it sounds like others have had similar experiences with the same barber. He gets an A for effort at least, I was in the chair for about 30 minutes, so it wasn't the result of rushing. But when I was finally shown the result my hair was butchered pretty badly. For the price being charged I expect to get reliably qualified barbers!

Experiencia negativa: So I can't speak to the quality of the haircuts, I'm sure they're great, but I cannot reccomend coming here for a shave. I'm getting married today and thought I'd treat myself to a classic shave to get ready for the big day. Apparently, that was a mistake. For starters, for being advertised as a "straight razor shave", about 80% of it was done with an electric trimmer. Maybe that's standard? Not sure. But the real issue is that a lot of it felt like the hairs were being pulled out, and now my face is covered in patchy red marks. Additionally, there were significant areas that got missed. I pointed this out and got a minor correction, but there's still quite a bit of hair that I'll have to take care of. I'm very much regretting not just doing it myself as I can get a closer, cleaner shave without the nicks and inflammation.

Experiencia negativa: The sign out front says walk ins welcome, the automated answering machine says so as well. I know this is probably more an issue with corporate/management but why advertise walk ins if you can never accommodate them? I live close by this location and out of the many times I’ve tried I’ve only successfully walked in once. I get that it’s dependent on how many barbers are scheduled, but there’s 8 or so chairs and one barber working many of the times I’ve come in.

Experiencia positiva: Arrived a bit early and checked in. 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment time they acted surprised I was there and asked who I was there to see. Didn’t remember a name (just the face on the website) so I said I dunno. Then they gave me to a different person like oh yeah he just cleaned up. Even though I’m pretty sure the chick I scheduled with was just standing there chatting. So I have to dock them for: - the switcharoo: booked her for a reason, her profile said she specialized in what I want, they chose at random - the lateness: only 10 min but I checked in and then it was like they forgot. That’s annoying. The only reason it’s not 2 stars is: - they at least seem nice? - 10 min isn’t that crazy to wait I was just in a hurry and wasn’t sure I had time for the cut anymore Kind of just a junior varsity operation overall

Experiencia positiva: I came for a cut last Sunday , the African American origin barber in the store gave me the worst haircut of my life . My hair were all uneven from the front and no proportions from the back . It just looks disgusting.Although , he tried his best to work on it as I guided him to . I literally had to go to another barber shop after the haircut to get it fixed . He was very unprofessional, you may have better barbers , but the one who took care of me doesn’t deserve to be there. Experiencia fantástica: I was in desperate need of a haircut, but since moving back to the area, I had no idea as to where to go. I have really short hair and have had better luck with a barber than a cosmetologist. I called Floyd's in hopes of getting an appointment that day and I did. Mandy did my haircut exactly, and I mean exactly, how I wanted it. I can't tell you the number of times I have explained and shown pictures of what I wanted to no avail. She was funny and told me not to worry, she totally got what I wanted. One happy woman here!!! The shop itself is pretty cool looking. The decor is eye catching. They do more than just cuts, so don't let the name throw you. They aren't there just for the guys!! I will definitely be going back, in fact I am in need of a trim. Time to make a call!!!

Experiencia positiva: Some of the time the hair cuts are good but one of the barbers isn’t great with long hair. I went in asking to essentially trim my mullet and I ended up walking out with a bowl cut. I got them last time and they just cut one side shorter than the other and didn’t bother fixing it.

Experiencia fantástica: Go Ivan! It’s been a few weeks since I got my haircut but I wanted to make sure and come back here to thank Ivan for the great cut and look. My hair is think and wavy and hard to cut short. Ivan did a great job handling the complexities of my middle eastern hair and I got the cut I always wanted… finally! Thank you Ivan!

Experiencia positiva: Staff is very friendly but one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever gotten. Going to have to go to Darrell Barrett to fix this. Would not recommend. Edit: although I was unhappy with my haircut. Floyd management reached out to make it right. As advertised in my initial review, the staff is friendly and helpful and will make things right if things aren’t what you wanted.

Experiencia fantástica: Milli is AMAZING!! I have been going to see her for almost 2 years. My 2 boys go as well. She is literally the best. She knows exactly how to cut your hair!!

Experiencia fantástica: The people were very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm not very good at getting haircuts but the stylest was able to get good results. I love the results of the beard trim.

Experiencia fantástica: Ada was great, no idea about the "massage" offered, she did a kids cut for my son Owen, she did a fantastic job and very friendly to him through the dry hair cut. Ada was accommodating of my asks as his parent, thank you again Ada !
